Customer Reviews of Jeff Wyler Honda of Colerain
Review type:
Sold defective car, terrible post sales experience, dishonest sales.
by 5morehp on 11/03/2016Bought a new 2016 CRV from them and after signing all the paperwork, before driving the car of the lot, me and my wife discovered 3 to 4 inches long scratch on the gas cover OURSELVES. This was after their supposedly detailing. Brought it… to the car sales and this was brought to a manager who walked through us and drove the car back to the shop again, but did not speak with us at all. The car came back with the scratch still on, but the with gas cover having additional color variation since the shop tried to buff it off but failed, and leaving additional damage. The car sales promised that we can have the scratch repaired at our local dealer since we drove 200 miles over to buy the car. However, when I called back later on asking what I should tell my local dealer in order to have it fixed, I was told what the rep told me was his own words, the manager won't honor it! What's worse than that, I've further discovered tons of scratches on the chrome pieces on both of the triangular Windows near the rear end of the car. It appears that when they were trying to take the protective film off the car, they used something real hard and scratched the two pieces all over! Even with what they've done, I still have some protective films on the chrome pieces left. I was later on contacted by the sales who sold me the car over the internet claiming not remember the car having any scratches. The truth is, he wasn't even there to deliver the car to me that day (never even seen the car himself). The car was delivered by another sales who told me that my original sales isn't in that day. This raised the red flag. Not to mention never being able to reach their financial guy through any possible way AFTER the sales. Calls, voice messages, and emails all not returned. BE VERY CAREFUL choosing the dealer you want to deal with, and take the negative reviews you can find on this dealer (google, yelp, cars.com, dealer rater.com, etc) very seriously before making your decisions.Excellent customer service
by henderson123 on 07/19/2016This is the 2nd time I have used Jeff Wyler and once again the experience was amazing. The salesman was extremely patient while we wait on an insurance settlement and answered all of our questions. He didn't even complain when I asked to… listen to different vehicles and compare the sound systems.Buyer Beware
by CatMomOf2 on 05/31/2016I have never been more frustrated or angered while trying to purchase a new car. I went to Jeff Wyler Honda of Colerain yesterday, Monday May 30, to test drive a new Honda Pilot for the second time. There was only one available to drive… and it was not the trim level I wanted to purchase. We test drove it anyway and proceeded to tell the salesman that this model was not what we wanted. He kept saying "what if I can get you a good deal with your trade in?" I continued to tell him no. When we arrived back at the dealership I told him I wanted a black Touring model. He proceeded to find one available at another Jeff Wyler location. Before we could discuss pricing and financing, he drove my trade in vehicle with me inside. While driving around, he kept making comments such as, "This is going to look so good for me that I am selling a Pilot off another lot." He also said, "This is great because I only need one more sale to get a bonus." I felt this to be very unprofessional. I had not committed to purchasing anything and his cockiness was sickening. When we went back in to the dealership to talk numbers, things got even worse. The unprofessional salesman took my information and then went back to talk about my application. When he returned with the "numbers," I was literally about to fall out of my chair with anger. My trade in value on Kelley Blue Book was an average of $10,000. They wanted to give me $5,000. On top of that, they were trying to sell me the Pilot for $4,000 over MSRP! I was furious. I told them I know what my car is worth and that is not even close. The manager then went out to my car and also drove it. He came back and said, "Sorry about that. The VIN number was coming up as an EX but yours is really an EX-L so we'll give you $8000." Sound like a scam?? I think so. How can a VIN number be wrong? It's like a social security number. I told them to forget the whole thing. I had no interest in doing business with [non-permissible content removed]. First, give me nothing for my trade in and then try to charge me OVER MSRP. They showed me no window sticker, no description of the charges - just a number they wrote on a piece of paper. When I went home, my husband and I priced the Touring on Honda's website and, yes, we were getting scammed by $4000. I am sickened by this whole experience. Jeff Wyler of Colerain is what gives car dealerships a bad name. I wasn't surprised when I read a few reviews down on this page and saw someone was overcharged by $4000 on a new Honda Civic. Just goes to show that it pays to do your own research. I knew when they showed me that price of $49,000 it was totally off. Go price it for yourself on Honda's website. Black, 2016, Touring. Not even close to $49,000 even when you add on several accessories. Please steer clear of this dealership. You will run into cocky, unprofessional sales people and [non-permissible content removed] managers. I know I will never step foot on another Jeff Wyler dealership lot. Ever.3rd new Odyssey purchase from Wyler Honda on Colerain
by jwerling1 on 04/10/2016Just brought home my 3rd new Odyssey in the last 6 years from Wyler Honda on Colerain. I bought from Al Sanders. He's been there quite a while now and has helped me each time I've needed to update my leased car. I visited the dealership 3… times before I decided on the vehicle I wanted. Al took me for a test drive in different models and explained the features and benefits of each trim level I was interested in. Al never was pushy and didn't try to negotiate anything until I had found the vehicle I wanted to own. The selection of new Odysseys in both trim levels and color options made it easy to get just what I wanted. Once I decided on the trim level and color I wanted we negotiated a deal that let me get the most bang for the money.A "certified" scam.
by webbfamily99 on 04/05/2016I posted this on their FB page on March 24, 2016: This has been one of the worse car buying experiences we have ever had! My husband drove there from Columbus Ohio to trade in my pilot for a slightly new version when he got the truck it had… a HORRIBLE cleaner smell that they said was from the leather protector insurance that we bought. So we got a neutralizer air freshener to help with the odor. We had to let the car sit for 4-5 days to air it out because the smell was horrible. Once that smell was gone we went to use the heater and got consumed with cigarette smoke smell. I left multiple messages for our sales guy who NEVER got back to me so I went to the sales manager. I told him about the smell and the fact that the truck isn't shifting properly. He told me it's because Honda changed the way it shifts. I scheduled to have the remote starter installed last Saturday (March 19) when they were supposed to also take care of the filter behind the dash and look at the shifting problems. I get my car back on Tuesday with the smell still there when you turn on the air/heat and the shifting now seems worse. The sales manager acts like he is doing me a FAVOR and that they are not required to help at all. Now I have to take it to a dealership that they own in Columbus to fix the filter and a Honda dealership to have them fix the shifting. I have called and spoke to the assistant GM and he is giving me the impression that his guys have bent over backward to help me. Now I will go to Honda and see if they agree. have still not heard back from the GM at Jeff Wyler Honda of Colerain or their corporate representative that responded to my last review I want to make sure that someone understands the severity of what has happened. We do NOT believe that the Certified Pilot that sold was sold to us on February 26th was actually certified! Honda Corporate has also asked the GM at the Colerain location for proof by email and phone yet NOONE has responded. Not only that but we were never given a copy of the 182 point inspection or a copy of the certification warranty book. I want to turn this vehicle in and walk away. IF it comes to light that this car was sold to us by deception we will press charges under The Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act (OCSPA) (Ohio Rev. Code § 1345.02.) 1345.02 Unfair or deceptive acts or practices. (A) No supplier shall commit an unfair or deceptive act or practice in connection with a consumer transaction. Such an unfair or deceptive act or practice by a supplier violates this section whether it occurs before, during, or after the transaction. Mark the GM told me that he had proof that our car was certified because they had to pay for the warranty and that he was going to pull the file and email it to me. Well he didn't pull the file instead he sent this: I have decided to forward the info that you requested to our attorney. We should be in contact with you either this afternoon or early next week. Mark Hume General Manager Jeff Wyler Honda of Colerain I have filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office as well as Honda.Great experience
by Billsufc on 03/13/2016I bought a used car from here after finding it online. Idan Shenhav was my dealer and he was great to deal with .. Very smooth experience, went in for a test drive, came home with s very good deal. Highly recommendedFantastic Experience!
by berish9 on 03/07/2016Idan rocks the house! Very easy to talk to and very accommodating! They've definitely got my future business! Idan perfectly understood our needs and worked to make the numbers work for us. Four thumbs up!Outstanding Car Buying Experience
by Dena_Cincy on 09/29/2015I would like to thank Idan Shenhav for a great car buying experience. Throughout the entire process, Idan provided friendly service and shared his expert knowledge clearly and respectfully. I was kept informed at every stage of the… purchase. Lance in Financing, and the Insurance agent were both a pleasure to work with as well. I would certainly use this dealership again and will certainly refer my family and friends.Dishonest, unethical and deceptive
by kobe_13 on 09/25/2015I was a potential out of state customer. I did not want to make the long trip without a price agreement, I made an offer, John Booth phoned back and agreed to my offer. Hence, with an agreed trade price, we made the trip. We test drove… and started paperwork. He re-iterated the agreed price while on the dealership floor. A seemingly simple math addition of the agreed trade price + tax + fee transaction, was met with much confusion when the paperwork started. We kept reiterating the agreement. They must have brought us 4 or 5 different prices, none of which matched the agreement, the last price was $2000 off of the agreement. It is unethical, deceptive and dishonest to agree to a trade price and change the deal when on-site. This behavior should not be met with additional sales, find an honest dealership that respects good business practices. If the sales staff are making agreed deals that they cannot stand behind, then there are serious issues with how this dealership is being managed.Certified Used Trash
by sincere224 on 09/11/2015If you are an African American you should stay away from ALL Jeff Wyler Dealerships. ! Why you ask? This organization preys on women, and those with credit issues. I purchased a car on February 07, and the transmission failed two days… later. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the General Manager agreed to refund my Down payment and to take the car back. When I got to the dealership the down payment was not refunded,! Instead the finance Manager sent several salesmen into his office to try to convince me to keep the car. I thought it was somewhat off that all of the salesmen that were sent in to try to persuade me to keep the car were African American. ! Conincidence ? NO.! . Each salesmen that was sent in to talk to me became more aggressive one after another. I walked out of the dealership leaving the car, keys and title in the finance managers office. ! I was called by the Finance Manager, and was threatened with reposession from my Lender if I did not agree to keep the car. ! I reluctantly agreed to keep the car , and it was sent for repairs. I was given a loaner while it was being repaired. It was returned three weeks later, and it ran fine up until last week. the transmission went out again. ! Clearly there is something seriously wrong with this car if the transmission continues to fail. ! I also cannot understand how this car was " Certified Used" and the transmission failed two days later. ?!. Yesterday I went into the dealership for what I thought was a resolution.to my problem. ! when I arrived I was greeted by the same [non-permissible content removed] that I was tricked by during the first transaction. ! (John Booth-Sales). He gave me keys to a Honda CRV, which I knew was out of my price range, I had already explained what I wanted and what I could afford with the General Manager. before going to the dealership. ! John and the Sales Manager Anthony informed me that I was approved, but my interest rate would be 17%. That wasnt a problem. My credit is horrible, I went through a divorce, and my credit was ruined in the process so I understand the high interest rate. I was told that the down payment of 1200.00 would be covered by the extended Honda warranty that I purchased. I was also offered a trade of 12000.00 which would leave me 3555.00 negative on my current loan with Santander. Then the salesmen John handed me the agreement . The car payment was going to be 689.00 per month. ! What.?! My current payment is 436.00 with an interest rate of 24.99 %. why in the xxxx would I want to pay 689.00 per month. I explained that I am in the process of refinancing my house, and that I will not be able to refinance with a car payment that high. I asked for a Jeep Patriot from another location and was told that they were not able to sell cars from other Jeff Wyler organizations. I left the dealership without the car and went to the Eastgate location where my car was being towed for the transmission problem. I asked for help with trading the Mazda for a Jeep , and I explained what happened at the Honda location. I was then told that my car is only worth 9000.00 because it had been in a major accident before I purchased it. ! Really.? So how did this car with transmission issues, and damage from a major wreck become "Certified Used". That would make me 6,555.00 in the negative on my current car loan. I contacted the owner, and instead of helping me, he contacted the same General Manager from Jeff Wyler Honda. He did not have the decency to call me himself and discuss my problem. Clearly there are several problems with this transaction from day one. The fact that Jeff Wyler blew me off tells me that he does not care about ANYTHING OR ANYBODY. ! ALL HE CARES ABOUT IS MONEY. ! He is a millionare, and could have easily instructed the dealership to ladjust the negative equity of 6555.00 ! .Or he could have adjusted the amount of the Honda CRV to make if affordable for me.! Silly me I was expecting him to understand and help me with this matter, but what was I thinking. !? He didnt become a millionaire by being fair. ! He became a millionare by cheating people like me out of their hard earned money . !!!!!! F.Y.I. - I do not want to hear a response from anybody from the Jeff Wyler organization. ! YOUR APOLOGIES ARE AS WORTHLESS AS THE ""CERTIFIED USED" STAMP YOU PUT ON MY PEICE OF CRAP CAR. !!!!!!!We would like to express our apologies, although you asked us not to, for your bad experience with our dealership. We are sorry we were unable to find a resolution that would make you happy.
In a follow up to the post and our subsequent apology, we would like to go into a little further detail. The Jeff Wyler family of dealerships takes all allegations of employee or institutional misconduct or unprofessionalism, including that involving alleged discriminatory practices, very seriously. A thorough investigation of this transaction indicates that no act of racial or gender discrimination occurred by any employee or representative of the dealership. While the dealership unequivocally denies all of the allegations, it is making efforts to satisfy this customer's concerns in accordance with the high level of service that customers of the Jeff Wyler family of dealerships have come to experience over the past 40 years.
Excellent!
by emoon on 07/28/2015Tom was great! I went in Honda needing to buy a new car. I have had my '98 Accord for 12 years and it was time but I love Hondas. I wanted an upgrade at an affordable price. Tom worked with me on finding the exact car I wanted at an… affordable price. He looked at my price range, what kind of car I was looking for and was completely upfront about my options. He was very patient while I decided. He even came and picked my car up and took it to get the protection coat on it! He was excellent with the whole process and made it even easier as my first time getting a new car. I would recommend Colerain Honda and Thomas Frede to anyone.New Accord
by gittinger on 04/01/2015Will was awesome! He worked with me to get me what I need and was very friendly. This is my second car from Jeff Wyler Honda and it won't be my last! Thanks again!Best car buying experience EVER!!
by tep2232 on 03/21/2015Byron was excellent from the second we got out of our old car. We were there for just a little over an hour and left with a new car!! The service was outstanding, the team was incredibly quick and yet we never felt pressured or rushed.… Byron listened to us, walked the lot with us and then answered every question professionally and courteously. Thank you Byron and Team!!Amazing Service!
by cmg0413 on 03/16/2015This was my first time buying a new car and everyone at Jeff Wyler Colerain was so helpful. The sales representative, Idan, was so quick at responding to my emails if I had any questions or doubts and that's ultimately what led me to their… business. Not helpful when you need it.
by mazdafun on 07/13/2014updated 03/13/2015I had a recurring issue with bad smells coming out of the HVAC system soon after purchase. They made three attempts to fix it, the first two which they covered under warranty, but the third which they charged me over $500 for and still… didn't fix the issue. They want to charge for 10 hours of labor to get at the evaporator box to replace it (where I think the source is), but they won't cover it. American Honda won't cover it. The issue got so bad the interior of the car not smells musty even without running the HVAC system. I've filed a Lemon Law complaint on the car, requesting a full refund. Dealer won't provide a loaner car, American Honda's case manager won't return my calls anymore, including my request for a loaner car, so I pretty much was faced with continuing to drive a vehicle that blew musty, moldy air at me. Faced with having to use an N95 or N100 with organic vapor control respirators and with the windows at least partially open just to avoid some really severe mold exposure symptoms, I decided to lease another vehicle instead of further risking my health. I don't blame the techs. They did the best they could. I lay this at the feet of the dealership's management and American Honda, and of course, Honda's new Celaya, Mexico plant. Between labor issues, theft damage issues, I'm not surprised more people have been reporting problems with their 2015 Honda Fits as more people buy them. Honda should have done what Mazda recently did with their new Mazda 2 from their new Mexico plant and delay sale of produced vehicles until all build quality issues have been fixed. I retract my initial positive review of the salesperson. As soon as I started mentioning the HVAC system repairs didn't resolve the issue, he stopped returning my messages. Buyer beware. This place is wonderful!
by mrsmaybe on 03/08/2015I got a 2013 Honda Fit from this dealership. I was so in love with that car. I saw the 2015 Fit and loved it as well. They had a vehicle exchange program that worked out great for us. Everyone in the dealership was very nice to us but… Adam Heltemes helped us. That man was wonderful. He was full of information and didn't have to run off to find the answers to our questions. He gave us the time we needed to consider our options. Once we decided to upgrade he kept us informed of what was happening so we weren't just waiting and wondering. I love my new car! I am more than happy with ALL the experiences I've had with this dealership (including the service department.) Also, we fully plan on going back when my husband needs a new car and will recommend this dealership to anyone who asks. A huge thank you to Adam.Best experience ever
by johncincy51 on 03/01/2015I met with Adam Heltemes and purchased a 2012 Kia Soul. Adam is a friendly and professional salesperson who treated me with respect and courteousness. No high pressure and deal and was quickly completed to my satisfaction. I highly… recommend Adam Heltemes and Jeff Wyler Honda as an excellent place to buy a car and a super person to buy it from.2015 Honda Pilot
by Jack513 on 02/06/2015I just received my 2015 Honda Pilot. I dealt with Aaron Frisk and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Jeff Wyler Honda was very competitive on price and anxious to meet my specific needs. When I picked up my vehicle yesterday, Aaron… went through all the specs with me and showed me how to use all of the electronic features. Thanks for making the process painless.Amazing Experience!!!
by aholt0314 on 01/14/2015I was involved in in an accident last week, so I simply was looking for numbers and an idea of what I could afford. I test drove the new Honda Fit and fell in love. I told Aaron and the guys what I was looking for and they came back in no… time at all with terms I felt comfortable with. I did not feel over pressured to do something I did not want to, which is something that has happened in the past at other dealerships. Every single person I came in contact with was very nice and helpful. They even put me in contact with an Allstate agent who saved me more money on car insurance. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat.Friendly and professional staff
by Jinto on 01/10/2015We were looking to purchase a new Honda CRV during the holidays, and was shopping around looking for the dealership that offered the best price along with the required model and color. While Jeff Wyler had all that we wanted, what made us… choose this dealership is the professional, helpful and friendly staff that we dealt with - specifically Adam Heltemes and John Booth. We are more than satisfied with our purchase experience, and would recommend this dealership to our family and friends.Great experience

It definitely should have been explained to you that any value given on your trade vehicle without it being inspected could differ from the actual value after inspection. It is our fault that our staff did not make this clear to you and we have trained them on how it is to be handled in the future. We are sorry for the inconvenience it caused.
