by hinano on 01/11/2008I bought a new accord here. After I get passed through tough sales, I find service department is very helpful. They should come clear with the sales so they can be the better dealer.they totally screwed me.buyers beware of lute riley
by vipinkatangur on 11/08/2007i took a car at lute riley.they delivered my choice of colour for the date which they promised but first the finance guy offered me 11.50% interest rate and when i went back after one week he told because it will be 12.99% because the 11.50… is only if signed the paperwork on that particular day. i was totally pissed off but i have to take the car because i paid 3000 deposit on the car and the second thing was wrong vin number on the paperwork.the compensation they paid me for that whole mess is just a tank full of gas. and the last thing but the big thing which screwed me a lot was the sales guy offered some protection pacakage.i told that i don't need that but at last he offered me that all together i will do that for 21,300.he said that also includes the pacakage.but after one week i recognised that the protection package was not installed on the car.so i called him and he told to come in and see him.when i went to lute riley honda they said if got paperwork for that as WE OWE YOU. and they told i need to pay money for that.how can i pay money if i was already charged for that in the car price. so buyers be careful before buying car with lute riley honda.Dealership can't keep their promise...Buyers Beware!!!!!
by dpryor on 10/14/2007I was quoted a price over the phone for a used Honda Element that my wife and I had previously looked at. I was told that they would give me the price if I was serious and would buy it that night. (Note that the salesman got the manager's… approval before agreeing to my offer.) I told the salesman I was serious and would make the long journey to their dealership. I get there, drive the vehicle, look it over, read the Car Fax report and state that I'm ready to buy. While I'm filling out the financing forms, the salesman tells me that the price will be $500 higher than what was originally agreed. I said that was not acceptable and that we had agreed to a price. He goes to the manager to let them know that we were only going to buy at the original price. The manager comes out and tells my wife and I that they can't sell it for this price. I told him this was a sorry way to do business. Promise a customer one price, and then jack it up when they're ready to buy. Needless to say, I had to walk out very angry. I drove a long way for nothing. I promised myself that I will never set foot in the Lute Riley dealership again. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!As I returned to work on Monday, the salesman from Lute Riley called me and offered a very generous compromise price. I asked to get it in writing as I was not about to make another trip to their dealership to get the shaft again. They faxed me the offer that was signed by the salesman and the manager. To make a long story short, I bought the vehicle. While I can't totally forget the first experience with them where they didn't hold their promise on price, I must respect their effort at making an amends. BTW: The salesman (Michael Redd) did an outstanding job of working with me through all of this. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a Honda.
I too had to sign multiple finance agreements-coinceidence?
by smccaffery on 09/22/2007Coincidence or an accepted sales practice? See other reviews here. The finance/insurance manager I too was told was in training after I caught him adding products and costs to my Finance agreement that I had already turned down or wasn't… even offered at any point. I bot an ACCORD in May '07 at LR. The salesman and manager were ok, at least professional. The business/finance manager added 2 items to my finance agreement which I did not agree to and one of them he told me I was getting for free but he had to show it someplace! After I made him remove the window eteching, listed in the finance agreement as OTHER, (and never even mentioned until that point) and the Tire Insurance, which he was giving to me for free, my payment was reduced by $30 per month. I will be clear that he never offered the tire insurance for free, he just asked me if it would be ok to just give me the insurance. I made it perfectly clear that I did not want to be paying for it, if it was free that was fine. I thought he was trying to make amends for the badgering he was doing. I understand part of sales is a presentation to get you to want to buy something, but if a customer says no thank you you MUST respect that.Nothing like car buying is supposed to be, it was great!
by wildthing1 on 08/21/2007I recently visited this dealership to purchase my new 2007 Honda CR-V. I had looked everywhere in the metroplex to find that no one had the inventory and no one seemed to want to help me get what I wanted. I went to Lute Riley expecting the… same treatment I'd received everywhere else. Much to my suprise my salesperson greeted me immediately and showed me to a huge selection of Honda CR-V's. Later I was introduced to the sales manager, he just wanted to thank me for visiting and doing business with them! The business manager was very courteous and really helpful. This was easily the best purchase experience I've ever had. The inventory was huge, the staff was proffessional and low pressure. I will be buying many cars from Lute Riley Honda.Love the Car, Dislike the Dealership
by accelerator on 08/15/2007My experience with Lute Riley was above average. I know ahead of time a car dealership is going to attempt to add on options. They are a business and as a business want to make money. Luckily, the S2000 does not have too many options to… add on so it is easy to catch a number that shouldn't be there. The salesperson didn't know squat about the car. I was actually his first test drive and was explaining some of the features about the car to him. My only real complaint is they are to touch up a scratch that occurred in the storage garage which they haven't done yet. Also, and I had to sign my financial paperwork 3 times due to mistakes made by the finance manager (in their defense, he was in training). This has me a bit leery but I think it all worked out okay. I got copies over everything. I would purchase from there again ONLY if I was prepared and informed. If I had just walked in off the street, I would have paid considerably more.Accelerator, As the Customer Relations Manager for Lute Riley, I'm glad you found your experience above average. Of course we're always aiming higher than that. In this case it looks like we fell well short of your expectations and I apologize. Your feedback, however, has given me an opportunity to improve my sales force--in this case, retraining on S2000 product knowledge! I will also be sharing your comments with my Finance and Insurance Director. If there are any outstanding issues I can help resolve (I believe you mentioned a scratch) please give me a call at the main dealership number and ask for "Bill". Happy to help with anything I can. Even when a company has a 96% YTD Customer Satisfaction Index, mistakes happen. Particularly when we sell over 4000 new cars a year! We'd like the opportunity to make it up to you. And I hope you enjoy that new S2000. It's a fabulous car! Thanks! Bill
The Worst Ever Dealership I have ever Visited!!!!!!!11
by sam112233 on 08/13/2007This was my first ever New Car purchase. I did much research on the Honda Accord 2007 model. I was desperate to buy it. So I went to the dealership with quotes from two other dealers. After talking to the sales person they bring the Sales… manager to compare the quotes. He discussed the price and options kindly. In case of an job emergency I had to leave the dealership with Drive Out Price about $25600 After two days I went to the dealership again but I could not find the same salesmanager As I met the other day. Now they will tell me the different price as $27600 drive out for the same vehicle and trim. I told them about the other manager. They say they cannot give me this deal. This delership now put the Dealership Options mandatory to buy as they will put Stripes($15 to $25Market Price) Wheel Locks($45 to $65market price) sunroof wisor($100 to $150market price) they will charge around $295 for each options. You must have to pay more than $1200 for the options you dont want. Thenafter I show the 2007 Honda Clearance sale advertisement On Local Networks. I went again to the dealership with confidance that I would bring home the car today. They were also participated in Honda Clearance Sale . I asked about the Honda Accord EX-L with Nav. they quoted me around $27600. I asked them they quoted me $25600 drive out price last time when there was no clearance. The sales person says it is just gimmicks to attract the customers. I was so much disappointed. Because this was my third visit to the same dealership and I dint buy the car so the sales person in the office dint like it. They thought I had to buy any car today.I dint buy any car from them. I would never visit this dealership again in future. And Would suggest the wise customers not to visit this dealership at all.Sam, As the Customer Relations Manager at Lute Riley I want to apologize for your bad experience at our store. It's our intent and committment to give every guest who walks through the door a "WOW" experience. In your case, it looks like we let you down. In fact, your description of your experience was so bad, I did some research hoping to uncover flaws in our process that we might be able to correct. Since I do not know any names in this situation it's difficult to address the actual specifics of your experience. But from the figures you quoted it looks like you were interested in the Accord EXL V6 Navi (I know it's not the 4-cylinder model because it's MSRP is about the same as the drive-out price you quoted--no deal there!). Working backward from the drive-out price you were offered--$27,600, subtracting $200 for title and license fees, and 6.25% sales tax I get our offered selling price on the vehicle: roughly $26,000. That price is $1200 under the invoice price of $27,200 (according to Edmunds), and $1400 under the TMV of $27,400! And that price, of course, included all the extra equipment that we added to the car. Even during the Honda Clearance, that's a great price. As you can see, Sam, we really did want your business. As to that earlier number--I have to think there was a misunderstanding. If you were indeed mislead, I apologize. The way we became the #1 Honda Dealer in Texas was by taking great care of our customers and offering them great deals. It looks like in your case we missed on the first--but no one can say we didn't offer you a fantastic car deal--on a fantastic car! We wish you luck in your car shopping and hope you get and enjoy a new Honda! Bill
Mr.Bill, The car I talked about was HONDA ACCORD EX-L WITH NAVIGATION AND DRIVE OUT PRICE WAS $25600.00 BEFORE THE CLEARANCE AND IN CLEARANCE YOU GOT $800 TO $1200 OFF FROM THE HONDA CORP. ITSELF. I am still in the market for Honda Accord. You should teach your sales associates how to behave with the customers. The car and the Honda corporation itself is one of the best brands. Even you says your dealership is the #1. But it still lacks much of basic things. I hope you will take care of it. Thanks for replying to comments. Sam P.S. Recently I called and asked the Honda Accord 2008 prices; they said If you interested in buying this car you have to pay $3000 over the MSRP.The same call I made to your competetion and they would not charge me anything over the MSRP. What you say?
HASSLE FREE - BEST PRICE - THANK YOU!
by md_j on 08/31/2012updated 06/20/2025WOW !! Thats all I can say. Hassle FREE car buying experience. I just brought home a NEW 2012 EX HONDA CRV from this dealership. HARRISON DO & JAVED went above & beyond to get me the car I want. No dirty sales tactics, straight to the… point, not pushy. Dealing with HARRISON just thru phone & text messaging, and he gave me THE BEST price compare to other Honda dealerships within 40 miles of DFW area. Some dealers gave me lower price just to lure me in. But when I showed up at their door, they jacked the price and did not honor their offers. Harrison was busy with a customer when I went in, so he appointed JAVED to show me the car I want. There were 3 different colors of CRV that we were interested in. And they were located in 3 different lots within about 2 miles radius. JAVED patiently took us to all 3 locations to show the car. It took me & my wife about 40 minutes to decide the color we wanted. After that, Javed took us back to main office & complete the paper works with Harrison with the price we agreed upon on the phone (no more haggling & wasting time here). It took him just about 15 minutes to complete this process. Then he sent us to Jeremy in accounting/billing. JEREMY offered me an extended warranty just ONCE, and when I said No Thanks, he immediately proceed processing my payment, and finished in just 10 minutes! I'm happy with my new car & also the whole experience during this buying process. I HIGHLY recommend people to go to LUTE RILEY HONDA, especially dealing with HARRISON & JAVED. THANKS GUYS! YOU MADE MY MONEY WORTH SPENDING!Best experience
by michelle106 on 11/26/2013updated 06/20/2025Hello, I went car shopping at lute raily honda last Saturday to look for a new and used vehicle. were greeted by Paul K. who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars there. I… must say that this was my best car shopping experience ever. The salesman was very informative and he was answering very question of ours patiently. Nowadays, it commonly seen that car salesmen just dont do enough good job and their only objective is to get money out of your wallet. But, Paul K. delivers an incredible service and gives a very pleasant experience. We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead.the new owner is king...but
by yiven421 on 06/12/2013updated 06/20/2025This is a good place to buy a new Honda, but when I asked to check the transmission...they charged me $115 first to check and then they concluded that"yes, your transmission doesn't work well, it's $5400 if you want a new transmission."… [non-permissible content removed]! I paid $100 cuz I want to know what the problem of transmission in detail, not only"transmission needs repaired"!!!!!! by blw3 on 02/17/2014updated 06/20/2025Shawn K. was helpful and made sure I was taken care of. I could not have asked for a better experience purchasing a car. He made sure I understood the process and what I was buying.Don't trust this company!
by shawnyin on 08/21/2013updated 06/20/2025I live in Richardson/Garland area and been visited this dealership 2-3 times over years. At my first visit, their sales and I reached an price agreement and I told I'll be back next day with my wife - going to be her car. By the time I went… back, they changed their mind, they want more.. I walked away, of course. And, I got the similar type of car from other dealership for the same price. After that experience, I just went there checking the car and buy from other dealership.shawnyin, We appreciate you letting us know about the incident. Unfortunately different factors come into play during the sales process that make it not so cut and dry. That being said we always attempt to be as straightforward as possible during a sale. We would like to speak with you directly to get to get some more details on this particular incident. Please contact John Butler at John.Butler@luterileyhonda.com or (800) 749-5537 at your nearest convenience. We look forward to speaking with you.

by ruben16 on 04/27/2013updated 06/20/2025Today, I just bought a certified used car from Honda Lute Riley. Initially I was hesitant going to a dealership knowing that it will be a hard and strenuous experience with all the haggling, negotiations, etc. To my surprise, this has been… a good experience. Thanks to the salesperson who took good care of us Shawn K. He is a veteran in this business and he is very knowledgeable in what he is doing. He has been very courteous since the beginning and he has been very honest and upfront with all the details. No gimmicks, just honest to goodness well service and taking care of the customer. Thanks Shawn for making our experience of buying a car a flawless and smooth one. To those who plan to buy a car in Lute Riley. Shawn is the salesperson you should look for ! - Ruben & LeaBUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
by papamerrill on 09/15/2013updated 06/20/2025Went to Lute Riley today to buy used certified Honda and found many to choose from. The low prices listed are below most dealers. Now here is the best news. Comes with a 1 year bumper to bumper but for 845.00 dollars extends it to a 7 year,… 100,000 mile bumper to bumper. I average 8000 miles a year and got a 2010 EX Accord with 34,000 miles for 16500. This car will not cost me a nickel for the next 7 years plus I get a free loaner. Any one who does not go to Lute Riley to at least look deserves to get screwed buying a car. Also picked up a used truck for my grandson for his 16th birthday. Thanks Ken, David, Brian and the entire staff at Lute Riley Honda.Ricky Bobby Rocks!
by carrie_l on 04/22/2014updated 06/20/2025I'm pretty sure the Universe sent us to buy 2 cars from "Ricky Bobby". There was no haggling (as if that is really a thing anymore), and he streamlined the process as much as he possibly could. Having done my homework before we got to the… dealership (which is a truecar.com dealership), the asking price was $3,000 below MSRP and rather than receive a gift card (seasonal promotion) we had the equivalent taken off our total for an additional $400 off. I swear, it really is that easy. And if that was not enough both the accessory associate and the business manager did not try to pressure us into extras (other than the ones we asked for). In fact, the business office suggested I not get the 7 year warranty because I drive more than 3,000 miles every 3 months, and the time would run out. I was simply blown away.Service Dept is disreputable and dishonest, BEWARE!
by gep2 on 05/20/2014updated 06/20/2025Several years ago, my Accord's engine overheated and I took it to Lute Riley and paid them several thousand dollars for (supposedly) a complete engine rebuild After several years and numerous trips back, it's become increasingly obvious… that either they didn't do the rebuild they claimed they did (and this is what my other Honda mechanic tells me) or else they did the work badly. After numerous trips back to Lute Riley (when for example they claimed the reason just one cylinder was misfiring and fouling the plug was because I needed a carburetor rebuild... which of course wouldn't cause that on just one cylinder). I let them do the rebuild, about $700, but of course that didn't fix the real problem, and their mechanic even noted on the service note that "this problem will recur." Last year I took the car to them and left it with them for several months, and when finally called them and they said they had fixed it, about all it looks they did was replace my battery (which had a warranty) with a little toy (motorcycle?-)sized one that didn't have a warranty. And still I've got the same problems... low power, poor gas mileage, one fouling plug, misfiring and the like. The dealership doesn't want to fix my car properly, and make it right, like I paid them to do. I called them again several months ago and spoke with them at length about this issue, and they promised to get back to me to resolve this, but they haven't done anything. Their service department is clearly dishonest and disreputable. BEWARE! Don't let Lute Riley cheat and rip you off the way they did me...!Easiest car purchase ever!
by tmerante on 06/20/2013updated 06/20/2025I have to say that buying a car from Lute Riley was the easiest car purchase I've ever had. I've purchased quite a few cars in my time, most of which were a real pain in my $ss. But that wasnt the case with Lute Riley. I think my sales guy… was named John M. He was a real cool guy. I feel like i got a great car at a great price and i wasnt there all day. Isnt that what its all about.. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a good deal.
