My sales guy James is awesome, thru the whole process he was very helpful and always with that nice attitude to help out. Victor Cruz the manager also… helped me a lot with questions over the car and we figured out a payment that could work for me. Both guys were just in top of the line. I am very glad I picked that place and grateful for the service they provided me. I highly recommend it!!!!Deal Went Great
by ericab1 on 10/10/2014I am glad God led me to this dealership. The sales representative Able made me knowledgeable about the history of KIA and their cars and Bonnie helped me to find the perfect car for me and seal the deal. I felt very overwhelmed about making… this purchase, but the Manager Victor Cruz went out of his way to ensure that I was comfortable in the decision I made in the end. Thank you Fredy for giving me a new start.Purchase a new car

Buyer Beware
by not2scale on 08/04/2010Review: Short and simple. Look at the car lot!! ....and unfortunatey I did buy. It was part of a great dealership that was bought by the present owner and turned into tote note dealership. We know this now. My wife and I had a deal from… another dealership in hand. We should have known better to stop in but it was closer to home. The salesman promised the same deal as we had shown him. That was until we got to finance. The slick finance tricked us into a 500.00 loss and unnecessary credit dings which we ended up on their costly KIA finance. I managed to acquire financing at a reasonable 4.5% with ease after the ordeal. After finding that I was charged 500.00 more, I returned ti the dealership and it was explained that that was still a good and the dealership lost money. As for the credit part, their answer was that I should have had my credit arranged before buying. To end this and I admit I was furious. I demanded to see the owner. The main point of the interview was about the warranty service. I first tried to explain my frustration about the credit dings and his answer was also that I should have had credit arranged. About losing 500.00 on the deal he said nothing said and when I told him about the reviews I found about Fredy KIA on the internet, he had from other customers, all he said was he was insulted and asked us to leave. I never got to the service issue and sent a complaint to KIA. This is a 2 part. please see service review.Buyer Beware
by not2scale on 08/04/2010Service is smiling and full of excuses on why it takes days for simple warranty work. Apparently, They do not network with other dealers. Warranty parts are ordered from KIA and that is why the extra days. BUT bring it in there for… something that will make the dealership money and it will be out in a jiffy. My last outcry is when I lost 3 days of work because of a bad battery under warranty. I am in sales and I travel to my accounts. I was told they are one of the largest parts dealers in the city and they sell to all of Houston and no dealership had a battery for my car. Frustrated at the end of the 3rd day, I called 3 dealerships. I was told by one of the dealership that all KIA dealers are able to look into the local networks to see available parts at any other dealership. All had a battery (over 20 batteries in all) that could have been picked up and used as warranty. It was just cheaper to have a warranty battery delivered from KIA and that cost me money and time. This was just the last of 4 instances with this dealership. In the 8 months of ownership, there has been around 6 to 7 unnecessary days this dealership has had this auto waiting for warranty parts. The last time I came in, I was given a dirty van to use because I raised such a stink. I did not use it because I would have to transfer all my files from car to car and it smells bad. To end this and I admit I was furious. I demanded to see the owner. I tried to explain my frustration about the warranty service as well as the excess credit dings and his answer was also that I should have had credit arranged. About losing 500.00 on the deal he said nothing said and when I told him about the reviews he had from other customers, all he said was he was insulted and asked us to leave. I never got to the service issue and sent a complaint to KIA.The Worst Service/Sales experience in my life
by davidst on 05/19/2010I bought a used 01 Ford Escort here in Nov 09 the car was bought as is but the salesman told me that he would "trust this car for his daughter" he has/had a little trouble with English. Anyway the motor went out 900 miles later so he… offered to put a good used motor in for $1300 telling me that he would "personally see to it that everything would be done right". I Got the car back 2 weeks later it ran but was leaking oil. I finally got him on the phone he never would call me back or return my call at anytime through any of this service, I would have to "catch" him. They kept another week I got it back, drove it home and the transmission was leaking where they broke the seal shoving the left side drive shaft back in, so bad I was afraid to drive it. Enough, I took it to a local mechanic and he replaced the entire shaft unit for $500 and showed me all the things they did like reusing the old gaskets with silicone and using silicone where there was no gaskets he also said the motor looked older than the car, the salesman never would or could give me any information on it's origin. Well the car still leaks oil and the radio had to be pulled and the fuse replaced where they worked on the heater control. Let me also mention it took 6 months to get my title/tags because they did not have the title from the person that traded the car.I had to get temporary tags twice when the first one ran out.Never again
by cjirons on 02/12/2009I will never take my Kia to Fredy Kia again! I had my oil changed there, brought the car home and went on vacation the next day. When my husband and I returned, there was a puddle of oil under my car. I have never had an oil leak, so my… husband called Fredy Kia and I took the car back to discover they hadn't tightened the plug. My husband and I had also told them about the problem we were having with the car jumping out of fourth gear. When my husband called to see what they had found out, they told him that they had gotten my car up to 6K RPM's and it wasn't jumping out of fourth gear at that rate of speed. My husband told them that there was no way I had ever driven my little four cyclinder car that fast and couldn't believe they had gotten the car up to 6K RPM's. My car still jumps out of fourth gear and I am only up to 2 1/2K RPM"s when it happens! I'm suprised they didn't blow my little car up! But to tell you the truth, I think they were lying out their you know what because there is no way my car will do 6K RPM's! Again, I will NEVER take my car back to Fredy Kia! I will [use another dealership].Internet Sales Manager and visit to dealership
by mpg3 on 07/03/2008On my quest for a high MPG, low cost vehicle, I researched Kia and made contact with a few dealerships. Out of the two, this one was more professional and seemed more accomodating over the phone, emails, etc. I had a good price quote from… the internet manager. I was interested in the Rio and wanted to test drive. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a salesman smelling very much like smoke. I went and looked at the cars on the lot. This lot is very dusty and had numerous potholes, cracks, etc., so wear boots and be careful where you step and drive, seriously. The salesman went inside and got the key for the vehicle we wanted to drive. There were a few that I was interested in, but due to sticker price, only one that I wanted to test drive. Once inside the vehicle, the smell of smoke was overwhelming as the A/C had not yet kicked in. We test drove and it felt way too small, to the point that it seemed like he was not actually in the back seat, but in the front. Upon returning to the dealership, I asked about the drive out price. I had a check in my purse that would have paid for it that day. He agreed to a price that my check could accomodate. Once inside the dealership, I utilized the bathroom. Upon returning to the desk area, I was ready with my check and the salesman indicated that he had given me the vehicle price, not the sales price. At that point, we left. Nice people working there, but I didn't appreciate the change in price and the car was not impressive enough to warrant the higher price, comparitively speaking. How are they even allowed to sell cars here??
by bjb_337 on 04/19/2014updated 06/12/2025Would rate 0 stars if I could. Came here as a last resort with my mom who had a rough past and needed some help rebuilding her credit. The facility was absolutely filthy, the staff were dressed as if they were at home on the couch, and… there was absolutely no professionalism. My mom ended up buying a used car here and utilizing the in-house financing program so it would rebuild her credit. The staff assured us both that they report to all credit agencies and that all information is kept secure. By the looks of the place, people, and atmosphere, I highly doubt that. Now almost a year later when my mom decides she is ready to trade the car in, we find out that the dealer never once reported any of the information to credit agencies. This has been by far the most unprofessional, unclean, and dishonest dealer I've dealt with. Never again.Buyer beware
by inciteful on 07/14/2012updated 06/12/2025I recently purchased a Kia Soul from Fredy Kia. After the farce of the internet price scam (which appears to be aimed at getting you to visit), I thought all would be well. Well.......... not so! The vehicle came with a paper dealers… license plate, which is par for the course. One week before the paper license plate expired, I called Fredy to let them know and ask about the real plate (and the second entry key). I was told that it always takes big dealerships a long time to get the plates through, because they sell so many! What nonsense - a bigger dealership means more staff to sort out these issues. Anyway, I asked for a new dealers paper license to be sent so that I would still be able to drive the car. It did not arrive. I called again and was promised that it would be fed-exed immediately. It did not arrive. The original plate had by now expired. I called again, to be given some excuse about a member of staff resigning. By now I was somewhat annoyed. I had a new car that I couldn't drive and I had been promised, twice, that a new plate would be provided. So on my next call I insisted that I talked to the sales manager - after 30 minutes of waiting on the line, and various transfers (hoping I would hang up), I got to speak to him and let him know my thoughts. Three days later the new paper license plate arrived. But now, four week later (and two months after buying the car) I am still waiting for the proper license plates and the second entry key. I just called - still waiting for them to call back! So, my advice - go elsewhere if you want good after-sales service. Fredy is happy to take your cash, but then you're on your own. PS - I didn't get a call back. I called again, to be told the real plate was still not available. Figures!very good service
by 08cbr600rr on 03/28/2014updated 06/12/2025Bought a "new to me" pre owned 2013 Explorer at Fredy Kia. I noticed the steering wheel was off center and thought it was something minor. I took it to a Ford dealer to have it checked and was told I had a bent inner and outer tie rod. I… called my sales person Tracy and the pre owned manager Steve who offered to pay for repairs at no cost to me. I dropped off my truck and the next day my service advisor Nicole called advising me that it wadn't only the tie rods but a bent strut also (which Ford missed). They ordered the strut as well and had the repairs done quick. I was also given a loaner car while my repairs were being done. This dealer went above and beyond especially on a used car. I highly recommend all from sales, finance and excellent customer service in the service department. Thank you Tracy, Steve and Nicole for a job well done.
