Don't buy used car here.

by Yidoshi on 07/06/2018

I don't know other dealer but I would avoid Tustin Toyota buying a used car(certified or not) Long story short. What happened to me in the process of buying a toyota certified camry is: 1. The certified car has a burned on round mark as big as a pocket watch on the meter cover I didnt know about. I didn't see it or It wasn't there when I test drove or I took home a different car(they have similar cars side by side). It is very big and How it was missed was a myth. The so-called inspection list didn't mention it either. According to the certification, all interiors should be nice and clean and free of any smells. The dealers explanation was " you re buying a used car. What are you expecting? You drove it. It was your decision to buy. " 2. I wasn't present with carfax history until I called them the second day. By then it was too late. How stupid I was. I mistakenly took a similar car they listed on their website as the car they showed me. I got that cars history from CARFAX and thought that was it. So I didn't ask the sales person about it. Turns out the one I bought was a lease and had non service history. The dealer explanation was "We are not obliged to show you carfax unless you asked. Car history is irrelevant. You chose it. " what contradict their theory was they insisted me signing I received the carfax the second day. 3. What make it worse was the attitude I got from Tustin toyota dealer the second day. They are not even pretending. They told me it was not their responsibility to tell me "conditions" (mechanical aside ) unless I ask about it. It also not their responsibility to show me the CARFAX unless I ask about it. It is "you" who drove and chose to buy this car. ( yeah the manager told me that repeated). So it is all on the customers to "discover" during the 10 mins test drive. Well I am not very unlucky they were not "very" serious problems but all surprises took out all the excitement enjoying my new vehicle. My experience told me don't trust dealers to be your friend. Especially Tustin toyota. When you go look at the car, look throughly. You are on your own to discover all the problems. Write down the vin number or odometer number on the car you test drive Otherwise you wouldn't know if you get a different one. Don't presume they would give you everything even if it was on their advertisement. Like the one year maintenance on their ad. I almost didn't get it if I didn't go there the second day. (Well thank you for that , Tustin toyota. ) Personally I would choose a dealer allows free returns or exchanges to buy any used vehicles. At Tustin toyota you have to pay $250 for 48 hour cancellation policy and $500 restocking fee. Plus they couldn't care less once your walk out.

So hapy i picked Tustin Toyota

by Miller2198 on 11/17/2016

I purchased a 4 Runner and a Corolla from Tustin Toyota. Both purchases were beyond amazing. Everyone was so pleasant to work with and happy to answer all of my quesitons. Casey is the go to sales guy. Very knowledgable and went above and beyond to get me into my cars. Anthony in finance was great as well. Explained all my options and didn't pressure me into buying things i really didn't want. I've referred several friends already who are in the market for cars. Definitely worth checking out Tustin Toyota

Deceived

by ddl888 on 01/17/2016

I went to the dealer on 1/3/2016 to buy a 2015 Prius. This is the 4th car I got from this dealer from the same sales manager. They told me that my credit score is low but they can help me get the car with higher interest rate which is acceptable to me. Before I signed the paperwork, I kept asking them what the purchase price was. But they just talking about the monthly payment. Before I electronically signed the contract, per my request, the finance manager showed me the purchase price that is a little bit lower than the sticker price. He changed the number right before I provide all the signatures on the electronic pad. I got all the paperwork afterwards. I just left. It was late Sunday night and I didn't pick up the car until 1/9/2016. When I got home and review all the paper, I found out the purchase price is $800+ over the sticker price. The fair market price for a 2015 Prius is $1000 - $2000 below sticker. I asked the sales for an explanation when I picked up the car and he just ignore my question. I feel deceived by the sales/sales manager. I didn't check with other dealer before I made the purchase because I trusted this dealer. I learned my lesson. If you have a perfect credit score, it maybe ok to get a car from this dealer. otherwise try several dealers to get a fair deal. Don't be tricked because of your credit score.

Just wanted to finally thank, Daniel Simon, over at Tustin Toyota for being a Great Sales Person and making my first New car buying experience a very very pleasant and enjoyable one. I was just coming in with my Partner to just look and test drive the Corolla. Needless to say with Daniel's ease and no pressure approach, easy on the eyes as well, :) and full knowledge of the cars. I went ahead and took a huge leap and purchased my Corolla. If you are in need of a new car and a Great sales person and just a Great Person in general. Daniel Simon is who you need to go too. Daniel, Thank You again. Sincerely a Very Happy New Toyota Corolla Owner. Anthony Martinez

Great Experience on a Prius ii Lease

by mike1point3 on 07/28/2015

Very pleased to write that I enjoyed my experience at Tustin Toyota - I can also recommend working with Kara Vaporean. From the first phone call to visiting the dealer and looking at a couple cars to signing the paperwork and taking delivery, Kara was helpful and answered all questions. If she didn't know the answer, she found it quickly. Most importantly, she listened carefully to my needs and how I would be using the Prius and tailored the details of the deal to meet those needs. Everything went smoothly with my Price Promise certificate as well; they were knowledgeable about the program and had the two cars of interest pulled up when I arrived for our scheduled appointment.

Excellent buying experience at Tusin Toyota.

by Mihir_S on 06/22/2015

Kara Vaporean at Tustin Toyota - Internet Sales Department well deserves a 5 STAR rating. I was in the market for a 2015 Sienna and i reached out to them to get their pricing. After a couple days of exchanging emails we were able to reach an agreement over the pricing of the car and she sent me the proposal with a thorough pricing breakdown, After that she confirmed everything over the phone with me. Kara was very professional all along and answered my questions promptly. The dealership was 50 miles away from me but based on the interaction i felt it was worth the drive. I got there at the dealership on a Sunday morning and Kara was already there at the office and had the car outside in a secure area for me to look at and asked me if she could answer any questions along with taking a test drive. At the dealership, i wanted to check other Sienna's, one with the brand of tires i preferred. She took the extra time checking all the other similar models to see if they had what i wanted, We found one and we took it for a test drive, everything went as planned and we started the paperwork back at Kara's office. it was quick and easy. Tustin Toyota has a Subway at the dealership, My son with us was hungry and Kara promptly offered us to get some Subway Lunch coupons, Very good customer service in my opinion. During the Lunch Break, Kara got everything setup with the finance manager and the rest of the paperwork with the finance manager Anthony was a breeze as well, No extra pressure to buy anything and he took the time to explain everything and all the questions i had. Again top notch experience during the financing process. By the time i was done with finance manager, Kara had the car ready, detailed and with a full tank of gas. She went over everything with us about the car and promptly had everything we needed to get the car and drive off. Car buying is stressful but Kara at Tustin Toyota made the process simple for us, and the best part was, once the sale price was negotiated there were no surprises anywhere in the rest of the buying process and everything went as planned. I would strongly recommend Tustin Toyota if you are in the market for a new Toyota Vehicle.

Very Upset

by kristi16 on 03/05/2015

My husband and I walked into this dealership bc it was several miles away but a good size. They did not have what we were looking for but offered to trade to another dealership for what we wanted. I love the product but their salesmanship and ethics are completely lacking. The salesman negotiated with us and the managers to a price we agreed upon. Then in the finance office questions came up and we were given the run around and avoided. Contracts were signed ripped up and rewritten. After 8 hours we drove off in our new vehicle only to have even more questions and shocks when the final contract was closely read over. Contacting the dealership, I was told to come back in that we would leave happy. Upon arriving, we were offered a different truck, offered parts switched that could void our warranty, and offered spray protection that had been previously promised but told it would not be warrantied. We told the manager that we did not find any of these offers acceptable and only wanted what was previously promised us or we would complain to Toyota USA. He told us that they could do what they want and screw Toyota. We asked if we could just have the car back that we sold and they could take to new car. He told us that it had already been sold or he would do that for us. Needless to say, we DID NOT leave happy. Then two months later, I received a $234 toll road bill for the car I sold to that dealership and signed over papers. Calling about this, I was told that my car I sold them had NOT been sold at that time. It was sold 2 months later and now I was getting their toll bills for paperwork the dealership had not filed correctly. I am continuing to fight this dealership for their unethical sales tactics and shoddy service. i would not recommend this dealership to anyone and advise all who I know to steer clear and my family is a 4 generation Toyota buyer family. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General, the DMV and the BBB.

Fastest & Best experience ever

by ocdriver3 on 09/09/2013

Just bought a new car from Tustin Toyota and it was the fastest and best experience ever. I dealt with Lamont D., the internet sales manager, and it was beyond seamless and easy. They had the best deal, the experience was extremely comfortable, speedy, and, dare I say it, fun. I've bought 15 cars over the years, and this was the best experience ever. The facilities are also state of the art, cavernous, and very nice. Many dealerships don't have sufficient parking for customers, Tustin Toyota has plenty. Parts department is wonderful too, but we've not used the service department yet

Great Experience with Internet Sales Department

by zap13 on 05/26/2013

I had a great experience purchasing a new car from Tustin Toyota. The first price they provided in response to my internet inquiry was well below all of the other initial dealers quotes I received and very attractive (quite a bit below invoice.) They were responsive in answering all of my questions via email to confirm they had exactly what I wanted and to confirm the price they quoted was the true price I would pay. When I got to the dealership they had the car washed and ready to go for an inspection and test drive. From there it was a few minutes in the salesman's office filling out paperwork. Then a brief wait to go to financing. When we got in with the finance manager, all of the numbers were exactly as we had agreed to and I expected. No surprises or junk fees thrown in. He did (as I expected) try to sell us the extended warranty, but it wasn't too hard of a sell and only added a few minutes to our time at the dealership. From there it was a brief orientation with the car by the salesman and linking our phones to the stereo and we were on our way. From arrival to departure was about 90 minutes. It was as good as any car buying experience I've ever had. The salesman we worked with was Herman S. He was great to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend working him.

Disapointed

by kirk312 on 05/12/2013

I negotiated a deal online and the transaction was very typical. When I got there from Temecula they at first tried to up the price from what I was told but in the end kept their word...great, Then while we were signing papers they washed the vehicle and sometime while they were doing this they scratched the drivers side door. I showed up 1 hour before they opened and looked at this vehicle closely and it had zero damage. We called and tried to get them to do something about it and almost a month later they have not replied to us. This vehicle is a credit builder for me after losing my home, but in 1 year when I am ready to buy a newer truck I will look elsewhere because integrity means something and this dealer is lacking in that category. I would have given them 5 stars had they simply returned our call.

EASY and PAINLESS shopping thru Internet Fleet Manager: Martin Miller

by Greenmay12 on 01/22/2013

I shopped around for a 2013 Toyota Limited Highlander using the internet. I gathered quotes, took the lowest one from Frontier Toyota. I forwarded their quote to Martin M. and he beat it by $100. Other dealerships kept calling throughout the day. I knew I had a good deal when they told me that the quote doesn't make sense, it's too good to be true. But Martin M. was straightforward, he provided me a quote with a VIN. Even their sister store at Glendale could not believe what a good deal I got; they asked me for the VIN to make sure that the car is real, asked who I'm dealing with. Other dealerships told me that I should put a $1000 deposit down to lock the deal, that I should pick up 2 cars at that price. And when I went there, Martin just rang me up, and the total was exactly what he quoted me to the dollar. The only pain was the Finance Manager. He went from nice to very intense banging on his keyboard trying to sell us extended warranty. At the end, he was nice again because we bought extended warranty $1576 for 6 years/125,000 miles. Anyways, Martin M.: not much for chit chat but also no BS. Go to him, easy peasy. His lack of words will be music to your ears after so many others talk your ears off. I will 100% recommend Martin M. to my family and friends.

Easy Dealings

by CiscoCee on 12/17/2012

I had a deal in principle with the large Toyota dealer I have bought 2 cars from and felt like it was only got a fair deal. I sent a quote request though Edmunds to 5 dealers and Tustin was the first to respond. I dealt with Martin M. over email all day Saturday. He was very up front about everything, answered my questions, sent me all of the vehicle info I requested (and did so in a very prompt manner), and gave me the best deal amongst all 6 dealers (5 + original) from the very start. I emailed him Sunday morning and told him I would be in before noon, and if the deal he quoted me was the deal when I walked in, all we had to do was print and sign the papers. I was a little skeptical because there are not so good reviews on Tustin Toyota online and the deal was far and beyond better than any of the other dealers offered. However, the deal was so enticing that it was worth the drive to Tustin. When I arrived, Martin immediately greeted me, pulled the car up, and reassured me that if my credit score was indeed above 720, the deal was good to go. We filled out the initial paper work, my score came back just short of 800 (damn!), and within 10 minutes, the deal was done! The financing rep, Richard R., was also very nice and up front about everything. Ruby, the internet sales manager, who approved the whole deal, also stopped to chat with me and congratulated me on the great deal I got. I was in-n-out with a brand new Sienna SE for the wife in less than 90-minutes. Everything discussed via email was followed through with at the dealer, no hassles. The price I paid for a Sienna SE with an upgrade package beat the offers I got on an LE from most other dealers, by a lot! Very pleasant experience, very satisfied with my purchase, and highly recommend Martin M. and Tustin Toyota. They earned my business away from the large Toyota dealer in LA.

Typical Bait and Switch - Beware

by henryash on 03/14/2012

If you are on Edmunds.com you already are smart consumer. You know exactly what vehicle you want , you know what is the MSRP, you know what is the invoice price and what is the True Market Value you should expect to get from the dealer. You will also generate inquiries to at least 5 to 6 dealers and you will then compare their prices , possibly , compile the quotes in a spreadsheet and do a financial analysis , since you , my friend are a smart consumer. Now, does the dealership does not get that? I did exactly what I just described and got the quotes back from all the dealers. Martin M. from Tustin Toyota emails me with a price and says, I will match any other price. So I go to the dealership on Friday and test drive the car. When I get home, I look at my spreadsheet and email him my best price which is from a dealer in LA. Since I live in Orange County, I wanted to give him business. He says, yup will better the price. I am in touch with him all through weekend trying to schedule a time. Finally, I make time on Monday and call him, hey are you there I am coming to pick up the vehicle . He says , yup come on down…….. Reach the dealership and he introduces me to his manager. A fine lady called Mindy. Very nice and polite. She takes us to a table and politely says, “Well the car you saw is already sold “. We were dumbfounded. Then why did you call us . She then gives us options of other colors …… Red, White and Blue. Hey I am as American as I can be but sorry I was looking for grey. So off she goes looking for the grey car while Mr. M. decides to attend other clients as we are no longer important. So there we are sitting in the dealership and being treated exactly , we would have , had we walked in to talked to a sales man. So I quickly call the LA dealership and they still had the car. I said I will call you back in few…. Mindy comes back with a higher option. This one has premium audio. I said fine tell me the price. Meanwhile M. come back and Mindy is gone. So m. gives me a price which is now 1500 higher than what I had before. It was still a good price . Near invoice price so I said sure I will take it. M. goes in to talk to his manager and comes back. He says well we cannot sell it to you. I said why ? He said my boss does not want to sell at this price . I said “Really ? you are one to give us the price , and you are saying no ? “ and lo behold, the salesman comes out. He starts getting rude and becomes another commission agent immediately. He says “ Well I am just a sales guy and I can sell you the car for 500 below MSRP. That’s what my boss wants “. So now he is trying to jack up the price since he thought I wanted the car badly. So I said “ If you did not have the car I test drove , why did you call me and he says “ I didn’t call you . You walked in “ . Okay so this is how it is going . SO I just walk out…….. Folks, beware of this tactic. Make sure you ask them if they have the car and ask for VIN number before you even go to this dealership. I did get the other dealer honor her price, although she told me prices are going up . This was most unethical dealing from Tustin Toyota.

Mediocre salesman

by mediator123 on 03/05/2010

First off, I have a background in sales, Marketing and training. I am an avid car buyer and always know what my next purchase will be. I went in to Tustin Toyota because of the convenience and thier inventory. I have worked in the automotive industry and know what types of bad habits most sales people have. Don't get me wrong, I know many good and honest automotive salespeople but most will do what they have to, to make money. Anyways, I drive straight up to the customer parking (facing the service AND sales department. I am dressed well for work and look around at the less congested part of the parking lot. I walk to the SUV's and pick up trucks looking for about 10 minutes. I look at every person that walks by the lot (most likely service techs) and no assistance was offered. I made attempts to open the doors on some vehicles hoping to get a glance at the interior of some of these cars. Like most people, I don't like being hassled by eager sales people but when I want to look at a vehicle, I expect some assistance. After, I walk over to the busier side of the dealership and start looking at the sedans and used vehicles. I finally see someone walk behind me after 20 minutes of looking at cars. He waited for me to turn around and then asked if I were there for service. I told him that I was interested in looking at some vehicles but explained that I wasn't buying today. His demeanor changed and he never once introduced himself or asked for my name. The salepserson then asked me what I did for a living and suggested I go with a lease instead of a purchase. I explained to him why I prefer to purchase rather than lease. He was very persistant on selling me a lease. He did not ask me what I was looking for or what my needs and wants were. After 5 minutes of chatting, he asked me for my business. His exact words were, "If I get you a lease today, would you take delivery of a car today?" What?!? He didn't know anything about me; my financial state, credit score, what I wanted or anything important. I was surprised that he had the nerve to ask me for my business without working for it or earning my trust. I'm not buying a cake here. I told him "NO" and asked for his card. He then told me that he was new and that he didn't have a card. He asked me to wait while he went inside to grab a blank card and write his name on it. So, he comes out 10 minutes later with a large cup of coffee in his hand and gives me his card. I was pretty annoyed that he took his time to get himself a cup of coffee with no sense of urgency to get back to me. I wasn't offered a test drive, presentation, and no fact finding questions were asked of me. He had no cards with him and lacked professionalism. Wow. Most Toyota dealerships I've been to were accomodating and at least had business cards handy. I was thinking about walking out when he went to fetch a card but I wanted to see if he'd come back. Tustin Toyota has a good inventory, fair prices but I had a less than acceptable experience with the "new" sales guy. I have empathy for people in sales but this sales person does not deserve my business. You would think that Toyota would be more outgoing for thier customers considering it's situation and try to redeem themselves. I have faith in the Toyota brand but thier dealers must also enforce that faith in thier customers. The saleperson presented no value to me and Tustin Toyota.
