Dealership Sales Review
I had test driven both the Honda Fit and the Honda Insight at a Tucson dealership and decided on the Insight. Unfortunately, the sales person and sales manager in Tucson played all of the usual games. They wouldn't come down on the price (because they "weren't making any money", "the Insight sells almost as soon as they receive them in", a lady was coming back in two hours to buy it if we didn't, another guy was waiting to test drive it, they didn't know when they would be getting another one, etc.). So I checked online and found out that the SanTan dealership in Chandler had several in stock. I called Laurence Batista, and he quoted me an Out the Door price that was $1,200 less than the price in Tucson. We drove up yesterday and picked up our new Insight. Throughout the process, Laurence was friendly, professional, and down-to-earth. We didn't have to play any games with him or a sales manager, and the price he quoted me over the phone was the price we paid. After signing the paperwork, the finance person showed us a video of available upgrades (extended warranty, LoJack, etc.), but he did not attempt to pressure us in any way. After the sale, Laurence took the time to go through all of the features of the car in detail, right down to how to set the radio stations and temperature control, gave us tips on how to drive it to maximize our gas mileage, etc. This was by far my best car purchase experience ever, and it was well worth the drive from Tucson to Chandler.
