  • Exceptional, a word I use carefully in my 70 years

    My experience purchasing a new Subaru Forester from West Houston Subaru, with the outstanding help from salesman Troy Lynn has been a rare experience in how good people and a dealership can be. Mr. Lynn made me a better price, for a more equipped Forester than I had arranged through the net. I mentioned to him that I was having a minor hassle in making logistics work to get to the dealership 90 miles away and he, without hesitation, volunteered and drove to my small town, picked me up and we did the deal. Paperwork and Forester were ready, no surprises, as I said, better than expected deal, really nice general manager also, Steve Palmisano. From time of picking me up, driving 90 miles each way mostly in Houston traffic and complete purchase including familiarization and financing, paper processing- a tad less than 4 hours to parked in my garage. As I said "exceptional".

    We just purchased our second Subaru from Johny Smith at West Houston Subaru (WHS). We purchased a 2014 Forester in November of 2013 and yesterday a 2015 Legacy. We returned to WHS because of the professional respect they show towards their customers. Very straight forward and detailed, no run around. When you put the solid, practical and very well priced vehicles that Subaru delivers with the straight forward, courteous service at WHS, you have a winner. I would recommend this dealer to anyone who is interested in purchasing an excellent vehicle.

    You won't find a better combination than that. It's a win-win situation for the car buyer. They offer automobiles of super quality, fuel efficiency, unsurpassed safety, and really fair and competitive prices for what you get. You owe it to yourself before you purchase that "other" car to at least pay them a visit and get the basic info.

    I have recently graduated and bought my first car at West Houston Subaru with Ryan. I saw the Subaru Outback online and came in to see the details and test drive the car. Ryan was very knowledgeable about the features of the car and its competitors. I was also indecisive about the color of the exterior and interior of the car, and he spent time showing me all of the different options. I had a great experience at WHS -- go and ask for Ryan!

    For me service is better measured when things go wrong, how does the company react. Buying a used car is always a challenge frought with stress. We chose a car from Subaru West Houston, the day after we got it we noted a concern, so we got hold of them. They bent over backwards and then some to ensure that we were happy with our purchase. Next time I have to buy a new or used car I'll be going back! We dealt with John L who was amazing, but all the staff helped us along our way.

    Hi i just bought a Legacy at west houston subaru,. My daughter and i met with Johny, Daniel who treated us with respect and professionalism. From the showing to the financing and pricing my experience was truly great. Walked out with the vehicle that same day, with a great car and they earned my respect. I can say highly recommended .

    This was the best experience ever. Jonathan answered all of my questions before I went out for a test drive and after. I purchased a pre-owned certified 2012 Impreza. I would buy from them again.

    I bought a Subaru Outback at West Houston Subaru. It is a small dealership but they got me exactly what I wanted. I totalled my corvette. I wanted something to stick to the ground. This one does in style with great pickup, great ground clearance, and much space. Very hellpful dealership that did not pressure me. Thank you! Sandy

    Test drove and ultimately purchased a 2015 Subaru Forester. Pleasant experience. Dealt with both Mike and John. We did not feel pressured but at any point of the experience. Both were very helpful and patient while we worked toward out decision.

    I just purchased my first Subaru - a 2015 Outback Ltd with all the fixings. After spending couple of months of test driving an Acura and practically confirming the car and the price (and after tiring negotiations with the sales consultants), I just swung by West Houston Subaru to just take a look at the Outback. A car that I kept bumping into everywhere online, while researching the Acura. That said, I am not sure if it was the test drive of the Outback or the sheer value difference between the Outback and Acura or if it was the non-sales person approach of Troy Lynn at West Houston Subaru that changed my mind. Looking back, I am very happy that I did stop by West Houston Subaru. Like I've mentioned in the title of this review, this car buying experience has set a new benchmark for me on what a car buying experience should be. Troy was asbsolutely fantastic - very responsive (reply to my mails immediately), gave me a price that did not leave much room for negotiations ( he offered me a price that was lower than what I was going to negotiate to) and most importantly, did not push me to add this that or the other. I kept expecting the "now lets talk about the..." topics that would add to the purchase cost, but there were none. All said, I am happy as I can be with the purchase and will strongly recommend West Houston Subaru based on my experience.

    I recently bought a Subaru Forester from West Houston Subaru. It was such a wonderful experience and everyone who worked there felt so genuine (which seems to be rare in the car selling world). Jaime and Robert were both a great help and by the end of my experience I had met just about everyone in the dealership. The staff were all so friendly and I never once felt that I was getting ripped off or "sold" anything I didn't want. I LOVE my Forester and cannot wait to take it up to school with me!!

    BUYERS BEWARE BUYERS BEWARE Yes this would be even more helpful if you all wouldn't try and screw everyone buying a car from you. You would be able to help more people and pets out! I tried to buy and they jacked price way up on me after putting deposit on car that is non-refundable and working with sales and management all day. Manager Gerald tells me you can't buy that for that price you have a new price. This place is a joke! I am a current owner of a Subaru and wanted to buy a 2015 Subaru but because of how this place operates and is shady I will not be able to.... I have screen shots and printed ads of car and pricing at 3 different websites and still doesn't matter. This is not the way you operate a car business nor treat your customer base. I am also a ISR (Internet Sales Representative) and we always give the lowest price possible; whether it is correct or a mistake. The customer is always right in this business but not at West Houston Subaru!

    As with any major purchase, always do your research, know what you want, where it's at and what you are willing to pay for it. If it isn't a good deal get up and walk away. I got a fair price for my trade , (2005 Impeza 2.5 Sport wagon) and a good price on my new Impreza Outback Sport. They leaned on me and I leaned back. Could I have saved a little more?,Probably, but as long as I didn't pay too much and they made enough to keep the lights on, it's all good! almost forgot: a full tank of gas, free donuts and coffee too! With the advent of the Internet and all the information available before you go, prepare yourself and stick with your plan. Subarus ROCK! Once you own one, you'll get it.

    First impressions were bad, was handed off to 4 different sales people when they had only one other customer. West Houston Subaru practices very deceptive pricing strategies. They continuously try to work you to going off of monthly price instead of car price. Expect to have them throw some massively overpriced number at you, then have you put all your energy into working them down to what the car should cost monthly AS MARKED. Watch out for the short overconfident guy in the corner office who drives the Jaguar. T hey threw $497 a month * 60 at me for a car which should of only been $370 a month. They also did the "Take the car home and come back tomorrow tactic" I kept hearing them "struggle" to get to $370 for 72 months. I denied and he got really nervous saying to just look at the paperwork. When the finance guy pulled everything up the number became magically $363 at 60 months... what the car should of been as per the financing calculators. The car was only 14k, 497/mo for 60 months is $29k after financing, unless they have 40% APR they were using deceptive selling practice. I would NOT recommend going there. The only reason I had to use them was that I wanted a car that no one else had (diesel Jetta TDI manual) If you must, at least make SURE they go off of car price and not try to force you into "per month cost".

    Had a great experience purchasing a new car from Edwin Gonzalez at West Houston Subaru. After lots of Internet research and e-mailing back and forth with multiple dealerships, Edwin was able to beat the best quote and have the car with the options I wanted delivered to the dealership quickly. E-mails were returned quickly, service at the dealership was good, and they gave me a good value for my trade in. By far the easiest experience I have had purchasing a car.

    We dealt with Mohamed, who is the used car sales manager. He dealt with us fairly, gave us a good price, and moved swiftly after we decided on a deal. Only complaint was that we waited >1 hour for the car to be cleaned after the paperwork was all complete. So frustrating.

    I chose West Houston Subaru based on reviews. We had good experience with Subaru up north, and knew how reliable they are. I drove in with a '96 Impreza looking for a late model Forester. There just aren't any low mileage, late model used Subaru's to be had around Houston. Bottom line, walked away with a new Impreza. Spent less than expected; less than Edmunds rec'd price. No surprises or unexpected costs. Salesman was Kyle T.
