Subaru of Puyallup
Dealership Sales Review
My Wife and I were recently in the market for a new vehicle. We had our choices narrowed down between the 2017 WRX and the Ford ST. After much research and since we both owned Subarus in the past we went with the WRX. This is where things got interesting, after contacting a few dealerships close to our home in Seattle we were quite disappointed. All the places has their WRX's at well over the msrp pricing. Now we both knew that a Subaru wasn't going to be cheap and we won't be able to get a significant discounts which Fords offer, because Subaru does hold its value really well and the build quality is top notch plus many other reasons why you won't find deep discounts on new Subaru's. However the dealership we did contact with pricing questions(which my wife used in the past) did not even respond. The others had such a huge mark up that we were almost discouraged to buy a car. That's when I came across Subaru of Puyallup. I contacted their online sales team via email and Judi got back to me promptly asking us what our needs are. I had a chance to talk with her via phone regarding pricing and my experience with other dealers having such a big mark up on vehicles at which point she really took the time to explain why others might mark up the msrp. She never "bad mouthed" the competition but focused our needs and found a WRX at a price I was surprised to see. We came down from Seattle to test drive the car she found for us at which point Dima was there to test drive with us and provide us with all the information about the car. He took his time on the test drive, was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and we never felt pressured to buy or make a decision. We knew what we wanted and the car we test drove was the one. We ended up buying the WRX we test driven that day and the process was a breeze. No "up selling" of useless features and services. There were no surprises about the final cost. I would highly recommend you check these guys out, definitely compare prices so you're making a calculated decision on a major purchase but in my case I know for a fact I got a great deal on my car. We ended up getting the 2017 WRX Premium at a little below msrp with 4 actually great options installed at the factory. If your new to the Subaru brand please understand that they will cost a little more, the ST is a good car and Ford will discount a huge chunk off of the msrp to move its inventory but it's not Subaru and you do get what you pay for. Also found in my research that Subaru pricing is a little more tightly controlled by the factory itself and the dealer isn't provided with huge incentives like Ford dealerships so they are not making nearly as much money off of new car sales like Ford dealerships.
