  • Army strong

From the minuted I met Mike G, he actually listened to what I needed and wanted (versus what he or a dealership would prefer me to buy/do). He answered every question I had, was very thorough in searching for the right car, never pushed me, kept in touch with me, and found the "needle in the haystack" vehicle I was after. I have never interacted with a salesman who listened - and heard - so clearly what I was saying and followed through on MY goals from start to finish. He has an exceptional knowledge of his cars and the dealership too. Mike's passion for doing a great job clearly comes through in the excellent sales experience he provides! I would highly recommend Mike to everyone and will certainly be back to work with him again

  • Straightforward

It was a pleasure working with Mike G on our purchase. He was extremely professional and straightforward which was in stark contrast to the experiences I had with other dealers.

  • Tweaked

    5 out of 5 starsby tweaked1 on 07/30/2014

Mike g was very responsive & patient during the buying process. He answered all of my questions & spent a lot of time making sure I had the information I needed. I felt very comfortable working with him & never felt pressured. He is easy to work with & is extremely friendly & knowledgable. There are a couple of small items on the car that need to be "tweaked" & Mike has been so great about making sure I'm happy.

  • Please dont go...

I called the dealership and spoke to Nicole thrice to confirm that the two cars (Camry 09(St #2348) & Camry 10 (St# 2363)) that they have advertised on their website are still available. By the time I got there I met Huberman Ulysse who only showed me one car - 2010 Camry. The other car he said was just got crashed by one of staff members and Nicole doesn't know anything cause she is new to the company. I asked him the price of the car and his said it's going for 19+ and I told him that online it says $14795. He acted really shocked and went to talk to his manager. He came out and said it's for $15795. To my surprise they went online and changed the price to $15795 and showed me the printout. He also said $15795 is the price you'll have to finance after putting 3k down. I told him that you website doesn't say anything about 3K finance. We checked the website together but then he refused to reduce the price to $14795. After that he kept convincing me to buy a new Camry for $21500. I was really disappointed with this service. Take my advice - do not to go to this dealer.
  • worst shopping experience in my life

1.3 out of 5 starsby dshadow on 01/09/2010

Very unpleasant and stressful experience shopping at this Toyota dealership. I came in prepared to negotiate the price and they twisted the facts, tried to upsale the car over its price, in the end when I was Ok with the price, upon the financing review and signing documents, they included optional fees and services that ended up costing me a lot of money and that I did not need. Finance guy Darren did everything he could to screw us over. I had to almost fight to get at least some of the unneeded services and fees out of the way. Services and fees they tried to applied to my purchase: 1. window etching, lost key replacement and tire replacement for 3 years $700 2. documentation fee $350 3. Bank acquisition fee $499 4. Dealer prep fee $700 5. Registration fee $399 I was only able to get some of the fees out of the way. Lesson learned: always research your dealer prior to going to the dealership and if you don't like anything - leave. There will be another day to come back and continue negotiation. If I had to do it over, I would definitely not buy from these guys.
  • Very rough dealership with poor follow up service.

1.8 out of 5 starsby scottandmaria on 12/22/2009

We had trouble with this dealership. They were very rough with my wife, heavy handed, trying to force her to buy things she didn't want, Not returning polite phone calls. Slipping in extra costs into the fine print, and making promises with no attempt to keep. This was true of the salesman, the closer, and the manager Vinny. I'm sorry to say that I throught they would follow up on things, but don't. Can't recommend this dealership. If you are a woman, don't go alone, because they will take you for a ride, and if you try to rectify things after, they won't answer your calls or make an effort to help you.
    • Well, After we wrote this review, and sent an email to Toyota, they got back to us promptly and resolved the lingering issue. In fairness, the management was polite, but just didn't act on our concerns. Finally, they acted, but needed some incentive. So, all's well that ends well.

  • I love my corolla !

5 out of 5 starsby mfbklyn on 09/29/2009

I want to thank Route 22 Toyota for all their help. I am a first time new car buyer and had been warned by everyone I spoke to to be on guard for all the tricks salesman pull on people especially first time women buyers. Well nothing could be further from the truth, I did some research on the internet and then went to the dealership where I meet Barry Rosner a salesman who was very helpful and took the time to go over the features and my options without rushing me and I felt no pressure to buy right there and then. I was sold on the corrolla as soon as we went for a road test and decided to purchase the car, at that point I was introduced to Barrys manager AND I THOUGHT HERE IT COMES ! but keith was very nice and wanted to make sure everything was explained to me and what we would be doing next to finalize the sale. Kieth brought me to an office and I met Chris who as it was explianed to me would be handling the paperwork with the bank and the plates . I did spend about 45 minutes in his office while he explained some warranties and alarms but aside from the time spent no high pressure pitch (i did buy a lojack system but passed on the warranty) after that Barry came in and brought meto my new car and went thru (for a second time!) how and where the various controls in the car worked including setting my radio stations! I am so happy with my new car and the people at rt 22 toyota made it happen .I would reccomend Route 22 toyota and Barry to anyone looking for a car !
  • Bait and Switch

    1 out of 5 starsby nukar811 on 09/10/2009

I got to them through the Costco Auto program and I was told I got a great deal, $250 below invoice price. Great. I confirmed the exact model and add-on options and price before I went there. So what happened after I arrived their showroom and met the sales person? I was told they don't have the exact car but they have the model with upgraded options. Fine, I can live with the upgraded options as long as they are useful. But immediately I found out, first, they want to charge an additional $349 documentation fee which was not told to me over the phone, second, with the exact model and add-on options, their "invoice price" is about $500 higher than other dealers including the quote from Costco Auto program web site which is provided by the "participating dealers". They tried very sincerely to explain to me that it was the true invoice price from the manufacturer because you see, they got some add-ons. When I showed them on the their computer the invoice price quoted from the Costco Auto program web site with the add-on options, the manager stared at the screen for a couple of minutes trying to find out something to be wrong but he couldn't. Finally, he seemed really irritated and told the sales person "we do not honor the Costco price" and left. Very rude. I called Costco Auto program asking what's going on with the "invoice price". The representative and manager explained to me that every dealer has its own invoice price because every dealer pays the manufacturer different advertisement fee, local fee, government mandatory fee, holdback fee, blah, blah. I thought the holdback is the cashback money the manufacturer pays the dealer, right? I didn't expect the auto market got super hot in this poor economy that dealers got so much money to save the auto industry and had to pay the manufacturers cashback in order to sell their cars. My fault. But I guess the CSR was citing her notes and did not know what she was talking about. I forgot to mention that the sales person played innocent and insisted that he never heard about scrap value and insisted there was no such thing of scrap value when I told him I have a clunker to trade in. When I showed them the CARS.gov web site, the manager got an attitude and told me he needed to check the engine of my clunker, test drive my clunker, "up hills" and "down hills", to check everything is fine before he can take my clunker. Are they trying to break the law? I finally bought the new car from another dealer, without the Costco Auto program, for about a thousand $ less than the great deal Route22 Toyota and Costco Auto program had offered to me(yes they switched the offer). I understand that the dealer needs to make money, and those people from the Costco Auto program needs to share the profit from the dealer to get their paychecks. They can sell cars for whatever price they want to either informed or uninformed customers. I have no problem with that. I just wish them be honest and upfront and not to waste my time and waste their own time, and not to cheat on people like they were idiots.

Called over the phone spoke with chris he said they have the car I want in the lot available to test drive. When I got there this sales guy luis was telling me chris is not here and he will help me. he told me they don't have the car in the lot and told me to buy another car. bait and switch tactics wasted my time and money going there. the [violative content deleted] named luis was a [violative content deleted]. kept telling me to leave a deposit and buy another car. gave us a bad attitude and bad customer service. don't ever buy here, but buy here if you want to deal with [violative content deleted]. take your business and money elsewhere.
  • Poor Sales Service

    1 out of 5 starsby bquick1 on 08/06/2009

After a visit on a busy Saturday in which I encountered a sales person that seemed very nice however, also seemed a bit 'out of it' and lacked overall knowledge I couldn't believe that my family and I had to wait 20 minutes for this. Overall I got a bad feeling about this place. I returned reluctantly when I saw what appeared to be a good deal. This good deal had seats with what appeared to be cigarette burn type holes. I'm not sure how it could be a certified pre-owned Toyota. Other Toyota dealers I've visited, I'm sure, would be embarrassed to have this vehicle on their lot. It was an awful visit. I was belittled by a Sales person and Sales manager. They never brought the keys over or offered to let me actually see inside the car and continued to work harder at proving me wrong as to my thoughts and what I had seen in the add than listen or try to help get me into a car. Finally they offered to try to work with me however would have to add cost for the certification on top of the price. At this point I was already thourougly frustrated since I had seen this clearly on the advertisement, "Price includes all costs to be paid by a consumer, except for licensing costs, registration fees, and taxes." And no other mention other than the title that included the phrase "Certified". And evidently it was but you had to pay extra on top of the price tag for it. I walked away for a 2nd time after interacting with 3 total sales person with no question in mind I was lucky NOT to have bought a car from this place.
  • These guys ought to be ashamed - but they're not

    1.5 out of 5 starsby in2explore on 06/21/2009

Don't believe anything these guys tell you. They told us that Toyota stopped making in-dash nav's in this year's camry hybrid. My wife even showed them the picture in the brochure with the in-dash nav- and they had the nerve insist that was for models not sold in the northeast! Lies!! Then they offered us last year's model at ($000's) more than we could get this year's car. Rt 22 toyota gives car dealers a bad name. Because of the games these guys play we picked up our Camry Hybrid [another dealership]. Sure it took us 2 hrs to get down there, but we wasted more time than that with these [violative content deleted]!
  • Bad.. Bad .. Bad

    1 out of 5 starsby newbuyer2403 on 03/16/2009

The overall env is totally unwelcome....ppl don't care for ur business.. even after taking appointment .. there is no one to talk to .. once someone comes up he seems uninterested .. and give ur outrageous price ...assuming that u r a fool .. once u get passed this phase the sale person will call his Manger .. who gives u a price quote somewhat better then sales person and when ur ready to buy at that price u will find many hidden and unjustified fees .. I had to walk out of the deal in final moment .. I understand the toyota are best selling car but if you cannot trust ur dealer ..how can u buy a car from them .. and expect their help in case something goes wrong

Went shopping on a Saturday for a 2009 Corolla LE after being in 2 other Toyota stores on Route 22. Was greeted by a salesperson named Milton who answered everything about the car we could ask and promptly showed us the vehicle we were looking for. He insisted on us taking a test drive even though we had driven one previously but really set us at ease during this whole process. The negotiation process was relatively quick and they didn't play any games like the other 2 stores did. Although they seemed to be very busy we were able to sign everything and be in our new car within about an hour and a half.
    • This review is WAY unlike all the other BAD reviews... and my own experience. These guys give car dealers a bad reputation. Because of the games these guys play we picked up our Camry Hybrid out of state- at fitzmall in MD and were so pleased.

  • Awful

    1.8 out of 5 starsby toyota444 on 08/21/2008

The salesperson I talked to lured me in with a false low price, then tacked on lots of fees which added up to more than $3500, including dealer add-ons I didn't want. Offered me a laughable price for my trade-in. Typical tactics, keeping you waiting while thinking up new numbers out of nowhere. I left without a new car, thankfully.
  • Very Dissappointed with the bait and switch

    2 out of 5 starsby tyler101 on 07/05/2008

7/5/2008 Went to purchase a scion TC in a certain color prior to going I called the dealership to verify the car was in stock. They confirmed it's sitting in the lot right now. I got there (3 hours after the phone call confirming its in the lot), and turns out the car was sold 2 days ago. Okay fine, I decide to switch color to one the dealership had in stock and here is where the game started. After they ran my credit check, they only used 2 of the bureau (Experian and Transunion) and conveniently stated that's the only two they use (the other one EQUIFAX they didn't use was the highest credit score confirmed by visiting a different dealership). Scion has a no-haggle policy the posted advertised price on the internet and in the dealership is what you pay....Not according to this Dealership. They started quoting far different rates for financing than whats posted on their website. When i finally gave in to an interest rate of 6.94 @ 60month, (they repeatedly showed me their finance book stating that's the only interest rate available and they can't charge different since its Scion) . I told them to run the numbers and tell me the out the door cost. They come back with an interest rate of 7.19 for 75 months, plus about 1200 in fee's not including taxes. I asked him what happened to the previous rate, Dealer pulls out a printed excel sheet telling me, a new rate was just posted...and that's the best they can give me. I ask him about the extras he added to vehicle without me asking like Vehicle Etching ($699), he rambled on, on how its important and there is no way he can take that out of the sale since its on the car. I ask him to give me more detail about the $1200 in fee's, he mentions that covers prep, title, documentation, and other misc. I then ask him about the $300 in documentation fee listed else where in the pricing...he gives another story on how the doc fee is different from the $1200. At this point I have had about enough and begin to walk away. By magic he drops the Vehicle etching ($699). He then tries to mention what a great deal I am getting. LOL. Bottom Line. Don't believe what B.S. these guys will try to feed you, they tell you anything to get you in the door, then try to scam you with the numbers. At this dealership was a lot of back and forth and a lot of ("Ohh I said that, what I meant was this") Above all else, be diligent in checking the numbers. They tried to entice me with $280 a month, with a very long payback time and extremely high interest rate. Not to mention the astronomical fee's that just appears out of thin air.
