Even after I told them over and over that I was in a hurry and I knew exactly what I wanted, they kept me there for over and hour trying to get me to buy stuff (extended warrenty, theft protection, etc.) that I told them I did not want and… then they got mad when I didn't buy it.
    • @FDCal: Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Your feedback helps us make the necessary changes to improve our customer's experience. BEWARE HORRIBLE SERVICE ADVISOR!!! Tuesday morning was our appointment to get a basic oil change, our honest and trust worthy service advisor Thomas was not avil, and what seem to be a nice gentleman name KEVIN S. approached us and ask what… we wanted, we respond we had an appointment with Thomas for an oil change, he LIED to us and said that Thomas was running late, he proceeded on taking our vehicle in to get the oil change , while we were looking at the tire rack he asked us in a very RUDE TONE what vehicle we need tires for, we proceed on telling him we needed 2 tires, RUDE KEVIN S. interrupted us by saying if you buy 3 tire the 4th one is only $1.00 more, when we said we only needed two rear tires RUDE KEVIN S.yelled out and said we don't have tires for the XRunner there anyways, and rudely walking away. After the oil change was done Rude Kevin told us that our vehicle need immediate attention, they have done what is called a "multi point inspection" with out consulting us first. when ask about the finding of our rear differentials Rude Kevin try to belittle our knowledge and was getting upset when we ask specific questions on the quality of fluid in there. KEVIN dont care for customer service, he call us "BRO" AND TELL US WELL THE SERVICES NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. I wish the Service Manager was there or the customer services relation lady Mary Ann C., they would have never tolerate this bad customer service from an advisor. Our family members combine have brought a few toyota's from this dealer. we would love to do more business with this dealer, but no longer will caused of the bad quality of service we get for a simple oil change. BEWARE OF RUDE KEVIN S.!!!

John N. did a Great job getting my 2013 Toyota Prius sent to the dealership and all the other paper work. He spent much more time helping me. Too bad the finance man wasting my time on a cash deal. The car is disappointment to me.

JJ at Autonation Gulf Freeway worked with me for about a week looking for what was going to be "my new truck" not just a truck off of the lot. I was being a little picky as usual but he gave me multiple options on new and used of which he… ended up selling me a new 2013 Tundra 2 weeks ago. JJ was excellent to work with, not like some places you go to, I have given his name to 2 other people so far. This is the 2nd new Tundra I have purchased there, most likely more to come in the future.
  • RUN AWAY

Run away. Dealership tried to steal $30,000 for a $11,900 Yaris hatchback. Offered $499 for 60 month contract That was after negotiating a completely different (lower) price. Hard to understand business practice of dealership. I had… pre-approved financing from my credit union. I only talked finance because dealership wanted to "beat" my credit union's offer. Those posting 5 stars must have relatives working there (or be actual employees). There is a reason they changed named from Champion Toyota.

They did all the work I requested (and I am not an easy customer), including some after-market customization with special-order parts. The service manager was especially knowledgeable and patient, giving me the confidence that i had made… the right decision. Be sure to ask for Tony Pereira in case you need extra assurance on any detail. Highly recommended!

I recetly purchased a 2013 Corolla from Championship Toyota. Upon arrival I was greeted immediately by Mario T. He was a very attentive and friendly salesperson. He listen to what I wanted ( I had researched beforehand) and not what he… wanted to sell me as I had experienced at another dealership. The finance manager was also great. He worked with me to get the best deal for my budget. Their service did not stop after I bought the car. I accidentally left a cd in the car that I traded in and Mario found the cd and held it for me until I could pick it up. Overall my experience with this dealership and it's staff has been excellent. I would definitely recommend Mario to help find your next car!
    • @Gabyh084: Your kinds words about Mr. Mario T. are greatly appreciated. We truly Thank YOU for choosing us and giving us the opportunity to earn your business. So on behalf of Mr. Mario and the rest of us here at Champion Toyota Gulf Freeway, we look forward to seeing you again at your First Maintenance Appointment. From start to finish GREAT experience. Even though we took about a week to make a decision (which would have annoyed me), the sales, service and finance people were always friendly and more than helpful. Got a great deal in the end also, I… would recommend this dealership to anyone.

The salesman, Vincent N. was very friendly and got the lease deal handled quickly. My dad was happy with his 2013 Camry. His only complaint was that the paperwork in the finance office too too long but we were told that leasing a vehicle… has more paperwork. Dad got the lease deal he had seen on TV so he was happy with the car and the lease.

I sent an e-mail to several dealerships and requested online quotes. Donna from Champion Toyota offered several models and options. We talked several times on the phone. I said her my existing quotes and she gave me the best price. We… arrived there a bit late so Donna forwarded us to Mike to help us. Both of them were so kind, well educated and helpful. At the end we decided to buy a better model but we got a good price for it, too. I strongly advice them.
    • @xpturk: On behalf of your Sales Team, Mike and Donna and the rest of us here, we THANK YOU for your kind words and we truly appreciate your business. We realize you have many choices out there and we are grateful for the opportunity you gave us. We look forward to seeing you again at your 1st Scheduled Maintenance Appointment. The salesman who helped us was very helpful and honest about pricing. The finance manager was very friendly and laid back. We did not feel pressured or the need to be defensive in any way---which is the opposite of our last Toyota car… buying experience.

I have bought three cars from this dealership and it's always a pleasure to do business with. Sales associate Miguel V. is very helpful and will go above and beyond to get you in the car you want, very attentive and patient. I have gotten… my new cars washed and full of gas every time. Highly recommended dealership, you won't be disappointed.

Shahzed our salesman did a very good job on helping us buy a new Toyota Prius. We were able to make a good deal and the process was enjoyable for the first time ever buying a new car. We have bought a few new cars and the process was… miserable. But everyone working there tried to help. Thanks
    • @vittoria: We truly appreciate your kind words and for choosing us to find your Prius! We look forward to seeing you at your first service appointment. Thank you from Shahzad and all of us here at Champion Toyota Gulf Freeway.

  • Good experience

Hello, I would like to share my feedback on my recent buying experience. I purchased a 2013 Camry SE on August 23, 2013 from AutoNation Scion Gulf Freeway (Toyota). Below are my reasons for choosing this location and my review of this… dealer. 1) Location. I Live in east Pearland and having a nearby location where I can easily take my vehicle for future service is a big convenience. Having purchased a few options I have already interfaced with the service department and I have had a very positive experience with the friendliness of the service department. Additionally, the facility is very well kept and they have a nice waiting area. 2) Very courteous and friendly sales person Joel C. as well as the sales manager David M. Joel was very helpful in explaining the features of the Avalon and Camry vehicles I was interested in viewing. Joel was not pushy nor rushing me into buying and was very courteous in answering all my questions. It was also very nice that Joel spoke Spanish so I recommend seeing him if you require a Spanish speaking sales person. For this purchase I also had a vehicle to trade in, which I had appraised elsewhere and at and at AutoNation. The AutoNation appraisal came in lower than my other offer, but after some lengthy negotiating David respectfully matched the appraisal price from elsewhere and we finalized the sale price. As I mentioned above, because of some extras I purchased, Joel and David made arrangements for me to borrow a loan vehicle, which was extremely convenient and helped with my schedule of taking kids to/from school. 3) My rating: 4 out of 5 Due to my wife's and my schedule, we were not able to complete all my paperwork the same day we finalized our sales deal, so I made an EARLY follow up appointment for the following day. Once we arrived for our appointment we were again graciously greeted by Joel and David who said their finance manager would be with us shortly. Well... after 2.5 hours of waiting someone finally came for us. The finance person mentioned he was not assigned to us, but was taking our file because the original person was still busy. He did a nice job handling our paperwork, but I was very annoyed and slightly irritated that we had to wait so long. In the end the final finance paperwork only took 20-30 min to complete, yet we were there for 3 hours. Unacceptable! Conclusion: I was very happy with the help and service Joel provided me during the sale and anytime thereafter while I was present at AutoNation. David was very courteous when working on the final sales price. The finance department needs to get their act together as they are the final step of the car buying experience, which will and in my case has impacted my experience at AutoNation. If the last step with finance had been better managed I would have given AutoNation a perfect 5.
    • Tony, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We appreciate your business. Happy motoring!

  • Safety First is not paramount in Autonation Gulf Freeway's Selling Practice

1 out of 5 starsby Evins on 03/05/2014
    updated 06/09/2025

My father looked for a used vehicle for week until he located one he liked (2005 Grand Jeep Cherokee); he asked me to accompany him to finalization process to ensure matters were handled suitably. He had spoken to the Internet Salesperson… David who refers to himself as "the ranger" on several occasions and had ridden in the vehicle days prior to me assisting him through the purchasing process on January 20, 2014. He is rude and condescending and hung up on me. I have located a few negative reviews about him that are consistent with what we experienced but perhaps not as bad as ours. Autonation Gulf Freeway should be ashamed of it’s business practices and the lack of safety concern for its customers and their families. We were told that the dealership would not replace the bumper, as they were already losing money on the vehicle. Yet, the manager agreed to fix the bumper and replace the one used tire on the vehicle to match the three new ones already on the vehicle. Shortly thereafter David left us in his office and returned with a new invoice with an added fee for the bumper and the tire. The exact amount I quoted to the manager that I had gotten from the body shop I contacted. David failed to mention added fee on the invoice and instead placed it in front of my father to sign while making small talk about how he wished he could get a deal like us. Having researched the cost bumper, we decided we would accept the added fee and let the dealership replace it. However, while the additional fee was included on the invoice, the documentation to repair and replace the tire was NOT among the paperwork (but merely written on the bottom of the invoice) when attempting to complete the financial transaction with Ray in the finance department. When I brought it to Ray’s attention he explained that it had to have the manager’s written approval along with a signature. He then located Mr. M.and requested the documentation. Mr. M. appeared to have been bothered by the request. On the second day after purchasing the vehicle from Autonation Toyota Scion Gulf Freeway, the vehicle’s horn began sounding arbitrarily in the drive way disturbing us and our neighbors. We first thought someone was attempting to steal it, but after listening to the rhythm sounding from the horn it was that of a femata (long and continuous sound and then changed to vibrato (pulses). This same sound continued while the vehicle was being driven on the freeway and side streets causing it to be a definite safety issue. We're filing a report with the State Attorney's office and TXDMV and Autonation's CEO Mike J. because there is no way this vehicle could pass inspection with the issue with the horn. We have tried to work with the dealership but to no avail. I have been spoken rudely to by David, referred to as a "girl" and abruptly hung up on; And apparently I'm not the first as there are several postings on line about him. I will post the links later and if possible the video/audio recordings. I will also be emailing Mary C., Customer Relations Manager at the Autonation Gulf Freeway location. Shame on you Autonation and such a shame to the brand. My actual rating is -100
    • Sales Review Update: from March 5, 2014 I would like to thank Kevin H. (Autonation Toyota ScionÂ’s General Manager Gulf Freeway), Tony P. (Autonation Toyota ScionÂ’s Service Manager Gulf Freeway), and Mary C. (Autonation Toyota ScionÂ’s Customer Relations Manager Gulf Freeway) for their personal and immediate response to my concerns. With much sincerity and professionalism, Kevin and Tony extended apologies and promised to 1) correct the issue to the level of satisfaction 2) provide alternative transportation while the issue with my fatherÂ’s vehicle is being completely resolved and repaired, all while stating that they want to make it right 3) address my concerns regarding my interactions with particular personnel. In addition, both Kevin and Tony assured me that Autonation does certainly and will always consider their customerÂ’s safety as an essential principle next to exceptional customer service, along with honest business/sales practices. My conversation with Kevin and Tony has led me to consider that a pledge for action in addition to actively reinstating customer relations and satisfaction, exemplify the vision and mission statements of the Autonation brand. Although I am not exactly familiar with AutonationÂ’s vision or mission statements Â…IÂ’m sure that is to some extent parallel to: A customer is the most important visitor on our premises; he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so – Mahatma Gandhi In essence, in addressing and following remedying the situation, I am positive to return to Autonation and purchase a vehicle for myself; and continue to refer friends, family both Masonic/Eastern Star, sorority sisters/brothers, fellow Greek fraternity/sorority and church members, colleagues, my former, future, and current graduating high school students and my amazing undergraduate students commencing this year to Autonation.

Buying my first car was a great experince. Edward Huerta didn't pressure me. He was easier to talk to than the other dealers I had been too. Edward gave me many options and also tried his very best to find a vehicle I was comfortable… with/paying for. I would defintaly recommend him to friends and family!

This dealership was recommended to me and also Donna Terblanche (salesperson) was specifically recommended, so I made an appointment to meet with her. I was looking for a certified pre-owned vehicle and knew my price point, but was… otherwise open to types of vehicles. I met with Donna and she was just fantastic! She spent a lot of time with me and spoke candidly about what kinds of vehicles were available in my range and which ones she thought were best. Overall, it was the best car-buying experience I could have asked for and Donna was just great! I would definitely recommend her to friends/family.
