Long wait to find out they don't have the part

onMade an appointment to resolve a Toyota recall item one month in advance. Brought the car in on time as scheduled. Took over 3 hours of not communication before I went to inquire and after 20 minutes of the rep checking down the status, found that the part needed for the fix was not in stock and they would have to order it from out of state and then set up another appointment for the fix. Couldn't they have been proactive on this and ordered the part in advance ? They did, however, do a good job on the multi point inspection.
