Never honored test drive offer
by FJB on 05/01/2025Never honored the $75 test drive offer on their website and were extremely rude when asked to redeem it.Dishonest dealer
by Chad on 02/23/2025I found a truck listed for sale at Big Star for what seemed to be a good price, so I contacted them by phone to ask about addons. The salesman "Mike" said the price is exactly what it is listed for and there were not any addons. I live… about an hour from the dealership, so I decided to make the drive. After looking at the truck to confirm that it was as advertised we went inside to talk money. Right off the bat they hit me with 8 thousand dollars of dealer addons, after telling me there were none. The sales people at this dealership are 100% dishonest [non-permissible content removed]. This is one place I will never shop again!Bogus deal
by Raven348 on 08/28/2017Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my experience. The salesman never gave me an exact quote for my jeep Cherokee sport. Also, after doing research the salesman was telling me the car was worth around $30,000 when in reality it was… worth around 25k . The salesman also brought out paper work showing me numbers for a jeep latitude yet I ws given a jeep sport. In other words, he was trying to make me pay for a more expensive vehicle while giving me a completely differing model that was thousands of dollars cheaper. The only reason I found out something was wrong was when I tried to turn in the car after test driving it for the weekend. What a surprise, the paper work didn't match the vehicle. So please make sure you triple check everything when purchasing from this dealership or when purchasing a vehicle period. Salesmen will definitely try to get over you if you don't do your research.Horrible experience. No customer service
by lindsaydh on 08/09/2017The worst experience with sales I've ever had. The sales man told me he was just a middle man and my opinion was just my opinion. And the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE MANAGER asked me if I was done when I told him about my experience and told him I… was tired of their excuses. I am literally speechless. There were several individuals that were helpful, Jon Fontenot (preowned director), Matt (the photo guy), make ready And service were good too. But the experience was So terrible I can't give a good rating. Btw do not speak to Howard he is unbelievably rude. Update went to dealership today to make sure to get paperwork for extra things we apparently purchased. When the GM Kenny Young told me I was just there to complain everyday. He told me I was ruining everyone there's livelihood and I was also told that they don't sit on the phone. I am even more speechless than before. The only reason I have been to the dealership is to pick up my vehicle or a part that was supposed to be ready, but was not. They do not respect anyone. Once you have purchased your vehicle you are simply a number. I was avoided by my salesman how else can I get paperwork or parts that were promised(keys, airvents). This is the dealership that gives dealerships a bad name.My overall experience
by Lisandrade_15 on 07/25/2017I went in to this dealership to see about trading in my jeep wrangler for a new one. Angel Lazo approached us and took really good care of us. He was very good and answered any questions we had. We were out of their with a new car and very… happy in no time. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.Car Sales
by Missblackmon on 04/14/2017Mr..Brooks and Slayden did an AWESOME job helping me get into my dream car...I went to the dealership just browsing for a Jeep Wrangler not looking to by but Mr. Brooks and Slayden provided such great customer service I decided to go ahead… and get it and everyone at the dealership was so nice...I've bought my last 3 vehicles with Clearlake Dodge Awesome dealershipService Recovery
by Jimmy1953 on 02/24/2017I purchased the car over the internet. Many similar problems as others have had. However, when I got to the dealership some 600 miles away, the staff worked diligently to resolve every problem encountered. Service recovery efforts by their… sales manager and her staff was exceptional as was the service department. Their BBB rating does not reflect the personal service I received. The worst experience!!!!
by Jolly26 on 08/07/2016This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have purchased more than 20 vehicles in my life and I wouldn't take a vehicle from them if they were giving it away for free just to never strep foot on that dealership… again. They lie and scam to get you there then once you're there they treat you terrible. I am sad to be writing this honestly because this is the first negative review I have ever written about a company. I work in a major customer service industry (property management) and I would be appalled if my staff or team treated someone the way they treat their customers. I am very big on reviews and I am always the one boosting about how amazing people are because I don't believe people give enough good credit and always talked about the worst. Unfortunately I couldn't keep this one to my self as others were being treated the same while I was there. On a good note, there were some great salesman that were very helpful and nice but unfortunately I got to deal with a few very unpleasant [non-permissible content removed]. I really just want to write this in hopes it gets to the right people and also warn anyone of the scams. I wouldn't wish that type of customer service on anyone. I did end up going to Ron Carter Chrysler the same day and purchased the exact same vehicle for $4,000 less and a better interest rate through the same bank?? How weird it was for that to happen. One if the worst experiences of my life. Cindy is hands down the most unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful person I have ever encountered.Do not purchase your next vehicle at Clear Lake Dodge!!!
by 2010charger on 07/09/2010I could go on and on about my horrible car buying experience. But, there isn't enough time and space to put it all down! Let me first just give this advice --- If you are a female, do not enter this dealership alone. Make sure you bring… a husband, male friend, boyfriend, etc. with you. They will take advantage of you if you do not have someone there to stand up with you, not to mention it's smart to have another set of ears there to make it easier to point out the all the bull crap lines and deceptive sales tactics they use at this dealership. I was lied to numerous times, I was mistreated by the Financial Manager to the point I was in tears and I was ignored by my sales guy on several occasions. Make sure that before you sign that car agreement that any extras is covered and if any upgrades are made, make sure they have ordered the parts promised to you. I bought my car and then was told that I would need to come back in to have my windows tinted and an upgraded radio installed. It took me 4 wasted trips, talking to a Sales Manager, and sending a really nasty email to the General Manager to get this all done --- 2 weeks after I bought my car. Then, when I went in to pick up my car, my radio was not the radio I was promised. My "upgrade" was the same radio that was in my 08 Charger! Be smarter than I was! If you pull up in the Clear Lake Dodge driveway, keep on going --- don't stop there! I will never darken their doorway again! Oh - and did I mention, I was a repeat customer! I bought my 08 Charger at this dealership!! I wasn't impressed in 08 and now in 2010 I'm done! They might keep changing management, hoping for improvement, but they are doomed because they are all a bunch of unprofessionals!! Ask around about this dealership. I didn't. When people asked me what was wrong and where I bought my car, I was told by at least 18 people (in one day) that everyone at this dealership was a [violative content deleted]! I normally wouldn't take the time to answer reviews like this. But, I want everyone to listen to my warning and hopefully you won't have a bad experience like I did. If you're on the search for a new or used car --- I wish you the very best!Awful service. Please take your business elsewhere.
by advonl on 11/18/2009My mother purchased a truck from Clear Lake Dodge. She noticed an imperfection on the side of truck and they promised to fix the minor scratch. After about 2 months the scratch was finally fixed but the paint job was horrible. Low budget in… my view. First of all, they painted the whole side of the truck (unnecessary) and on top of that the color did not even match. After some debate they agreed to fix THEIR mistake. They gave my mother the run around for about 2 weeks. Finally after calling every single day, they told her to drop off her truck so they could fix it. This process took 6 days. When she was contacted because her car was ready, the salesman was very RUDE to her. She explained that she was sick with the swain flu and would be unable to bring the car in until the next morning. He said he did not care and wanted the car back that day. The sales people, management and service department has proven to be rude and incompetent. I would suggest you take your business [elsewhere] if you must get service. I would suggest NOT buying a dodge if you are shopping around. Then you can avoid dealing with these people.Poor Communication, Poor service overall
by houston13 on 12/16/2008While taking my truck in for service, I was originally told that service would be completed by the end of the day. Later that afternoon, I was told that they had to get parts from Dallas, and that parts generally arrived in the morning,… and that my truck would be ready by 1-2pm the next day. Janie Mercer indicated that she would make check on the parts in the morning, and let me know if there were any problems. I did not receive a call in the morning, and assumed that the work was progressing as scheduled. To check on the work and confirm that my truck would be ready by 1-2pm, I called at approximately 12pm and was told that "the work was progressing as scheduled." She said she would need to check with the man completing the service, but she said it would be done shortly. She then called back at approximately 2pm to tell me that the parts did not arrive because of weather delays--and that they would need to keep my truck for another day What really bothered me was the poor communication. It was clear that when I first called at noon, she did not have any clue about the progress of my truck, nor the delay in receiving parts. It was only after the lunch break that she called to alert me of the problem. At this time, I was obviously dismayed--as not having a vehicle for over two days was going to be a signficant harship. I asked if I would be able to get a loaner truck at this time and was told that they did not have any--I would just have to wait till it was ready. In total, I felt like they completely disregarded their customers time and obligations and would not recommend this dealership for service if other options are available. I don't quite know how they were awarded a "five-star" by dodge/chrysler.New Vehicle Damaged Upon Possession and Never Repaired
by chris311 on 01/28/2012updated 06/01/2025I purchased a brand new Dodge Ram 1500 with the ram boxes in June 2010. I paid the dealership to have the bed sprayed with Rhino Liner, which they contracted out to a 3rd party. Three days later I went to the dealership to take possession… of my new truck (until then, I had never taken possession) and found that the driver's side ram box was damaged. I was assured by the Internet Sales Manager, Lincoln Stahl, not to worry. He told me to take my new truck home and enjoy it and that he would order the piece to fix it and let me know when it comes in. So, trusting that it would be remedied (after all, it was a brand new truck with a great warranty) I left the dealership with my new (slightly damaged) truck. Six months and many calls later, the truck was finally repaired. Then the very next day the ram box broke again, same piece for which I had been waiting > 6 months. Clearly, the wrong piece was replaced. Turns out the entire ram box lid was in need of replacement. Again, I was told to go home and don't worry about it. They sent a technician, Gerran, outside to take pictures of the damaged area and said they would order the proper part this time. Fast forward 1 yr 7 months. I STILL have a broken ram box. After numerous calls over many, many months to the Service Manager, Robert Jackson, to the Internet Sales Manager, Lincoln Stahl, and to the technician, Gerran, who took the pictures, we never received return phone calls. Ultimately, I contacted Dodge Corp and finally got the issue resolved under warranty. So, after waving good-bye and allowing me to leave the Clear Lake dealership with a broken truck one year and seven months ago, and assuring me that they would fix it, that dealership was willing to allow me to swallow a $1200 repair that was not my fault at all. These people are not honest and I will never allow them to even change my oil, much less buy another vehicle from them. And I will never recommend them to a friend. I find it utterly amazing that the Dealership owner puts such unprofessional, dishonest personnel, in particular Robert Jackson, in Management positions. This dealership's lack of judgment not only cost them a loss of a customer for life, but countless other customers who saw the seemingly poor craftsmanship of a brand new Dodge truck with a broken rambox for 1 1/2 yrs and through word of mouth and communications such as this. If only people would treat others as they would want to be treated, nothing more.Good experience
