  • Toyota of Dallas Discriminate Against Women

    1 out of 5 starsby Rachelle S on 12/08/2021

Do not walk but RUN AWAY FROM TOYOTA OF DALLAS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A FEMALE! I purchased a 2020 Lexus IS300. When they delivered my car to my place of employment that evening they had taken the Bridgestone tires off of the car and put a no name tire on the car. I bought the car with Bridgestone tires not the no name tires they switched. I brought it to their attention immediately and was dismissed for two days, so I went to the dealership. Syed Jafri was the first person to tell me he would not do anything to fix the problem and he told me to lower my voice. I also witnessed Syed Jafri yelling at one of the sales reps in front of the entire show room full of customers. He was belittling and disrespectful. The GM Cody Freeman came to me immediately and told me to be quiet and lower my voice. I know it is because I am a woman! I am being discriminated against because of my gender. Cody Freeman would never talk to and treat a man the way I was being treated! If I were a man they would have fixed the problem! I have filed a complaint with the corporate office, a case number has been started. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I have multiple voicemails for the managing partner of Toyota of Dallas, Darren Dortch with no reply. I am upset that I cannot go into this dealership and purchase a car and be treated equally as a man would be treated. I feel taken advantage of and discriminated against. I will not stop nor lower my voice. I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP...EVER.
    • Hello Rachelle, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. At our dealership, we pride ourselves on straightforward, no-nonsense, and transparent dealings with our clients. It is discouraging to hear about your situation and we would like the opportunity to try and regain your trust in our business. To clarify, the tires that were put on your vehicle are worth $1,000 and are held to the same standard as Bridgestone and Michelin. In an effort to provide you with outstanding customer service, we even replaced all four tires rather than just the two that you requested. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with this, and we would be happy to discuss the situation further with you. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Lauren Morel, at (972) 852-0158 or lmorel@vtaig.com and we will do our best to make this better.

  • Poor dealership top to bottom

1 out of 5 starsby Chuck on 09/04/2020

If you are planning to look at Toyotas this Labor Day weekend, I would suggest that you pick any dealership except Toyota of Dallas. Its no shocker that they an average 2 star rating. I purchased a Highlander from them 10 months ago and I have had awful experiences with both the sales department and the service department so I believe that they are a poorly run operation from top to bottom. I've filed BBB complaints, sent registered letters to Toyota HQ in Plano and the only response I received was from Mr Takeshi Uchiyamada, Chairman of the Board in Japan who referred me back to Toyota Plano who in turn suggested that I go back to Toyota of Dallas to negotiate a purchase of a different Highlander. Huh? I've purchased 4 Toyotas from Sport City in the past and have received a top notch experience. I purchased one Toyota fro Toyota of Dallas and have had nothing but problems with the sales and service departments. Beware.
    • Chuck, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take our clients' comments seriously and want to understand your situation in further detail. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Annette Trejo, at 972-852-0158 and we will do our best to make this better.

  • Sold a truck they didn't have

1 out of 5 starsby Mistreated Customer on 07/25/2020

They never secured the truck. Lied and told me they did and would have delivery in 72 hours. They kept pushing until it was going to be 30 days. I purchased elsewhere and now I can't get anyone to help me with a refund of my first payment. Won't return calls or emails. Drove to the dealership and am still waiting for them to get out of a sales meeting. Worst experience of my life.
    • We are disappointed that you are not satisfied with your experience at our dealership. We would like to speak with you further about your visit so that we may work towards a resolution. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Annette Trejo, at 972-852-0158 and we will do our best to make this better.

  • Fraud statement to get you buy thier car

1 out of 5 starsby Nhu le on 04/22/2020

came to the Toyota of Dallas, the dealer keep saying they will fix big scratches in the front bumper if I buy the car (used Toyota Raw4 2019) did ask for another car in the same condition without the scratches. They denied because they did not like to start everything over. keep saying they will make the scratches gone and clear " no worry" At the end of the day, did not even have at least a paper for me to confirm they would fix the scratches, until I said "I would not leave without it." came back after 3 days, it took them 15 minutes to put some ugly paint on the top of the scratches and said" it the best we could do." Going home and tried to get a hold of the general manager ( Mr. Darren Dortch). got transferred around many time and disconnected. sent couple email to him, asking to treat his customer right. His respond: " At this time if you would like the bumper repaired it will cost $250. We did not agree to repair the bumper completely, nor was this put in writing. Toyota of Dallas has no regional office. Please let me know if you want us to schedule this repair. Regards, Darren D Dortch Managing Partner The All New Toyota of Dallas YOUR Toyota Connection [contact info removed] I cannot believe a highly respected general manager of Toyota of Dallas dealer would say that. even I have the paper that the sale directer ( Mr. steven) signed and mention "touch up." They are playing by using words, and did make a fraud statement to get customer buy their car.
    • On behalf of our team, we sincerely apologize that you had an unpleasant experience, Nhu. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Annette Trejo, at 972-852-0158.

  • Customer Service is lacking

    1 out of 5 starsby Jay S on 01/03/2020

I just bought a Toyota 4 Runner here. The experience was pleasant and the salesman paid attention to what I was looking for in a new vehicle. The after sale treatment, however, deserves only one star. When buying a car here go to the service area and see first hand, the VOLUME of people waiting for their vehicles - sooner or later you will be among the masses; For me, it was the very next day. Oh, and don't expect the same treatment you got when buying the vehicle, you become nothing but a number. When I addressed this with the GM, I received a condescending email.
    • Hello Jay, we always appreciate feedback from customers, and we are so sorry to hear about your negative experience with us. We never want customers to feel like we aren't providing them with the absolute best in customer service. We'd love to discuss your concerns and see what we can do to make this right for you. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Annette Trejo, at 972-852-0158 and we will do our best to make this better.

I was looking for a Malibu and fell in love with the new Camry. Toyota of Dallas is a beautiful dealership and was amazing to work with. My Salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable.

  • Disappointing and dishonest sales

    1 out of 5 starsby taylormi75 on 04/18/2019

I am disappointed with my experience at this dealership and with a lack of response from the dealership management. Friday, April 5 2019, at first, working with Miguel Cardenas was helpful. He showed me several cars and helped me identify one of interest. However, I felt deceived when the salesman began negotiations with an out the door price $7k higher than the price advertised on-line. I walked out. The next day, Saturday, Miguel called with an offer that he claimed was the advertised price plus tax title and license. In fact, the offer was several hundred dollars higher than the advertised price plus TTL. Still, I brought my wife to see the car and attempted to negotiate the price again. As we walked out that evening, Miguel commented to my wife, "You deserve better". On our way out, a manager stopped us and eventually offered me a price that I was willing to accept. When we returned to the dealership on Monday, we worked with the same salesman to complete paperwork for the purchase. As I completed the paperwork, the salesman talked continuously. I asked him to stop talking several times, so that I could complete the paperwork. He continued to talk, haggling over the price of the car. After my third attempt to get him to stop talking, the salesman suggested that he did not care if we walked out the door. So we did. I addressed the experience with the manager on our way out the door, then called later in the week to clarify and follow up. Fortunately, we were able to find a nicer car at a more reasonable price at Freeman Toyota. So, I hopefully will not have to deal with this dealership again.
    • We are sorry to hear about your less than outstanding experience with us. We would like the chance to speak with you further about your experience. Please contact our Customer Relations Manager, Annette Trejo, at 972-852-0158 and we will do our best to make this better. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

    • I have contacted Annette Trejo who apologized and suggested that she would ensure the matter would be addressed with the salesman. Unfortunately, she offered nothing to correct the situation or make reparations for my experience.

  • shady dealership

    1 out of 5 starsby neptune67 on 01/17/2018

they post cars at a good deal to get you in than tell you you can not have it because even though you are pre-approved for a loan they want you to use their banks for more profit with a bunch of stipulations. Shady!
  • Excellent service with great price

    5 out of 5 starsby Fahim833 on 05/09/2017

I went there recently and received truly exceptional service. It didn't even take me more than 3 hours to get the formalities done and I took my Toyota home. Unlike other dealerships, no one has to haggle for hours here and they are willing to sell cars. Overall they offer world class service. I strongly recommend Toyota of Dallas.
    • Fahim, thank you for the review! We are so glad to hear that you had a great experience at our dealership and were able to take home your dream Toyota!

  • Wonderful Experience[Empathetic and Supportive]

    5 out of 5 starsby Serge100 on 04/07/2017

After been denied a Corolla at Toyota Richardson and Vendagriff Toyota, all complaining I haven't gotten good credit and that my $2,500/month salary wasn't good a month,I went to Toyota Of Dallas, explained to them my situation how badly I needed a car for work and school. The sales associate and finance managers promised to help me. After a few hours, I was asked my choice of a car. I mentioned a 2016 Toyota RAV4. Like a dream, I went back home with a 2016 Toyota RAV4, which had just 6miles [0000 miles by implication]. This story sounds unreal, but you are free to clear your doubts, by visiting Toyota Of Dallas. You don't even need to look for a financier because their in-house financing is better than any one you could imagine.
    • Hello! We were happy to help you during your time at Toyota of Dallas. We love hearing from our customers! Thank you again and we appreciate your feedback!

  • They can't be trusted. Do not purchase from Toyota of Dallas.

1 out of 5 starsby jamesismyagent on 08/29/2015

I would encourage you to look elsewhere if you're shopping for a Toyota in DFW. These people cannot be trusted to follow through on their promises. My wife and I purchased a Highlander from ToD back in the beginning of the year. On our test drive, we discovered a quirk with the remote start system, where the vehicle would shut off when you open any door on the vehicle. Obviously, this is a big problem, since the whole point of having a remote start function is to prepare the vehicle to be comfortable when you get it to drive it. Jessica, the salesperson told us on the test drive, "Oh, we can fix that in the service department. Don't worry about that." So, we accepted her explanation, and went on to purchase the vehicle, largely because we liked having the remote start, and two other Highlanders we were looking at at another Toyota dealership didn't have that option. After purchasing the vehicle, we took it to the service department to get them to fix the remote start to work as we were promised. We were then told that it wasn't possible, that the service technician didn't know how to fix it. We were busy and needed to collect the vehicle, so we took it back without having it fixed. After lots of research, and two more visits to the dealership that were also unsuccessful, it became clear that Jessica was wrong, and that the service department wasn't able to fix the remote start as we were promised. This is when things started to get ugly. We asked the parts department to give us the functionality we were promised by Jessica (A function that was a big part of why we bought the vehicle) and we were told that ToD wasn't going to help us at all. That if we wanted the remote start, we'd have to pay for an aftermarket part and installation that was several hundred dollars. When I explained that their answer wasn't acceptable, two different people on the phone got abusive and accused us of lying. What a horrible experience. Toyota of Dallas can't be trusted to fulfill the promises of the sales staff. They had the nerve to me that if I didn't have something in writing, that they weren't going to help us. So, I guess the words of their people don't mean anything. You can't trust anyone at Toyota of Dallas. We will be contacting Toyota's corporate customer satisfaction team, as well as leave this same warning on as many sites as we can find. Shame on Toyota of Dallas for treating good clients like us so poorly. I've never been so frustrated by a car dealership in my life. They have cost themselves all of our future business and our referrals, all so they can save a couple hundred bucks on a remote start system. Shame on them.
    • Sir, Unfortunately the Remote start feature that Toyota installs in their new vehicles automatically shuts off the engine when the car is unlocked or the door is opened. It is a wordwide safety feature that is dictated by Toyota. It is not a defect, it was built that way by the Manufacturer. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Sincerely, Darren Dortch - GM

5 out of 5 starsby treyandersonnn on 11/15/2014

I bought my second vehicle from Toyota of Dallas recently. My salesperson Andrew did a great job. I went through TrueCar to get a quote and got calls from a ton of dealers. Andrew and his manager Mitchell sent the info I requested without sending me a bunch of spam. They followed up without bothering me too much. I will always recommend the Toyota of Dallas team.
    • Trey, thank you for your positive feedback. And for your repeat business! We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you for your all your future Toyota needs. Darren Dortch GM

  • Rude and abusive manager said

1 out of 5 starsby sandyplanotx on 03/27/2009

Very very rude manager (Justin West). When we decided to leave without buying, he said "Thank you for wasting my time" ! You decide if you want to buy from this dealer. Detailed review below: My wife and I were looking to buy a Toyota Corolla with a VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) option. We called Toyota of Dallas, and were told by the manager, Justin West, that he had a number of Toyota Corollas with VSC option. We showed up at the dealership and Justin assigned a salesperson , Chris Malik, to us. Chris took us out to the new car lot. When we got there, I reminded him that we are only interested in Corollas with a VSC option. He had no clue what VSC was. He tried to pass off Brake Assist as VSC. When I corrected him, he said that Corollas do not come with VSC (even as an option). I had to correct him again ! In short, Chris knew zero about the cars he was trying to sell. Now to the manager. When we decided to leave (because they did not have any vehicle with VSC ! which is what we had asked for on the phone in the first place ), Justin West looked very pissed and said "Thank you for wasting my time". We left this dealership as fast as we could. Good luck with your car buying experience.
  • Well, it was close....

    1.8 out of 5 starsby txjim1 on 10/14/2008

Went there looking for a Sienna as it was closedt to my house. The Salesman did not have the slightest idea what features the Sienna had. Did not know about the rear-seat radio controls and many other features. I would have agreed to a higher price if I knew about these features. Did not know the basic details of the vehicle to compare it to the competition. Guys, selling cars well is a profession, be professional! Study your vehicles! Study the competetion! The Sienna was damaged in prep on the bumper but during the final "sign here, you accept the vehicle" session, the person showing me the van did not point out the damage! It was obvious to me by her body language (before and after I pointed out the damage) she knew it was there. What kind of dealership tries to pass this along to the customer? I would have had respect for them if I got a call telling me about the problem and how they were going to take care of it. Now, I don't trust them and will never go back.
  • Man, I thought I am the only one who think this dealership is bad

2 out of 5 starsby haidongh on 09/03/2008

The sales guys are not educated, and they will say ANYTHING to make you buy a car, like a Toyota RAV4 4 cylinder has very good power, and it can go from 0 to 60MPH in 6 seconds, and point out all the "good things"they think makes a Toyota a good car, but they are all standard things that other manufactures has. They don't know how to compete with Honda, just keep saying Toyota is the best. A salesman even call me at dinner trying to convince me to come back. The sales me keep me wondering in the parking lot in 99 degree weather for about half hour. This place looks like the dealership that is described in Edmunds article "Confession of a car salesman"
