I recently visited Camelback Toyota to get my first new car. I was a bit nervous and unsure about what to look for, ask, or how to negotiate the price. But Brent was an absolute lifesaver! He made me feel at ease and wasn’t at all pushy. He… explained things clearly and pragmatically, and he even went the extra mile to show me the specials and give me honest reviews of the cars he and his family had driven. I’m so glad I went to Camelback Toyota, and I highly recommend Brent to anyone looking to buy a car. He really helped me make a great decision and get a fantastic deal.

Avoid at all costs

Borderline illegal sales and financing tactics. I can't believe places like this… are still in business. I ended up leasing from them but now greatly regret it. They added on options and charges I never approved and it took multiple visits to get them to fix it. At first they claimed to refund the money but just raised the interest rate (without telling me) so I ended up paying nearly the same amount. I finally got the charges removed and the interest rate fixed, but only after getting the run around and being persistent. I still wonder what other hidden charges they used to rip me off. Terrible, terrible experience. If you don't believe me do a web search on Camelback Toyota to find numerous complaints and horror stories. I wish I had done that before giving them my business. There are many Toyota dealers in Phoenix, do not give Camelback Toyota the chance to rip you off too.Sales staff not responsive to customer's needs, not up-front about problems
by livetvguy on 12/19/2007I went to Camelback Toyota looking for a RAV4 or similar vehicle. The salesman asked what I was looking for and I told him, emphasizing that reliability and fuel economy were important. Being out of RAV4s in my price range, he steered me… toward a Jeep Liberty, completely ignoring the fact that it is problem prone and horrible on gas. On and on we went to very unsuitable vehicles. Thank God I had researched many of them before hand. Finally, days later, they got a RAV4 and called me. I test drove it, asked for a Carfax and got a similar report from dealer.com showing a clean history. It looked incomplete to me so I insisted on a real Carfax and that revealed an accident in this car's history. The asking price was well over blue book (even without any bad history) and I gave a lower offer based on the accident history and a more rational consideration of the value of the vehicle. Yep, now it's manager time. The manager easily lopped of 1/3 of the difference in our prices but thereafter became somewhat hostile, showing me what he claimed to have paid for the car on trade-in and the service done to it. I also know the approximate trade-in value for this particular car and he either lied about the figure or paid WAY too much for it. Needless to say, it's about that time that I just walked out.Sale Refusal
by gws on 07/20/2007After initially committing in writing to price and agreeing to sell me a 2007 Avalon for export to Canada, Camelback reneged under pressure from Toyota and refused to honour their earlier undertaking. Upon checking with other local dealers,… I found that Toyota had forced general adherence to their prohibition of sale for export. Toyota headquarters denied several times having such a prohibition but, eventually, I received telephone confirmation from the president's office that the restriction does exist. My contact there checked wit 'legal' and reported that the subject policy was an 'internal document' and not available outside the corporation.Fantastic Dealership!

On my quest for the perfect car at a great price I was guided to Camelback Toyota as a preferred dealer by the USAA Car Buying Service. I have never had a better experience at a dealership before.… Once I arrived to the dealership I handed my price certificate from USAA to Mr. Richie D then was introduced to Mr. Sam H for the test drive which was very relaxing not pressuring in any way. As soon as I decided I wanted to purchase the car Mr. Richie Davidson made sure the price certificate was honored no questions asked. During my inspection of the vehicle I did notice that the serpentine belt was worn and requested that it be replaced. Again, without hesitation, Mr. Sam H and Mr. Richie D honored my request. Due to my particular situation I was unable to take the vehicle with me the day of purchase requesting, yet again, if they would hold on to it until I returned the following weekend. They agreed without hesitation and without charge plus they filled the gas tank and gave the car a wash. Fantastic! Oh, one last thing, great big THANKS to Mr. Richie D for the concerned call to make sure everything was alright when I was late to arrive! I have never dealt with a dealership like this one and I will refer you to everyone I meet looking for a car or even if they are not looking. You guys are truly ONE OF A KIND! We were already approved for a loan, w/high interest of course but hey we had money to spend and we wanted a car they… had. Many dealerships have turned me & Larry away, until this sunny Sunday. We test drove the Nissan X-terra and loved it. Told Brian what we had & the financing and he said here's what I can do. He put me into a newer car with lower miles and I was very happy but Larry was not. Larry did not like the Toyota Rav4. So as Faye finished up with the other customers she came over & introduced herself then she began the paperwork for my car. Still Larry sat there unhappy because he wanted the X-terra. We came in a Saturn car that was paid for and so I walked over to Faye and told her, here is the deal... We came here for that Nissan X-terra, what kind of deal will you make us if we trade our car in if you sale us both cars? Guess what their eyes lit up and they gave us a sweet deal on our car and now we have 2 new to us cars in our driveway... Camelback Toyota is the place to go and Faye is totally amazing is easy to work with.. All of their staff is friendly and no one is pushy and they made the process as smooth as ever. All the dealerships I have ever been to have made things hell and here at Camelback was smooth...Excellent Experience

It was and he gave me the internet price before I even got there. Also found a coupon for $250 dollars off the sales price,… got there and drove the car and two others before deciding on the Prius. I got nearly $2000 dollars off of the list price and was very happy with the salesman and the dealer. Would absolutely go back there to buy another carDo Not Patronize this Dealership
by mousy327 on 02/21/2014updated 06/11/2025DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS DEALERSHP!!! They will rip you off! 3 days ago I purchased a new RAV 4 from this dealership. They are NOT customer focused and NOT willing to bring any level of Customer service after the sale. In my case, the trade… value that they gave to me was extremely low and when I questioned it, they told me "Don't worry, we will pay it off". What they actually did was add the dfference to my loan and never shared that information with me. They told me they ASSUMED that I would know that they were doing that. I had not purchased a vehicle with a trade in many years so their assumption that I would just know was unfounded. When I called the dealership to try to resolve the issues, no one returned my call, I had to send a FAX to John M to get someone to call me back. During the sales process everyone was nice and friendly but when I needed assistance days after the sale, they did nothing but offer me $250. The General Manager's assistant Kim McCabe and the Assistant Sales Manager Ross (don't know his last name) finally called me 3 days later and were not able to resolve the issue. I WILL NOT RETURN TO CAMELBACK TOYOTA AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IN THE FUTURE.Fantastic Dealership!

Of course, do your homework first, but that said, he is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We went to other dealerships and salespeople were just making things up… about vehicle features, pricing, etc. What was most impressive about Miles is that even though we purchased the vehicle and probably would not be back any time soon to buy another, he still followed-up with us. Then, a month later, we urgently needed a copy of some paperwork while we were out of town. Even though the finance department was closed on a Saturday morning, he personally got the paperwork scanned and faxed to us immediately. That is amazing service. (Plus he has a great name for a car salesperson.) Thank you Miles!Excellent Service

We already left a different dealership because we could not come to an agreement. Told this dealership the amount that we could not agree to from the other… dealership. They came back with an amount thousands higher than the other dealership! We were dealing with the exact same features and the same exact car. They said the other dealership cannot sell it for that price because they all buy them for the same price. We went back to the other dealership and they gave us the car for 1,000 less than the original price we walked away from. Needless to say, We bought the car, are extremely happy with our deal and will not hesitate to buy from the other dealership from now on!Very pleasant experience

This was my first new car purchase and I was treated like a VIP. Jake was the salesman that I delt with and I can not say enough… about his honesty and kindness.Craig is the best!

There was no pressure in buying something that I really didn't want to buy. When I… arrive he had everything ready to go and had what I wanted to look at available, this made the whole experience that much better. He really knows his stuff as far as cars go and every question that I presented he had no fear of answering! I would totally come back and buy another car from Craig. I have already recommended him to my friends and told the about the great customer service to expect. I can't wait to come back and buy another car! Craig is a total asset to Camelback Toyota and the Toyota family!
