Customer Attentiveness and Efficient Service
by Geesz2 on 07/30/2024My car buying experience at Koons Toyota Arlington was satisfactory from beginning to end. Mr. Sergii Gulei , assigned salesperson, was engaging, knowledgeable, and assisted me in my efforts to gain additional information, test drive and… purchase the vehicle in the color of my choice. In addition, Mr. Gulei provided a thorough explanation and demonstration of the vehicle features for my familiarity. The purchase process was seamless. Kudos to the Manager (Mr. Kashani) and Finance/Business Manager (Mr. Chavan) in the assistance they provided, and transparency relayed throughout the purchase process. Well Done!David Delivered on my Venza
by Kelly on 07/02/2024This dealer may seem small compared to some others in northern Virginia, they had a decent selection of cars to test drive and when the color and specks were not what I wanted, they put in the effort to find and get me just what I wanted!… Great serviceKelly, we're delighted to hear that our team at Koons Arlington Toyota could find the perfect car for you! Thanks for sharing your positive experience with us.

Mom’s Best Experience / Drove from Richmond !
by Nicole S RVA on 02/06/2023I was shopping for the solar octane 4 Runner. I checked with a lot of dealerships… see bottom of review. A prompt email from Saeed Wehelie at Koons Arlington Toyota after making an inquiry on line. I had a 1 owner FJ that I was looking to… possibly trade. I told Saeed I wasn’t in a hurry but would purchase 4Runner if it was the right deal. We did all the negotiating via text. I think that we both came out feeling good about deal… the way it should be. I put a 3K deposit on the one they had on order , never having set foot in the dealership. My husband was worried that we would drive an hour and they would change the deal in person . I reassured him that I felt very confident in the dealership (gut feeling) and my interaction. The deal was just as expected… it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. We drove up in my yellow FJ and drove back in my Solar Octane 4Runner. They were professional, polite, attentive and I could not recommend Saeed enough. Others should learn from them. I know this is a long review.. sorry.. but given there is a shortage of many vehicles I was amazed at the number of dealerships that acted like they didn’t care if they got my business or not. Even though I had a car to trade in … giving them more inventory. If I had not found Saeed I would have been more than happy to keep driving my FJ. My local dealership ( where I bought my fj 16 years ago) offered to order one for me a week earlier… when I started looking for a possible new car …but I was very turned off by their laughing at how much they were going to charge me above Msrp. The Sales manager didn’t act like they cared or really wanted my business .. just my gut feeling. They Felt had hot item and just acted like I shouldn’t question and I was wasting their time. Nope! Another Toyota dealership in midlothian had the car but, not sure if it was because I was a woman, but salesmen spoke over me repeatedly and inferred I was stupid. Told me it wasn’t the same car as the one I was looking at in Nova because it wasn’t from priority Toyota w/ their backing. He was so belittling I should have hung up on him. Have told everyone I know how Rude and NOT TO DEAL WITH THEM. So definitely not them. I HAVE told ALL my friends and family that the drive is more than worthwhile to be treated right. I have always found and negotiated all of my immediate family’s cars. Will be the first place I look when helping my family shop in future. Both kids soon due for new vehicles. There are still salesmen and dealerships that get word of mouth and service is important. Thank you! Nicole PS .. I couldn’t be more thrilled…I love FUN dependable vehicles… still trying to talk husband into a GR Corolla too… look like way too much fun!! Kid at heart here. This is great to hear! Congratulations on your new Toyota 4Runner! We are thrilled that Saeed and the rest of the Koons Arlington Toyota team were able to provide such excellent service to you throughout the buying process. It warms our hearts that we were able to provide you with the best experience possible and we appreciate you making the drive to come to see us. Have a great day and enjoy the new ride!

Great Dealership!
by jechatfield on 10/16/2016Awesome dealership! Bought a new 4runner from Chiraz last week. The first trip was kind of rough just because we couldn't come to an agreement over the trade in price. I was pretty tired since I had been car shopping all day, so after a… few hours I asked for my key and left. I wasn't 100% ready to buy. The next day, Chiraz called me and offered me a more than fair price on my trade, as well as a great price on the 4runner. I came in and the car had been detailed and brought over. She hustled through getting everything else ready. Shant, the GM, made everything easy as well. I filled out the forms and she showed me all the features on the car during the pre-delivery inspection. She showed me the service dept and how to schedule an appointment. I signed the papers and was in and out of there in less than 2 hours. I was looking for a black Trail premium and they were the only ones in the area that had it (except for a dealer in MD that had terrible reviews and not as good of a price). Also their e-price wasn't misleading like the other dealers in the area (which don't include $940 freight charge). Very happy with the 4runner and the dealership! Thank you Chiraz and Shant!Koons? Ok. Don't work with Shant Y.....
by mkhc on 08/04/2015Koons is ok, but do not work with Shant Y This guy will say anything to sell a car. He lacks attention to detail When I purchased my Prius he forgot to make sure my inspection sticker was on there and I almost got a ticket a few days… later. He has a very misogynistic attitude towards women and tries to turn on his charm and flirt his way through a sale. He is all about saying whatever you want to hear...but his follow through is very weak. Find someone more professional.Great experience
by ajay16 on 06/17/2014As a first car buyer, I was not sure which Toyota model is good for me. So, I tried Corolloa, Prius and Camry. My sales consultant was Nurzhan was patient and listened to my needs. He explained me the difference in trim levels and… equipment. I have done a lot of research online for pricing and Koons wow price is very fair and straightforward. Ermek was taking care of all paperwork and everything went smooth. At the time we have done with paperwork, My Prius was gased and cleaned. Nurzhan walked over with me, set up bluetooth, explained the service. I an very satisfied with Koons, Nurzhan and Ermek.Good experiences over last twelve years
by nhopper2 on 10/14/2010I have purchased six new Toyotas since 1999 at Koons Arlington and have always been very pleased with the experience. Personnel changes have been frequent over the years (typical, I think), but I usually find "the good people" upon… returning for the latest purchase. In fairness, I am very familiar with the car business, being in the repair aspect thirty three years(BMW). My knowledge and confidence may have resulted in better treatment than someone "outside the biz" might receive. I don't know. But I would say that I've always been completely straightforward in my dealings with them and that respect has been returned. I'm sure the sales staff there, as well as anywhere, appreciate not being treated with suspicion and the usual defensive measures that many potential customers employ(quite often for good reason..), and HOPEFULLY will respond accordingly. Obviously, not every sales staff member can be counted on to act in good faith - it may take asking around to find the right person. My approach does not imply that one shouldn't be informed and blindly walk in any dealership. Resouces such as Edmunds are very important in that process. I'm just suggesting that the above approach MAY be useful in defusing some of the sales nonsense that all to often accompanies the sales experience at any dealership. It worked for me at Koons Arlington - I hope it works for you.UNPROFESSIONAL, BAR NONE THE WORST
by rbuenio on 03/08/2010I absolutely HATE Koons Arlington Toyota in VA. Everything I have to say is a negative superlative with this place. This is the worst ran business out there, and I mean WORST. If you want to be scammed and want to be treated like [violative… content deleted] (for the lack of better terms), then by all means go there. From the way they treat you and the way they conduct their business, NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is integral. You would want to think that every business strive to work for the customer's satisfaction and earn their respect, well not Koons Arlington Toyota. They would jerk you around and treat you like a worthless street beggar once they get that paper signed and took that money from you, especially the used car "manager". Well I bought a used car from them the 29th of January with a limited warranty. Returned the car for repairs under warranty on the 15th of February. So fair enough, they gave me a loaner to use in the mean time. Within that time period, it's painstaking to find a way to talk to these people. They won't return phone calls and if they do answer they will say they're "with a customer" and they will call back. Guess what, don't hold you breath and wait for that phone call like I did because they never give you a call back. Anyways, 2 weeks later I finally got my car back. Now here's another problem, I paid for the repairs, but they NEVER gave me a receipt on what repairs have been done. Seriously, you have got to be kidding me. Is it even legal for a business to not give a receipt? That's a malpractice. It's not like I bought a shoe and I didn't get a receipt! It's $600 worth of repairs and I didn't even get a proof of service that's supposedly was repaired. Now that's ridiculous and shady. I have a list of things that they were supposed to do, now God knows they only repaired 1 out of them for $600. Now I'm chasing them, again, to get a receipt and to get proof on what have been done to the car and what I paid for. This is absolutely unnecessary from my end as a customer. I shouldn't be going thru this hassle. So I called Alan Ramezan, the used car "manager" and inquired about the receipt. He now tells me that the transaction has been "cancelled" and I have to be re-charged again for it. So out of curiousity, I called my credit card company to validate the "credit" that he said was returned to me, and sure enough there were no credit from them. My credit card company said that it shows a charge of $600 from them, but it's not credited back. So if my gut feeling is right, I'm sensing that they are trying to make me pay double than what I'm supposed to pay. At this time, I'm so drained out and frustrated. I now have to wait another day just to get a service receipt. Not to mention, me constantly finding time to go there and talk to these people. I have a feeling that they are trying to avoid giving a receipt because they didn't fix everything they said that they will fix. Basically, I paid for services that they can't even back up in writing that they did. This shows how shady and unprofessional they conduct business with their customers. If that's the case then I will let Better Business Bureau or whoever aware of that. Oh let me tell you more about the used car "manager". Alan has been absolutely USELESS on helping customers. His customer service is bar none the WORST kind you'll experience from a salesman. It's sickening to see people like him working at this level because you get no respect and no ounce of integrity from him. Incompetent and untrustworthy are the only words I can think of to describe him. I've just about had it with Koons Arlington Toyota in VA, it's so pathetic and ridiculous. I never expected this level of horrible customer service coming from a big name company. Words couldn't describe how horrid, frustrating and how much I despise this dealership. I wouldn't even let my worst enemy go there to spare them the headache and troubles I'm having now. My goal is to let peThe Worst
by doveva on 11/10/2009I have heard of dealerships and car salesmen that aren't honest and that are notoriously deceitful. This is the origin of those types of places. I received an online quote for a new car. The price was very good, but not exceptional. I was… getting ready to go in to make buy the car when I got an email from the salesperson saying she had made a "mistake" on the offer and she "didn't know what came over her" but the price was actually $2500 more then what she quoted me. I understood everyone makes mistakes but I asked her to honor the price since I had changed my plans, made some personal finance moves to line everything up to buy the car. She had the sales manager call me and tell me that she made a mistake and that the car was not on their lot and that "oh maybe it sold" but it isn't on their lot. I asked him if they were getting any more 2010 (it being Nov of 09) models in and he said "no". How convenient that I asked they honor the price for the car and "oh it sold" and we aren't getting any more of those cars in. A total and complete lie in that I received and email from Koons Tysons Location and the sales person asked if I wanted to reserve the very same car that they were getting some in later this month. The salesperson may or may not have made a mistake but the sales manager was obviously lying to me and had no intention of honoring the price quoted to me in an email.Good Experience with a New Car
by brothero on 08/14/2009I walked in with a no-haggle price from USAA. Koon's Toyota contacted me beforehand, didn't have what I wanted, but called around to some dealerships. When I walked in, they couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I was looking for a Prius,… gold-type color. When they couldn't find the car from another dealer and didn't have what I wanted on hand, they offered to order the car. Had they not, I would have walked. These guys wanted my business. The salesman was great. He walked me through the uniqueness of a Prius and helped me as I went on a test drive. He really knew that vehicle well. The order took three weeks, which was fine with me. I got what I wanted. They even had a deal for military with a much lower financing than my insurance/loan company. Just watch out for those expensive service packages they try to sell. I bought one, but I'll never do that again. It's not worth the cost. Research that before you go to the finance person. That's where they'll try to sell that stuff. It's not worth it. Be scared when they offer up the service packages.Horrible Experience, No integrity, poor customer service etc
by keoneill82 on 07/16/2008I bought a pre-owned Rav 4 in February and obtained a loan through a 3rd party. It is now July and the third party has not received the title from Toyota, therefore the interest rate on the loan is going up tremendously. I've called Koons 3… times and spoken with the manager every time. Each time I've been assured that the title was sent. It was not and now the time is up. This whole experience has been a NIGHTMARE. Additionally, after I took ownership of the car, a part fell out and the service to replace it was really slow. There was a mark on the dashboard that Koons said they would clean up and never did. They also accidentally process the loan through Toyota even though I said not to. I was sorting out that mess and getting bills from two places for a few months. In short, the saleman are lazy and dishonest and the service horrendous in every possible way. Avoid this place at all costs. I am now searching the web to post at every available site with reviews to make sure no one else goes here. It was that bad.[violative content deleted] In Used Car Dept.
by jeremytford on 06/24/2008The used car I purchased there had some "We Owe" items to be taken care of. Instead of allowing me to leave it there after purchase, I was forced to drive it away and bring it back later. When I brought it back, they kept it for a week… and then informed it it was ready for pick up. I arrived to find that only two out of the five items had been completed (the two most simple and inexpensive). I also found trash and food crumbs in the passenger compartment, as well as used napkins in the cargo area. I had to bring the vehicle back for the remaining items (transfer case repair, alignment, body work/detailing). Now, a week later from dropping off for the second time, I am being told that the work has barely been started. The alignment was done (out in Sterling), the body work and detailing are being done as I write this, and the transfer case was overlooked because it was believed to have been taken care of during the first visit. It's hard for me to believe the part about the transfer case because I had been in constant email contact with them since I left the vehicle there, so they knew there was still a problem. To their defense, they did say the transfer case was inspected by an AAMCO station (out in Tyson's) during my first drop off and that no problems were found, and I could see the case had been washed of dirt build up. However, I immediately noticed and informed Koons of a freshly continuing leak from the transfer case. I suspect now that they may be trying to get out of doing any expensive repairs that may be found necessary after diagnosing the transfer case. They washed off the dirt and leaky evidence, told me it was fine, and sent me on my way. Note that I am not criticizing the service department because I was told they only installed the radio and did the state inspection (the only items that actually got done on time). Rather, all the trouble seems to be originating from the used car department and the way they have been handling these repairs. I guess it isn't uncommon for dealerships to farm out repair work to third parties, but so far none of the work has been documented so I can't verify what's been done. However, I can see what hasn't been done. There are alot of details to this story which I am leaving out for sake of brevity, but my whole experience with them (used cars) has been very shady. I have been very polite and patient, but I've gotten no satisfaction up to this point. Overall, the staff is subversive, illusive, and not at all forthcoming when you ask them about the status of things. Talk to three of them and get three different stories (provided they disclose any information at all).Honest, hard-working, wants to earn your business
by betsyw on 10/08/2007We stopped by Koons Arlington Toyota with a terrific offer in hand from another dealership-- I'd been ready to buy, but felt it was worth it to stop by one more dealership just in case. I was astonished when Koons bent over backwards to… beat the deal I had by a significant amount. They quickly realized that I was well-informed and never tried any "sales tactics" with me at all. They treated me with respect, were honest about their costs and what they could do for me, and impressed me with their integrity. I walked out knowing that both sides were happy with the deal: I got exactly the car I wanted at a terrific price, and they've made a customer for life. I definitely will recommend this dealership to my friends and family.Great experience
by marcdc on 02/24/2014updated 06/02/2025I looked at a lot of vehicles and visited several dealerships in my search for a new car. I had far and away the best experience at Koons Arlington Toyota. Everyone I worked with - from the sales team to the financing folk were considerate… and easy to deal with. I never felt pressured and they never played any games with me - unlike other places I dealt with. Very impressed all the way around!Huge Loss on Used Car
by groszd on 10/25/2012updated 06/02/2025I still can't believe what a terrible experience I've had with these people! I spent $15,000 on a 2005 Subaru at Koons in March 2012. 6 months later the car is worth $8,000 AFTER spending an additional $4,000 on unanticipated repairs.… Koons couldn't care less. Just to recap, that's a 53% depreciation on the original price within 6 months. Nevermind the $4k in repairs... Koons will make it very, very easy for you to purchase, but unless you buy their pricey warranty, you're totally on your own. They do NOT stand by the cars they sell. Ken E. sold me a 2005 Subaru Forrester with 60,000 miles in March of 2012. The transaction took HOURS and I was so anxious to leave, we didn't get to warranty info. Mike F. was supposed to follow up with me, but he didn't. 30 days after purchase the sunroof motor broke (a $1,500 fix.) When I went back to tell them about the sunroof, Alex B. offered me a $3,500 warranty. Not thinking the TURBO WOULD FAIL 6 MONTHS LATER, I declined. FYI - Replacing a turbo on a Subaru costs $2,500. When I called Ken to tell him what happened, he said to come on by - they might be willing to buy back the car for whatever they appraised it at (significantly less than what I paid) and would gladly sell me another. He said I should buy a Toyota - THAT, they would stand by. Shameful! Subaru was mortified that a Forrester with 60k miles would have a failed turbo - They've offered me a $500 good faith credit. A final thought... I am clearly not a car person. It takes about 30 seconds of conversation for that to be clear. A knowledgeable sales person would have advised me against buying this car (or any turbo), regardless of the condition of the car. For those who are not savvy or interested in knowing alot about cars, you may wish to buy at another dealer where you'll get better attention and counsel.Good Buying Experience...
by vikadakavi on 09/22/2013updated 06/02/2025Traded my Honda for a Brand New Toyota... Oscar was very helpful and the process went without a hitch... Most of all, no pressure to buy any of the extended warranties and additional items. Whole process was smooth. Definitely will do… business again...Excellent buying experience
by Demetrops on 08/18/2013updated 06/02/2025Use price quoted by Edmunds service to start negotiations. Salesman was excellent (Oscar C.). Whole process was smooth.Bad customer service and bad experience
by puturi on 09/24/2013updated 06/02/2025After seeing an internet price for 2013 Toyota Prius plug-in, I chatted with an internet sales personnel. He told me that the vehicle showing that price was gone but he can offer another stock at the same price after contacting his… mamager. I confirmed him that I do not want to stop at their dealership if he cannot offer the price. But once I got their he said the price now is different and only his manager can say whether he can offer that price. The manager came and he told me that price was valid for only lease option, which they did not tell me. They just wanted me to lure to their dealership, sure shot cheating. They waste my time. I will never recommend this dealer to anyone.
