Subaru of Puyallup
Dealership Sales Review
I originally wrote a review of this dealership on what I thought was their Facebook page. After a little digging, I realized they have a different Facebook page, one they probably created to hide the original one with all the bad reviews. Here is my review with an update: I recently purchased a new Outback from Subaru of Puyallup and it was anything but stress free! The salesman made multiple promises that he couldn't keep. After the purchase papers were signed, they inform us that the car only comes with one key (but we can buy one for a couple hundred dollars!) and that we should add on $2500 of additional options. The car was sold with a security system, but after I signed papers, they let me know that it is only on the driver door and I have to pay extra for the other doors. This was my first time buying a car and I believe they took full advantage. We were promised a loaner car while they put the tint on the car and put a security system on all four doors (which we were told would take a couple hours max), which I confirmed with customer service when I scheduled the appointment. When my fiancé showed up for the appointment, they informed him that it would take all day and there is no loaner car. They had to rent a car from Enterprise and required our debit card to rent it, even though they "promised" to pay for it. If I had known everything they told me was a lie, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Update: my car was totaled in an accident two weeks from the date of purchase. The additional warranty that we purchased did not cover anything, which is fine because my insurance took care of it, but what is most concerning is the way we were sold the additional warranty. The Business Manager, when explaining the coverage, said this policy would replace our car with a brand new car with 0 miles if the car was stolen or totaled. Great deal, right?! Wrong. What she SHOULD have said was that the car would be replaced if it was stolen and not recovered or stolen and totaled. It is this sort of deceitful language and shady business practices that give car dealerships a bad reputation and it is the main reason I will not be returning to Subaru of Puyallup to purchase a new Subaru.
