Don't buy used car here.
Written by Yidoshi on 07/06/2018

I don't know other dealer but I would avoid Tustin Toyota buying a used car(certified or not) Long story short. What happened to me in the process of buying a toyota certified camry is: 1. The certified car has a burned on round mark as big as a pocket watch on the meter cover I didnt know about. I didn't see it or It wasn't there when I test drove or I took home a different car(they have similar cars side by side). It is very big and How it was missed was a myth. The so-called inspection list didn't mention it either. According to the certification, all interiors should be nice and clean and free of any smells. The dealers explanation was " you re buying a used car. What are you expecting? You drove it. It was your decision to buy. " 2. I wasn't present with carfax history until I called them the second day. By then it was too late. How stupid I was. I mistakenly took a similar car they listed on their website as the car they showed me. I got that cars history from CARFAX and thought that was it. So I didn't ask the sales person about it. Turns out the one I bought was a lease and had non service history. The dealer explanation was "We are not obliged to show you carfax unless you asked. Car history is irrelevant. You chose it. " what contradict their theory was they insisted me signing I received the carfax the second day. 3. What make it worse was the attitude I got from Tustin toyota dealer the second day. They are not even pretending. They told me it was not their responsibility to tell me "conditions" (mechanical aside ) unless I ask about it. It also not their responsibility to show me the CARFAX unless I ask about it. It is "you" who drove and chose to buy this car. ( yeah the manager told me that repeated). So it is all on the customers to "discover" during the 10 mins test drive. Well I am not very unlucky they were not "very" serious problems but all surprises took out all the excitement enjoying my new vehicle. My experience told me don't trust dealers to be your friend. Especially Tustin toyota. When you go look at the car, look throughly. You are on your own to discover all the problems. Write down the vin number or odometer number on the car you test drive Otherwise you wouldn't know if you get a different one. Don't presume they would give you everything even if it was on their advertisement. Like the one year maintenance on their ad. I almost didn't get it if I didn't go there the second day. (Well thank you for that , Tustin toyota. ) Personally I would choose a dealer allows free returns or exchanges to buy any used vehicles. At Tustin toyota you have to pay $250 for 48 hour cancellation policy and $500 restocking fee. Plus they couldn't care less once your walk out.
