Excellent!
by denniswiles on 08/09/2010I have purchased 7 vehicles from Vandergriff Honda in the past few years. I am very pleased with the way the customer is treated at this dealership! I have always had the deals explained to me in detail. I have been able test drive the… vehicle, check with my insurance agent and take sufficient time to make a decision. The sales staff has always been courteous, helpful and informed. The Finance Office is professional and helpful as well. Every experience I have had has been outstanding at this dealership! I have always been nervous whenever I have faced the decision of buying a car. In the past, I have been uncertain of the prices, the best deals, etc. However, at Vandergriff Honda, my experiences have been positive and I have been given more information than I have ever received at any other dealership. The one word that I can use to sum up my dealings with Vandergriff Honda is --- excellent!I actually go here if they give me a discount in the mail or something
by paululrich on 02/16/2010I'd only use the showroom to test drive cars, but I've had good times with their service department. I guess since they rip customers on the car buying process, they can afford to have a good service department? I've had my oil changed… on my Odyssey there and I could tell the guy behind the counter enjoyed his job. I was in and out under an hour and I got to use their internet service. I sucessfully negotiated to get the Cat replaced even though the car was over 7 years old (but under 100K miles). I regotiated with the Honda corporate customer care, and Vandergriff helped me. They have always done competent work for me.Thugs never ever go to this dealership!!!!!!!
by jsjr1 on 11/19/2009We had horrible experience with them as we went their upon their invitation to look for a CRV lx which without any add ons they priced it at 270000 and was trying to prove that the numbers we gave is exactly what they are offering on the… trade in and the new car. The sales manager rude enough to tell that he is loosing money on the car. Very bad experience By Gods grace we escaped a real cheat on numbers on the final pricing sheet. They agreed to sell the new CRV at 20500 and made us sign the initial agreement and when the question of the trade in adjustement came we found out that he has added that to the price of the car instead of the original price now it is 27000. when asked he said we canot give the car for any thing less than that and so we have agreed and we must sign the final sales agreement. We insisted on not to agree and left the place promising our selves never to return again to this dealer and also not to recomend any one even our enemies to this place. They are [violative content deleted].worst dealer
by pissed7 on 11/09/2009I had my father go to Vandergriff Honda based on a friends recommendation, big mistake.Gave my dad a price of 27000.00 out the door for a 2010 Accord exl. When he sat down to sign the papers the salesman said "we made a mistake and forgot… to include the tax and it would cost $1600.00 more". This is the worst lying dealer out there. There was no mistake on the price, just a scam to get an extra $1600 at the end of the deal after they wasting 6 hours of our time. Avoid them at all cost because they will scam you, I had a friend "in" and they still tried to scam me. You don't have an "in" contact, they will scam you. They will give you a low price and switch the price when its time to sign the paperwork. My "in" was Ray Jones. They tried to screw my dad. Do not go to Vandergriff Honda. I did buy an Acura TL from Vandergriff Acura with no problems through the e-net department. Not the same experience with Honda. Warning, stay a way from Vandergriff Honda where the dealer add on and price switch are standard!!! I will never buy another car from any Vandergriff dealer!!!Please avoid this dealer!!!!!!!!!!!!
by bluesunflower on 07/21/2009Incompetent sales staff, high pressure, bait and switch tactics, can't take "no" for an answer no matter how many times you say it, this is the worst dealer I've been to. We finally stormed out after telling the 3rd sales manager for the… hundredth time we did not want to try their financing, that we had our own. Unless you want to pay sticker and above, use whatever financing they say, and not get the car you want, do not go to this dealer!NEVER BUY A CAR HERE!!!! THEY RIPPED US OFF!!
by famlyman on 06/28/2009My wife and I purchased 2 vehicles from this dealership in the last 18months. Upon the news of another baby being on the way, we decided we would like to trade our very clean 05 civic and 06 CR-V for a preowned pilot to have a little more… room, and my company now provides me with a vehicle so we no longer need the second car. After explaining our situation and being badgered for hours, we were told we were $12000.00 UPSIDE DOWN ON A CAR WE BOUGHT USED FROM VANDERGRIFF WITH ONLY 8K ADDITIONIAL MILES. To add insult to injury, they suggested we pay $7000.00 down AND make payment of $813.55/ Month on a used pilot, when the total for BOTH cars we paying was only $700 and we had to pay nothing down. We finaced our cars through banks we had worked with and both were financed around 8-10% interest. They were asking to pay 14.75% while our credit score is much better than it previously was, obviously a sign the were looking for a "kickbcak" from the bank. NEVER BUY A CAR HERE!. If you would like details on HOW THEY RIPPED US OFF! please feel free to post you comments and I will be glad to elaborrate.Dishonesty is what they practice
by speakatme1 on 06/16/2009OMG! They not only treat their customers with no respect. They treat their sales people the same. Finance Mgr had me there over three hours. We sealed the deal (at least I thought). Went back n forth on the payments. Got them where… I wanted them. Ok, traded in my car. He was back n forth on the found with the lender. He said you are not walking away with without this car tonight. Ok, signed all the contracts, gave proof of insurance, etc. How abuot a week later. You need to bring the car back, the bank didn't approve the deal. Excuse me, didn't I ask was this a done deal, didn't a sign a contract, c'mon you have got to be kidding me. Well, they wouldn't let us approve the deal. Interesting. I was floored. I just asked where my car I traded in was and to have my keys ready when I got their. How about my salesperson didn't know anything about it. His eyes were of a big surprise. Don't go to them. They are very dishonest, they will waste your time. I was told not to go to them. Did I listen, NO. Their are plenty of dealerships around and I am sure I will find one to assist me. Did I really buy the car no, they actually let me test drive it for a week after the contract and everything else had been done.More dishonest than most!
by just_us on 05/11/2009My husband needed a car, so we wanted to compare the CR-V to some other SUVs in its class. We went to Vandergriff Honda with that intention. We were greeted by a salesman who honestly gave his best effort, but was new, clumsy, and hung up… in the stress-inducing process he'd been trained to follow. For example, we told him we were in a hurry and just wanted to see a CR-V - it was *20 minutes* before he even made it to the lot (and he had to keep going back and forth for keys, leaving us waiting many, many times) because he was too busy asking about my current car payment and other things irrelevant to making the sale to my husband (which was made clear to him from the beginning). He did score some points by introducing us to the Element, which turned out to fit our needs better than the CR-V. However, when we were ready to discuss the actual purchase, the process was hung up yet again - we told him, again, that we were in a hurry and needed to speak with whomever had the authority to negotiate directly, rather than hassle with their typical back and forth, hours long, "checking with the manager" system. The guy who came out was rude and belittling...especially when we called them out on marking up the MSRP (yes, I mean the actual MSRP, not even including the $2,000+ in dealer add ons). They brought back a new sheet with a different MSRP (for the same VIN), which, when we got home, we found out was still high (by checking Honda's website). He also tried to pull the "you don't have car credit" sham on my husband in order to jack up the interest rate for financing. My husband has a great credit score, but has never financed a *vehicle* - however, when I financed my first vehicle we experienced that same line from a different dealer only to go to another one and have no problem getting it 0% financed with no mention of the supposed "car credit". I told the guy that "credit is credit" regardless of what it is for. He continued to insist otherwise, but through the course of negotiating was somehow able to magically lower the rate from 8.9% to 5.9% despite my husband's "first time buyer" status. Due to the dishonesty and horrible treatment we received, we decided to look for the vehicle elsewhere. However, my husband did not feel comfortable leaving his personal info (credit app) with people who obviously have no qualms about being deceptive and asked to have it returned to him. They then hassled him about that, speaking down to him like that was the dumbest request they'd ever heard. The *SALES MANAGER* even pettily ripped it in half and asked if "that's good enough". We persisted that it was not (obviously they could still do anything they wished with the info on it), so they finally agreed to allow him to watch them shred it. Unbelievable that people of that moral ineptitude have that much authority, but I guess that explains why those that rank lower than him have no regard for the truth or customer service.Know Before You Go
by barnak on 03/22/2008Sales Representative knew little about the car. Specifically, the dashboard controls, Navigation System, Radio. When he didn't know he'd make something up. My later research proved this to be true. Dealership advertised 0% financing. I… found that strange when I learned no other Honda Dealership in our area had 0% available. In addition Edmunds research stated no customer specials were available on the auto I wanted to purchase. Not until the Sales Representative came to me with his final offer did I learn that 0% was only available if I wanted to pay M.S.R.P. It was explained to me that the dealership "buys down" the interest rate. Basically, the customer pays to cover the 0% percent finacing by paying much more for the car. That's fine, as long as the Dealership explains that in their advertising, or to the customer early on in the buying process. Not at the very end. A banner ad runs across their website stating "0% finacing on all 08 Accords!" A radio commercial also boasts about the 0% special. That surely gets a lot of prospective buyers in their door. As far as I'm concerned telling half the story in their ad is intentionally misleading. I didn't buy the car. Bought it at another Dealership. One with knowledgeable staff and honest pricing.competent, honest, fair
by pcravener on 08/24/2012updated 06/04/2025My own service adviser is Chris Gonzalez, so this review applies primarily to him. However, in the past, I have had different advisers (different cars, same shop) and all have been excellent. Keeping a car well maintained is almost as… stressful a process for us of the 'the-car-is-necessary-but-not-fun' people. Chris makes the service process minimally stressful. You really can't do better.Patrick Jordan, Dustin Helt and Ondra Calvert are great!
by marledezma on 07/08/2012updated 06/04/2025Thank you Patrick Jordan, Dustin Helt and Ondra Calvert. These guys were great! I can't recommend them enough. When you need a new car, call Patrick and he can get you in a new one. These guys made it easy. Thanks guys. I'll see Mike Symank… when I need my oil change. I already got a hook up for service if I need it. Thanks again.great service

by agilefalcon on 06/10/2012updated 06/04/2025These aren't negotiable and start at $1200 and up to $3000 on the vehicles I was shown.Wow, where to start...
by n2wine on 05/30/2011updated 06/04/2025I sent price quote requests to 14 dealerships. I got two auto-generated emails from Vandergriff. I knew they had the model/color I wanted so replied to ask about a price on the specific vehicle and was very clear I did not want any… additional options on the vehicle besides what comes from the factory. The price was a little higher than I could get it out of state, but we decided we should purchase locally. I reconfirmed via email that the vehicle they had in stock (referenced the VIN number, etc.) was the price we were quoted and again said we didn't want any additional options. We got to the dealership expecting to just do the paperwork and pay, but surprise, the vehicle had additional dealer-installed options. It had over $4K of additional options!!! We told him no matter what was installed that we would not pay over the price we were quoted. We started getting the hard sell with the salesman requesting we do things "to show his manager we were serious" such as signing a little statement saying we would buy "if we could agree to terms" and such. With every back forth they wanted something additional--another statement, to show the manager a credit card, partially filling out a credit application, etc. I can't believe we fell for the credit card thing which was ruse to keep us there where we couldn't leave (salesman kept our card in his possession). We kept saying "no" to paying any more than we were initially quoted, so our salesman got the "big gun" to try to close the deal. We got more of the same rhetoric about how we were getting all of these additional options for a discount. The options weren't worth $5 to us when we didn't want any of them! The manager contradicted himself saying that we would have to pay $2K over our initial quote if we didn't want any dealer options yet he also told us that he may be able to get us the $4K of options for $1 over our quote. That makes no sense! We finally HAD to leave to pick up our son, and my husband had to go find the manager and the salesperson to get our credit card back. The salesman chased us out to our car as we left. Then the salesman had the nerve to call and email us asking why we hadn't purchased the vehicle and asking us if we were still interested. The salesman and the manager both told us another lie about how ALL dealerships add their own options. NOT TRUE!! We ended up buying out of state (3-hour drive from DFW) from a dealership that doesn't employ these tactics. We got the vehicle we wanted equipped as we wanted there. Vandergriff certainly has a different definition of what an "internet sale" should be than I do. This was such a sleazy experience that I felt like I needed a shower after. I would rather pay more than ever buy here.don't go to Frank Kent they have loaded Accords that on Honda's Offical site says 32k and they have them for 37-38k they add tint and some real cheap made chrome rims and they don't come of the Price! I made a comment to one salesman standing by it, I said 38K you could get a Caddy, lexus or Acura for that He said but this has a better resale value! WHAT?? I don't think so,
TOTAL WASTE OF TIME
by 2ndsantana on 06/16/2011updated 06/04/2025Total waste of time, exchanged email with this dealership for two weeks and accomplished nothing. I couldn't even get an OTD price. They said to make an offer to only be told two weeks later that they couldn't sell me the car for that… price. They will BS you and are never upfront.Simply the best....
by txpipes61 on 10/14/2012updated 06/04/2025I have been using Vandergriff Honda for the service on my 2004 Honda Odyssey since we moved to the area five years ago. Since my first visitin, I have never had a bad experience with this dealership. They strive to make your experience with… them a positive experience. I normally work with Chris G. in the Service Department but he was off the day I was in, so his associate Mike S. assisted me during my visit. Mike was absolutely super! He explained everything in detail as to the service work being performed, and answered all my questions thoroughly. He was very sincere, courteous, and professional in his approach, which is something that you rarely find in most customer service fields these days, let alone an automobile dealership. The whole team at Vandergriff Honda treats their customers as family. When I am ready to trade my Honda in, there is no question where I will bring my business. People like to do business with companies that they feel comfortable dealing with, and I for one would not hesitate to recommend Vandergriff Honda for sales or service. They are simply the best!Thank you for being a loyal customer to our dealership! Your kind words are greatly appreciated. Thank you for choosing Vandergriff Honda!
Great Service - Great Dealership
by erichelsel on 08/03/2012updated 06/04/2025Service Advisor Mike Symank was great! Brought in my Odyssey for warranty work and was in and out in one day. Make an appointment and they send you reminders via email and again when it is ready to pick up so you are not standing around.Dream Come True
by ibreezy on 08/23/2012updated 06/04/2025Everything was perfect the prices, the courtesy of the employees, and the thought of and effort that they put in to make me feel like, they are not going to ever give up on me because they will keep offering me cars that interest me and not… only that but the price and gas milliage! The best company ever to me. Thank You for everything HondaMost dishonest dealership I've ever been to.
by sandcrab on 02/26/2011updated 06/04/2025I went here with my girlfriend when we were looking to buy her a new car. Found a Trailblazer that we liked but because we had done our research knew that the sticker price was way more than at other places. Mentioned this to the salesman… and he totally ignored me. He kept going through his spiel about financing and trade-ins. I had to flat out tell him that we would not talk about the other details until he gave me a reasonable offer on the price. He took us inside and sat us down in his office until he could talk to his manager about how low he could go on the price. 15 minutes later another man came in and wanted to talk about the trade in. Told him that we would not talk about trade-ins until we got a price. Another 10 minutes of twiddling our thumbs until I told my girlfriend to wait in the car and had to track down the salesman. He finally came back with a price that was still 4-5 thousand more than other dealerships for the exact same car. I told him that was ridiculous and wanted a real offer. He said that he couldn't talk about price until he factored in trade-in and financing. He said, "We can't go further with this deal unless you are serious about buying this car. It sounds like you are price shopping at all the dealerships." OF COURSE I'm price shopping. I told him this and he stuck his hand out and said we were done then. I could tell he didn't want to deal with me unless he could rip me off. What kind of informed consumer would buy a car without going to other places and making sure they got a good deal. I have no problem with a car dealership and a salesman making money but I do not like getting ripped off. A good car buying process is one where everyone is happy. Do not waste your time going here. Their whole sales process is geared toward getting the most cash out of you as possible.Very Good Service Rep but
by raydell on 07/20/2013updated 06/04/2025Mike S. was a great facilitator in getting my work items complete. Kept me informed and explained issues as they arose.
About our dealership
How can the dealer rip u off when u can just walk away? And why are u thinking in terms of monthly payments and not the absolute numbers (a common mistake)?
