One word - Horrible!!!
by dealhunt_101 on 08/06/2007They would go to any extend to fool you to get your business. I requested a quote, and then 4 different people called me from their dealerships with different quotes. One manager promised me a lower quote, and then when I called in next day… to confirm, they denied having promised it and said it was not possible. This happened about three times. Would never deal with them again.New Car Experience

I was not pressured into buying a car that I didn't want or upgrade to features I didn't need. The only bad thing about my experience was the waiting time.… After I chose the car and signed the contract, I waited about 2 and a half hours before I got called into the finance room. Other then that, I was pleased with Route 22 Toyota,unsatisfied
by bvalluri on 09/22/2012updated 06/04/2025i purchased a toyota camry 2009 2 months back. nothing wrong with the car. its a great car. but i felt i was cheated. when i went to look at the car the sales guy told me they had the remote keys for the car inside and he will give them if… i liked the car and bought it. i made a deal later and bought the car. the sales guy who helped me was not there on that day. some one else helped me out and when i made the deal. they just gave me a regular manual key. when i asked them they said the other sales guy has it somewhere and they will give it to me when he comes. i stop buy a couple of days later and then the guy says in the end that the old owner never gave them the keys and i had to get them installed myself. i talked to the person who made the deal and said i had to talk to the used car manager. and when i talked to him about that he said he is not sure and will call me back. he never did. i told him the website said it had the keys too. he said they dont do it. the info gets updated automatically. i only ended up leaving a couple of messages on his phone but he never returned the calls. if i had taken the car knowing about that then its fine, but they told me it had the keys and then they didnt have it. i will cost me another $600 - 900 to get it fixed. very dissappointed.We apologize for the bad experience at our dealership. I then searched and almost took all day at dealers to see my best option and no dealer out was able to help me like at toyota on route 22… hillside.That dealer whom helped me is Johnny C. I can not believe how well he does his job and he will now remain my representive. I recommended him already to many people whom i know will be buying a new car from there soon. Johnny c. you really did an amazing johnny helping me. I know i was very picky and not easy to get the car i wanted but you managed to do it and I am grateful and thankful.Great Experience!!!

I was pleasantly surprised
by eyemgruvin on 04/02/2011updated 06/04/2025I just purchased a 2011 Toyota Rav4. I had shopped at the lone Toyota dealer on Staten Island and we weren't even close on price. The dealership in Freehold contacted me from an internet lead and they too were too far apart on price. I… called Rt. 22 Toyota and spoke to Nicole. I told her what I wanted, what I had to trade and what I wanted to pay. She got back to me in 5 minutes and told me her sales manager said to come down and we would make a deal (I know, famous last words). Guess what? I actually did better than I expected because the vehicle in my color had more equipment than I was looking for but they wanted to make a deal and I got the vehicle for my price. All dealers nowadays add document fees and inflate motor vehicle fees and Rt. 22 was no exception. They did however negotiate down and made me happy. I'm a very leery and untrusting car buyer but I have to say I walked away happy and recommend them. I do however suggest that you read everything, don't hesitate to question something and say no when necessary. The key is to do it politely but stand your ground. He was not pushy even though it was President's Day and it was very busy. The negotiation process could not have… proceeded better. The finance officer, Alex found me a better financing deal than the one I came in pre-approved with. Before taking ownership of the car, another individual, Barry went over the warranty with me and expained all details as well as making sure I had the number for roadside assistance if I need arised. He answered a host of questions regarding service and warranty and could not have been more pleasant. The car was delivered to me nicely waxed and the salesman once again went over any questions about various controls on the car. One last thing, When searching various dealerships for stock and prices, the vehicles listed on-line for Route 22 Toyota, contained specific trim features of each car that was listed. This was very helpful and I found this not to be the case on most of the other Toyota dealership sites. Overall, a great experience and would I highly recommend this dealeship.Not an issue

See, I was driving a 2008 Saturn that I was very negative in equity (foolish move I made thinking it was reliable when it nearly tried to wreck me a few times). And my… girl had told me she had purchased a 2009 Prius. I came by to sign the paperwork, and the dealers asked if I wanted one. I had to think long and hard because the payments were more than I anticipated, but the service guys were good in handling my situation. So with their help, managed to drive off in a 2012 prius.
