I recently visited Camelback Toyota to get my first new car. I was a bit nervous and unsure about what to look for, ask, or how to negotiate the price. But Brent was an absolute lifesaver! He made me feel at ease and wasn’t at all pushy. He… explained things clearly and pragmatically, and he even went the extra mile to show me the specials and give me honest reviews of the cars he and his family had driven. I’m so glad I went to Camelback Toyota, and I highly recommend Brent to anyone looking to buy a car. He really helped me make a great decision and get a fantastic deal.

by DeeDee30 on 03/14/2018My experience with buying a new vehicle has been very positive. Any time I had a question, I can get an answer pretty quickly which is very helpful. I was welcomed and the sales people were good at what they do - sell. We looked at several… options and test drived new/used vehicles -- we were not rushed. The sales people took the time to hear what we were interested in and pointed out several options that matched what we were looking for. Having said that; I would recommend Camelback Toyota to anyone!Extremely Satisfied with Wade and Raheem

by Sholina_Family on 02/21/2018We owned a Scion TC and since 2012 (moved into that area), we have been having it serviced by Camelback Toyota. The main reason we still go there, we love our service adviser Jose Tijerinno. He has always been upfront and honest. He always… tells us what we need done and what we can skip. He is amazing to work with. Regardless of, if we just having are having an oil change or the mounts replaced, we have never had a problem. Everything has always been done correctly and have never had to bring it back to have it fixed. Even when we stop by just to have the tire pressure checked the guys in the back always take care of us with no complaint and are always happy and cordial. Kudos to Jose and the amazing people who repair our vehicle. We appreciate all the work you have done for us over the years. We look forward to the work you will provide on our new vehicles we just purchased a couple weeks ago. Thank you for everything you have done for us.Not genuine Toyota parts
by ToyotaFan on 01/23/2017I was shocked to find this Toyota dealer does not install genuine Toyota parts and also uses third-party vendors (AZ Sun Tops in my case) to perform work. Buyer beware- when the parts, which are not covered by Toyota fail the dealership… does not warranty or perform the repair. You are then left dealing with the third-party vendor yourself. Kim McKay was confrontational, bullying and very unethical when I asked to have my issue addressed and Ross Ehler will not accept my calls. I have to have my credit card company refund the purchase and I was advised by Toyota corporate, who alleges they have many complaints about Camelback Toyota, to have the repair performed by Right ToyotaBREACH OF FAITH
by cromagnon on 06/22/2015I negotiated a price and purchased a Toyota 4-door pickup over the telephone from the stock at Camelback Toyota, authorized an earnest-money deposit on a credit card, and mailed a check. In three days, before I could travel to the… dealership to pick up the vehicle, the salesman telephoned and informed me that he had sold my pickup to another buyer. He offered me another unit, not similarly equipped, for a much higher price.Worst Experieince Ever Do NOT Do Business Here
by jlmcca15 on 06/03/2015I was in the market for a new Highlander after driving one for 11.5 yrs and making the mistake of trading up to an Acura MDX. Decided that I wanted to go back to the Highlander. The first sales person I worked with, starting a couple of… months ago was very pleasant and not pushy. When I decided that I was going to go thru with the purchase and after research and visiting/test driving Highlanders at pretty much every other dealer ship in the valley I call the sales person and told him I was ready to buy and that I had deals in hand and in writing for the Highlander along with trade in value of my Acura. I gave him specifics (trim line, color combo etc.) of what I wanted. His first response was that color combo is not available here and there is none in the region that will be available for the next few months. He proceeded to say he had some on the way none of which matched my specs. I told him that I had offers from two other dealers in the Valley that had the color combo that I wanted, so next email was ok I found one for you being built and delivered mid to late June, which I was fine with. Now he tells me that since he has to have the inventory redirected that I needed to come in and get the deal hammered out for the trade, new purchase price etc. and put a hold deposit down. Ok Im fine with that so far and have done my research on the trade in value of my Acura and the price of the new Highlander. So I make an appt for a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm, to finalize everything. So far so good that all changed as soon as I walked in to the dealership, first off I was a little early, no problem I told the millions of sales people that I was fine waiting as I liked the guy I was working with and knew the situation. So of course they take me to a table in the showroom and sit me down. No less than 5 minutes later some other loser sales person comes up and says the guy Im supposed to talk to is busy and he will help us. WHAT A JOKE, this guy had no clue what had transpired, and he was unhelpful as all get out. He finally found the vehicle I was looking for, gave me the spec sheet with a price about $4000 higher than the other two dealers I had written quotes from. He then back tracked on the price when I pointed that out. The next thing was him screwing me on the trade in of the Acura. He got the keys went and looked at it, then of course proceeded to NOT have a clue what model it was or what the additions were on it. He did get the info on how much I owed on it though. Next step was him saying, ok if this is the vehicle you want lets get a deposit on it WHAT??????? Where is the actual price/trade in etc. in writing? His response was well the trade in value will change by the time the vehicle is delivered in 3 weeks??????Really????? So I tried to get a firmer quote on the trade in value, and his response was and I kid you not well we will give you more than you owe on it seriously, I hope so I bought the damn thing used 6 mos. ago, got a good deal on it, plus the majority of the depreciation was already taken off AND put $15,000 down on it. So you are going to base your trade in value on that? What a bunch of BS. He finally gave me a figure for the trade in value and I laughed at him and told him their dealership was at least $10,000 off from the other 2 that I have been dealing with. Needless to say I walked out of the dealership and will never make the mistake of trying to do business there again. I might add that Im a single woman and have bought my share of vehicles over the years, but never had I had such horrible experience. This was by far the biggest rip off dealership I have dealt with.Terrible Plus Bait & Switch
by MikeK47 on 12/17/2014We are extremely disappointed and angry almost customers. After several e-mails with a salesman, we arrived for our 2:00PM appointment expecting to drive away in our new Toyota. After greeting us, the next thing from the salesman was… is you trade-in here and I can have someone look at it. Yet I clearly stated in my e-mail that we were not going to talk about our trade-in until the final number for the new Prius was agreed to. I then asked if the car was here to look at. No Alex replied. It is at another DEALER and we wont get it until we agree to the sale. I did not realize that satellite lot mentioned in his original email (we have that vehicle...) was the term for another dealer. Okay, taking that in stride, we were directed to a cubicle and Alex went away. Presumably to get his manager. While waiting we realized that we were not going to get the car we wanted today and we were leery of a pending bait and switch. After 10 minutes of waiting and no one returning or even checking on us, we stood and looked around and slowly walked to the door. Still nobody came after us or seemed concerned. I dont know if this is normal for your dealership but we will never be back!Disappointing
by 2unhappycust2 on 11/28/2014unhappyphxcust 10/19/2014 Reason For Visit Sales (New) "Overall Disappointment" Kim McKay was defensive. John O'malley was very unhelpful. and Ross Ehler had not interest in helping with the issue at hand with the contract. July 9,… 2014 at 5:00pm my meeting with John O'malley and his attorney. The one thing I will always remember about this dealership is when John O'malley asked me what I wanted. I told him that I wanted out of the deal because of the issues with the contract not being done correctly, the email sent to my personal email by Chris Mill thanking me for the awesome survey. even though I had never surveyed the dealership. My original copy of the Mechanical Protection Plan had my signature and date but after meeting with Ross Ehler, he gave me copies of the MPP documents and other documents that I had signed that they had on file. Their copy of the MPP had boxes checked that were not on my original. John O'malley and his attorney Davis Bauman present, asked again what I wanted I told them I never want to come back to this dealership. John O'malley said I don't want you to come as my customer and his attorney said there is other dealerships out there. And all the above occurred on July 9, 2014 and lasted less that 25 minutes My recommendation to any consumer is to steer far away from this dealership. About two days ago I was at the mall and a female driving a black Jeep Cherokee asked me, Did you write that on your windows. I said yes. She voluntarily told me that this dealership had done her wrong 20 years ago. She said she would never go back to Camelback Toyota or buy a toyota product ever again. This weekend I went to my home town and I met my sisters friend. She asked me who owns that red Scion with the writing on the windows. I said me, why? She says I love it. She continues to explain that her dad bought a 4Runner from them. She said I not sure what happened but he took the 4Runner back to the dealership and gave them back the keys and title to the 4Runner. She explained that it was not a good experience and that she and her family would not recommend this dealership to other people in town. On 103014 we were at the theater on central and McDowell we got there at 7pm and after the show was over we went to our car seen that someone had put what we thought was an advertisement on the windshield. The following day I just happened to look at it and the note read as follows: Toyota ***** come to Midway Chevrolet on 23rd add Bell we will get you hooked up. Toss the piece of **** and on front of this paper is Midway Chevy contact information and phone numbers. I take it he seen what I had posted on my back window of my scion about my experience with camelback toyota.Horrible Experience
by aznchanter on 10/16/2009I would like to describe to you the worse car buying experience I have ever had. On sunday, 10/11/2009, I called Camelback Toyota's Fleet Sales Department and spoke to Dennis, a Fleet Sales Manager. I described to Dennis the Model of… vehicle I was searching for and he informed me that there were two vehicles on the lot that matched my description. After neogotiating price I told Dennis that I would be at the dealership within 3 hours; since I was coming from Tucson, AZ and the dealership is in Phoenix, AZ, which is nearly 120 miles. (I didn't go to a tucson dealership since they were all closed on Sunday and I was only in Tucson for the day to co-sign a car with my sister.) After I arrived at the dealership I was greeted by another Fleet manager named, Mohammed. Mohammed said he was going to help me since Dennis was busy helping another customer on the phone. When I was taken out to the lot, Mohammed takes me to the a group of Toyota Sienna's (This was the type of car I was in search for), but none were a match to the vehicle that I negotiated over the phone. Even though I wasn't shown the vehicle I intended to see, Mohammed was very persistent at having me test drive one of the cars that was shown to me. I informed Mohammed that there would be no point of test driving a different vehicle than the one I negotiated. After stating that I wasn't interested in another vehicle, Mohammed leaves for a moment and comes back informing me that the car actually sold the day before and the reason for the misinformation was due to a delay in the inventory system. I was shocked and surprised that this sort of thing could happen. But the worse part of this ordeal was when my brother, whom was with me at the time stated one comment indicating his disgruntleness, Mohammed then has the nerve to stop the conversion, say that he wasnt paid enough to deal with this type of situtation and then proceeded to walk away. Along with my family, I was extremely upset at this point. We wasted 5 hours of our lives, driving back and forth to get tricked and dupped. The excuse proved by Mohammed doesnt even sound valid. If the reason was true, wouldn't it be known by all the sales people, in which a sales person would then go check the lot if a deal was being made. In fact, It seems that lying is common trait within all the sales people at Camelback Toyota since after Mohammed left another Fleet Manager named Robert came out and attempted to do Damage control by lying as well. Robert attempted to tweak his words to make it seem that Dennis and Mohammed did not lie by saying that even though the car was sold the day before they can find the car somewhere. Dennis lied by saying the car was there to just bring us to the dealership. What a bunch of [violative content deleted]. Now what kind of dealership does that? We drove 120 miles because we thought we had a deal with a reputable company but was sadly mistaken to find that this was a bait and switch ploy. And on top of that the dealership gets the nerve to get mad at us for being mad at this situation? Like I said, I was only in tucson for one day, I actually live in southern california going to Tucson with the sole intention to make this deal and this happens. This was a total waste of time and money. Be rested assured that I will make it my best effort to get the word out that this dealership is a sham(I will blog, leave comments on review sites and any other outlet that i can find) and also be assured that atleast no one I know personally will ever go to Camelback Toyota.Lease Purchase
by morrows on 12/10/2008This dealership was horrible!!! There customer service was beyond bad. They did not know what to do with the lease that I was turning in. They were unsure about how to finance it. I had to point out certain terms, then they had to clerify… them. Somehow I was correct. All I did was listen to what they had said earlier. They finally (after 6 hours) sent us on our way. Then I got a call two days later telling us about an "issue" that's all the message said. When we got there, ( I called to tell them we were coming) they were confused about what to do. I was taking my old vehicle home anyway and somehow they misplaced it. After close to an hour they finally found it. Once we didnt want the new loan that was $80 more a month. They continued to argue with us and treat us like crap. They wanted my family to get in a car and drive to another location with them... WITHOUT CAR SEATS. Theses people have no idea what they are doing.Surprised by my good experience
by nssummer on 07/24/2008I was leary of going to Camelback after reading the earlier reviews here on Edmunds but I was looking for a Camry Hybrid and at this time there are just not many around. Having visited Right Toyota near my home and being pressured to buy… a Prius (that was in stock) rather than wait for the Camry, I started calling looking for what I wanted. I spoke to Donna (in the fleet dept - there are 2 Donna's there) she said they had 1 on the lot that was available due to a canceled deal. She told me what equipment it had and that the price would be MSRP. The only other dealers that had Camry Hybrids were charging a premium so she had my attention. Then I read Edmunds reviews and was concerned. I went to the dealership and found the car as described. She never tried to raise the price and after pulling my credit, agreed to match the financing rate I had been quoted by a credit union. In finance I found the same "no games" approach. The deal was written as agreed, I don't think I was in finance for more than 30 minutes and I was on my way. I don't know if my experience was different because I went through their "Internet Fleet Dept", if they have made significant changes or if I just go lucky finding an honest person but I certainly have no complaints.the worst.
by mraymo on 02/04/2008I totaled my car and was in a bind to get a new one quick. my first mistake was going to Camelback Toyota. They made my situation even worse. Their sales people were dishonest about the car i was interested in. Extremely high pressure,… rude, dishonest, all together the worst experience I have ever had involving a car. If you want hard facts about the car you are interested in, do not go to Camelback, you will regret it. I dealt mostly with the "manager" which is obviously where the rest of the salesmen get their shoddy selling tactics. They were not interested in me as a customer but only in the money i had in my bank and they made this very clear.
