Never even got to see the car
by llreilly on 01/03/2018I had been in contact with Steeve Francois and expressed interest in a Murano. I spoke with him twice by phone and he said that the vehicle had just been received but that I could look at it. I called thirty minutes before to let him know… we were on our way. When we arrived at 2:45, he said he had to go get the vehicle from another lot. He disappear and was gone for 40 minutes. I called his cell phone and he said, "Oh, they didn't bring it?" We spoke to another employee Greg who also called Steeve and then Greg said he would go get it himself and would be back in ten minutes. Greg never came back either. We left at 4:15 after waiting an hour and a half to look at a car. Mind you, this would have been a cash sale. Very unprofessional and the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Finally! An honest used car dealer!
by grimaldiandson on 12/29/2017This is the fifth car we bought from Nora! The crew treats us fairly and they have been honest about everything in sales and in service. I know lots of people that have bought many cars from these guys and they all say the same… thing. They dont have time to sit around and pretend to be your best friend but you can believe when they tell you which cars are best. The WORST dealership I've been involved with.
by Delion326 on 11/24/2017These bad reviews are definitely true. I got my truck from this place back in April. I wish I had read these reviews first. They make it very obvious that all they care about is getting your money & getting you out. They know they have poor… service and they don't care. They only gave me one key fob & it doesn't work to open the doors. When I called the next day to tell them they tell me that it is my problem, call the dealership. (Thanks a lot Rachel). Their prices are low because they find other shady ways to rip you off. The car I wanted was sold just before I got there, so I got a different one. A call ahead of time would have been nice. The Biggest thing you need to know is, Do not give them a deposit before you have your financing agreed on. They try to get your deposit before you agree on numbers, once they get it they say it is not refundable. To force you to accept what they give you for financing. Get you own financing first before dealing with them. Do not finance through them. They tried to have me pay $550/month for 60 months ($33,000) for a truck that was $11,995. I said " Oh hell no". I am still dealing with only one key & locking my doors by hand. Don't trust them...very shady.. If you think they are friendly with you, they're not. It's the money, the commission, the sale. Once you hand them the deposit they send you upstairs. Just listen to the dramas in the background and you will wonder why am I here doing businessOur top priority is delivering 100% customer satisfaction. We would really appreciate the chance to speak with you regarding this matter. Please contact us at your earliest convenience. We look forward to speaking with you and regaining your trust in our business. Sincerely, The A Better Way Wholesale Autos Team
Wasted my time. Don't know what they have on lot
by tonymorr on 11/17/2017I called the dealership at 12:00 PM and was told that the vehicle on their website was still available. I called again at 1:30 PM and talked to JOHNNY. He was pretty rude right from the start. I told him that I was going to leave work early… to drive 2.5 hours to look at the vehicle. He said I should call before I leave to make sure it was still there. I called at 3 PM to again tell him that I was on my way. He said he would get the vehicle out and ready for a test drive. JOHNNY called me at 4:30 to tell me that he couldn't find the vehicle and that he just found out it was sold. When I reminded him that I left work 2 hours early and had already been on the road for 1.5 hours he was very unapologetic and said I should call his manager to complain. He seemed more upset that he was put out than the fact that he WASTED MY TIME. Very unprofessional and disorganized dealership. That's about the nicest way I can bring myself to put it.On behalf of A Better Way Wholesale Autos Team, we would like to extend our apologies to you for your last visit with us. We strive to ensure an excellent experience and we want to make things right. We would appreciate the opportunity to hear more about what happened and take steps to resolve this situation. Please contact us at your convenience. Sincerely, The A Better Way Wholesale Autos Team
sales guy nice - rest of business is shady
by tmobryant on 10/03/2017My sales man was really very nice. He was honest and took all the time I needed to make a good decision for me. After I completed the evaluation of my experience, in comes the finance guy. My experience went totally down the toilet. The… finance guy, Benjamin was more interested in selling an aftermarket warrantee than letting me sign for the financing. It was all too obvious that he was mad to be losing some commission. He basically told me the car I was buying was worthless without his aftermarket warrantee. This same guy failed to even check to make sure they had clear title to the car. Made me wait 1.5 hours only to learn there was a lien on the car and I could not take it home. No apology was even offered by Benjamin. Here I sit 5 days later, car was delivered but I still cannot drive it because I did not get the plates yet from the dealership. Called financing and I did not get any answers as to the status of the plates. I really hope I did not waste $19,000. It is a darn shame that they charge a mandatory $598.00 for a conveyance fee for every car sold. Essentially, you do not get much for the fee.We are concerned by your review and would love the opportunity to address it for you. Although we are glad you had such a positive experience Your satisfaction is extremely important to our company. Please contact us at your earliest convenience. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, A Better Way Wholesale Autos Team
This place should be called "Better STAY AWAY Auto Sales"
by Mark_38 on 08/06/2017If you're not convinced by all the other poor reviews, then go see this dump for yourselves. It's mind boggling!!! Ive never seen a car dealership this organized and poorly constructed. Think of a flea market ... but for cars. The phone… operators are rushed the inside of the dealership looks like some third world country operation. The "sales" people all look shady. I wouldn't even let them make me a sandwich let alone sell me my next car. Once you get a hold of a sales person, they are dismissive and seem to be very inconvenienced by your presence. When I arrived I had to wait 30 minutes before any sales person could even assist me with my questions. After waiting another hour to show me the car I just turned around and headed for the door. I figured if this is how they treat me before they take my money, it can only get MUCH worse after!!!! All the other reviews are accurate. Geez Louise!!!! What a nightmare!!! Do you remember Matildas father in that movie??? Danny Davito in "Matilda"? Welll, there ya go!! I want to congratulate Mike the manager for putting together such a fine team of [non-permissible content removed] and giving the good people of Naugatuck and the whole state of Connecticut such a terrible reputation. Job well done!!!Hi Mark, customer satisfaction is one of our most important priorities and we are discouraged to learn you left our dealership disappointed. We understand the car-purchasing process may be stressful and time-consuming but our staff is dedicated to making that process as fast and easy as possible. Apparently we have fallen short of those goals on your most recent car-buying experience. Please accept our sincerest apologies! If you would like to discuss this situation further or if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at your convenience. Sincerely, A Better Way Wholesale Autos Team

Terrible
by daveinwillard on 04/24/2017Worked a deal for my friend from Germany who flew in to buy a Mustang and the day he arrived they informed us the car was sold to someone else 4 days prior. I am dumbfounded. Completely unapologetic. Chris in sales dropped the ball at every… opportunity, and TJ, his manager, ended up completely incompetent. Shop here at your own risk. Here's what really happened. This customer from Germany had his friend call to try and work a deal for him. A Better Way Wholesalers explained everything thoroughly and explained to the "friend" that we are an extremely high volume dealership! We sell well over 500 vehicles per month! A lot of out of state customers truly just cant grasp how huge we really are. With that said, It's pretty simple. We are a car dealership, we are in the business to sell cars! Car dealerships sell cars on a first come first serve basis. It's sales 101! If you chose to NOT leave a deposit to secure a vehicle for you that vehicle could sell to the other 50 customers interested in it as well. This is common sense and basic sales. This customer was offered the option to leave a deposit on this vehicle to secure it so that it would be guaranteed to be here by time they decided to come in and again said NO. REFUSED to do so and understood that, that meant that the vehicle could sell at any time and there were NO guarantee's it would still be here when they arrived. They completely understood that. So the vehicle sold, rightfully to a customer who was serious about buying it. Also, absolutely in no way did this customer fly in from Germany! We do not understand the need to tell stories. They DID NOT come into our dealership once! These customers last said they were going to call us back and let us know what they have decided to do. Needless to say we never heard back from them. A Better way wholesalers handled these customers properly.
WHAT A JOKE INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Rdsdj9942 on 03/07/2017This is junk yard not a dealership unpleasant, rude and unprofessional salespersons, nasty and hectic office I can't say nothing about the customer service because they never return or answer my phone call. Come on you guys claim you receive 2016 consumer satisfaction award act like it have some professionals selling you car not some money lazy money hungry [non-permissible content removed] selling your car. I was going to buy 2 cars because of the great price you have but I'll rather spend some more money but have a dealership that appreciates my business. We're discouraged to hear you drove away with a dissatisfying experience at our dealership. Don't waste your time
by Paigemackenzie on 10/29/2016After calling to insure that the vehicle I was interested in was still available, my boyfriend and I drove an hour and a half to test drive it. We waited about an hour for the salesman that we talked with on the phone (Eli). He was too busy… and pushed us off on someone else. We told Chris our new salesman what we were there to see and he informed us that the car we had come to see had sold 2 days prior. This place is so unprofessional and disorganized. Believe me this is not the environment that you want to be in when making a big purchase. Please do not waste your time like we did.Thank you for alerting us of this issue. We are sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. Your feedback regarding your visit with us will be taken into deep consideration so we can identify the areas of our customer service that need improvement. We would like to assure you that we never intend to do anything to upset our customers, however, if you are willing to contact us at your convenience, we would be more than happy to further discuss the issue and move forward in a positive direction. A Lot of time waiting
by Alejo370 on 09/17/2016A buy a murano from there, but i literally had to wait 5 hours over 3 days to get it!! The price was the lowest available, the suv was in perfect condition, but the whole process was tedius and very exhausting. The 2 sales persons were not… giving me their attention, so every step of the sale was very slow.they required me to put a down payment before they could give me the interest rate from the bank and final price, whic is not the normal way to do business. I would not ever come back again!!!Thank you for alerting us to this issue. Our top priority is delivering 100% customer satisfaction, and we are very sorry to hear about your experience. We would really appreciate the chance to speak with you regarding this matter. Please feel free to ask for the manager; we look forward to speaking with you and regaining your trust in our business. "The Customer is NEVER right"
by karmaqueen on 06/28/2016You think you found your dream car? DON"T DO IT! I am so mad that there is no choice for 0 stars...that is the true rating. No matter how the price looks at the beginning...you will regret it! I bought a vehicle here. When I bought it,… the air conditioning was not working, so they supposedly replaced the condenser. My husband noticed that the front axle seal was leaking, the supposedly replaced that. Finally, the exhaust had issues...they supposedly fixed that. Well...just months later, all three problems had to be properly fixed...right down to a new AC compressor.....and...I also had to have the transmission replaced - $6000 in repair totals!!!! I bought the same make of vehicle once before, and had it for 10 years, with no problems at all. They could not care any less about the customer...and they FLAUNT that! They are very proud to treat you poorly. They will address your complaint by mentioning the "volume" they deal in. They will answer to poor reviews,by mentioning "volume". Trust me, DON"T DO IT!. They add so many hidden fees in at the end, the price is not even close to what they are advertising. Their main goal is to [non-permissible content removed] and they are proud of it! Don't forget that! Please...walk away......I'm sorry to hear of your negative experience at our dealership and about any miscommunication that took place. Our main priority is to provide excellent customer service and that includes taking the time to explain all parts of your contract. So that I may be able to better understand the situation at hand, please contact me at your convenience. I would like to do whatever possible to help regain your trust in our dealership. Disrespect and arrogance
by Arold252000 on 03/17/2016I am shocked that a big country like America lets this Auto sales open. These people are disrespectful, arrogant, untruthful, and ready to fight with customers. I was petrified last night with this dealer. I bought a car and I paid cash;… they told me in the phone that the title of the car is available and they will hand it to me as soon as the transaction is closed. After I was finished paying in full, I asked them for the title, they told me that the title was unavailable. When I tried to tell them to give it to me, they were insulting me, saying that they sell 100s of cars a day and they don't need customers. The most shocking surprise is that they were forcing me to sign that they car was clear of all safety issues; when I asked them to give me the mechanic certificate that certifies that the car is clear of safety issues, they told me that they did not have one. The time for the process to be done, it was more than 9 pm because they of course held me for almost 3 hours and I was the only customer left. All of them coerced me to sign the paper and they even frightened me and made it hostile for me. Finally, I had no options, but signed the documents against my will. The Commonwealth of Connecticut has to do something with this dealer. It is very unfair to let a business treat people like that in our America of exceptionalism. What this company is doing is illegal, therefore, the concerned authority should act without delay to cure these damages caused by A Better Way Wholesale Autos and an injunctive relief should be ordered to prevent more harms. It is an illegal practice for a company to coerce customers to sign and affirm that certain things are performed while the company never performed them so that it can escape liability. I am not the only complainer about the wrongfulness of this dealer. I believe it is time for something to be done. I will also complaint to the Commonwealth of Connecticut and to BBB. They acted well till before they took the money in full from me. Right after they took they money from me, they became hostile because it is non-refundable. They even convinced me to leave them a five star review before the transaction was completed and I did because I did not expect that they would end the transaction like that.Nope
by DianeRenault on 01/30/2016I don't appreciate being lied to. Call me crazy. This place should not exist. Rotten business practices.Diane, we are concerned by your review and would love the opportunity to address it for you. We can assure you that the negative details you've mentioned do not reflect our typical business practices nor do they live up to our professional standards. If you would like, please contact us directly at your earliest convenience, so we may further understand the situation and begin to work toward a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you. A worse way car dealership
by Triniman4 on 01/24/2016As a Doctoral business student these [non-permissible content removed] are a textbook example of how not to conduct business. The first thing I advise people to do is go to the CT small claims and civil courts website and view the amount of… cases that these [non-permissible content removed] have against them. I initial purchased a 2005 BMW 745i which was a piece of junk. I took time from my job to travel all the way from New Jersey to CT to take delivery of the car to be told that the company does not have clear title. After unexoectantly staying in CT overnight I hurry back to NJ to teach my class. Upon taking delivery of the car almost a month later all types of warning lights goes off in the car. I call these [non-permissible content removed] and they say bring the junk back. So I trade it for another piece of junk they call aMercedes E350. Upon receipt more problems. I gave away a car that was giving problem to pay money for a car that gave me more problems than my old car. In 60 days they kept the car for 21 days stating that they were working on the problem after renting cars at my expense they failed to correct the problems. I finally had my mechanic to complete the repaid I am in court attempting to be reimbursed by these [non-permissible content removed]. My advise to everyone who reads this review is spend the extra $2000 or $4000 from a reputable dealership. This company baits you with the price bu pt the management will insult your intelligence and you would have the worst headache in your life. I write this review just to warn unsuspecting customers not to follow my path.they don't do safety checks when they say they do!
by skilo0918 on 01/06/2016In august I purchased a 2007 BMW 525xi, aside of many other issues I had and still do, I was told that the car passed the safety check that the state require but when I drove out the dealer the car started to jerk. I called the dealer and… asked to tell them that the car was jerking when I drive so and if the car passed the safety check how they didn't spot that, their response was they might of over looked it. So they rushed the car in and it turned out that one of my cyclenders was misfiring, again I got the car as fixed and when I drove out it did it again so I went back and it turned out that another cycleder was misfiring too so they went ahead and did a full turn up, so after that I just kept finding more problems , I then started having braking noise oafter 5000 miles and when I complian about it they told me that they not required to put good brakes on the car , I also paid for lifetime oil change and then after driving the car I had to put more oil in the car when I was way far from the miles they told me I had to get the next oil change, and then to top it off on December 30 I parked the xcar on a hill and it rolled back and got stuck against another car, there was a main intersection down the here where a city bus was unloading people even the police said that if the car that my car stuck on wasn't there this could of been fatel. The next day I went to the dealer to tell him what happen and to see if he was willing to make it right and he told us that it wasn't his problem even when I told him I could of killed people he said that wasn't his problem. My fiance asked twice if he will sale a car with problems and he went around the subject but on the third time she ask him if he knows if the car has transmission problems would he still sale the car and in front of everybody he said yes, he said that they don't check these cars when they get them but then they tell people that the car pass the state safety check.after this problem I did my research and this problem has happen to a lot of people, people these car are not safe even though they tell you that the car passes the safety check , I do believe they don't do the safety checks on these cars and write them off as they do and they charge you full price for those cars, they are going to get someone hurt or killed by saleing bad cars and the manager mike has a nasty attitude and what he is doing is not right and needs to be stopped, the BBC has a lot of complaint s about bad saling practices and don't understand how they still doing, maybe its going to have to take someone dying for something to happen. People be safe and go elsewhere. We are concerned by your review and would love the opportunity to address it for you. It is always our goal to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and it comes with great disappointment when we fall short with our guests. We can assure you that poor customer service is not how we intend to conduct business which is why we would like to get in touch with you. HORRIBLE Service and unsafe vehicles
by villar716 on 01/01/2016I purchased a vehicle in Aug 2015 and on December 30th 2015 I park my car on a hill, car off and emergency break on and car rolls down a hill and hits another vehicle. I was at risk of injuring 3 people because of thus and to find out I was… sold a car with transmission issues. I go to a better way on December 31st 2015 and spoke with the General Manager which stated he was not responsible since I purchased an as is vehicle. Due to the fact that I had purchased my 1st car there and got into an accident car was a total loss which resulted me in purchasing another vehicle. I asked him to clarify a question to me which was " would you sell a vehicle with mechanical problems, meaning transmission issues and he clearly stated that would not be his problem due to the fact that it is an as is car. That is not the way to do business. If you want a good reputation you should sell reliable car with honesty not sell cars to make a buck regardless who's life you out at risk. I am taking this matter to the extreme and hoping my story will be heard and this company doesn't get anyone's life at risk. I suggest you make sure what you purchase and if you can afford to spend a little more than what they are selling there cars then I would do that. Like they say you get what you pay for and that is what this company is about. After purchasing thus car I noticed the car had issue's after driving out and returned back and the car had to stay at the site for parts to be fixed and to this day the issues are still there. This accident will not nky cost me the total amount of my loan but also cost me repair expense. We are discouraged for the inconvenience caused with regards to your vehicle purchase with us. That is not how we intend to do business. We would like the opportunity to discuss the situation with you further and make things right. We can assure you that we are committed to resolve this issue at the earliest. Please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience. We look forward to hearing from you.
