Service review for my 2021 Forester
by EKSUBRU21 on 07/19/2025I was pleased with my experience at Schaumburg Subaru. Appointment scheduling and check in is automated, and I was able to connect with my service adviser soon after arriving. The advisor was very thorough as he explained the steps and… time needed to assemble, install, and test the new key fob, check the condition of the vehicle battery, and replace the engine oil. The advisor also mentioned that he would provide periodic updates about job progress and let me know if any problems were detected. He contacted me when work was near completion and told me when to meet him at the service desk. After my Subaru had been checked and test driven, my advisor reviewed the worklist with me and demonstrated how some of the items worked. We checked the bill together, and I agreed that the prices for parts and labor were fair and reasonable. I was especially happy that I did not have to replace the vehicle battery. My advisor, KM, answered several questions I had about my car, and provided his phone number along with an invitation to call if I had any questions or needed to make a service appointment. (Very good customer service!)one superb technician
by danvee333 on 05/21/2024The mechanic who serviced my Subaru Crosstrek was cordial, knew is profession and kept me apprised of progress. Never been a better one in Chicagoland or elsewhere. They should raise his pay and promote him!Hi, thank you for your kind words! We're happy we could help. We hope to be of service to you again! Take care!
My review
by None at all on 03/20/2023Was advised of what was needed at 30,000 miles and had it done…great communication .. friendly and knowledgeable advisorsHorrible Customer Service
by VB on 11/06/2021The service advisor is rude, confrontational and his attitude makes you feel like anything he does is a favor to the customer. He refused to honor a service coupon because I did not present it up front. The problem is that the coupon I… presented was for a service that they recommended after my initial check in. When I expressed my dissatisfaction he continued to argue with me that all coupons had to be presented at check in. I once again pointed out that the coupon was not applicable initially. He eventually honored the coupon stating that he would never accommodate me like this again. No worries, he won’t have that option, as I will never go there for service again. I understand policy but this was simply irrational and the attitude and hostility displayed was way out of line. If this is the person chosen to represent the service department, the owners need to evaluate this choice.Hello, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. We would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to our General Manager, Chris Napleton at subaru@napletonmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
Service Center or a Proctology Office?
by Hurtin on 09/09/2019Terrible. I wouldn't take my VCR here to get fixed. Service writers are unethical and this dealer is a shame to all dealers and that's pretty sad. You're better off paying someone to kick you where it hurts because at least you can move… on with life faster. Thanks for reaching out to us. We work hard to provide each of our clients with the best automotive experience, but it sounds like we really let you down. Please reach out to our General Manager, Chris Napleton at subaru@napletonmail.com so we can discuss the details of your visit in hopes of restoring your confidence back in our dealership. We hope to hear from you soon.

Unable to repair
by Disappointed on 03/11/2019updated 03/19/2019Expensive radio with all the features. The problem: it doesn’t work, no repair in sight, software updates do not work, radio is worse after updating, worthless dealer, service department very poor.We are disappointed to learn of your experience here at Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru. Please contact our General Manager, Chris Napleton, at subaru@napletonmail.com when you have an opportunity, and we will be more than happy to try and turn your experience around.
Mr G. Kush
by George Kush on 03/07/2019updated 03/15/2019Great help from service writer and tech. Engine change done very quickly upon approval of Subaru. Loaner car was excellent. Car is now running great with no excessive oil consumption. Would recommend this dealer for service. Changed a… timing belt and belt tensioners along with short block exchange. This added service was on advice from tech. Minimal cost for parts as labor was already covered with engine swap. He suggested this added service while he had the engine apart saving me additional labor on my Forrester. His name was Aaron and the writer was Keith. Great job guys..Hi George, we're very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. Take care!
Maintenance
by rferguson10 on 11/19/2018updated 11/29/2018Informative and timelyAvoid this hellhole at any cost.
by Baetjka on 03/02/2015If there was a way to give negative stars here I would have. This was absolutely the worst shopping/ car buying/ customer service experience of my entire life! Having read Yelp reviews of this place before arriving I thought the comments… were a joke. The only jokes were the staff and management at Napletons Schaumburg Subaru and their policy of buying a car without being able to test drive it. Having spent a pleasant day with my boyfriend test driving luxury cars at other dealers, we decided to end the day test driving the WRX. We should have quit while we were ahead. After walking in and having at least one employee deny he even worked there (he was wearing a Napletons embroidered shirt) we sat down with a sales consultant. Not sure you could call her that as she not only would not listen to what we were saying but knew less about the cars in question than my 2 year old nephew. When we finally got to see the car we wanted, we were informed that we could not test drive it until we went through the financing options. The reasons given were just plain ridiculous: 1) We do things back to front. (You mean backasswards? Buy a car then drive it?) 2) People have died in Subaru test drives. (Ok?...What does that have to do with financing?) 3) WRX drivers dont want to buy a car that has miles on it. (I had a WRX purchased elsewhere for 11 years and while I loved it, this isnt a Lamborghini or even an Audi. Maybe a dealership should have more than one of a car to use for test driving?) In the end we were presented with numbers and asked that if we drove the car and like it would we be purchasing the car that evening? Being intelligent human beings who want to think about our options we said no. We were then informed with no tact, professionalism or politeness by both the consultant and the manager that we could leave. If you want to be treated like an idiot and bullied into buying a car Napletons is the place for you. Otherwise avoid this hellhole at any cost.I'm sorry you had a frustrating experience during your visit. With the extremely high demand for WRX and very low supply (the cars you saw in question had arrived in the last 48 hours and at least one had not been prepped at the time of your visit) we are forced to look at financial details of the transaction prior to the test drive. We have lost several sales on WRX due to the mileage on the vehicle at time of sale (customers opted not to purchase a car because it had 20 miles on it from prior test drives) and have been forced to respond. We certainly allow our customers to test drive vehicles, but with WRX it is not the first element of the process like it is with most of our other models. I do apologize for the unprofessional taste you were left with. Your business is personally important to me and if there's something I can do to rectify the situation I'm happy to help. Napleton doesn't honor their own coupons!
by funnotc02 on 03/15/2011updated 07/22/2025I received a letter from Subaru that congratulates me on the purchase of my new 2011 WRX STI and for being a valued customer I will receive a $9.95 oil and filter change. I took the car to the Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru dealership where I… purchased the car and set up a oil change appointment. They then told me that the cost of the o...il change would be $62 I said no the letter states that it should cost $9.95. They said that synthetic oil is not included. The letter has no disclaimer stating that this is the case. On the contrary it says that my car by name is eligible for this price oil change. I will no longer be going to Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru for any of my needs. I recommend no one buys a car or goes to Napleton Subaru for their service need. Wish no stars was an option!
Hi, thanks for your great review, and for giving our dealership such a high star rating! Thank you so much for choosing Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru as your first choice for service!
