by paulk12 on 01/01/2015I brought my Prius to Lia Toyota last week. Steve in service was very nice. He quoted a price for the job and when I picked up the car the price was less then the quote. He could have charged me more or added other services to the bill but… didn't. Since this is the second time this has happened I will keep going back.Great experience

Since last week when we first went to Lia, we have been lied to regarding the terms of our purchase and today a sales manager insulted me,… argued with me, and yelled at me over the phone! I really want the vehicle we are trying to purchase but dealing with such rude and unethical staff is causing me alot of stress. I am a 40 year old professional woman who has purchased several cars over the last 20 some odd years and I have never been so insulted in my life by car salesmen! BEWARE of Lia Toyota, terrible unethical staff and poor service in terms of BATE AND SWITCH!! They ought to be ashamed!Excellen body shop Review

by joe502 on 02/20/2013updated 07/09/2025We use Lia Toyota for all the major services on our Siena Van, 2000, 140K, and Camry, 2002, 80K. The major service packages are fairly priced and I have never felt that they, or other inspections, resulted in any unnecessary service… recommendations. The Van has required an exhaust replacement and brake repair and that has been the only non scheduled maintenance/repairs required or recommended. The Camry is the same way, the exhaust system requires replacement which is to be expected for a Toyota of its age. I trust the service advisers to not recommend unneeded service, not like some other local dealers we have used in the past.Example of what you pay for

I love how they have worked with me regarding my service plan for my 05 Tundra and although prices are… higher than a mom or pop, work has been done right the first time everytime. They have even surprised me from time to time with unexpected discounts that I knew nothing about. They will keep my Tundra going for another 50k miles or more. Truly they are an example of you get what you pay for when compared to some quickie tire store for your service.Deceitful advertising practices
by middlem on 02/20/2013updated 07/09/2025I received both a printed advertisement in the mail as well as an email message indicating that Lia Toyota was "in desperate need of acquiring several pre-owned vehicles..." and that my vehicle qualified. They were offering 0% financing on… 11 new models. The advertisement included photos of 11 models, including the Prius. When I visited the dealership I was told that Prius was not included in the 0% financing offer and no one even offered to look at my current 2010 Prius. After I left I called back and questioned their advertising and was told, after a long wait on hold, that only the plug in Prius qualified. I felt disrespected, ignored and sent on my way. We've bought two cars from this dealership but the next one is likely to come from someplace else.very rude
by vivi5 on 07/05/2012updated 07/09/2025So today July 5, 2012 I contacted Lia Toyota in Colonie NY at 2116 Central Ave, Schenectady, NY I have been looking at the Siennas and I saw as they advertise on TV and the internet they offer 0% finance for 60 months, I email them asking… them to please contact me in the evening hours, and I got a call back right away and in in the morning hours while at work, I told the guy (Dave) I was at work and that I was not able to talk to him as I put in my request until the evening hours, I email him telling him I need to know how much could they give me for my car, he told me I had to go in person and I explain to him that I do not enjoy car shopping and everything else that involves it, he email me telling me that I had to go in person so they can take a look at the car, so I agree to go after work, I took my 2 year old because I have no choice, as soon as I got there Dave came out and introduce himself and a saleman that was going to help me, I cant recall his name right now, he was already aware of what I was looking for so he make me seat and asked me a bunch of question, what was my accomplishment today? Really I am not there to play tenis, but I was polite and told him, he asked me how much did I own on my old car, when I told me he laugh very sarcastically and asked how much was I paying now, how much do I want to pay? He also told me the zero % finance was not real, also told me that pretty much I was insane and that he was not able to help me, he said I am not going to waste your time because there is nothing I can do for you, I never say how rude he was but he said out loud in our 5 minute conversation that he was not trying to be rude..really? He was very rude and told me how much did the blue book told me I could get for my car, so I ask that means you are not even gona tell me how much you can give me for my car he said yes of course look over from his seat and did not give me an answer, so all of this could have been said to me over the phone, do not waste my time and theirs and did not even LOOK at my car, and made me feel very very small. I am going to make sure this is publish in as many reviews as I can people cannot be treated this way, I just had the hope and you crush it, that is why I hate car shopping, thanks a lotToo many games

Then sales Mgr. says I need to put down $500.00 for them to locate a '14 highlander of my choosing even… before we agreed upon a price.i walked out.Thanks for reaching out to us. Online quote not honored
by sg2011 on 05/21/2011updated 07/09/2025The Lia Toyota internet team provided a quote. We confirmed the quote over the phone multiple times before going in to make the purchase. When we went in the Sales manager said that it was not possible to give us the price that they quoted… online. They also said that they didnt believe me. When I logged onto their computer and showed them the email, they started giving lame excuses like - it may be for a different model, it didnt include some accessory etc.. etc.. while the online quote clearly stated " The out of the door price" and was confirmed over the phone. Waste of time. I think they quote low on the internet to get you into the dealership and then the sales guys on the floor dont want to honor that since their commission is reduced !Sales-Bad, Service-OK

I can tell that the sales person I dealt with was not approachable. His was either buy it for my price or leave. I would recommend… this dealer for service, but not to buy a vehicle. In fact I am in market again to buy a Hybrid (mostly Toyota) so I'll give another try with this dealer.Lost sale, lack of knowledge

Unfortunately the sales individual was very stubborn with his deal which forced me to look for a deal at another Toyota dealer who made me aware that there… was actually value that could be applied toward deal of new lease. Guess who go the sale? Not Lia.Incompetent and Rude
by benmfriedman on 08/06/2011updated 07/09/2025I had a loose heat shield on my 06 Corolla that needed to be fixed. Lia ordered the necessary part and scheduled me for a repair appointment. When I showed up for the appointment I waited for an hour and a half before they told me that they… didn't have the part yet and it wouldn't be in FOR A MONTH. The service rep then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't have come in without having checked that they had the part, even though they had assured me the part would be in when I scheduled the appointment. Only grudgingly apologized when I demanded it. Totally incompetent and rude. Avoid at all costs.Couldn't have been any happier!
by Famiyof4 on 02/20/2013updated 07/09/2025We went to Lia Toyota of Colonie knowing the exact USED vehicle we were interested in (from looking at the website inventory, then confirming via phone of its availability). Not once did Kermit try to sway us to another vehicle or change… our mind to buy new. He - and the financial guy - completely respected our wishes and worked with us to make the process as painless as possible. They were patient, (we had our 5 year old twins with us) answering all of our questions, forthcoming with all financial information and more than happy to accommodate our schedule. They provided us everything we needed and asked for. Several times, each staff member told us to call on them for any future needs. We actually did need to contact them regarding another item we needed for the vehicle a week or so later and Kermit was on top of it immediately. We can't say enough good things about Kermit or Lia Toyota! From a person who typically has purchased cars privately, we will certainly do business with Lia Toyota again next time we need a vehicle!Very Helpful

They had no clear hope of making a sale yet continued to assist me. Makes me believe they would be a great place to… buy a car from!!
