  • Internet Sales..a Lot to be Desired!

2 out of 5 starsby tularockstar on 10/16/2014

There is definitely a major difference dealing with the front floor sales team and the internet sales team. My wife and I were looking for a brand new Tacoma and dealt with the internet team. Needless to say we had a very poor experience. The sales people were like zombies with no care about customer service. One salesman only talked to me and ignored my wife completely! She was steamed! We ended up going to Earnhardt Toyota and the experience was night a day! We struck and a deal and took delivery of a new Tacoma the next day. The customer service and price were second to none!

  • Excellent experience

I had the pleasure of working with Ian, April & Brian in the internet dept This was my 2nd Toyota purchase but first Rav4. They found the color & options that I was interested in making the entire process easy. They were fair on my trade & the price.

  • Great Customer Service

Went in with no expectations of buying car. Met Brian in the Internet Department and he asked questions and listen to what I said to help me find the perfect car for me. Was very patient and answered every question I had about my options. Best experience I have had buying a car.

  • Absolutely the best!

I had two experiences with local dealers trying to buy a 2011 Camry Hybrid. After getting frustrated with Earnhardt Superstition Springs, I went to Bigh Two in Chandler. The sales agent I met during a previous visit on an early Sunday morning was there the evening I went to Big Two. I have been buying new vehicles nearly every two years for 30+ years, and have had up to four new cars at any one time. I have also leased company vehicles. I say this only to convince the reader that I have met and dealt with a significant number of sales agents. In general I rate the normal car buying experience as irritating at best. Having said that, I want to take my hat off to Rick Bombara and Big Two Toyota because my experience at purchasing an new Camry Hybrid was the nicest transaction ever. Rick is considerate, helpful, friendly, and genuinely concerned for the customers buying experience. He is an incredible gentleman and I have to say, that anyone that wants to buy a Toyota in the greater Phoenix area should visit Big Two and specifically ask for Rick!

  • Transaction was too good to be true!

First of all, I hate buying a new car... the stress involved just sucks. This was the first time that I've purchased a vehicle (I've bought 3 in the past) where there was no stress involved what-so-ever. I was initially just going to Big Two Toyota to test drive a Toyota Yaris Hatchback (as I was planning on doing the actual purchase at Power Tempe). But then I came to find out that Big Two honored the Costco Program, which influenced me to make my purchase with Big Two, and I couldn't be happier. They gave me a smoking deal (matching the Costco deal that I was going to get from Power Tempe) $100 above invoice. I did the Cash for Clunkers program, and initially they only gave me $50 dollars for scrap value of my clunker. Three weeks later they mailed me a check for $259 additional because my old vehicle scraped higher than they expected!!! Now that's honesty. I would definitely recommend this dealership to friends/family, and I was somewhat surprised by some of the bad reviews, as my experience was smooth and all the people I had encounters with were very friendly. Also, they have a tree house that entertained my kids for the few hours we were there.

  • Honest & No Games! Great Service!

I had a great experience with Big Two Toyota in Chandler (June 2009). I had contacted a few dealerships via their internet/fleet department. There were a few who gave me prices, but seemed a little pushy about coming in. I had explained that I would be talking to and visiting only one dealership. Marshall, at Big Two, not only said he was "honest" and there would be "no games"... he delivered. He told me exactly what I was getting into before I went there, had the paperwork prepared when I got there, had the new car ready for me when I got there and gave me the deal I was quoted (actually it was even a little better!). I have had 3 previous new car buying experiences and this was by far the best. I got an awesome deal and was treated really great. Their facility was also really impressive - play areas for different ages of children, lounge areas, café, etc. At Big Two, I dealt with only Marshall and Wendy there and they were both really courteous and provided wonderful service. I would not only return to Big Two for future car purchases, but I would highly recommend them!
  • The sales person (Jim) is not nice at all

    1 out of 5 starsby wang1234 on 12/14/2008

I went to Big 2 today and meet one sale guy. His name is Jim. I worked with him almost two hours. Finally he gave me one price and didn't let me to discuss the price with him. It's surprise he is a salesman. He doesn't know how to handle negotiate business at all. It is not surprise to me Big 2 still has tons of 2008 car there waiting for sell. Anyway, I will visit different dealer next weekend.
  • MY VERY UNFAVOURABLE BUYING EXPERIENCE AT BIG TWO TOYOTA OF CHANDLER.

SATURDAY 5/10/08. With a 2007 Prius to trade in for a 2008, I finally settled for an $18.5K trade-in figure with the sales manager, suggesting that I needed to remove my Sirius equipment and return on Monday to clinch the deal. However, the dealer offered to remove the system free of charge (let's not let this one get away) and have the items ready for me to collect on the Tuesday. Fortunately I removed the receiver and base before leaving, for I learned on the Wednesday that they had removed and discarded the kit "in error", but agreed to order a new kit and install it free of charge. By then I was well into a dispute with them over my trade-in figure, having stupidly signed all the paperwork without checking all the figures and finding the next day I had been short changed about $1400. It appears the sales manager had written a trade-in figure of $17.2K, a figure unknown to me. At first I took this to be an error, but after several unreturned voicemails and visits to the dealer, I met with the sales manager on 10/15 and he denied our verbal agreement. Management weren't interested as I had signed the contract. Toyota Corp. wouldn't do anything because Big Two are a franchise. The sales person who I awarded 5 out of 5 in an immediate survey, later confirmed on my enquiry, that the trade-in agreement was indeed $18.5K and to date (6/5), that hasn't been refuted. On 5/29 after many unpleasant exchanges, I faxed a letter to Big Two complaining of the trade-in fiddle and the whereabouts of my Sirius system. The next morning at 9am they call, and Lo and Behold "Mr. Godfrey, the parts have just come in", and now 3 weeks later, they've finally done the job. Having cheated me out of about $1400, admittedly allowed by my own negligent naivety, they then offered to buy the car back (having already sold my trade-in, at what price I wonder?). I gave it some thought and realized if I did, I would have no car, even to return the 18miles from the dealership, I would lose about $2.5K in tax allowance buying a new car elsewhere, then to top it all, the sale manager would do more of his devious, creative trade-in dealing and ensure that I departed a total loser, whilst they had achieved a "double dip". What was it the dealership manager said in a letter? His assistant manager "will typically go to great lengths to ensure our guests are satisfied". I should point out that they sold me the car at invoice price, so maybe this was their way of overcoming that "loss". Will I shop there again? Not on your nelly!!
    • You are complaining about a trade in value when you bought a car in high demand for invoice. Boy I guess no matter what some people can never be satisfied.

      by slvrnblc on 12/06/2010

    • Mr. Brett Henkel, General Sales Manager, has met with Mr. Godfrey twice and reviewed all the paperwork with him. Mr. Bob Garvey, Asst. General Manager, has also met with Mr. Godfrey and again reviewed paperwork with Mr. Godfrey. There are 4 separate documents that Mr. Godfrey reviewed and signed stating the trade in value of his vehicle. The figures are in black and white and can not be mistaken. Mr. Godfrey just wants more after the sales transaction was completed. In an effort to satisfy and reason with Mr. Godfrey, Mr. Garvey offered to repurchase the vehicle and refund the difference in any monies owed him. In doing so and trying to be as fair as possible, Big Two even agreed to absorb the tax, DOC fees and license plate fees that were part of the sales transaction to make him whole. Mr. Godfrey refused this offer. Why one might ask? Big Two Toyota is the only dealer in the area selling a Hybrid Prius for MSRP. Since this vehicle is in extreme high demand due to fuel prices, other dealers are charging a premium of many thousands of dollars over MSRP pricing. We have always had the policy of not charging more than MSRP for a vehicle regardless of demand in the market place. Mr. Godfrey knew he got the best deal in town on his new Prius at Big Two and could not come close to duplication the transaction at any other dealer. Mr. Godfrey is in real estate and fully reads, reviews and understands contracts. He is not a novice to this type of transaction. Mr. Godfrey accused Big Two of changing the figures; however, all of the figures match on all of the documents. In addition to this information, we have also asked the sales consultant and sales manager involved in the sales transaction to provide written statements regarding the value of Mr. Godfrey's trade. There statements support the written documents that are part of this sales transaction. Mr. Godfrey simply does not want to believe the written documents that he agreed to and signed. These documents were completed and reviewed by the sales staff at the time of negotiations and then again by the finance staff during finance contracting. The documents were subsequently reviewed with Mr. Godfrey on numerous occasions by numerous individuals of Big Two management that were not involved in the transaction, but simply interrupting the information in the transaction documents. We understand there are always two sides to a story and we appreciate the opportunity to explain on beh

  • *****GREAT EXPERIENCE AT BIG TWO TOYOTA*****

    5 out of 5 starsby robv1414 on 03/22/2008

In March of 08, I decided it was time to trade in my 97 Toyota Tacoma for a new Tacoma. I started out doing all my research on Edmunds.com. I wanted to be totally prepaired when I visited several local Phoenix Toyota dealerships. My first few experiences were not very good. Most of the car salesman I encountered were working as if they were mindless and heartless robots with no emotion. IE: Power Toyota in Tempe. So after being frustrated with not finding a good deal on a new 08 Tacoma and not getting a fair offer for my trade in. I seriously considered giving up. It was then I decided to try one more place. I went to Big Two Toyota in Chandler. From the very first minute I arrived on the lot I was treated like a person and not just a customer. My salesman was named Derek Rice. He was a very outgoing and friendly. And was very concerned about what I was looking for and did not try to steer me to what he wanted. Overall it was a great experience from top to bottom. The entire sales team did all the right things to make purchasing my Tacoma a really easy and calming experience. I got a GREAT deal on my 08 Tacoma. I got it $500 under invoice and a more than fair deal on my trade in. The dealership wants to sell vehicles. And not try to squezze every single penny they can from their customers. I highly recommmend if your looking for a Toyota or Scion. Go here first. Don't waste your time at other places.

I'm not sure what happened...but I walked out of this dealership with a Prius under a lease, and when all was said in done, lost about $10,000 on the transaction. they explain this as "you paid a lot in sales taxes" and when I went back to talk to them about it, they said "well, there's nothing we can do". Got it. I will never purchase/lease from them again.

First off just like everyone else just wanted to test drive that day because I was not ready to buy. So a hour later they are trying to push the paperwork on me without telling me what my interest would be when I asked for it they told me that interest is no big deal just pay early and I would not have to worry about it Ya right. Also they wanted to charge me for a 199.99 tint job, which I did not ask for but they said I had no choice when I told them I will walk out they stop arguing with me which I cant believe they were doing. At this time I was so upset I wanted to walk out which I should have done next were the payments way to high I said I could not afford it but yet they still pushed so finally still upset and frustrated we came to an agreement. At 130 they pulled the new scion Tc to the back to clean it up. I empted my old car and sat inside waiting an hour to sign the finance and warranty paperwork. Once I finally saw the finance guy my monthly payments went up even more even though I told the sales guys I could not pay more then what we agreed on which made me upset. I waited another 3 hours for my new car it took forever 7:00. They had to order my extra parts I purchased. I received a call four days later that the parts were in and I could drop the car off. I asked my boss if I could drop the car off which he said was fine. When I showed up they said all the parts are in but one I said fine keep the car give me a loaner which they did not have they told me to come back the next day and the part should be in. So once again asked the boss he said I could go again for the second time. When I got there they tried to make me pay for the loaner which after I argued they agreed not to charge. I told them to take there time because I am going on vacation and wont be back for a week and add the parts right because I do not want to come back again. The next day they call me and say the car is almost done which I thought was to quick since there were 12 parts to put on the car so I called the sales guy and asked if he could check on it for me when he called me back he said that there was a lot to do still and wont be done until tomorrow which was funny because the service guy called me right as I hung up the phone and said it would be done in a hour. Hour later I pick up the car. I took it home and left for my vacation a week later I look the car over again and saw that a big part was missing the front strut bar. You would have thought that they would have called and told me but thank god I know my cars because they would have ripped me off and kept the part. So I call no one can help me because everyone involved has the day off and once again waiting. Sum everything up Very unprofessional, only help at their convenience they ruined the whole buying a new car experience. I am so unhappy and feel like I was taking advantage of. If your buying a scion it the same price every where try another dealership first before you go here I would not even give a star

One of the worst dealerships I have gone to. I feel sorry for the sales people. Upper management lie, take too much of your time and don't deliver what they promise. They were quoting me above retail for the same cars, that I could get elsewhere. They wanted to sell a 2010 Seq. for above price of a 2011. If it can happen to 1 person it can happen again. I had an awesome experience at Camelback Toyota, Bob-fleet.

If I could give BIG TWO a review I would give them a negative 5 stars. Last week my husband and I went searching for a 3rd row vehicle for our growing family. We shopped around and decided on a Honda Pilot 2010 on BIG TWO'S lot. Once we sat down to discuss the price of the car the first "LIE" was the price. It had been raised from $20,099 to $21,099...I pointed it out and they said it was a mistake...then once we negotiated to trade in our car to put towards it the price the price did not go down it went back up according to all of their "fees". Then denied us, said that we needed either a co-signer or $5,000 down. We walked away, then found a co-signer the next day went back, they treated us grand and happy for us that it was working out. In Finance there were printed mistakes on the contract which they shredded and re-printed but stated that they would send them to the co-signer and then would have us sign. Had us sign a document stating that it was to ensure that if anything went wrong with the car we could bring it back...(when in reality the fine print stated that if the financing did not go through they could seize the car) We did not find any of this out until 4 days later when they called and said we had to return the car because no bank would Finance us (they made us believe that when we drove of the lot in our family car we would be financed with a monthly rate we negotiated and paid $350 out of pocket to get...that we were in the clear). Not only did they crush our hopes, they have humiliated us in front of our family and children, whom all have fallen in love with the car. Ron should have known better than to SCAM us into YO-YO Financing! Please do not go to this dealership, you could be next.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to trade in my lease and purchase a new car from Big Two. I have had a bad experice with many Toyota dealerships and many good one as I have only driven Toyotas in the last 14 years. This was by far the easiest and faster experience I have ever had. Jay and April were AMAZING and made this process a pleasant one for me. Finance was smooth too! I can't say enough! Thank you Big Two!

Mixed experience. Had a nice test drive, salesman was friendly and helpful... and then the bait and switch. They did not have the car in inventory and said that they would find it. They had us fill out paperwork and then had us sign an "estimate". Well, reading the fine print, that estimate was the lock in price. It was MSRP, and nobody pays MSRP. They said it was not negotiable, so I walked. 2h down the drain. If you can't trust someone, you won't do business with them.

We had a great experience at this dealership. They lived up to their word and delivered the vehicle at the price stated. Had a delay in the financing dept due to another customer's needs, finance turned around and increased our extended warranty. Due to their integrity we purchased a 2nd new car. This says it all.

I recently purchased a 2013 Toyota Tacoma QUAD Cab, 4x4, Long Bed from Big 2 Toyota. This truck replaced my 2006 Tacoma after hitting an Elk. I had also purchased my 2006 Tacoma from Big 2 and wanted to give them first shot at the new truck since the first purchased had gone so smoothly. The one thing I hate about buying a new vehicle is the haggling over price. The sales staff at Big 2 had the exact truck I was looking for and made me a very fair offer. They were attentive to what I wanted/needed and did not try to strong arm me on price, extras, or additional coverage. They were pleasent and professional. If you want a enjoyable and honest car buying experience, I highly recommend Big 2 Toyota in Chandler, AZ.

Went to Big 2 Toyota on June 13 to see if we can get a car for my niece and her family who just arrived from the Philippines on work relocation. Since they don’t have any credit history yet, they are willing to put up to 50% downpayment. I was taken to Brian M’s office (the Finance Director). When we entered his office, he was on his cell phone texting. Mr M didn’t even shake my hand or at least acknowledge my presence. He just talked to the salesperson (while still texting on his cell phone) and said, “There’s nothing we can do for them. They can pay cash or get a co-signer”. Totally uncalled for! Very rude and unprofessional. We left his office and he was still texting! We went to San Tan Hyundai and was able to secure a pre-owned car with a 50% downpayment. I would not recommend Big 2 Toyota to family and friends. That experience was probably the worst I’ve even been treated. I feel humiliated and unappreciated! Stay away from this place if you don’t have perfect credit or at least don’t talk to Brian M …he will treat you like you are a waste of his time!

The "sales manager" wrote up a quote for me and just conveniently forgot to add the sales tax on my leased vehicle. When I got to financing, the truth was revealed. They would not honor their quote, but I went right up to Camelback Toyota and they honored the quote and sold me a Camry Hybrid that night.

Big 2 Toyota is one of the worst auto dealers in Arizona. If you want a new car, save yourself time and money by going to Power Toyota in Tempe. A year ago my boyfriend and I bought a brand new four runner from Big 2. They seemed nice when we were there but our payments were outrageous. A year later we decided we needed to trade our vehicle in because the payments were so high. We went to Power and they asked for our contract. We gave them all our paperwork Big 2 had given us and came to find out they never gave us a copy of the contract. They also told us our payments were so high because almost $8,000 of stuff was added on to our contract that we didn't need. They even added a life insurance policy for over 3,000...guess what...I was 21 at that time and my bf was 24. We had no idea that we had agreed to all that stuff and felt so stupid that we let them take advantage of us. Power Toyota pulled some major strings to help us because we had so much negative equity. Now, Big 2 owes us a lot of money in cancellation refunds and when I called to find out the status of our refund they said they'd call me back and never did. I even left a voicemail for the finance director, Brian, and never heard from him. My boyfriend went through the same thing. Today, after pulling some strings we finally got them to call us back and we find out they lost our paperwork. Horrible business full of deceitful, uncaring, unprofessional people. Toyota is a wonderful company and Big 2 completely hurts their image. Once I get my refund I will never do business with them again and tell all my friends and family to avoid them and go to Power where they are not looked at as a number but as a person.
