  • I was quoted $433 for 150K service, price increased after service

    I received an email from Sterling McCall reminding me I was due for a 150K Mile Service. They offered two packages and I went for the 2nd package which included an Oil Change for $433. I received a call telling me my vehicle was ready hours later but nothing about the price increase. I should have been notified prior to serving or after service. I was told after I received an email which informed me that I could pay in advance. I was told of the price increase when I paid that the price online was incorrect. They gave me a $50 discount because of the online price quote but I still had to pay an extra $60. I need my car and been laid off of work for 18 months so living on a tight budget is tough and now this. I was shocked and had to hold it together. I will never return to Sterling McCall again. I have been a customer since 2014.

    Had appointment for oil change. Advisor was timely in getting my vehicle. Received text about service recommendations and shortly after my vehicle was ready, nice and clean. Great job and it took an hour as I had been told when I arrived. Always excellent at this service department!!

    I have used Sterling McCall Gmc for 12+ years. The last few years have reminded me of service departments of old. Coupons they email are always expired when I get my service done

    Engine light came on after saying there was an issue with the engine and transmission, they did an world class inspection and my light just came on a few minutes after leaving the dealership. Gave them the exact notification instar gave me.

  • Long wait for service

    This is the first time in 5 years I’m disappointed in the service. Yesterday, arriving at 8:00, I waited 9 hrs in the waiting room. I scheduled an oil change, but also needed service for the A/C. Not cooling. After an hour the customer service attendant approached with a list of items which needed attention. The A/C was on the list. Bad/damaged condenser. I approved the items I wanted repaired and customer service returned to the mechanic so he could execute the repairs. At about 1:00 I approached customer service to check status. I was told then that, “you know this is a 7 hr job”. Well no, I was not aware that this work was of such a long duration. At this point I was there for 5 hrs. I decided to wait it out. My decision. Finally at 5:00 I was informed the work completed. I believe my complaint here is that after I agreed to the condenser repair, I should have been told that this is an all day repair. Knowing this information I would have elected the option to be driven home.

    I called in a panic because my car wouldn't start and I needed to get to work. I called for service. The response and service were great. I got my car back the same day with a full explanation of what the problem was. The price was reasonable as well.

  • Time wasted

    I went in to get my car checked out for alignment and to see why it was jerking forward from idle. They quoted me for front motor mounts, but didn’t address the alignment issue and when I asked why, the sales rep said they could not check it. I decided to get the front motor mounts anyway to salvage what I could from this visit. I came back another day because they had to order the parts. When I dropped off the car for repairs and returned home, I was then told that the bushings didn’t come with the mounts and it would be several hundred dollars more for parts if I still wanted to have them put on. This was ridiculous - they should have checked for this BEFORE they quoted me the cost of repairs and ordered the parts. I canceled the job because I felt they didn’t research the parts properly and they were trying to charge me for their lack of effort. Apart from losing the money I paid for them to look at my car, I also wasted almost $60 in Lyft rides to and from the dealership because they no longer offer a shuttle service. To add insult to injury, the sales rep was borderline rude every time he communicated with me. I was made to feel I was interrupting his day, and that anything that went wrong was MY fault, not theirs. This was an overall terrible experience, and I do not plan on going back to this dealership.

  • Simple Fix

    I needed my center console repaired. It was easy to get an appointment and the service was done in a timely manner. The only issue I had, was that they sent me a whole other host of problems that my car had that needed “immediate attention”. I know nothing about cars and the services they were suggesting were very expensive. As a result, I took my car to a local mechanic who I trust to get a second opinion and he did not agree with their evaluation. It felt like I was being taken advantage of and for that reason I did not leave five stars.
