  • Bad business

    Shabby and deceptive sales practices in final contract. Never asked if extra products were wanted, just included in final price. Rushed through electronic signature process on Mac without accurate explanation of what was included. Admin fee and “protective” products added approximately $2500 to price.

    Charif and his team at AutoNation did a great job in assisting me with buying my daughter her first car. They're sometimes challenges when buying an older used car, however Charif and AutoNation treated us as if it was a brand new luxury vehicle and gave us excellent service and the communication was great. They stayed on top of the process from start to finish and even introduced me to many of the managers to ensure it was a great experience for my daughter. Thank you Charif and AutoNation.

    Honest, no nonsense purchase. Sales Person was extremely knowledgeable and at no time tried the high pressure tactics you experience at most car dealers. The GM was an honest straight shooter who saw to it that I could literally close this deal in about 30 minutes. The finance folks were extremely efficient and organized.

    Saturday last minute service request. My service manager was Aaron, he had me in and out in under two hours. I was able to wait in the service area, use WiFi and get some work done while the car was serviced. Excellent communication from Aaron kept me informed of status at all times. Great experience!

  • Frustrated and disappointed

    Frustrated and disappointed. Bought a used car and test drove it. There’s little vibration and addressed it. Bought the car and left it for 4 days so the chief mechanic can inspect it. Got a call from my salesman and told me that no more vibration and no more cricket sound on the front passenger side. Took the car home gave then the benefit of the doubt and came back after two days coz the vibration still there. The salesman lied to me thinking maybe I’m stupid and don’t know anything about cars. So I came back and the chief mechanic came out and yelling at the sales manager about looking at my car again. So I took the car home and emailed the general manager. I came back and told them it was the motor mount so they took the car from me and brought it inside the service area and after maybe 10 minutes the manager came to me and told me that they check the car and nothing wrong with it. They didn’t know that I already have the car check by my personal mechanic and it was the motor mount and it’s only a $600 dollar fix. I still took the car home and have it fixed and now it’s working properly no more vibration. The one I really hate is when they lie to your face thinking that your dumb. Pls avoid this dealership. You cannot trust the sales person up to the general manager.

    Overall, I'd give the dealership an average rating. The car salesman was very helpful, knowledgeable and in no way contributed to the experience, but I was rather disappointed with the experience. We were at the dealership for almost 7 hours on Saturday (only 2 of 5 finance workers showed up). Their system proceeded to crash at the end of the evening and we had to come back the following day to finish paperwork. There didn't seem to be much cause for concern regarding time spent. In the 3 hour wait to see a finance person we were never once approached to apologize for the wait by management - it was only our salesman who kept checking and apologizing.

  • Transmission Issue Resolved with help from AutoNation Honda Dulles!

    My 2018 Honda Pilot Elite (9-speed automatic) with just 90k miles (and 5 years) threw 3 error codes and went into limp mode without warning (no indications of any issues). I brought the vehicle to AutoNation Honda Dulles and the techs indicated it was time to "replace" the the transmission since they are not authorized by Honda to actually "service" it. The vehicle was no longer under warranty and I had my Pilot serviced exclusively at Honda dealerships since new (completing all recommended services), and there was never an indication this was going to happen. I had 4 options: 1) Pay ~$10k for a new tranny; 2) Pay ~$7k for a remanufactured tranny; 3) trade it; or 4) bring it to a transmission specialist like AAMCO for further assessment. Fortunately, Mike H (my Service Rep) and Dave W (the Service Director) came to my rescue. Given my faithful service record with Honda and the premature failure of my transmission, they offered to pick up 90% of the cost of option #2 above! Wow, I had never heard of a company being so generous! I immediately took them up on the offer. While I had wait a while for the replacement transmission to arrive (over the Thanksgiving Holiday period), I was extremely happy with the result. In fact, the replacement transmission resolved an (unserviceable) issue that I had with my original 9-speed tranny - an intermittent hard shift (jerk) from 1st to 2nd - BONUS! My wife has never been happier with her car and we are very happy with the Service Department at AutoNation Honda Dulles. Thanks Mike and Dave! We recommend all our friends take their Hondas to you for service and will continue to be loyal customers.
