We have really good lawyers
by Business Day on 07/26/2023This is an actual, verbatim line that was said to me. I bought a Subaru STi at the end of December. After I got the car home I noticed that the front end was pretty banged up by rock chips. I texted the salesman to see if there was… anything they would do, and he offered to repaint the front fascia if I didn’t return the car. I asked twice if I could get some kind of written promise about the paint, but never received one. Being that my concerns were seemingly being dismissed, I decided to return the car. I bought the car on a Wednesday and returned the following Wednesday (5 business days) to use the advertised return policy. The first thing that I was told was that the day I bought the car was day 1. When I pointed out that the contract says 5 business days after the date of purchase, I was told that since they are open on Saturday, then Saturday counts as a business day. When I pointed out that the US code specifies that business days are Mon-Fri excluding federal holidays, that the contract does not redefine business day, and that a gas station being open on Christmas does not make Christmas a business day, he told me that Autonation has really good lawyers and that there is no way I would win this fight. They really threatened me with lawyers for trying to use an advertised benefit of buying a car from Autonation. Being that I am not familiar enough with contract law to argue, I chose to accept a written promissory note that the paint would be taken care of. It’s what I wanted anyways so kind of a win, right? It took three tries to get the paint right. Twice there was dirt in the paint. It was obvious that no prep work had been done as they just painted over the old paint. The masking was so bad that there was paint on the black trim pieces. After the second attempt I didn’t take the car with me, I waited until it was painted a 3rd time before I brought it home. As I was dealing with the paint issue, my temporary tag expired. Since I am not a CO resident, I registered the car in my home state of MN. They sent the paperwork to my in-laws house instead of the DVS, and didn’t even have all of the correct paperwork sent. This required me to hunt down a finance officer who could locate and email a purchase agreement so that I could properly register and plate the vehicle. The spare tire, which is part of the 125-point inspection, was filled with road salt. The suspension required immediate repair (covered under warranty, but still missed by the inspection). Given the above, I didn’t have confidence that the maintenance plan and the extended warranty I purchased wouldn’t create its own set of issues, so I cancelled and requested a refund. The maintenance plan refund was fast, but the warranty was sent with a bad address and had to be returned and resubmitted. It took over three months to get the refund. That was my first experience with Autonation as a brand. My first impressions are of a national brand that doesn’t practice the pragmatic and professional attitudes that they advertise. While it’s likely that I would have a different experience at another store, I know that I would make every effort to avoid the Arapahoe Toyota location and be hesitant to set foot in another Autonation. I personally wouldn’t recommend this dealership. 3/10.Great service experience

Service
by Sad But True on 07/24/2023My vehicle was dropped off on the scheduled day made one week prior to replace a recalled part. I called in the morning and they said it would be DONE by noon. I called at 1pm later (They didn't call me) that day and through a series of… talking with people out of state due to the their call transferring system, it took 35 minutes to talk with someone at the location. The service advisor said I needed to talk directly to the service advisor assigned to my job and put me through to his voice mail. I had a 8:30am appointment scheduled one week advance of the upcoming appointment with a recalled part that has to be replaced regardless if that wasn't the issue causing my vehicle to break down. They finally reach out via text due to my call and stated we don't have the recalled part and we have to order it so it will take two more days to fix it. I asked to the advisor, "why wasn't this part already ordered and why was I told it would be finished by noon if you didn't have the part". He said, "I don't know why we didn't order the part a week ago and I thought we had it, so I told you it would be done by noon". When I showed up on Thursday to pick my vehicle up, it was a confirmed the only thing wrong was the recalled part had failed. They had 9 service advisors in a row with no one standing in front of them, so I walked up to the first one and stated I was there to pick up my vehicle. He looks up the info and said your advisor is down at the end and I said the guy in the lane talking to a customer in the car? He said "yes". I went down and stood about 8 feet away waiting for him to finish talking (He didn't acknowledge I was standing there) and the advisor in front of me asked if I needed any help. I told him I was there to pick up my vehicle. He pulled up my info and walked over to my assigned advisors desk and pulled the paperwork to get me checked out. The first advisor who sent me down to my assigned advisor saw he was the only advisor talking with a customer and didn't want to help out his colleague or myself. The advisor who checked me out was the only one I had a positive interaction with and actually got something done! I don't blame the service advisors, the fault lies with the ownership and upper management. If you want to understand the core values and the level of expectations from a company, just identify the interactions with the employees. This is not a one off... I understand things happen and people make mistakes but when you see the process is broken and a series of breakdowns causing bad information and terrible customer service, and lack of urgency from employees (Except the one advisor who checked me out) this is a culture issue led by out of touch leadership that doesn't really know how inept the company operates. I was getting ready to buy a new vehicle but because of multiple failures from customer service to service advisors, I knew this is something that wouldn't be corrected, so I will have to drive farther from my house to buy a new vehicle to avoid this mess.Hi, we regret your experience with us here, but are glad you brought this to our attention. by Martievery on 07/17/2023My appointment was at 12:45, Quoted 2 hour max. They said it was mandatory I bring it in, for a tire rotation and check fluids. I told the service guy I only had one other battery for my oxygen concentrator. At 4pm when I finally went back… to see what the hold up was the 4runner was ready they just didn't tell me. This Autonation has NO RESPECT for their customers time. News flash our time is just as valuable as yours. The worst service ever, I absolutely dread having to go back.Hi, we are deeply disappointed by your experience at AutoNation Toyota Arapahoe. Service
by Gr88Ste on 07/16/2023Arrived at 6:50 am for a 7:00 am appt. Waited over 3 hours for an oil change. But I made the appointment for the replacement of the front transfer case (recall) and the oil change. I was told it would be about 2 hours. I had to go ask for… my car at 9:50 am. Tech went to look but said car was probably out or test drive. Tech said he would come get me. I went looking again at 10:20 and he told me they just finished, but they have to order the recall case? WHAT? I stayed calm and was given my receipt with another person’s address printed on it - didn’t notice till I got home.Hi, we are deeply disappointed by your experience at AutoNation Toyota Arapahoe. Not the best
by PR_LT.. on 07/14/2023I took my vehicle in for the scheduled maintenance that was included in my Toyota Care packed with the purchase of my new vehicle, which I purchased from this location. The lady that checked me in was nice, and set appropriate expectations… on the timeline to complete. The checkout process left a lot to be desired. The service manager that checked me out all but threw a pen in my direction and pointed and told me to 'sign here' and that all looked good. In the past I was given a brief rundown of the service that was performed, any findings (i.e. things that may need to be addressed) and asked if I had any questions. Is it because I'm female? Is it because this service was 'free'? I was made to be felt like he couldn't be bothered. After signing, I was handed my keys and pointed to the general direction of my vehicle. Walking up to it I noticed the large, numbered hanging tag on the rearview mirror, which was odd, that had always been removed in the past, but didn't think anything of it. When I got in, the oily paper mat used by techs to protect my floor mats was still there as well. Don't worry Toyota, I'll take care of your trash! I keep my vehicle clean, and it definitely was not returned how I dropped it off. Driving away I looked up at the new sticker on the windshield that lets you know when your next service is due, and in the date field in ineligible scribble it just said 'thanks'. Yeah, thanks indeed. At least the milage was filled in. Halfway home I received a text with two pictures of filters that needed to be addressed, I guess I'll take care of those too. The only reason I gave two stars is because the lady that initially helped was pleasant, otherwise I would have rated just one. DO BETTER! I’d appreciate being treated as the valuable customer I am to Toyota. We own several Toyotas and have purchased and traded in several cars to this specific dealership. We’ve even moved further away, and still commute to this location, but am certainly considering going elsewhere, both for service, and future purchases.Hi, we are deeply disappointed by your experience at AutoNation Toyota Arapahoe. 40,000 mile check up
by Kari1111 on 07/13/2023I spent over 2 hrs waiting for my car for an oil change and 40,000 mile check up. I told Marco I needed my car by 3:15 because I have to work. He told me it should be done by 3:15 because they quite about 1.5 hrs. Well needless to say it… wasn’t done, I had to call an Uber (spent 30.00)to get to work, my husband and daughter and to spend 1 hr of their time to drive there and pick up my car so I would have it for work the next day. Marco called at 3:40 to tell me the “great news” that my car was done but I was already in an Uber on my way to work because he never came back to his desk to follow up with me and never even knew I left. Needless to say it was very disappointing and after my service package is done- I won’t be back to waste anymore of my time- no body has 2.5 hrs to sit and wait for an oil change. Service needs to speed up and your people need to care who they are impacting.Hi, we regret your experience with us here, but are glad you brought this to our attention. Long wait to find out they don't have the part
by greggy$$ on 07/10/2023Made an appointment to resolve a Toyota recall item one month in advance. Brought the car in on time as scheduled. Took over 3 hours of not communication before I went to inquire and after 20 minutes of the rep checking down the status,… found that the part needed for the fix was not in stock and they would have to order it from out of state and then set up another appointment for the fix. Couldn't they have been proactive on this and ordered the part in advance ? They did, however, do a good job on the multi point inspection.Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We'd like the opportunity to make this up to you, so if you're willing, please contact our General Manager at (303) 578-6111. We hope to hear from you.
