Written by 07/19/2007
onI call about a car in the Houston chronicle add section, it was in stock and had a price on it in the paper they tried the old switch and bait when that did not work, the car all of a sudden had add on's that I did not want . The interest rate went up even with good credit !! 9.5% when my bank offered 6.19% I must look stupid, I will give a toyota dealship minus one star, one more try before I jump ship!! Just because they have good product does not allow them to have dealers that try to cheat people. try to wear me down ok honda and nissan are looking better all the time. ps I own a 06 sienna which I love.

While in the market for a smaller pickup truck, I did all my research and was leaning towards a Tacoma based on the reviews I read in Edmunds as well as Consumer Reports. I also have seen their ads in the Houston Chronicle and the quoted prices on the Toyota Tacoma crewcabs are lower than if I bought a used 2005 or 2006. Such a deal. But then I suspected that this was "too good to be true". I talked to coworkers as well as reading the dealer reviews on Edmunds. Such a useful tool by real people. You are totally correct that the downfall of Toyota will be their dealer network and their "we are the champions and number 1" attitude. It may take time but a reputation for poor salespeople and service, regardless of good product, will hurt Toyota financially. I love my 2004 Toyota Tundra and it has been a wonderfully reliable vehicle but it will be traded in on a new truck from another brand this weekend. Great product + poor sales people = disaster.
