Great Experience!
by Figs155 on 01/11/2017Derek was our salesman he contacted me as soon as requested a quote online. We worked out a time we could meet at the dealership and he was never pushy with over contacting me. When it came to the test drive he let my wife and I just enjoy… the car and gave us any knowledge we didn't know about the model. Cody in Finance was a huge help for us. He got our payment and interest that we could afford, and he really made the purchase personal. I honestly didn't think we were leaving with a new car until we left his office. Great Salesman and Great Financer. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The right sales person can make all the difference.
by Brilugo on 01/07/2017I initially was set up with Brandon but after going in circles a few days ended up with Brian Davis. He listened to my needs and my budget then found me a car that was everything I wanted it to be. Being a first time car buyer, financing… was a worry for me but I got pre-approved through Capital One and that made it a lot easier. Honestly though Brian Davis made all the difference in our experience at Big Star Ford.Awesome dealership and service

Cody in Finance was just as amazing. The process went smoothly. I would definitely recommend… Kraig to my friends and family.Sales Review

by Delacriox on 05/15/2016Found a F-150 Lariat truck online, looked clean and ready to go. I called and I asked if I can come and test drive it, the sales person confirmed that I can and said that it would be ready for me when I come. I went to the dealership and it… WAS ready for a test drive, so I did. Salesperson (Sorry don't remember his name, but he was a tall white young person) was knowledgeable and answered my questions, technical and financial, he also clarified things for me regarding the differences between all these different trims, this was my first F-150 and I wasn't very knowledgeable in their trims and features. Finance was a breeze, took about 2 hours then I was on my way home driving my sweet truck! I don't know what went wrong with other people who rated the dealership low, but If you have bad credit or are unwilling to put a large down payment for an expensive truck, maybe you shouldn't be thinking about getting a new vehicle now! They can't and won't give you vehicles for free! This is a profit driven business.Big star should be BIG JOKE
by Soopergolfr on 12/16/2015Too bad can't give 0 stars! Used car department is the most rediculous excuse for a business model I have ever been unfortunately involved in. Sales price online was $2000 lower than price when trying to negotiate. When I inquired about… this, was told that the Internet price had not been updated since service was performed. What service I asked? Well not sure but I can get that info for you. Decided to go see the them in person as the salesman never called me back concerning my offer. When I called him the next day, he said sales manager was supposed to call me back. He then told me I was more likely to make a deal in person. No problem. I'll drive 45 minutes out of my way to try to deal. Internet price was lowered by $306! But what about those service charges? Well apparently that's a different department. Anyways, asked for a deal. Same numbers as last night. Didn't even come down the $306. I agreed to come up $1000.00 on my offer. They said they would not come down. But what about the $306.00 Internet price reduction? " I'm sorry but that's the bed we can do". I guess I am not their type of customer...all my teeth, credit score over 800, and an ability to add and subtract. Luckily there are dealerships that want to sell vehicles while having a little decency and respect for people's time.misled
by runandride on 01/24/2015A brochure stating that they would pay 110% black book or a price they came up with of 35k for my trade in...Deal made, offered 11k under the 35k offer and 90 % of black book. They said they had no room for the prices in the brochure. I… left after a couple hours of wasted time. A deceitful and falsley advertised brochureImprove customer service
by A_Co on 11/14/2014I worked with Mr. Derek Frank and Mr. Sky DeJohn. Both were close to me in making sure I got the car I was looking within my budget. I see opportunities with the customer service. The advertised internet price end up with a high value as… they start to introduce, by default, cost related with the car inspection, plus the additional coverages they offer (which by the way has a different name like accesories, etc). Base on my experience, I recommend to read with attention the final number they present to you. In my opinion, they should advertise in the internet the real final price they will offer (specific with the recharges for certified cars, etc). There are hidden costs in my opinion. Took to me over 6 hours to close a deal because of these situation, until somebody was able to listen to my needs. Any customer is different, and the customer service team (specific the sales department) should worked on the attention to details specific to the customer they are dealing with. Bottom line, I think Big Star Ford is a place to visit when looking for a pre-owned car. Do you pre-work and be prepared for a potential changes in final prices if you set your budget base on the internet price plus the mandatory TTL fees. Special thanks to the finance manager who explained several questions related with car garantees (that should be explained with the sales person in advance).Never buy a vehicle from Big Star
by beto_21 on 06/26/2014Beware of the add-on accessories they have on the vehicles - all of the them. You'll pay for lots of things you do not want nor need in a vehicle. Accessories such as $600 for coating protection or $195 for tiny lines on the side of the… vehicle which BIG STAR calls racing stripes. Prices are sometimes lower than other dealerships, but they will get you with the accessories. Also, make sure you do your homework if they have rebates on vehicles. Know how much you are getting from the manufacturer, and how the discount the dealership it's giving you. Finally, be aware, very aware of the financing person. Financing is the real "Closer" for every dealership. Everything the financing person sells/gives you (e.i.; rates, insurance and warranties) are 100% revenue for the dealership. Even if you bring your own pre-approval offer with lower interest rate, they will try the hardest to get you to finance with them. They lied to me about my financing rate, and I ended up settling with a rate higher I would have gotten elsewhere. Do not going to bother with Big Star Fod. You'll be better off going elsewhere. It is hard for us to get reviews like this, but we do appreciate your honest feedback. Our customers' feedback is what helps us change for the better. We're sorry that you felt like you got a bad deal. We want each person that walks away from our dealership to feel they have had an excellent experience. Please take a moment to call our General Manager, David Premazon, at (713) 960-9800 to discuss what more we can do to make this right.
Take your truck here... if you never want to see it again!!!
by bputch79 on 03/26/2010I dropped my truck off because of a strange noise it was making and it had no power. This isn't just any truck, this is my work truck. My source of income. They did the diagnostic test and said they knew what it was and it would be ready… the next day. Next day, $1800 later, ($1150 in labor alone!!! for one day!! what labor?? don't ask me!) I went to pick it up, didn't even make it 1/2 mile down the road. Brought it back. After much attitude and disrespect, the next day they said it needed a new turbo. 2 days later, $900 more, they claimed it was fixed, so instead of going all the way over there to be disappointed, we had the MANAGER test drive it. He, himself, stated he would be pissed off if it were his truck. The truck had no power at all. So they wanted to continue their guessing game, and took 2 more days to come up with another expensive problem and screw me out of more money. In this time, I went to drive it myself, and it was worse than when I brought it in!!!! I thought someone was playing a joke!! Like the show Overhaulin'!! I wasn't going to leave it there any longer, but the manager told me if this time they couldn't fix it, the mechanic would cover all the parts charges, $700. He wasn't going to screw up this time. ; ) The 3rd time is the charm. This time, after the full week's time of useless labor and parts charges that were completely unneccessary, they found the problem!!! Gee, a diesel mechanic finding the problem on a diesel truck?? Who would have thought!! Someone give this guy, and manager Dan, an award. Total time: 9 days Total Cost: $3,100 Total miles added to the truck while being "worked on": 90 miles (i guess driving it around is quite laborious!) This service crew and service managerial staff, are such a joke. I would be utterly embarrassed to have my customers wait that long and spend that much. I guess its a persons work ethics. Or lack of. Only Southern Ford mechanics and Meteorologists are allowed to be that wrong and still keep their job.State Inspection
by kudocrx on 05/07/2011updated 07/08/2025Two months ago, I took my wife's car in for the state inspection at Southern Ford. I was a little surprised when they called to let me know that it had failed due to the wipers, because they were less than 6 months old. But, I agreed to… allow them to replace the blades for $40, rather than hassle to bring it back again. Fast-forward to present, I take my car in to the Southern Ford Dealership for the state inspection. Having learned my lesson, I stop by AutoZone and pick up new windshield wiper blades and exchange them before taking my car to the dealership. As I'm test driving two vehicles with their salesman, the service department calls to say my car has failed because the wiper blades need replaced. Coincidence??? I told the service department manager that I had just exchanged them less than 2 hours ago. He proceeds to show me that the driver-side blade is torn. To me it looks as if, someone pinched the blade and tore the edge for 3 inches. The kicker, the receipt for the new blades is lying on the passenger seat. I grew up on a farm and have been maintaining my own vehicle since I was a kid. I have never had a pair of blades last for less than 2 hours. I will not be doing business of any kind with Southern Ford again.Purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion
by pearland1 on 03/27/2013updated 07/08/2025This last week I purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion and the buying experience was excellent. I came into the dealership to look at 2013 Fusions and they had the exact car with options that I was interested in. Within a few hours the deal was… completed. Non stress and very friendly direct sales was experienced.
