by blondiedj on 12/10/2014Great buying experience! They gave me the sale price I wanted, the trade in I wanted, & although I came in with my own bank financing, they were able to get me better terms with a different lender. The car is a 6 speed manual & I hadn't… driven one for 30 years. The salesman gave me driving lessons for over an hour until we were both comfortable that I could drive home. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience & my salesman, Laszlo!New Toyota RAV4 2015

by alanpennock on 10/31/2014Had a wonderful experience with Dave. Got a real good deal on an '06 Honda CRV. He has followed up and kept me happy. And I have him now looking for a car for my daughter. If you try to BS him you won't get away with it. Negotiate in good… faith and you will get a good deal.sales experience at Champions
by texas51 on 09/05/2010I purchased car at the dealership yesterday. Experienced was mixed. I submitted request through internet. Internet sales guy Andy Strokos was real good in service. He responded through email with correct information. I setup appointment,… they confirmed properly and when I showed up at showroom 1 hour early, no complaints. We test drove car and they explained function and documents. Price was lowest that I could get compared to other dealer ship first internet proposal and later additional discount. I did go to another dealership before I went there to confirm. Finance department experience was not as good. They were pushing hard to sell me extended service policy. I found it awkward to keep refusing. There was no financing involved, documents system was computerized and worked smoothly. I wrote check and money was instantly transferred to them and they returned voided check to me. Finally Andy took time to link cellphone to car even when sale was done. Whole process took 6 hours. Little longer than expected but overall smooth.Bad Customer Service
by tcn on 08/07/2009These people do not know what they are doing. Customer service is piss poor. Getting someone on the phone is impossible. Having them return a phone call is like pulling teeth. I will never deal with this dealership again. I hope you never… have to either. I wanted to pay for my car in full. I made a down payment and was told I would be able to pay off the balance through a transfer of funds from my account a couple of days later. The finance person was clueless about how I could set it up with my bank. He just hands me a piece a paper with an account # that he wrote down. Not very official documentation if I'd say so. While at my bank, my representative tells me they need more information. I contact the account manager of Champion's Toyota and she seems to not want to deal with me or the bank. The process took nearly 2 hours to settle. I thought that was going to be the end of it. A couple of days later, the sales rep calls me wondering if I paid. He leaves me 2 messages. I call him and inform him of the transfer. He said he would check on it and call me back. No follow up. I called and left several messages. I called the finance rep. No follow up. I spoke to another finance rep. He said he would check on it and call me back. No follow up. These people suck. Not Bad.
by cmcginnis on 10/29/2008I've bought 3 cars here now. I've noticed a lot of changes since the restructuring has begun. This last time a Rav4 was purchased. Basically, we went in and said we wanted this car and told them that we had an older model to trade in. In… the end, they gave us about $1000 more than I was expecting for the trade in, and bout $500 more off of the new car price than I was expecting along with the 0% financing available to Houston customers. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of Toyota's New Car sales nor their dealership's New Car Sales departments, but I will say this dealership is starting to do a much better job than in the past. I don't look at the adds in the papers, but I do configure my vehicles online and when I go to the dealerships I know exactly what I am looking for. I will continue to buy new Toyotas because of their reputation with my family concerning quality, but I do as much shopping through the Toyota website as possible.10 years and still the best.
by cmcginnis on 10/29/2008Ive been working with Champion Toyota for a little over 10 years now. I first came to them for parts for a Supra I started rebuilding just after I graduated from high school. That project became a dealership effort, and from that I have… been able to get to know many of their technicians, sales (parts and cars) staff, and the service community. The service writers are kind, competent, and honest people. They do their best to help their customers on an exceptional level. We have worked together on everything from common repairs to custom performance modifications. Everytime I leave there, I am impressed. The technicians are exceptionally knowledgeable and resourceful, and I am quite happy to say that over the years many friendships have come out of these projects. It's rare to find a dealership where the technician will take time to talk and listen to you and then explain/show you the cause of the problems. Even more importantly, they know what they are explaining to you, instead of handing you their guesswork and calling it fixed. Over the years, I have probably learned as much from them as they have from me. I have always preferred to work on my own cars, but I had to give that up because of an injury. After the time I have spent with these guys, I can honestly say I trust them 100%, and they are the only place I go to have service and repairs performed on all 3 of my vehicles. This parts department is the only one I feel comfortable calling when I'm stranded out of state and in need of a hard to find part. They have helped me many times while I was traveling around the country. Their ability to get parts drop-shipped or overnighted to me is a great help. All in all, I am very impressed with the service and parts departments. They make an amazing team, and they have never let me down.customer service
by magladybug on 10/27/2008my whole experience with Champion was very pleasant and professional. I had great dealings with the internet salesman Doug Henderson, Miriam Sharp, and Elisa Eichhorn. They took care of all problems that can arise when purchasing any new… vehicle. They had no qualms, or hesitation to make the customer right. Elisa and Miriam make a tag team that anyone could be proud of. I reccomend going to Champion Toyota for your first inquiry on purchasing a Toyota cause it will be your final stop.Never going back, thanks for nothing!
by jeckyl11 on 10/25/2008Went in after doing plenty of research on Edmunds so we had a price in mind before we ever went in. Looking to buy a Toyota Camry Hybrid. Starting price was $29900 (edmunds) theirs was $35,350 plus they wanted to add to their MSRP an… extra $5000 just for giggles. Seems they think people are willing to give them the extra money??? Drove 10 minutes down I-45 to Clear Lake Toyota and guess what, no MSRP + $5000 wonder who I'll be buying from... They are great at bait and switch very nice facility with lots of inventory but that would figure if you are getting free money off of peoples backs! Don't step in the door!Seems like this is starteing be a trend with this dealership, Bait & Switch. With reviews like this, why would you want to buy a car here. Unless it all boils down to price, but then again, they'll get you one way or another. Stay away. Just my 2 cents.
Be wary and educated
by dunshoppin on 08/26/2008This is an old-school shop. They even use some of the more obvious tricks that the Edmunds undercover guy talks about in his article, such as writing the numbers in big black marker on a piece of paper to make it look like they are… immovable. They'll give you as little for your trade and charge as much as they possibly can for the new vehicle. Don't take any first offers for anything. The salesman I dealt with is now gone, but he wasn't very good, although pleasant enough. He quickly passed me to the sales manager, whom I found very argumentative and prone to insulting my intelligence. There was a substantial factory rebate on the vehicle I was interested in and the sales manager repeatedly tried to tell me the rebate was their discount on MSRP. Even though I told him repeatedly that I was smart enough to know the difference between a factory rebate and a dealer discount. I was told numerous times how many years he (and eventually his boss) had in the business, which was supposed to make me believe they knew more than I did (again, an old trick). Don't believe a word he or anyone else employed by the dealership tells you. If you choose to deal with these folks (and I don't know why you would), do your research carefully, take only your own counsel, and be prepared for an difficult afternoon. Whatever you do, be willing to walk away if you don't get the deal you want. The less likely you look to buy, the better they'll make the deal. They initially offered me $4000 less on my trade than trade-in blue book, then eventually raised the offer by $2000 when I wouldn't accept that (which was still $2000 less than book, if you're doing the math). I eventually got blue book trade-in from another dealer (although I refused the first offer, which was $1000 below book), which I think was OK for the condition of the car. After arguing for an hour and a half I had essentially got the difference between my trade and the new vehicle (by increasing the trade-in and the discount from MSRP) from about $20,000 to about $10,000. I didn't buy, though, because I still thought they were not offering me enough for the trade. Eventually I bought a Toyota from Ron Carter. I got further with Ron Carter over the phone in five minutes than in two hours with three people at Champions. I think at least one positive review placed here is a plant by someone from the Champion.Corolla best price
by dangtran5001 on 08/12/2008I brought my brothers with me to look at Corolla Le at Champion Toyota. We were helped right away by very friendly salesman who showed us many nice Corolla Le. He offered me and all three of my brothers a test drive and even gave us a… cold bottle of water because it was so hot. He was so nice to all of us. We do not like shopping at some Houston dealer because they are very ugly to you. Not Champion! They are very nice and gave me the best price in Houston. I have recommended Champion to all of my family and my brothers say they will be coming to see Mr. Chen for the best price on Sienna van. Very happy with Champion and with my new Corolla. Dang TranMy best advice for anyone is to stay away
by rome3 on 08/13/2008I was called at home by Champions so many times I can't remember the count. To make a long story short they set up a deal with me and had me come in all the way from the Woodlands for this particular Texas Edition Toyota Tacoma and when I… got there they did a switch and bait, I quess that's what you call it. I spoke to one of the managers about my displeasure with the situation and I was told " so what do you want to do just sit here and huff and puff". They also tried forcing me into buying a cheaper model truck for the same price as the oringinal deal they made on the Texas Edition. The best advice I can give anyone is to stay away from this dealership they are bad bussiness.GREAT DEALERSHIP- WILL RECOMMEND TO ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY
by jhelmly on 08/12/2008I recently purchased a Toyota Camry from Champion Toyota. I was searcing for cars online -I found one that I liked at Champion. When I arrived on the lot, the car was there and was advertised at the listed internet price. I was greeted… in a timely manner ( under 5 minutes) The sales associate was extremely helpful and very patient with me. He did not pressure me or try to "upsell" my decision. This dealership was not like many others that I have visited in the past. Once I decied on a car we negotiated the price (which I am still very happy with the price I paid- my trade in was valued very fairly) We got the paperwork filled out and went over to the finance department. The entire process took less than 3 hours from the time I arrived until I left in my new car. I would defiantly recommend this dealership to ALL my family and friends. Champion Toyota made my experience the best that I have ever had and I will defiantly return when it is time to upgrade my current Camry. ***Way to Go Champioin****Internet Sales Manager
by mpg3 on 07/03/2008I had requested specific information on a vehicle. The email responses that I received contained quotes for more than I was comfortable with. When I told Lisa that, she sent more emails. She then seemed focused on getting me to lease. I… made it clear a number of times that I did NOT want a lease. She kept pushing it anyway, although I was asking about other things. I am no longer interested in this type of car or this dealership. I would not recommend any interaction over the internet with this dealership as they do not provide helpful information.Bait and Switch at Champion Toyota
by vanyarussia on 06/04/2008After reserching between Consumer Reports and Edmunds.com, I had found the Rav4 at Champion Toyota (it was an Edmunds.com recommended dealership and a vetted dealership through Bank of America). After verifying all information about the… vehicle, agreeing to the price, and preparing all the paperwork, all my wife had to do was to go in and drop off the paperwork and pickup the vehicle. On the next morning she went to pick it up, the Rav4 was taken to the shop and the $1,600.00 read DVD system was installed which we had not ordered. At that point, the sales person said he didn't know why it was done but it couldn't be un-installed but we could have the vehicle for the additional $1,600.00 fee. My wife left. They offered to find another vehicle but we went to another dealership and got the Rav4 we wanted.[violative content deleted] sales associates
by danrob on 03/17/2008We walked into the show room and no one greeted us. It wasn't until a sales associate came over and asked after about 5 minutes or so. We were in the market for an 08 Camry. They didn't have the car that we wanted on the lot so he tried to… cut us a deal on an 09 that didn't have the special financing. He mentioned a specific car that was returned as part of a fleet sale. He never showed us the vehicle but was trying to have us sign paperwork to start the process. When we told him we had to think about it since we were short on time and had to be to work. He then sent over another sales associate who became very rude towards me and my husband. He made statements like "I know you didn't just wake up and decide oh I'm gonna buy a car today" He was obviously trying to claim that we weren't serious buyers. I mean who treats customers this way? If we weren't in the market to buy a car they we wouldn't be talking business with him and wasting our time. We left there with a bitter taste in our mouth. I DO NOT recommend this dealership.Beware - Bait and Switch
by maakif on 01/09/2008I am in the market for a 2007 Sequoia. Over the weekend, when the dealership was closed - I stopped by the dealership to see their 2007 Sequoia inventory. Later today, I called the dealership and talked to the sales person regarding a… 2007 limited sequoia. The sales person assured me that the particular vehicle was still in stock and was new and not a demo and quoted price to be $38500 with Toyta rebate OR $40500 with 0% apr. Later this evening when I went to the dealership to buy. The sales person took us to the vehicle and off top told us that it had 5000 miles on it. The second shocker was that the vehicle had DVD system installed and was the cost was not included in the MSRP and wanted additional $2800. I showed the sales rep other quotes for the comparable vehicle but he would not honor his quoted price. I left the dealership with the feeling that we were brought with a low price only for it to be changed when DVD system was "discovered".Deceptive sales practice at Champion's Houston
by tx_ice on 07/24/2007I went to Champion's after receiving an email from the national company that they were offering "double rebates" and so I emailed the Houston dealer from whom I had a quote. I listed what I felt was the new price based on the double rebate.… Basically, I took the previous quote and knocked another $1250 off. The email response was positive and asked me to come in. I called to confirm the price and was led to believe that what I mentioned in my email was the price. I arrive at the dealership excited and expecting an easy transaction. Then the Internet salesman has to leave and I am left dealing with his manager. And of course all my printouts of the email never indicated the price coming from the salesman. It was me who wrote the number and he simply indicated agreement. In the end, they would not honor that price and I left pissed and feeling cheated. I will never do business with them again and I will not bring my van to them for service either. P.S. I did get a 2007 Sienna CEtried to buy car at price in news paper
by rsoord on 07/19/2007I call about a car in the Houston chronicle add section, it was in stock and had a price on it in the paper they tried the old switch and bait when that did not work, the car all of a sudden had add on's that I did not want . The interest… rate went up even with good credit !! 9.5% when my bank offered 6.19% I must look stupid, I will give a toyota dealship minus one star, one more try before I jump ship!! Just because they have good product does not allow them to have dealers that try to cheat people. try to wear me down ok honda and nissan are looking better all the time. ps I own a 06 sienna which I love. While in the market for a smaller pickup truck, I did all my research and was leaning towards a Tacoma based on the reviews I read in Edmunds as well as Consumer Reports. I also have seen their ads in the Houston Chronicle and the quoted prices on the Toyota Tacoma crewcabs are lower than if I bought a used 2005 or 2006. Such a deal. But then I suspected that this was "too good to be true". I talked to coworkers as well as reading the dealer reviews on Edmunds. Such a useful tool by real people. You are totally correct that the downfall of Toyota will be their dealer network and their "we are the champions and number 1" attitude. It may take time but a reputation for poor salespeople and service, regardless of good product, will hurt Toyota financially. I love my 2004 Toyota Tundra and it has been a wonderfully reliable vehicle but it will be traded in on a new truck from another brand this weekend. Great product + poor sales people = disaster.
New Car Purchase
by mynewcar6 on 07/09/2013updated 06/09/2025My salesman, David H. was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. I was not looking forward to buying a new car due to the stigma of car salesmen but, David made my experience enjoyable.
