Great experience!
ford of kirkland, best dealer experience
by mnewcombe on 11/14/2014Exemplary. Friendly, helpful, no nonsense. Wonderful!Great overall experience!!!
by DJudge26 on 09/09/2014Very low pressure. Justin was patient and offered a number of different vehicles for us to consider. Allowed us the time to talk about the purchase between ourselves. Very knowledgeable about the product featuresGreat sales experience
by Loopus on 07/30/2014I received a great no pressure sales experience from Rick B. We both struggled with the Internet Special advertisement because the car was at an alternate lot. When we got to the lot the advertised car was boxed into the lot by other cars… and the keys were hard to find for the sales person. He worked hard to get things straight, but should the advertised special be at the main store? My suggestion would be to call ahead and tell them what you want to look at and test drive, then they can have it ready when you get there.2014 Hyundai Elantra Purchase
by micanic2305 on 07/17/2014It was great. Keith was very helpful! There was no pressure to buy. The purchase process was fast and easy. My fiance is incredibly happy with her car.Great Service from Kevin
by dave307 on 08/24/2010I bought my car from Harris Ford and, quite frankly, they will never see me again. I had my 5000 mile servicing today and the experience was great across the board. Friendly, fast, professional and comfortable. Kevin even told me there… was no need to go for the more expensive oil. Its nice to have a dealer not jam his hand deeper into my pocket.Very pleasant experience, both initial sale and follow-up service
by cohenjor on 08/22/2010I purchased a new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid almost exactly a year ago from this dealership. The salesman (Stephen Skullerud) was extremely friendly and helpful, and worked with me to get a fantastic price and financing rate through my… employer. He was fairly new to the job at the time, so he didn't know everything about the car when I test drove it, but he diligently followed-up on all questions I asked through both phone and e-mail. I've since come back to perform service on the car, and in this case worked with Kevin Paddock. Nothing particularly interesting about this visit, but Kevin kept me informed and the whole visit cost me nothing since it was my first visit. A minor problem with the steering wheel buttons was also quickly corrected.Happily Surprised
by uprdkr on 08/11/2010I bought my 2001 Explorer used and the previous owner maintained it very well. He suggested that I continue the service through Ford of Kirkland. I was a bit wary of having my car serviced by the dealer due to passed experiences with… another dealership. I decided to follow his suggestion and for the first service I took the Explorer in to Ford of Kirkland. I was very surprised by the pleasant service and quality of work. Jim Cox is the best! Always helpful, extremely nice and very helpful. If you have any reservation about going to the dealership for service start with Jim Cox at Ford of Kirkland, you will be well taken care of.Always a pleasure
by dribera on 08/10/2010I have had some pretty bad experiences in my life with mechanics and auto service in general. But for the last five years or so I have been very happy with my experience with the service team at Ford of Kirkland. My thanks goes out to… Kevin for his consistent communication, clear explanations, and valuable advice. When I drive away I'm always confident that the service has been done well, and my car has been carefully inspected for safety and future maintenance needs. Thanks for keeping my car running well.'99 Ranger service w/Kevin
by jonowilly on 08/03/2010I own a '99 Ford Ranger which I purchased new. It has been a great reliable vehicle and had over 100K miles when I passed it along to my son when he started drive in 2008. When it had a problem a few years later I was tied up with… business so I sent my wife and son in to Kevin Paddock at Ford of Kirkland to have it looked into and repaired. I trusted Kevin as I knew he would take care of my family and do what was right at a reasonable price the first time. As time has gone along and I've needed any work done on it I send it in to Kevin and Ford of Kirkland. The truck still runs great and as my son goes off to college it will be passed on to his sister who just got her license.Beware Low Quality Service
by chriselmo on 08/16/2009This is the first review I've ever written and I've had plenty of bad experiences, but never one as bad as this. My experience first started when I decided to surprise my wife with a car. I went to the lot and found a 2002 Escort ZX2… for a pretty good price. The sales and finance department was great. They tried to make the process nice and fast so my wife wouldn't have any idea I was buying her a car. When I brought it home everything went perfect and my wife loved it. The next day everything went downhill. The next morning I noticed the emergency brake, the passenger side electric mirror was not working and it was leaking some fluid. I went back to the dealership and talked to Bruce. He was very nice and offered to have the service dept fix it free of charge, which I accepted. When I got the car back I tried out the emergency brake and it still did not work. I also received one more surprise! The Passenger side electric window no longer worked. When I confronted the Service Manager, he tried to get me to believe that it was normal for it to roll with the emergency brake on and in neutral. He even tried convincing me that the problem with the window was because it was a 2002 and they had nothing to do with it. He wouldn't even take a quick look at it and I was forced to bring it back the next day. The night before I brought it back in the car alarm started going off at random times when no one or nothing was close to it. When I went in the next morning. The Service Manager got in, tested the emergency brake, and admitted it didn't work. I ended up leaving the car there for 3 days, before it was repaired. The car still had a very minor Transmition, but since every repair seemed to take a minimum of 2+ visits, them not inspecting the repairs afterward, and the very rude Service techs. It just wasnt worth going back in. The first month of owning the car, the service dept hard it for over half of it. Every time I bring it in and it has a multipoint inspection and everything seems to check out, but they seem to miss some very noticeable problems (leak, mirror, ebrake, loud metal on metal sound, and alarm). So I decided take a break from dealing with the service dept and to return once my stress has had a chance to settle. It is still an ongoing issue and I will continue updating as my visits continue.Deceptive Advertising Wasted My Time
by sellmeacar on 05/15/2009This dealer ran an ad over Mother's day weekend that prompted me to drive 40 minutes with the expectation of getting a good deal on a Focus. The ad had a new 09 Focus selling for 8975. In the same box as the picture of the car was a star… with "Over 100 in stock". This led me to believe that they were selling at least 100 similarly equipped cars for the price. Imagine my surprise and frustration when I drove to Kirkland on Monday evening and was told that they had only one at that price and that it had been sold on Friday. Yes, there in the lower right corner of the ad was a partial vin #. Nowhere in the ad's fine print, though, was there anything saying "one only at this price" or "this stock # only". Should I have known there was only one? Maybe, but since I've always bought used cars before I wasn't prepared for this level of deception. I've since looked at other new car ads and see that most dealers make it much clearer. Lesson learned on my part but I still wonder how many people showed up for the teaser price and walked away swearing under their breath.Fantastic Experience at Ford of Kirkland
by mmoore2 on 01/02/2009I purchased an SUV through Ford of Kirkland and could not have had a better experience! It was my first time buying a car from a dealership and was worried about pressure, being bamboozled or any number of nightmare experiences I have heard… about- all my fears dissapeared as soon as I stepped on the lot. I dealt with both the used car sales manager as well as a sales person. Both could not have been more helpful on the phone and in person. It took me over a week to make a decision and I never felt rushed or pressured at all. When I inquired about other cars/suv's I was interested in that they did not have, they called all around the Northwest (dealerships, used car places etc. to help track other vehicles down). I also financed through them and it was a seamless process as well. When I picked up my car it was spotless and full of a tank a gas! I was impressed and feel very comfortable recommending them to family and friends!Good sales, extremely disappointing delivery
by jbrenneman on 11/26/2008I recently bought a used Honda Accord from this dealership and while I was quite happy with sales and dealmaking, I was extremely diappointed with the final delivery of the vehicle. I feel like once the deal was made, they just wanted the… car off the lot as quickly as possible. The used car sales manager complained that he was already losing money on the deal and so apparently was unable to honor the committment to do a nice detail on the car. I specifically agreed to come up in price because this detail job was touted as excellent, but now feel that this was just a false promise to rook me into paying another hundred bucks for the car. I had specifically asked that the Detail tech look at three things: 1) Seatback pockets had garbage, dirt and goo in them, 2) Passenger window had a sticky smudge, & 3) rear seat cupholder folddown needed cleaning. The only one of these done well was #3. The tech did a half-hearted job cleaning out seatback pocket and on the smudge, instead of taking care or just saying there was nothing he could do, he quite obviously took a razor blade (or some other sharp scraping instrument) to the window and absolutely scratched the bejeezes out of the tint. To my mind the term "detail" means taking care to look at every doorwell, pocket, crease, the trunk, dash, etc. This wasn't done and in addition I now need the front passenger window re-tinted. Its disappointing that the detail was done poorly, but what has driven me to write this review is that rather than step up and take responsibility, the dealership is saying they won't pay to have tint on this window redone since they can't confirm they did this....so basically I've got to eat another $50-100 bucks for the damage they caused to my car. I can understand that since I drove the car off the lot before recognizing the issue was there they cannot prove they did it, but its fairly obvious. My solution to this was to call the used car Sales Manager, Erik and suggest he simply ask the detail tech how the window smudge was addressed. He stated he was too busy at the time to check but stated he would check and call me back. So, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and guess what? No call back. The delivery of the vehicle was just so poor, I'm surprised that this is what service has fallen to in these tough times. My recommendation: Go (and send your friends) somewhere else... These guys WON'T make it right... Glad to give more details: [violative content deleted]Never buy a car at Ford of Kirkland!
by ktfender7 on 11/03/2008In May of 2008, I regrettably purchased a 2008 Ford Edge from Ford of Kirkland. The choice of vehicle is not the regretted issue, the dealership is. We were talked into buying what is called the Northwest Protection Package for $795.… (Certainly, we should have known better). This package was stated to include a protective coating for the exterior paint, interior leather and fabric protection. We had this package applied to the car a couple weeks after the purchase. My husband was appalled with the terrible job they had done. The car had not been buffed out and appeared as though someone had walked out in the middle of the job. In addition, there were a row of scratches that were on the car that were NOT on the car when it was brought in. When these two issues were brought to their attention, the head person with the contracted in Detailing company agreed that it was a poor job. It was promised that the scratches would be taken care of when I brought the car back in. The total work done in this package was completed in a matter of a couple of hours and was worth a small fraction of what we paid. I received a comment card from Ford regarding the Northwest Package which I gave the lowest possible rating. (I never heard back from anyone on this.) Later I find out from the sales manager that I was not suppose to have been sold the Northwest Package with its' questionable undercoating and that the person who sold me that car had been let go. There still lied the issue of the scratches that happened to the care while receiving this NW package treatment. I was told by sales manager, Greg Hartshorne, that Ford of Kirkland was going to make things right by having my car re-detailed and every attempt would be made to buff out the scratches. I was told that they would have the car for the day and set me up with a free rental. When I brought the car in for this promise, the fix was demoted to a car wash when relayed to the detail worker and I wouldn't need a rental car. I insisted that the promise of the detail be followed through along with the rental so I could return to work. Oddly enough, they sent me home with a car that had been sold and when I returned to work, I was called to bring the rental car back as the buyer was at the dealership to pick up their car! The caveat of this whole debacle was the financing. On the recommendation of Ford of Kirkland, I set up the purchase of the car with their finance program AmeriCredit. I was guaranteed no hidden fees, early pay off or otherwise, if I were to pay the loan off prior to the first payment due date. The full amount of the loan was paid the day I received the payoff address; two weeks prior to the first payment date. Within a month, I received another bill for $400 from AmeriCredit as set up fee for the loan. I contacted Ford of Kirkland to dispute this as I was promised no fees of any kind would incur with early payoff. (If you have any experience with AmeriCredit, you are aware of there daily harassment hence I had no other option but to pay the $408.) Mr. Wallie Ballie played me for a fool as he mislead me for several months that the dealership would take care of this matter and reimburse me for this bogus fee. After nearly twenty fake promises that this matter was being taken care of, Mr. Ballie left a phone message stating that Ford of Kirkland had changed their minds and would not be honoring their promise. If anyone is even thinking about buying a car at Ford of Kirkland, DO NOT!Ford of Kirkland wrote on 12/5/2008 4:01:00 PM: Ford of Kirkland wrote on 11/26/2008 6:46:19 PM: Hi Kathleen. I'm terribly sorry that you had a bad experience at our store. We try hard to do a good job and it looks like in this case, we just didn't. I was able to confirm with Americredit that the $408 due was just interest, no pre-payment penalty. That's about all the good news. As I understand it, we did address the issues with the scratches and the sealant. Is there something more I can do to help? Amy Walen Ford of Kirkland wrote on 12/9/2008 7:37:24 PM: Hi Kathleen. Often, the first payment won't be due for 45 days from the date of purchase. Although the payment wasn't due, interest was still accruing. We did confirm with Americredit that no pre-payment penalty was assessed, that the $408 was interest only. Amy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Despite my efforts, Ms. Fender is very unsatisfied with our business, and has been unwilling to deal directly with me to resolve her concerns. Our Mr. Bailey spoke with her on several occasions to resolve her concerns. He is a truly good man, who tries very hard to keep our customer service commitment. Ms. Fender also worked with James Kelly, our detail manager. I have known James since 1999. He has been working in the automotive detail business since he was 17 years old. He is a kind, compassionate person, and I have his word that he worked diligently to resolve the issues that Ms. Fender had with his work. We had lengthy discussions with Americredit about the financing issue. The content of those conversations is above. We realize that we are the experts when it comes to automotive financing, and we do our very best to advise our customers on their financing needs - usually we will recommend the shortest possible term, and we will choose financing that will maximize our customer's eligibility for rebates - but often their payment limitations or credit score will limit choices. I have reviewed Ms. Fender's file and found that she dealt with our Finance Director, Mr. Kyle Joswick. Again, Mr. Joswick is an experienced finance manager, but also a family man who truly cares about his customers. We can only improve our processes by receiving and responding to input from our customers. In this case, after my work with Ms. Fender and the review of our team member's work, I think that we have done our very best.
Jose V. @ Ford of Kirkland
by sthompson19 on 06/04/2014updated 05/25/2025Our experience at Ford of Kirkland was great! Jose V. was so helpful in answer our question and making us feel at ease. For our first car buying experience I would have to rate Jose a 10 out if 10. Thank Jose for being honest with us about… what we were getting and for being the complete opposite of other dealers/dealerships out there!I would recommend Jose to all of my friends and family!! My boyfriend and I love, our 2014 Ford Fusion!! Thanks again!!Love this place!
by jeffj4 on 05/25/2013updated 05/25/2025I bought a C-Max Energi from here, and traveled all the way from Spokane to do it because the local dealers weren't "EV Certified." I'm glad I did it. Samuel gave me a great price for a custom order and updated me throughout the… process. I'd definitely recommend this place.Avoid if you don't like wasting time
by g_luv on 12/10/2013updated 05/25/2025I attempted to lease a new 2014 Focus BEV form Ford of Kirkland (FOK). I began the process in late October. There were no vehicles on the lot that met my specifications so we decided to order one directly from Ford Motor Co. The process was… to take about 2 months which I was fine with since I was not in a real rush to get the car and wanted to get the one that I really wanted. Initially the sales associate, Michael, was great. He was very helpful during the test drive and informational portion of the sale. He was also very confident that I could get the vehicle for the price I expected - $300/month. I knew it was not unreasonable since a friend of mine had just recently leased the same car (2013 model) from another local Ford dealer. The salesman did not want to talk specifics on price until we got into the month of the actual expected purchase due to changing incentives on the vehicle. While I understood this I was not entirely comfortable not know how much I would be paying for the vehicle that I had selected. After a month passed and it was December I thought we would be able to talk about price. This is where the problems began. Michael was now telling me the car would be 375/month which was 25% more per month than I expected and what we had loosely agreed upon as a realistic price a month ago. After going back in forth in e-mail about price he conceded that he could not get a better deal for me on the vehicle. We agreed to cancel the order and I moved on to trying to lease the vehicle from other dealers. Eventually I used the Costco vehicle purchase program to locate a new dealer. It actually sent me right back to FOK but with a different salesman, Dan. Dan was able to find a 2014 on the lot that met my specifications (the only difference between this one and the one I orders was that it was grey instead of black). This was acceptable to me. When we discussed price, in e-mail, he was able to start at 332/month. This included a $500 discount from Costco which equates to about a $13/month savings over a 36 month lease. This was better but still more than I wanted to pay. Through further e-mails I was able to get Dan to say we might be able to get to $305/month. This was very close to my original desired price but left me wondering even more about how much the first salesman was really trying to rip me off. $70 over a 36 month lease is over $2,500 I never finalized on the $305 at FOK because I was able to get the car for $298 from Bowen Scarff Ford (with additional upgraded paint job). Also I really couldnt trust what was going on there at FOK since one salesman could work the price differently than another. Bottom line is I would avoid working with Michael in sales at Ford of Kirkland.Poor Sales Experience
by mms34 on 03/27/2014updated 05/25/2025We recently purchased 2 new 2014 Fiesta Titanium's from ANOTHER Ford dealer because Ford of Kirkland would not get us the Fiesta Titanium color we wanted for the same price as their advertised black Titanium. They came back and said it… would cost us more since the car we wanted was not in their inventory. We went to ANOTHER Ford dealership and they matched the Kirkland Ford 2014 Black Fiesta Titanium price. We liked the car so much that we bought another 2014 Fiesta Titanium from Harris Ford and they had to get it from another dealer since it was not on their lot and it did not cost us extra. My recommendation is to contact Brett at Harris Ford and forget Ford of Kirkland.Straight-forward and fast
by creativeguy2 on 04/03/2014updated 05/25/2025These guys rock! I called Chris, the Sales Manager and told him what I was looking for. He had what I wanted on the lot. I came, I saw, I test-drove and made a reasonable offer. They accepted without the usual haggle/hassle crap. I told… them I neede to get out fast and they made it happen (less than an hour). THEN I discovered AFTER I made the deal that the car had a big ugly scrape on the fender. They could have said 'too bad' but Chris said he'd take care of me. They DELIVERED the car the next day to my house with a perfectly repainted fender. Awesome! My new Escape
by abc67513 on 05/01/2013updated 05/25/2025Bought my new Escape from FOK. Great car even greater company. You can feel confident about buying your next car from FOK because they will do the right thing the first time and you'll get a great dealGood experince
by BBB29 on 05/07/2014updated 05/25/2025We recently purchased a 2014 Hyundai Tucson from Hyundai of Kirkland and found it to be a simple, quick, straight forward experience the lowest prices we found in the area. Catherine along with everyone we dealt with was very friendly and… helpful and saw that all of our needs and concerns were met.
Follow up to my earlier post: The customer service ethic survives at Ford of Kirkland! After reading my description of the issues (above), both Jim and Amy Walen, owners of Ford of Kirkland, have contacted me and gone out of their way to make things right. I am both impressed and satisfied as a sense of fairness now seems to be restored to this transaction. It was agreed that in this day and age of flagging car sales, it behooves the dealer to follow through not just on the sale but on the delivery of a purchased car. Jim and Amy both recognize this and are correcting the issue for me in a most satisfactory manner.
