Go to Laurence!
by kdc213 on 08/16/2010We bought a 2010 CRV from Laurence Bautista yesterday and our experience was wonderful! We had come into San Tan Honda feeling shaken and upset from a horrible experience at another local Honda dealership where we felt pressured and… bullied. We felt none of this at San Tan. Everything that was an option on our vehicle was explained as just that, an OPTION! We felt like we understood the process well and Laurence also got more on our trade in for us than any other dealer. We will definitely buy the rest of our cars from Laurence and will recommend any friend to him!Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Good service
by devils41 on 01/11/2010Great friendly and did everything right then and there. Great service and follow up. Glad I went to this dealership.Continued Problems
by g2434 on 01/06/2010The brakes on my wife's Honda Accord started squeaking so she made an appointment and took the car to San Tan Honda. They "fixed" the problem for a couple hundred dollars. A week later we took a trip out of town in her vehicle and the… brakes were making a bad grinding/crunching noise and it did not stop the vehicle smoothly. She took it back in and they told her the problem was with the rear brakes. She explained to them that they had just fixed the brakes. They told her that they fixed the front brakes but not the rear brakes. This time she paid them a couple hundred dollars to fix the rear brakes. Within a few months she had to take it back because the brakes were making a horrible grinding noise and the car was still stopping very roughly. This time they said there was no problem with the brakes, but they would change the pads. She told them they had just fixed them and said they didn't change the pads on the previous two service calls. They said it would cost a couple hundred dollars, but they would discount it down to below two hundred. She explained the problem was a continuing problem and she had already paid them, they responded that the reason they had not fixed it before is because she had requested that they not change the pads. She explained to them that she doesn't even know what a brake pad is and she brought here car to have them fix the problem what ever it was. She finally told them she was going to take her car somewhere else. They charged here for the evaluation and she left. To say the least the quality of service received was incredibly poor.Laurence Batista provided my best car purchase experience ever!
by lavalady on 08/11/2009I had test driven both the Honda Fit and the Honda Insight at a Tucson dealership and decided on the Insight. Unfortunately, the sales person and sales manager in Tucson played all of the usual games. They wouldn't come down on the price… (because they "weren't making any money", "the Insight sells almost as soon as they receive them in", a lady was coming back in two hours to buy it if we didn't, another guy was waiting to test drive it, they didn't know when they would be getting another one, etc.). So I checked online and found out that the SanTan dealership in Chandler had several in stock. I called Laurence Batista, and he quoted me an Out the Door price that was $1,200 less than the price in Tucson. We drove up yesterday and picked up our new Insight. Throughout the process, Laurence was friendly, professional, and down-to-earth. We didn't have to play any games with him or a sales manager, and the price he quoted me over the phone was the price we paid. After signing the paperwork, the finance person showed us a video of available upgrades (extended warranty, LoJack, etc.), but he did not attempt to pressure us in any way. After the sale, Laurence took the time to go through all of the features of the car in detail, right down to how to set the radio stations and temperature control, gave us tips on how to drive it to maximize our gas mileage, etc. This was by far my best car purchase experience ever, and it was well worth the drive from Tucson to Chandler.Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Watch out for the Sales Manager
by bbake1 on 08/05/2009Bought a used car at SANTAN HONDA from salesperson Dennis Berger. Seemed to take forever to get the paperwork moving. All was going well until delivery when we received only one key. We were told that was all there was. No happy we went to… service after exchanging words with our inept salesperson and found out that a new key and remote would be $248. We went back in to see the Sales Manager who approached us without a word or introduction and stood there. We finally spoke up and asked what he was going to do for us. The Sales Manager took an aggressive posture towards us and stated that SANTAN HONDA would do nothing, we took delivery and he pointed us towards service. Be sure to get EVERYTHING in writing and do not overlooked the details. These guys will take you any way they can. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. We have had great service from [another dealership], just wished they had the car we wanted at the time.Exceptionally pleasant buyer experience
by azodyssey on 07/28/2009We first contacted the dealer by email using Edmunds. SanTan Honda replied within a few hours with detailed information regarding the price of the vehicle we were interested. From the receipt of the email to closing the deal 48 hours later,… I can say the experience was strongly oriented to a positive customer experience. The sales representative that helped us impressed me immediately with his detailed knowledge of the vehicle, right down to it's origin of manufacture based on the first digit of the VIN. His demeanor was very pleasant with no sales pressure whatsoever. He was open, informative, and completely frank. He shared priciing information right from the computer screen and explained the various details around the pricing structure. He took notice of our particular needs (e.g. 3 young children) and then explained the pros -and- cons of the various vehicle options relative to our needs. He compared the Cash for Clunkers option to a traditional trade-in for our trade-in vehicle and presented the comparison in a simple but detailed manner, right down to the difference in taxes and of course the bottom-line. The finance guy was no-pressure as well. We didn't have to fend off aggressive attempts to sell us over-priced add-ons. The options were explained side-by-side in detail with pricing shown in black and white. Our questions were answered fully, frankly, and with our locale in mind. Options that didn't make sense for our specific situation (e.g. GAP insurance) were not even presented. By the time we completed the purchase and the vehicle orientation, I felt like we'd not only acquired a new quality car, but a trusted relationship with the dealer. That is not an easy feat to accomplish let alone in a few hours time. It speaks greatly to the service we were provided and we received that service even with the agressively competitive price we paid for the vehicle. As we were wrapping up the transaction, I commented to the sales rep on how well he knew the vehicle compared to many other sales people I'd spoken with. He indicated simply that he cares, and it's about building relationships as much as selling a vehicle. It may sound like a canned advertisement, but after the experience we just had, I believe every word of it.Laurence is the man!
by utahman1995 on 05/08/2009I came to this dealership late last summer and encountered a very pushy salesman who turned me off of buying a car altogether. I came back a few days ago after doing some research on the internet and met Laurence Bautista, who was the… exact opposite of the first salesman I met with. Laurence was extremely helpful and not pushy at all, even when I said I wanted to go home and think about it before signing. We ended up buying a Certified Used 2008 CR-V that was originally advertised for sale at a Tucson dealership for $3,000 less. When we showed Laurence the information from the Tucson dealer's website, he agreed to honor the Tucson price. He also went out his way to track down and pay out of his own pocket a missing part for us. Unfortunately, the finance department was not nearly as impressive, and I was offered next to nothing on my trade-in, which I ended up selling for much more to someone else. But you can't go wrong with Laurence. We will definitely look to buy from him again.Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Shady experience at San Tan
by 007si on 04/21/2009I bought an 05 certified Honda Civic with them last fall. The facility is nice, and I didn't feel pressured until I got inside. I decided to go for it, since the payments were in the range I was looking for. I filled out the paperwork… and took it home. About a week or so later, they called my wife and I and said they filled out the paperwork incorrectly, and we needed to sign it again. Only, months later, we discovered that the paperwork had changed and they upped our interest rate to 8.9%!! They failed to mention that little detail, and only months later did we realize the mistake. Had I found out back then, I would have given them the car back. I had not agreed to the 8.9% initially, nor would I ever! I have a 700+ credit score, and credit unions are giving out rates as low as 4.9%. All in all, it was a learning experience for my wife and I. They were good at what they did (leaving out truths) and they got us. However, they won't see me there ever again, not even for service. Simply put, I will not trust them, and customers should be careful when re-signing paperwork.First Rate Experience at San Tan Honda
by greyhawk1 on 04/14/2009It was a pleasure to work with Laurence Bautista, the Costco sales contact person at San Tan Honda. My first impression of him via the phone was positive and that impression stayed with me throughout the sales process. On our first visit to… the showroom, we were interested in test driving one of the Honda makes. My wife and I went for a test drive with Laurence and we were impressed with the knowledge that Laurence had about the car and his professionalism. We did not purchase a car that day. We returned to the dealership on another day and told Laurence we were not certain that the vehicle we tested, although a good one, was the right car for us. Laurence encouraged us to return to dealership when the new Insight would arrive and we told him we would do so. Laurence contacted us when the Insight arrived and we returned to the dealership to test drive it. It was an impressive vehicle but when we returned to the dealership to discuss the car further I made an inquiry about the Civic Hybrid. Laurence encouraged us to try that as well by telling us it is good to do back to back comparisons. I told him that we already had taken up too much of his time and he said not at all. We test drove the Civic Hybrid and were very impressed with it and purchased it that day. Throughout the process Laurence was professional, knowledgeable and patient while not applying any pressure at all. When we negotiated the price Laurence was very helpful and brought in Ladd to help arrive at what we all felt was a fair price. Ladd, like Laurence, was professional and amicable. Both gentlemen are a credit to San Tan Honda. If you are interested in purchasing a Honda, then I recommend you give Laurence the opportunity to sell one to you. You will find him to be first rate.Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Best experience we've had!
by Hotrodder00 on 01/11/2009Laurence Bautista contacted me after I mentioned to my salesman at Acura that I was leaning more towards an Accord, but didn't have the best experience when we bought my wife's Ridgeline at Showcase less than a year ago. Dan Beaudette… (very awesome guy at Acura of Tempe!) had Laurence contact me to see what I was looking for. Less than an hour later, we were at the dealership ready to pick out our new Accord! I was very surprised. I wanted an EX-L V6 w/nav that didn't have window tint (which is 'standard' at most dealerships in the valley). He had one for me! We went to the lot and looked at it, since I had already driven the vehicle, we were ready to pick out accessories and take it home. Laurence is probably the most knowledgeable salesman I have met, and it's not just accords, he knew everything about every honda vehicle! We had multiple salesman stop in to ask him a quick question about a specific feature - which I didn't mind, it actually gave me peace of mind! Once the paperwork was filled out, we were taken to finance. Alex Gonzales took care of us there . . . .for the most part. He tried VERY hard to push extended warranty, lojack, some other 'safety' feature, simoniz package, tire and package warranty, etc, etc, etc......I've owned 4 Hondas already . . . a 90 Accord with 97,000miles on it, a Civic with 186,000miles on it and another civic I sold to my sister with 45,000 miles on it, and the new ridgeline......I've NEVER taken a honda in for an issue other than maintenance. He didn't seem to understand that, or the fact that now that I'm out of college, I don't hang on to cars for more than 2 to 3 years. He was very organized, however and other than that, it was an easy process. Overall, this was the best experience we've ever had buying a car, and we got the best deal, by far. Just so you know, we passed 6 Honda dealerships to travel across the valley to get to San Tan Honda, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you, San Tan Honda!Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Great experiance at SanTan Honda
by bruha00 on 01/04/2009We purchased an 08' Honda CRV from SanTan Honda on 1/3/09. No buyers remorse the next morning. Laurence Bautista and the staff at SanTan were great and made the vehicle buying experience simple and straight forward. No high pressure sales… tactics or pushing you to purchase stuff you don't want or need. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. Laurence is an asset to the dealership and I would recommend him to anyone. H. SandersonCongratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. Civic buying experience
by mevoy on 08/31/2008My wife and I purchased a new 2008 Civic yesterday from SanTan - we were helped by Lawrence Bautista. Lawrence works primarily, as I understand it, with fleet (online) and Costco member sales. The experiece was very pleasant; Lawrence was… very helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable about his product. We did not feel pressured at any time, but felt we were dealt with very openly and fairly. I was pleased with the additional savings we recieved by means of our Costco membership, and the dealer also worked directly with out credit union to get us a very reasonable APR. It took a total of about 4 hours from walking in the door to driving away with a new car; but I was honestly suprised at how much time had passed. The experiece did not feel drawn out or laborious, as car buying often can. The facility was comfortable and the service very pleasant. We got a very good deal - I had done my homework and estimated what we were willing to spend, what we wanted for the trade-in, and what I hoped to get for an interest rate. After some negotiation, we came to an outcome that was very close to what I had been shooting for. We were also assisted by Alex Gonzales in the finance department, who was also extremely professional and helpful. Working with Alex, we were able to get a very good deal on an extended warrranty; a luxury I had not forseen being able to afford. I expect that in the future, all of our service needs and any future Honda purchases will be done with this same facility and staff.Congratulations on your purchase and thank you for allowing me to help you with your vehicle needs. My new Accord
by 1gloman on 08/19/2008I was shopping on the internet for days. I finally came across Jon Mefford with SanTan Honda. If you are tired of the games SanTan Honda is the place. The entire process was specticular and honest! Jon and SanTan Honda did everything they… said they would and treated me like I was their only customer. If you are in the car market, this is the place!Miserable Experience
by vegasvice99 on 05/28/2008I was seeking quotes for a Honda Civic LX Automatic Sedan from dealers in the Phoenix area. I was very clear as to the car I was looking for and their fleet manager, a Mr. Beaudette quoted me an out the door price of $18,321, which was a… decent deal and competitive with other offers that I had received. When I tried to firm it up and take the deal, I was told that the quote was a mistake because they had quoted a manual transmission LX, and that the automatic would be more than $800 more. The General manger of the dealership, sent me a "form" email asking for my feedback on the transaction and I gave him my unvarnished opinion, expecting maybe an apology and a reasonable offer. I have still not heard from the General Manager and it is a week later. I made a deal with a competitor, Stay away from Santan Honda. They don't give a damn about the customer.Excellent experience with Laurence Bautista at SanTan
by zonamon on 04/17/2008My first Honda was a 2003 Accord LX Sedan. I loved that car; little maintenance, and all I had to do at 50,000 was to replace the tires and brakes. All of my service was done via Honda Cars of Mesa (now SanTan Honda). I really appreciated… the excellent service I received there from Darrien(sic?) and his crew. I turned in my '03 yesterday with 67,000 miles on it! I shopped three Honda dealers in my area, Mesa, AZ, and Laurence Bautista vied for my business. He was ALWAYS helpful, and honest. On the 4th of April, My Pop and I were at Ted's eating red-hots, when I said to Dad, "Let's run to the dealer". The dealer I went to that day wasn't SanTan Honda, as they moved from my neighborhood. However, I was at SanTan Honda the weekend before and would recommend Laurence Bautista highly. The ONLY reason I didn't lease a car from SanTan and Laurence was that I didn't want to commute to Chandler for service. Laurence and his supervisor were on top of it. Prompt replies to my email shopping, and the prices were almost identical to the dealer I leased my Bold Biege Metallic Accord LX. I LOVE MY CAR!!!Congratulations on your purchase!! Even though you were not able to purchase from me, I appreciate the opportunity work with you. If there is anything that I could do for you in the future, or if you just want to chat, you could NOW find me @ Subaru next door.
Trade-in lies
by stat1 on 04/02/2008I traded my 01 civic for an 08 civic. I negotiated my trade-in with my sales associate David Cohen and another associate named Dave. During the negotiations, they both said my trade-in would have to be sold at auction because it has… performance modifications. They both said numerous times that the 01 civic would not and could not be sold on the SanTan lot because of the modifications. They said the vehicle would have a higher trade-in value if it could be sold on the SanTan lot. The trade-in value is $5500-$6000. We agreed on $5000 because the car would be sold at auction (not on the SanTan lot). A few days later, I found my trade-in (performance modifications still on the car) for sale on the SanTan lot. They lied to me about my trade-in going to auction so I would agree to accept less for my trade. Jon Mefford e-mailed me and asked if I was satisfied with my experience at the dealership. I sent Jon an e-mail and explained the situation and how I felt deceived during the trade-in negotiations. He said that he would look into it. This was over two weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from this dealership.Honda CR-V purchase
by tol2 on 05/22/2014updated 08/05/2025We recently purchased a Honda CR-V from salesperson Ken P at AutoNation Honda Chandler. His information based approach put us immediately at ease and there was no pressure to buy. He was, and still is helpful with all questions regarding… the purchase and the vehicle. We truly felt that Ken was looking out for our best interest. I would recommend Ken to any potential buyer of a new vehicle.Old Fashion Customer Service
by ralphg12 on 08/25/2012updated 08/05/2025We had decided to purchase a 2012 CRV AWD but were not sure what model we wanted. After reading through the reviews in search for a dealership we found that San Tan Honda of Chandler had the best reviews from sales to service. We used the… service dept. before and was pleased. In one of the reviews Chris Moore was mentioned with an A+ rating for his salemanship. He lived up to his reputation. He brought to the table excellent product knowledge, patience and the ability to listen. We needed to order our 2012 CRV in order to get the LX with AWD. Chris kept us informed through phone, e-mail and text messaging. We really appreciated the communications throughout the process. Another customer serivce attribute we liked at San Tan Honda was the Team of people that are an extention of the salesman. We always had our questions answered. Our Honda Team, Ladd, Barry, and Tom helped make our experience easier and more informed so that we could make the best decision. We will pass out their business cards with confidence.Surprisingly pleasant experience
by jsev20 on 03/12/2011updated 08/05/2025We decided it was time to trade in my hail-damaged Ranger for a more fuel-efficient Honda Civic. The Ranger was rough to say the least and I was doubtful they'd even take it as a trade. Not only did they take it, they gave me more than I… expected for it! Normally I would expect the sales guy to play games with the price of the vehicle, or add in hidden charges to compensate but they did not. We had a fair negotiation that was pleasant and quick. Ray Saade, our salesman, was very easy to work with and even disagree with. When we went into the finance department for the paperwork, there were no surprise numbers, no hard sell for the warranty, and we were out of there in 15 minutes! I have bought from several Honda dealers in the valley and can say that San Tan Honda is hands down the best. It is a fair and honest negotiation with no pressure. They don't try to trick you out of your money, and they are up front in letting you know that they need to make a fair profit. I fully expected the full regimen of mind games, pressure, scare tactics, etc - but there was none of that here. Very professional, and highly recommended. I recommend Ray Saade as a salesman that is very easy to work with, professional, and respectful of your time and intelligence. You just can't go wrong here.We had a great experience at this dealer
by brilor on 05/26/2011updated 08/05/2025My wife and I had a very professional, courteous and helpful experience buying our 2012 Civic EX from Walt and Jeff at San Tan Honda in Gilbert, AZ. We would return again for our next vehicle.FABULOUS experience!! Seriously! Ray was the best!!
by azladynred on 03/12/2011updated 08/05/2025Oh my goodness..buying a car was a WONDERFUL experience! Seriously! A Gentleman named Ray at San Tan Honda in Chandler was so awesome to us. We got a GREAT deal on a '11 Civic Ex Sedan. We are THRILLED with it and our experience. On cloud… nine! We didn't feel pressured in any way while looking at cars and during the buying process. I never thought I would ever write a glowing review about a car dealership or a salesman, but they totally deserve it and I will be telling everyone who will listen! Thanks San Tan Honda! Thanks Ray!! You are both awesome!!
