Sheehy Volkswagen of Springfield
Dealership Service Review
I took my 2012 Jetta to Springfield VW for its "Courtesy Vehicle Check", required within 90 days of delivery, 3000, or 6000 miles, depending on which VW-supplied document you read. The car required additional remedial attention, largely due to a shoddy Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). On delivery, the right-hand windshield wiper was striking the windshield surround when wet. The steering wheel was not straight when driving straight-ahead. The interior was soiled and trash-filled from the incompetent PDI. Parts required for a VW manufacturer's recall were not available for this scheduled shop session, and I was asked to return again in a week. The wiper was "not fixable". After an hour in the shop, and a significant delay in the wash bay, the shopworker drove the car over the curb, onto the sidewalk, inside the service bay! The right-front tire shows sidewall damage. Another hour was lost in the shop, repeating the alignment and the suddenly fixable wiper tasks. The tire was not replaced and may fail later from the curb-strike damage. All in all, this was a miserable introduction to VW Springfield, and I recommend that others avoid this shop.
