DO NOT BUY Extended WARRANTY or GAP thru dealer
by kabuky on 02/27/2019I "bought" an extended warranty for my "new" used car. $2200 for it. I was told I could call the dealer within 24 hours to also purchase GAP insurance ($700). I went back next day to the dealer to get a few items out of my trade in car… that I forgot and told them I had decided not to buy GAP insurance through them ($700 vs $345 thru loaning bank) and decided I didn't want the $2200 extended warranty either. "OOPS, you will have to wait for refund through Subaru" as bank had processed loan. BIG lie - the bank did not process my loan for over a week. TO date, I am STILL waiting for that $2200 check for that canceled warranty. Subaru International says they wired the money 26 days ago. In Contrast, I canceled my other warranty for my tradein vehicle two weeks ago - already have the check in hand. WHY I only got $300 back out of a $2000 warranty when I have only driven 30k out of the 64k policy is another rip off.Ask for Andrew @ Subaru of Puyallup!
by michelleknight on 05/03/2017THANK YOU ANDREW! This was my first time car buying experience. I was able to snag a 2016 certified Pre-owned Subaru with less than 20,000 miles for under $20,000. The process was so much easier than expected and I was in and out of the… dealership in less than two hours with a purchased car (test driving- signed paperwork/financing)! Not only that, Andrew was able to get me a lower monthly rate than originally planned. This guy is legit! He didn't give me that "pushy car salesman vibe" that most people fear and personally I felt like I was buying a car from someone I'd known for years. If I had any sort of question or concern, he would reply back to me in minutes (very responsive and personable). He did everything he could to make us happy and satisfied. Also, very knowledgeable about cars in general. I highly recommend this guy! Thanks again Andrew!Hi Michelle, thank you for your positive review! We are very happy to hear about your stress free experience with Andrew and our dealership! We hope you are enjoying your new Crosstrek and look forward to working with you again in the future!
2017 WRX
by Subbie17 on 04/09/2017My Wife and I were recently in the market for a new vehicle. We had our choices narrowed down between the 2017 WRX and the Ford ST. After much research and since we both owned Subarus in the past we went with the WRX. This is where things… got interesting, after contacting a few dealerships close to our home in Seattle we were quite disappointed. All the places has their WRX's at well over the msrp pricing. Now we both knew that a Subaru wasn't going to be cheap and we won't be able to get a significant discounts which Fords offer, because Subaru does hold its value really well and the build quality is top notch plus many other reasons why you won't find deep discounts on new Subaru's. However the dealership we did contact with pricing questions(which my wife used in the past) did not even respond. The others had such a huge mark up that we were almost discouraged to buy a car. That's when I came across Subaru of Puyallup. I contacted their online sales team via email and Judi got back to me promptly asking us what our needs are. I had a chance to talk with her via phone regarding pricing and my experience with other dealers having such a big mark up on vehicles at which point she really took the time to explain why others might mark up the msrp. She never "bad mouthed" the competition but focused our needs and found a WRX at a price I was surprised to see. We came down from Seattle to test drive the car she found for us at which point Dima was there to test drive with us and provide us with all the information about the car. He took his time on the test drive, was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and we never felt pressured to buy or make a decision. We knew what we wanted and the car we test drove was the one. We ended up buying the WRX we test driven that day and the process was a breeze. No "up selling" of useless features and services. There were no surprises about the final cost. I would highly recommend you check these guys out, definitely compare prices so you're making a calculated decision on a major purchase but in my case I know for a fact I got a great deal on my car. We ended up getting the 2017 WRX Premium at a little below msrp with 4 actually great options installed at the factory. If your new to the Subaru brand please understand that they will cost a little more, the ST is a good car and Ford will discount a huge chunk off of the msrp to move its inventory but it's not Subaru and you do get what you pay for. Also found in my research that Subaru pricing is a little more tightly controlled by the factory itself and the dealer isn't provided with huge incentives like Ford dealerships so they are not making nearly as much money off of new car sales like Ford dealerships.Marvelous Experience!
by mwilkins on 03/03/2017Subaru of Puyallup makes the car buying experience a much less daunting adventure. After searching for a new Outback, I was drawn to Subaru of Puyallup for the competitive pricing, but more specifically, the customer service. Andrew Wheeler… was our salesman. From the moment we stepped onto the lot, Andrew was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. There was not a text or email that did not get a quick response, even on his days off. He searched and secured the exact Outback model I wanted and had it on the lot for me. I am not the easiest customer to deal with, often indecisive and impatient. Andrew took all of that in stride and made the car purchase a breeze. My husband will need a car this month (VW buyback), and we will definitely be going back to Subaru of Puyallup and Andrew Wheeler for our new purchase. Oh, and the cherry on top, the waiting room is marvelous and you can even get a massage.Kimberlee C. and Subaru of Puyallup are awesome
by Breeeeeee on 02/24/2017Subaru of Puyallup had the greatest prices and everyone we came across was so friendly! I love my new Subaru and I was so thankful that Kimberlee C. helped me pick my perfect car. She went above and beyond on my test drive showing me all… the cool new features my car had. She new the best roads to take for each feature (down hill, freeway, parking, etc.) She even made an appointment with me for a week later so I could come in if I had any questions. She synced my phone and was just generally awesome. I highly recommend Subaru of Puyallup- if your looking for a car. Give Kimberlee a call!Hi Bree, thank you for your review! NOT Stress Free
by LauraSeitz on 12/29/2015I originally wrote a review of this dealership on what I thought was their Facebook page. After a little digging, I realized they have a different Facebook page, one they probably created to hide the original one with all the bad reviews.… Here is my review with an update: I recently purchased a new Outback from Subaru of Puyallup and it was anything but stress free! The salesman made multiple promises that he couldn't keep. After the purchase papers were signed, they inform us that the car only comes with one key (but we can buy one for a couple hundred dollars!) and that we should add on $2500 of additional options. The car was sold with a security system, but after I signed papers, they let me know that it is only on the driver door and I have to pay extra for the other doors. This was my first time buying a car and I believe they took full advantage. We were promised a loaner car while they put the tint on the car and put a security system on all four doors (which we were told would take a couple hours max), which I confirmed with customer service when I scheduled the appointment. When my fiancé showed up for the appointment, they informed him that it would take all day and there is no loaner car. They had to rent a car from Enterprise and required our debit card to rent it, even though they "promised" to pay for it. If I had known everything they told me was a lie, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Update: my car was totaled in an accident two weeks from the date of purchase. The additional warranty that we purchased did not cover anything, which is fine because my insurance took care of it, but what is most concerning is the way we were sold the additional warranty. The Business Manager, when explaining the coverage, said this policy would replace our car with a brand new car with 0 miles if the car was stolen or totaled. Great deal, right?! Wrong. What she SHOULD have said was that the car would be replaced if it was stolen and not recovered or stolen and totaled. It is this sort of deceitful language and shady business practices that give car dealerships a bad reputation and it is the main reason I will not be returning to Subaru of Puyallup to purchase a new Subaru.Awsome Sales - Stress Free - Ask for Heather!
by tag14 on 03/21/2015I was so impressed with the sales person at this dealership. Heather was able to answer all of my questions, listened to my concerns, and was very competent. One of my concerns was to make sure my dog fit in the car. I was able to drive… the car home and make sure Darwin fit. The next day I was looking for a dog barrier and Heather happened to call. I told her I was having problems finding a barrier. She went to the service department, confirmed that they had a barrier, then went to the service department and arranged a time for me to have the barrier installed. The barrier was installed that day! I don't think I could get any better service from any other dealership.Pre owned Truck
by Allan_C on 01/19/2013updated 06/05/2025Dave W. was my sales representative. He was completely forthright and honest in every detail of this sale from beginning to end. Dave would be the sales representative I would recommend to see. Particularly if you want a no pressure and… pleasant experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend Dave at Subaru of Puyallup. You will not be disappointed. One Happy Buyer
by tvh1882 on 03/22/2014updated 06/05/2025I recently purchased a new Subaru Forester from Subaru of Puyallup after shopping at several other dealers and looking at many other models of car. The main reason I bought here was because of the competance and the professionalism of the… salesman Jerry H. The second reason was the fact that they were willing to give me a bottom line price from the start and I would not have to haggle over price. I guess I realize I may have saved a few bucks by going somewhere else and going through a long and stressful negotiation but a few bucks would not be worth that aggravation. I feel I gat a fair deal at Harnish. The right way to buy a car

by DtDp on 12/31/2012updated 06/05/2025We had a very pleasant experience at Subaru of Puyallup. Brian F. was extremely helpful and informative, without being pushy. He greeted us as soon as we arrived and showed us several vehicles, as we had not made up our mind yet. Their… "bottomline pricing" is very nice. They price matched another dealership that had a slightly lower price on the Legacy Limited. Brian helped us get a fair trade-in on our old car and took the time to highlight and tab several areas of the owner's manual that were the most important for maintenance. We plan to have all of our servicing done at this facility.Great Experience
by stevef11 on 08/17/2013updated 06/05/2025Very happy with these folks best buying experience I have had!!Truly stress-free, and friendly to boot.
by KR_Scrutiny on 05/25/2013updated 06/05/2025Their stress-free price is right at true market value, and, just as they claim, they do not pressure you into any extras or try to raise the price on you once you're there. In the information age, when everyone can see exactly the cost… others are purchasing a car for, this is the way car sales ought to be. Furthermore, this was the only dealer that I was able to get a definitive quote from before actually going to the lot.Awesome Sales Rep and Service
by nels302 on 10/16/2012updated 06/05/2025Started car shopping at Subaru of Puyallup, liked both cars that I test drove there. The car dealer, Kevin F., was patient and understanding when we stated we needed to test drive other cars elsewhere, just to be sure on which car to settle… on. Once we settled on a Subaru, Kevin was knowledgeable and stayed late until the deal was settled financially, and even after that he stayed to explain all the features on the car we had purchased.Best service ever!

by dlh13 on 04/18/2013updated 06/05/2025Just purchased a new Outback from Dennis with Subaru of Puyallup. He made us feel very comfortable, no pressure and very knowledgeable about the product. I called him on very short notice and he got us right in. The car was detailed and… full of fuel waiting for us. Go see Dennis, he's a great guy! DLHSubaru of Puyallup = Great Customer Service!
by paul_ on 01/19/2012updated 06/05/2025My wife and I where in need of a "new" car, to keep our growing family safe. While searching the local offering in our price range, we quite literally stumbled on Subaru of Puyallup, What resulted was the best car buying experience I've… ever been through. While reviewing their inventory I decided to click on one of those "Chat with us" buttons, expecting to get someone was probably in a corporate call center somewhere. It turns out that Shelly M, my chat agent, was right there on the lot. She even offered to send me a short video walk through of the car. I thought sure what ever. Expecting to get a rehash of the "video" slide show of the photos I could already see online, I said sure. Low and behold, she sent a very personalized walk though of the car. It focused on the specific questions I asked during our chat session, the current view of Mt. Rainier happened to be stunning as well. This was the precise moment which switched us from casual window shopper, to let's get up and drive all the way across town and check this car out. Shelly M and Brian F, our salesperson, met us in the lot. With in minutes we had all the requisite details out of the way so that we could zip the car up to a shop for an inspection before they closed. Upon return Brian was very courteous, professional and NEVER car lot schmooze. Throughout the process Brian was patient and understanding. More than anything, I really appreciate the honest dialogue we had including whether or not I should also trade in my 98 Honda. In the end we all reached what I think was an amicable and fair exchange. Summary, would I feel comfortable sending my friends and family to these guys... Absofreakinlutely! Thank you everyone at Subaru of Puyallup.
