The Service Depts lack of Services
by Npb36879 on 12/08/2015I will say the good thing is when there is ever a recall on my outlander they handle it very quickly now I also had a warranty issue and that was expected to take most of the day to fix. Given that I only have one at most two days off a… week when I am off I need to get a lot of things handled - there are NO loaner vehicles offered from the service department even when you purchase your vehicle from them and are still completely under warranty. I do not know if this is a Mitsubishi thing A North Texas Mitsubishi thing or a Don hearing thing but I have had several vehicles throughout the years and no matter who it was with (Toyota, Chevy, Nissan, And Kia) if I ever took my vehicle into their shop to have services done on my car I was allowed a loaner vehicle without having to pay out-of-pocket to get a rental . I find it a massive disappointment, big enough of one in fact, I will now be going to trade my vehicle my next weekend off for a different brand. I've unfortunately found my experience with Mitsubishi and what they offer me to be very disappointing.Throttle Body Repair
by Diamond35 on 04/20/2015JT is excellent. He is always helpful and understanding. He is a great service advisor. He always keeps me up to date of the repairs and money I invest in my car. He has really helped me keep my car running for the past 8 years. Thanks… JT!!Disappointed... warranty wash out experience
by newid on 07/19/2009I bought a 2001 Galant from this dealership - decent buying experience and small maintenance stuff... Now comes the big part... I had bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty from these guys that would (supposedly) cover repairs to the… engine and transmission. My car engine recently died due to radiator problems. This is less than 3 months after I had a 15k check done at the same dealership and got a clean [violative content deleted] (and spent nearly a thousand bucks). So, I go back to them (the warranty is still valid), and they completely washed their hands off the matter... saying radiator is not covered, this caused that and that led to that... also gave me BS like "the warranty is with a third party... blah blah... never mind I had bought the warranty and the car from them. To top it all, they charged me 500 bucks to investigate the matter and make an estimate. Obviously the estimate for repairs was 70% of the cost of the car. I got the car fixed from another place at a much lower cost, and it's doing fine now... but was extremely peeved at the attitude of the service guys. Not sure what I can do to bring the scamsters to task... I would really like to. Oh.. And one more thing... they gave a "suggestion" of getting the car fixed from them and trading it for a new Endeavor... no matter that the company did not bring out an '09 model (foresight???) and the only '08 they had on the lot sucked! Extremely disappointing experience... and a sorry end to an almost-4 year relationship.Nice experience at Don Herring Mitsubishi
by scottindfw on 08/16/2007I was fleeing my local high-pressure Mitsubishi dealership when I found the Don Herring Mitsubishi website and printed off a coupon for a Spring Maintenance Package. They did a brake check, an oil change, tire rotation, and fluid… top-off/check and it was about $80. I used to get this kind of service deal with my last car (a Chrysler Sebring) and I enjoyed taking advantage of their seasonal promotions. When I pulled up to the service bay, I had the service experience that I expected and appreciate: I told the service writer what I wanted done and that's all there was to it. There were no high-pressure tactics. Since it was a Saturday morning, the department was busy and I did have to wait about an hour or so, but they had a roomy waiting area and I took along a book. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with the experience and felt it was well worth the additional drive time. I wish I had bought my Mitsubishi from this dealership.Poor service
by ondrece on 06/15/2013updated 09/02/2025Very disappointed! Again, I took my car to the service department in Plano because the internal car chargers on my 2011 endeavor continues to blow the fuse. This was my third trip regarding the same issue. The car is still under warranty… with only 26K miles. On the first service trip they charged me $8 and told me that the fuse had blown. They replaced the fuse. When I tried to use my charger again, the fuse blew. I took the car in a second time. They told me that they needed to replace a receptacle for the charger and it would take a few days to get the part. They called and told me that the part had arrived so I scheduled the appointment. I got to the dealership and they refused to give me a ride to work so I had to wait on them to complete the service. They installed the receptacle but the fuse still blew. The service person J.T. told me that I could only use a duracell charger and not the other chargers that i use for my GPS or DVD players. I told the service advisor that I have always used my GPS and DVD chargers. He told me that he couldn't resolve the issue and that I should get an extension cord and use the back charger. As it turns out, the fuse still blew when using the charger they recommended. Wow...that's just the type of service and response that you would hope. Right? So I left as I needed to get to work. They didn't even give a me any documentation on the last visit. I wonder why? Now I will need to take more time off work to find a different mitsu dealership that can resolve the issue.Great Service & Sales
by exlee on 06/08/2012updated 09/02/2025I've always had great experiences at Don Herring Mitsubishi. I have had a Mitsubishi since 2001. I purchased my first one elsewhere but started going to the Plano location for service after my sister suggested it and I found out they were… less expensive than a local mechanic shop. Larry and the others have always been great. Then, when I needed another car, I was considering a Lancer, when Charles suggested I test drive an Eclipse, which I didn't even consider because my sister had one and it was a bit cramped. Well, Charles did his job as I am now still loving my Eclipse! You guys are great! Thank you!Excellent service guaranteed
by jmotayne on 05/29/2012updated 09/02/2025My son took his 2009 LANCER to Don Herring Mitsubishi Plano for servicing on several occasions. Not one time did he had any complains. The service provider called me with detailed explanation of what the issue was and how they are going to… fix it. They advised that the service was covered under the guarantee and recommended a specific time to drop off and pick up my vehicle. I would definitely say it is service with a smile. Thank you, Don Herring Mitsubishi of Plano.A great place to have one's car serviced.

by jblume on 05/29/2012updated 09/02/2025I bought my mitsubishi from Don Herring in Plano almost three years ago and only take my car to their service department. In the last two and half years, they have been great with giving me what the cost of service will be and if it changes… they give me a phone call to let me know the price has changed. I love that they have always been able to get my car done with in the time frame they give me, they don't try to upsell me on services that are not needed and that they constantly communicate with me, while my car is in the shop.
