  • Thank you Sheehy!

My windshield wiper wasn't spraying the driver side very well. Ben, service advisor, and Mo, service tech, took very good care of me and the wiper is working just right now. And the car looks spiffy after its wash!

  • State Inspection

    5 out of 5 starsby Driver_86 on 11/21/2014

The State inspection was completed within the time stated - one hour. The waiting room is comfortable, the people were pleasant and they washed my car. Very nice experience.

  • Great service for my VW and Nissan

5 out of 5 starsby bkimbel on 11/16/2010

I have always received excellent service concerning PM and repairs for my Passat. The service is so great that I avoid the Nissan dealership and use VW Springfield to service my xTerra as well.

  • Worked With Me

    4.8 out of 5 starsby gavino1 on 11/05/2010

Ask for Tim. He will work with you, tell you what needs doing now, what will be an issue in the future and keeps his word about keeping calling you with the progress of the work. Years ago I went to Alexandria VW but they were a nightmare to deal with - rude and took all day to do an oil change on one occasion, spinning me along with "it will be ready soon" claims. VW Springfield are a class apart and I have used them for 6-7 years. I only had one bad experience, when a new service technician tried to get me to get me to agree to a whole reem of unnecessary repairs costing thousands of dollars. I haven't seen him since. Make sure you go to the VW Springfield website, print off the 15% voucher and get your discount when you pay your bill. Waiting area has a separate room where you can plug in your laptop while you wait.

When I moved to Va. I had to find another VW dealer that did great. I was pleasantly surprised that thsi service department exceeded my expectations. I owned a 2005 Passat, that I most of my service done by VW Springfield.. Know my wife and I own a 2007 Passat and 2008 Jetta that VW Springfield does all of our service. Ben was our primary service rep that went above and beyond to make sure our vehicles wer taken care of and that we were as well as customers. Cee was trained by Ben and he shows the exact same professionalism and expertise everytime we arrive. We have no complaints at all. If we need a ride to work or a loaner car it is done immediately. We feel as if we are preferred customers. The truth is told to us about what we need and if something is not to their satisfaction they let us know they are keeping the vehicle for further review.. Its awesome! They are a team and it shows that they take pride in what they do! Thank you VW Springfield Service Dept.

  • Great Service. Friendly personnel

4.4 out of 5 starsby lantierl on 10/30/2010

My wife and I always use VW Springfield for our VW service needs. We have a 2001 VW Jetta and a 2009 VW Tiguan. Ben, our service manager, always takes excellent care of both my needs and my wife's needs. We never have to fear that anyone will try to take advantage of us, and the advice we receive from VW Springfield is always right on the mark. We were forced to have a repair done at another (not to be named VW dealer in Richmond), and when they screwed up the repair, we were delighted to come home to our VW Springfield dealership and have Ben fix it right.

  • GREAT service

5 out of 5 starsby jkimbel on 10/28/2010

I took my car to Springfield VW in September, 2010 and had a good experience. My service rep, Matthew Buckley, took the time to go over my concerns and explained things to me in layman's terms that I could understand. He went over my problems with the mechanic, "Master Lee", and my car came back FIXED, cleaned, AND with a well need oil change! My wait time was good and Matthew kept me posted on the progress of my repairs. I will for sure take my car back to Springvield VW and Matthew again! Thank you and RUN, don't walk, to VW Springfield :)

Thank you Timothy Godinho for the great service you provided, I will refer all my friends and family that have VW to only come to your store. Patrick
  • Pleasantly surprised!

5 out of 5 starsby wdsouza on 10/28/2010

I have owned many vehicles and currently own three. On my way to work my malfunction light came on as I driving by Springfield I decided to stop in at VW to have my vehicle checked out. The facility is great but what really caught my attention was the staff and their professionalism. Tim greeted me when I stepped in to the service department. He inquired if I had an appointment and what brought me in. After the sign in process that took a couple of minutes I was guided to the waiting area, shortly after which I was called upon. I was walked to the workshop and Tim and the technician explained the cause of my engine light they also enlightened me on other concerns and recommended repairs. I have never been walked into the shop before and to witness first hand all the issues with my vehicle was great. They fixed my vehicle washed my car and provided me with a detailed estimate on other recommendations. Kudos to VW Springfield great job keep it up. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT TREATMENT AND PROFESSIONALISM.
  • Best VW Service in Northern Va

5 out of 5 starsby dcreflect on 10/11/2010

Since 2002, I have had nothing but superior service from the skilled technicians at VW Springfield on both of my VW GTIs, a 2002 and now a 2007. I go out of my way to get my cars serviced under the guidance and expertise of Ben Ong, the service and parts manager. He knows VWs and he knows service needs on all cars. He is respectful, informative and does exactly what he says he will do at a fair price. All of his service advisors are extremely knowledgable and greet me by name whenever I arrive. I recently had a problem with my wife's 2006 Land Rover tires. After shopping around other dealers and the internet, I called Ben and he gave me a price to replace, balance and mount the tires that no other dealer or internet "sellers" would match. If you need service on VWs or aany other car, I highly recommend you stop by and see Ben Ong. He is the best.

  • rip off and [violative content deleted]

    1.8 out of 5 starsby jetta04 on 05/18/2009

I bought my car with them and had it serviced for over four years, only to get very aggravated to continuously be overcharged and lied to. I actually had a very good experience purchasing my Jetta, but it seems as though I may have lucked out. Their service department at first seemed to be very friendly, although more expensive than taking it somewhere else. As my mileage increased, they always try to get you to have more things done than you really need. The last two times I have gone, they quoted me of some service and ended up charging me 50 to 100% more than the original quote. I have been hung up by them and treated as though I was an idiot, although I felt I knew more about my vehicle than they did. The first incident I went in for an oil change. It was suggested that I have some additional work done that would only cost me $90 more. Instead of paying under $200, I paid almost $350. I called afterwards to complain, as their paperwork asks for you to do if you are unsatisfied with the quality of their work or service. I was ignored. Then recently, I had my water pump replaced, in which the service sales person did not even know that the water pump broke because of the plastic fan within it that deteriorates overtime, a known issue of VW water pumps within Jettas (and I believe other models). The original quote to replace it was $950. Once I started to ask exactly what they would do (which did not include replacing the timing belt, something that needs to be replaced around 90,000 miles and my car had over 80,000, and could get done at the same time to save labor costs). I spoke to an independent mechanic who let me know everything that should be done, including the timing belt, with an estimated cost of labor and parts around $1000. The final quote from VW was $1450, $500 more than the original quote, which would have been higher if I had not told them that I would not pay a penny over that and expected all of these things to get done. Their reasoning for the 50% increase was the addition of changing the timing belt, an inexpensive part. The labor should not have been that much more considering it it is located in the same area as the water pump and would be accessible at that point. I was lied to by both the service salesman and the manager, I was hung up on, and when I went to get my car, they didn't even have the decency to apologize or look me in the eye. I will never take my care back there again. Do not get your car serviced with them at any cost.
  • Parts Dealers Rip-off

1 out of 5 starsby gwpassat on 03/05/2008

Don't trust the parts department - they give you the wrong part (doesn't fit the correct model/year) and refuse to refund it for their mistake. I call them over the phone to speak to their manager and they say that they will give you store credit over the phone and then when you walk in, they make you stand in line for 30+ minute while the parts guy flirts with a female customer. Their parts are 300% over priced from the same part online. I won't ever shop/buy from his dealer ever again.
  • BEWARE of the service department at VW Springfield!

If the service department is any indication of how this dealership is run, then I'm sure they will be out of business soon. The only there that is competent is Matt. Ben seems like he always has a chip on his shoulder. He treats his employees very badly...in front of customers! I'm taking my business to Alexandria where it seems there is a more well-rounded crew.
  • I love VW Springfield

There are many wonderful things about the service department: they are cordial, competent, and highly professional and knowledgeable. I brought my vehicle into Volkswagen last week and was very pleased with the service department's efficiency. Because I work two jobs, I need to be at work on time. I figured this was the day I was going to have to use a sick day or vacation day, but to my complete surprise, my service provider, Ben, had my car in the shop and me on the shuttle to my first job. It almost seemed as though everything was coinciding with one another, because later in the day when I thought ,"I wonder if they are finished with my car", there was the phone call I was waiting for. I was extremely happy because I did not need to us my vacation day. After I got off my first job, they were ready to pick me up and return me to Volkswagen to retrieve my vehicle. Thanks VW Springfield (service department and especially Ben). Gail
  • Nightmare at service bay

I took my 2012 Jetta to Springfield VW for its "Courtesy Vehicle Check", required within 90 days of delivery, 3000, or 6000 miles, depending on which VW-supplied document you read. The car required additional remedial attention, largely due to a shoddy Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). On delivery, the right-hand windshield wiper was striking the windshield surround when wet. The steering wheel was not straight when driving straight-ahead. The interior was soiled and trash-filled from the incompetent PDI. Parts required for a VW manufacturer's recall were not available for this scheduled shop session, and I was asked to return again in a week. The wiper was "not fixable". After an hour in the shop, and a significant delay in the wash bay, the shopworker drove the car over the curb, onto the sidewalk, inside the service bay! The right-front tire shows sidewall damage. Another hour was lost in the shop, repeating the alignment and the suddenly fixable wiper tasks. The tire was not replaced and may fail later from the curb-strike damage. All in all, this was a miserable introduction to VW Springfield, and I recommend that others avoid this shop.
