by TimA. on 12/13/2017My daughter moved to Houston in June of last year after having leased a new Honda Civic from a local dealer near our home in Pennsylvania. I drove with her to Houston (1500+ miles in 3 days!) to help her get settled in before starting her… new teaching job. One of the first things we did in Houston was go introduce her to the folks at Russell & Smith so that she had some personal contact for future service needs, or in case she ever needed emergency assistance. Well, that day came on December 11th, when she had a blowout on her way to work and hit a curb, destroying her tire and damaging the rim. While she was able to get some help putting the spare tire on, she knew that the spare could only be used for a very limited time and was not recommended for highway speeds, so that meant getting the tire and wheel replaced right away. I called R&S Service to see what they could do and was connected to Matt Lawrence. Matt immediately understood the urgency of the situation and empathized with a concerned father 1500 miles away that needed to get his daughter's car back to a safe condition. Matt arranged for the repairs to be done that very evening and personally coordinated the whole process from the minute my daughter drove in until all the repairs (and even an oil change) were completed. He kept me informed all along the way and made sure everything was in proper order before she drove away. I cannot say enough about Matt's commitment to making sure my daughter's car (and my peace of mind) were fully restored before he left that night. His personal attention and genuine concern was sincere and so rarely seen these days that I had to make sure he was recognized for his exceptional effort. I made a point to contact the Manager of the Service Department to share this story and state my appreciation for all Matt did to help my daughter. Matt is the kind of employee any company would be fortunate to have, but I'm glad he is at R&S should we ever need him again!Great service!

This is by far the best customer service that I have received at any car dealership hands down. Not only was he knowledgeable about the vehicles… but he was also able to work out a great deal for me. by Texans4Life on 12/01/2017First of all, in shopping for a new car, I searched all the Houston-area honda dealerships I could find on Google. I decided to go to a dealership that was closest to me so that I could test drive the car and take a look at it (FYI- this… was NOT Russel & Smith Honda). This one dealership I went to reminded me of WHY I hate car shopping. It is late in evening after I got home from work....I walk up to the dealership which looks super old and run down, and I see 5 guys waiting in the foyer, and they are all looking at me with this look that makes me feel like, "HERE we gooooo...let's get this over with." The salesman that I talked to was nice.......but when all was said and done, I realize now in hindsight that they kept nickel-and--diming me. They would use tactics on me and hold back on reasonable requests (like, can we add weatherproof floor mats? Their answer..."NO" ) ****THIS IS THE MUST READ PART**** Russel & Smith called me. The sales manager, NICK, iS INCREDIBLY GREAT! The difference with Nick and Russel & Smith is that he TRULY made me feel like I was getting a good deal...because he made offers that truly COULD NOT BE BEAT by anyone. He didn't pressure me, make me feel bad, use other tactics like the other salesmen I've met, or "hold back" on the deals. He just put it ALL out on the table...and NO ONE out there could beat it. When I decided to go to Russel and Smith to buy the car, the initial dealership I mentioned called me multiple times...saying that fine, just come to their dealership and they will give me the deal...they won't beat it, but they'll match whatever Nick at Russel & Smith offered. Nick didn't play that way...he would always give me the BEST incentive, quickly and low-stress, and make it EASY for me to decide where to get the car. When I made it to the Russel & Smith Honda dealership, Nick introduced me to a sales consultant named Zee Usmani. He was EXCELLENT! No other dealerships took me through such a low stress, well presented informational session of the car I was interested in. He let me test drive it and was very knowledgeable of the car's features. When I decided to seal the deal and buy the car, he was there everystep of the way, even installing the FREE weatherproof floor mats and (eventually later) the license plates and making sure everything was just right. He even gave me additional pointers, set up my blue tooth connection to the car, and made sure to answer all questions I had. Thank you Zee! Also, I wanted to mention, the Russel and Smith facility is SUPER nice. Very spacious, very clean! It felt good going there to get a new car. It wasn't like the other dealerships where I'm driving on broken roads and walking into a worn down building. I will definitely make sure to bring my family members here right off the bat for next vehicle purchases. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.Bought a car in less than two hours!
by DougKfromTexas on 11/22/2017Bought a 2017 Honda Pilot Elite at R&S Honda yesterday. Less than two hours to shop for my car, test drive, do the deal, and financing/paper signing. Installed running boards last night at the dealer, and my salesman delivered the vehicle… this morning, trained us on all the features (never had this experience before) and drove away the trade in. Highly recommend this dealer and this is my third Pilot since 2004. Henry Reece was the salesman and delivered/demonstrated the car.Great experience - no pressure

I stopped by last week for a test drive only, and Matt happily assisted me, showing me all the features of the car (knowing I… was not ready to buy yet). No follow-up pressure, no hard sales after I left. I returned on Tuesday, sat down with Matt and quickly negotiated a price that was acceptable to both. Matt walked me through the entire process and was great. If you're shopping for a new Honda, go see Matt - he'll take care of you.Excellent buying experience

We came in to see a CPO Pilot but from the moment we met he put my wife and myself at ease with his honesty and his… kindness. He broke down everything for us and told is that he could get us a new 2017 Pilot for a similar price, and he did. He went back and forth with us and the manager to get us the best deal on a new 2017 Honda Pilot, never giving up and he was very patient with us the entire time. by KristaSeto on 10/21/2017My experience at Russell & Smith Honda was ultimately what lead to my purchase of my 2017 Honda Civic LX E. To start $27,000 is a lot of money to spend and something I do not take lightly. Coming in to the dealership, I had anticipated to… solely gain some knowledge about their cars and packages and that was all. Upon my arrival i was greeted by Matt Gul, a very kind and patient man. He immediately made me feel welcomed and VALUED by asking what i wanted rather than trying to push something down my throat. This is what first impressed me. He took the time to analyze the fact that i previously drove a Jeep Wrangler, he asked if i enjoyed the height of the car, my likes and dislikes. He went as far to ask if i had a budget and respected what i anticipated spending and showed me cars that honored what i was looking for. During the test driving experience, Matt allowed me to drive as long and as far as i liked. He pointed out features and technologies and went above and beyond what i was looking for while maintaining by budget. Mind you, I came into this dealership with no intention to buy, someone fully in love with my 4x4, someone who was weighting the option of trading in my first car (and arguably my first love) for a car that would "make sense." With this in mind, and stated to Matt, and also as a woman in my early twenties, many other salesmen had written me off as someone who wasn't going to purchase. Matt spent hours with me answering every question. Not once did i feel rushed. Not once did i feel pressured. When i finally found the car with the level of luxury i had lacked in my Wrangler but the same safe and sporty feel, Matt helped me pin point what i wanted aesthetically. And when it came time to finance, the finance department truly listened to my concerns and helped me not push past an APR i was uncomfortable with. They answered my questions regarding payments, insurances and warranties. Their level of transparency and integrity is why i purchased this car. Their attention to detail is why they will have a customer for life. Throughout this process, to an extent i was mourning the loss of my baby. My beautiful black Jeep. Matt understood my attachment to this car and at the time of the purchase, he placed both cars side by side so i could transfer my life essentially in one car to the other. After switching all of my belongings, he smiled and said, "Krista i have one last surprise for you." When i came to the back of my new Honda, i saw that he had taken the sparkled- rhinestone license plate holder my mom had originally put on my Jeep back in 2012 when i was just in high school and placed it on the Honda. "So you can keep a little piece with you," he said. I was instantly moved because this purchase wasn't just a trade in, it wasn't just a transaction. Matt understood that. Matt understood that this purchase was symbolic to me. It is this level of care that allowed me to let go of my beloved Jeep and move forward with a vehicle that will take care of me for the next 5+ years. Matt, THANK YOU! Dino, THANK YOU! And they helped eased my anxiety because it was my first time purchase… on my own. I really appreciate your advice and help into purchasing my first vehicle on my own. You guys rock! Mr Karan Patel was the financial specialist that helped me and he helped me so much to get a low interest as a first time buyer. He made me cry of how excited, happy, and blessed I was feeling with the credit union he was able to get me with. by maciosaig on 09/12/2017After I submitted a request for a quote through Edmunds I was sent two e-mails from Nikki. When I called I asked for her and a David Nelson said she wasn't their but he would handle my request. I asked for a quote and was given a quote a… little over 2k over MSRP again due to forced dealer installed accessories which he said was installed on every car they ordered and I had no choice. He then proceeded to tell me every other Honda dealer in the area lost their inventory in the flood and they shouldn't be trusted and that the vehicle I was looking for wasn't made anymore, I found three and told him that, and they couldn't be found anymore. Houston has a serious problem with car dealers if they are forcing their customers to buy accessories....these tactics ended about 20 years ago in most other places but this dealership epitomizes a low life [non-permissible content removed].Russell & Smith Honda Sales

I am fully aware what my car has because Maria explained… everything in detail for me. I know what my car has and all the cool features it includes. The CRV has plenty of cargo space, I can program my garage to open, I can link my favorite music to my car, and many more. Thank you for such a great experience.Don't Waste This Dealership's Time

I was interested in purchasing it, so we went inside and I spent about 45 minutes filling out paperwork and providing the information and documents that they needed. I then wait around for… 2 or so hours until they finally get to the point of sending everything over to the finance department. After coming back and providing some numbers that I wasn't happy with, I asked to speak with the used car manager. At this point, it was after 9pm, which is when they close, and I was speaking with the used car sales manager and discussing my options. As I'm looking over the paper they gave me with pricing, used car value, etc. the manager looks at his watch and says "It's late. We all have families to go home to. If you're not okay with these numbers, then we're not going to make a deal and you're just wasting everyone's time." I didn't know how to respond to this. I've never been told that I'm "wasting everyone's time" by taking a moment to consider whether or not I want to spend $25,000+ of my hard earned money. So I just gathered my things and left, but not before the manager added "If you change your mind, call us tomorrow"... So, If you're reading this and considering whether or not to go to Russell & Smith Honda, I say go for it... if you're willing to just accept whatever offer/numbers they put in front of you. But if you're like me and prefer to take a few minutes to think before signing away thousands of your dollars, just know that you'll be a terrible inconvenience to the busy staff there.Incompetent [non-permissible content removed]
by sunbyrne on 08/04/2017This was literally the worst new-car buying experience I have ever had. This dealership is incompetent and dishonest. When we went to pick up our car, we found a minor cosmetic defect. They switched out the car, but they didn't switch the… VIN on the paperwork., so we had to come back in to re-do the paperwork. We were assured that the only difference in the paperwork was the new VIN. Well, they lied. When they re-did it, it was with a higher price: $4000 higher. We didn't notice this in the ream of paper because why would this have changed? Then, the first payment bill came with a much larger amount. Because we were about to go out of town, we just paid the higher amount, and then dealt with it when we came back. Obviously we were more than a little unhappy. We went to the dealership and the manager promised us he would make it right, but he couldn't fix it right then. So we had to leave, and come back another time, but he assured us that he would be able to get it back to the original payment. Well, they didn't "make it right." They credited us the amount back as principal on the loan, but it didn't change our payment amount to the original payment. Yes, we'll pay off the loan faster, but we are not paying the amount we originally signed for. So, they screwed things up multiple time (incompetent) and then lied about their ability to fix it (dishonest). Will never buy another vehicle from this dealer again, and would advise anyone to avoid them like the plague.Russell & Smith's "Loyalty Program"

He talked to me about leveraging the equity in my car and as a result, I drove away that day… with a brand-new Honda Civic, with all-new features and warranties, and two full percentage points off financing! Not the way I thought the day would go, but I ended up saving money! Thanks, Michael!Do not trust this dealership!
by Katie on 08/01/2017After making a trip to their lot, and then making several calls and negotiations over the phone on a car we came to AND agreed on a price. The words - "You have a deal" were spoken. Now in my mind, when you agree on a price and they tell… you that you have a deal, that means you have a deal. Apparently, in their eyes it is quite different. We were told the deal would be good through the end of the night, which was fine with us, we were about to get in the car to drive over there. 10 minutes later we get a call back stating that they were not aware that they had been talking with someone else about the same vehicle and now it was going to be a first come first serve basis. Not only that, the other people only live 15 min away so good luck. We lived 45 min away, and they knew that because we had been there 2 days before looking at multiple cars on the lot. In my eyes, that is not the proper way to do business. If you work on a first come first serve basis that needs to be presented UP FRONT! Never once during our several calls that we made back and forth was that ever mentioned, nor did they monition that someone else was interested in this same vehicle. It was only mentioned after we had agreed on a price and a deal was made and we were on our way with a check in hand.NEVER AGAIN
by Sofia on 07/29/2017I took my car for diagnostic service at 07:30 am on a Saturday. It was 2 1/2 hrs later when I asked the representative,Thomas, for any update. At 10:30 am, I finally received an update that my car's front wheel bearings needs to be… replaced. 3 hours for diagnosis only. I agreed to get it fixed with the alignment included. Thomas said that it will be done by 2 pm. I called at 3 pm and my car is still not done. He said that it'll be done by 4 pm. 4:30 pm passed and I still did not get a phone call about my car. I showed up in the service center and complained that my car has been in since 7:30 am. It's 8 hrs later and I still have not received a phone call. I did not received any apologies for the delay from any service team member not even from the service manager. I bought my car here in 2013. I've been a loyal customer for any of my car service since then. I've always had a problem with them not completing the service in the promised time. I always give them chances every time I bring my car for service. They've always failed me. There is no sense of urgency for any service whether for oil change or bearing change. Oil change takes 3-4 hours. I've never received any apologies for any delay. Customer service satisfaction is and has never been their priority. Today was the last and final time that I will step foot in that facility for any kind of my service for my car. They just lost a loyal customer.Bad experience in wanting to purchase a car
by Peter on 07/15/2017Went into this dealership today with my mom in looking to purchase a car but had a bad experience with the sales consultant, Ari Imanraharja. He talked to my mother in a condescending manner as she was asking questions. I had test drove the… car I wanted the day before and knew what I wanted. The way he was talking to my mother and I was really rude and the level of cockiness is what led us to leave after checking out some other cars. To prove his level of, "salesmanship", he told us that he had buyers from Austin driving down to buy specifically from him and he can sell any car easily. I don't doubt his ability to do that but don't treat your customers like trash if they are looking to buy. This is totally disrespectful and not how a serious buying customer should be treated. The way he treated us as customers left a bad taste in my mouth.Great experience
