Overview

Raise a glass: The 2023 Chrysler 300 is the end of the line for Chrysler's smartly dressed muscle car. Dwindling sales, general buyer disinterest in sedans, and the specter of a forthcoming electric crossover-sedan mashup mean the 300 has outlived its usefulness. The 300 owes its longevity, in part, to the Dodge Charger, which is produced on the same platform and has offered a two-for-one manufacturing benefit. But with the Charger also due for an imminent exit, the business case appears to have evaporated.

2023 caps a good 18-year run for the 300 sedan. Chrysler sold more than 400,000 units in the first few model years, and the 300's Bentley-like styling and affordable price made it a staple in music, fashion and lifestyle niches. Iconic menswear designer John Varvatos even had a one-off signature edition, which got a promo push from legendary rocker and Michigan native Iggy Pop.
But sales tapered off, rebounded slightly in the mid-2010s after a redesign, and have slowed to a trickle ever since. We've been fans of the 300's plush and spacious cabin, big trunk and comfortable ride quality. Its respectable V6 and burly V8 engines deliver satisfying acceleration, and you can get the 300 with all-wheel drive. It remains a smart pick that looks good in the valet line and can comfortably cover long distances. While rival full-size sedans, including the Volkswagen Arteon and Toyota Avalon, offer more modern tech and better fuel economy, the 300 still makes a bold statement.
That's especially true of the 2023 Chrysler 300C, which will end the 300 run with a roar. Limited to just 2,000 units in the U.S., the 300C essentially plugs the Charger/Challenger's 6.4-liter V8 under the hood of the stately 300. Output is bumped to a rocking 485 hp and 475 lb-ft. Chrysler says the 300C sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The 300C also features four-piston Brembo brakes for increased stopping performance and adaptive dampers that will allow the 300C to switch between laidback cruiser and corner-tackling sport sedan.
2023 Chrysler 300 trim level differences
The 2023 Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan available in Touring, Touring L, S and C trim levels. Each is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the rear wheels. The V6 generates 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque in the Touring and Touring L and 300 hp and 264 lb-ft in the S. All-wheel drive is an option with the Touring and Touring L trims. Chrysler also offers a 5.7-liter V8 (363 hp, 394 lb-ft) for the 300S. There's also the 2023-only 300C, which swaps in a 6.4-liter V8 (485 hp, 475 lb-ft).
Which 300 trim does Edmunds recommend?
We think the Touring L trim is a pretty good option. It comes with stylish 20-inch wheels and leather upholstery, and its soft suspension offers a more comfortable ride than the S trim's sport-tuned suspension. The Touring L is also available with all-wheel drive for added traction when the snow flies. To this, we'd add the Popular Equipment group for the panoramic sunroof and the Comfort group for the ventilated seats.

2021 Chrysler 300 S 4dr Sedan (5.7L 8cyl 8A)
I read the car and driver - needs makeover, so dated -- So much BS. Ours is a 2021 300S with all the options. It is a great cruiser - comfortable, good power, smooth transmission, intuitive user/driver interface, comfortable all day long, back seat is spacious, driving experience is excellent. Visibility is very good and the interior fit/finish is perfect for the price range. … Compared it to Challenger/Charger - OK so its not a big bruising muscle car thats gonna lay down rubber for 3 city blocks - but who does that? I guess the kids that tore up the intersection down the street last Saturday night - but for most of us, the 5.7 Hemi is plenty. Could not be happier and glad Chrysler offered it up.
Powerful V8, quiet, beautiful to own and drive.

2021 Chrysler 300 S 4dr Sedan (5.7L 8cyl 8A)
I am 75 y/o. Had many cars in my lifetime, but this car is the ultimate. 2019 300C, platinum edition, fully loaded. Yes I love to say that. So well mannored, relaxing to drive, YET! If you want to blow that kid off next to you driving that weed wacker, he's way back in the rear view mirror in a few seconds. It turns into a monster with just a few minor adjustments. I purchased this car … 18 months ago, a 2019. It had 1150 miles on it and was only one year old. It was an incredible find. Not a tiny chip of paint or scratch anywhere. Showroom condition. Just did not work out for the man that bought it. I now have 21,000 miles on it and its just heaven to own and drive. The classic design is forever. I keep all my cars imaculate, and have people coming up to me and telling me what a beautiful designed car I have. I realize Chrysler has to change it, but it is still very much liked even though the design is 16 years old. A Classic if their ever was one.

2021 Chrysler 300 S 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
I just purchased my 2021 300 with the blacked out package with the 20 inch wheels...I was able to get with the biege/linen interior, apparently not easy to come by...that was what I was looking for and I got the only one around...so very happy with this beautiful and comfortable car. I would have liked the V8 but the V6 has plenty on tap...it has a fair amount of thoughtful options, … especially at this price point...I traded a 2018 Toyota Camry (a good car) for it and have no regrets...This car stands in a class by itself, against the grain of homogenized trends...I gave you slogan a here Chrysler...keep this going..Dodge doesn't seem to be afraid to buck the tide...
Dated design? Really?

2021 Chrysler 300 S 4dr Sedan (5.7L 8cyl 8A)
It’s a great design that is why it has endured. In my opinion far better than the origami designs that all have adopted. Which will look dated quickly.
