Grieco Beware
by Grieco Beware on 09/20/2020I have purchased many cars over the years AND this experience was the WORST - I will be speaking with HONDA DIRECTLY because they don’t deserve to have the Honda banner. Where does one start : First : I knew exactly what I wanted, right… down to the trim level and I had already shopped another local Honda dealer. Once the salesperson knew I had shopped HE REFUSED TO OFFER THEIR PRICING, instead he asked for the the other dealers pricing, such a low way of doing business, I say do your own work, not try to get the other dealers numbers, then I’ll compare and decide. Grieco didn’t want that, instead they wanted numbers, I finally gave in because I didn’t want to spend all day. Should’ve left their once I knew they were lazy and just wanted to feed off someone else’s hard work, I didn’t though. Next they didn’t want to honor their own trade in offer that was on their OWN WEBSITE - instead the manager said that ended on the 9/7, I was like well here it is on your website. So after crying they gave the trade number that was in their own ad. What happened now is FRAUD - They pulled my CREDIT WITH only a signature, dob and date, I NEVER FILLED OUT A CREDIT APPLICATION, WORSE YET, They now had my credit score and info AND NEVER HAD ME SIGN A PRIVACY NOTICE IN REGARDS TO MY INFORMATION. I mention the above because now they know my score is 787 and they bring out payment numbers, keep in mind they have my credit score so I’m qualified for top tier credit which is 1.9% and I was going to be financing 34,800 roughly. HERE’S ANOTHER FRAUDULENT ACT TO BEWARE OF - They have the salesperson bring me the payment of $700 a month for 60 months which. He says does that work for you - NO ! When one is borrowing the above amount at 1.9% the payment is around $610 monthly. ( every thousand borrowed at 1.9% equals roughly $17 a month for 60 months.)This dealership tried to slip one by BUT THEY DID IT TO THE WRONG PERSON. SOOOOO DISHONEST . I Walked out. Grieco embodies DISHONESTY!!!!! Tried to give a 8% interest rate with out showing the rate and just showing a payment to see if I would agree. THIS IS A SALES TACTIC that YOU AS A BUYER NEED TO BE AWARE OF!!! Friends - NEVER TELL CAR SALES WHAT YOU WANT FOR A PAYMENT - THIS IS A TRAP. You will get that payment or higher EVEN IF YOU QUALIFY FOR BETTER. STAY AWAY FROM GRIECO!Unmotivated Sales Staff
by GailB on 08/24/2018updated 08/31/2018The internet group called me often to come in. The first salesman had a migraine when we started. After 10 or 15 minutes, a different salesman showed up. He told me that Honda does not make manual transmissions any longer and that manual… transmissions get worse gas mileage. I shook his hand and walked out.Terrible follow through
by Arthur8 on 07/12/2018updated 07/23/2018Once they sell you a car you are doomed if you have a problem or a question as no one will call you back because no one cares. The place is an organizational mess starting at the top with the general manager all the way through all the… sales associates and the front reception people. Be smart and go to another dealership where you will get just as good a price but be treated like a customer who they respect and want to have a good experienceDeceptive Practices
by Bill on 06/04/2018Dealership tried to charge me $400 addional ro register out of state. Stated they would not make any additional fees from this. They also tried to tell me, could only receive the on line price if I agreed to their financing terms. Which… were increased over bank rate.very dissatisfied customer
by angry_pop on 11/23/2017It started very nicely, the sales agent was very accommodating and respectful. After we bought the car, problems arose. Registration problem, lease hold from the previous bank, etc. No update from the dealership, no return calls when… voicemail left. The only time we got an update was when we go to the dealership. A lot of excuses. Promises broken. The temporary plate is now 3 weeks expired and still no light that we can see. Would like to return the vehicle if I can in a heartbeat.Terrible Customer Service
by Stacy.G on 10/10/2017We have had nothing but problems working with this car dealership the second time around. The first time leasing a car from Metro Honda was nothing but a pleasure for my husband and I. When our lease ran out and it was time to either… purchase the current car or lease a new car, all of the trouble began. We were stuck at the dealership for more than 8 hours while the salesmen attempted to negotiate a deal that was outrageous. Several times, we requested our keys in order to leave and they refused. We were finally able to come to an agreement and went on our only to find out there was an issue in registering the new car. We have been dealing with this since February and have had little to no communication with the salesmen or manager when requested. The only person that attempted to help was a woman in the service department named Kim. My husband and I traveled to the dealership on several different occasions to get this resolved and were told a multitude of reasons why they could not help us. I requested to speak with a manager and have not had my phone calls answered or voicemail messages returned. If you are trying to contact Grieco Honda by phone they will not answer or return your call however, if you walk into the dealership 40 salesmen great you. My issue is still not resolved and I doubt we will get the service we deserve. I am disgusted with the entire experience.TERRIBLE INTERNET CUSTOMER SERVICE
by success16 on 09/16/2016No stars would be my rating - I emailed the Internet Manager, for a written quote on a pre-owned car on their lot. I asked for an out-the-door-quote. A person named Lainie emailed me back with a very cheery note - with ALL kinds of info -… but nothing I requested - just a bunch of stuff about coming into drive the car, sales and service, and and vague mentions of numbers ( because I also asked the quote to have the documentation and destination fees, itemized). Awful. I responded exactly as advised - " I have already driven the make and model you have, - I don't have time to stop in right now, but would appreciate a Carfax on the vehicle and a walk- out-the-door price" - they never responded back! And Im a serious ready to buy person! The other dealer sent me the info within an hour, and respected my wish to communicate by email - Grieco is just a hi-pressure place who cares nothing about good paying customers and serious car-buying leads.Edmund, please take a look to them before u recommend them.
by blasr33 on 08/15/2015As anyone else can see here, Edmund, its ok to post them here. So come to Edmund to look for the Honda Pilot Elite. Metro Honda saying the have it in Stuck. right! well here is just couple email I had with Sarah, and some from… Lisa, and phone called after phone called. I got there, and they never had it, so they made me drive over 4 hours to tell me they will make it up to me, giving me the first one they get if i put a deposit. How dishonest the dealer is, how low they go to get people there, why made me drive when I ask even over the phone I do NOT want to drive there, if they do not have it.. Edmund take them down, please. Sarah, Will do that. I hope the Honda elite no sale from the time I get there If it does please call me to cancel and I don't drive all the way and be disappointed. Also I may be there early then 1. Leaving Hartford,CT maybe before 11 AM. Thanks so much! by indiatango89 on 09/21/2014This dealer is appalling. I had a higher value trade-in and was looking to get into a Honda that was less expensive to operate so I could save some money. Did my homework and knew what the new car and my trade-in were worth. Salesman… (Alfred F.) and mainly the sales manager (Richard C.) manipulated me into thinking my trade-in was worth less than it actually was by saying it would be sold off at auction to a dealer who could sell it and they could only offer me what the other dealers would purchase the car for. 'We don't get those kinds of customers here. The ones who are looking for a car like yours.' I was saving myself money either way by trading in the car so I took their word for it and agreed to the transaction. Their pitch turned out to be an utter lie. A week or so later, there's my trade-in for sale on their website at a huge markup. The sales manager is a lying, swindling, and manipulative [non-permissible content removed] who clearly gets a sick satisfaction out of ripping off young, hardworking people, like myself, trying to better their financial situation. I doubt this is the first time and will not be the last time they will do this to someone. This place should be avoided at all costs! Go somewhere else if you want a Honda!Worst Experience
by saravanan1 on 07/28/2014Had a worst experience with this Dealer. They pull you into their showroom by quoting attractive prices, but nothing is real. Sales people are not friendly and they try to push you to the vehicle which was not sold for long time. Beware of… this place and try to avoid, if at all possible.Lied about inventory availbility
by Loingsigh on 07/19/2014I sent a query about a car I had been watching on the website as it was no longer available on dealer site. Alexis called me, I asked her about the car specifically Year, Make Model, Trim and Cylinders and she said she had it, I quoted the… stock # and she said she had it on the lot - I asked her why it not not listed on the website as it had been there up to 48 hours prior and she told me about computer issues. She for sure did not sound credible so I persisted with my line of questioning and I asked her to tell me about the mileage on the car - she said "It has low 20" - I had her in a lie as the mileage in fact was mid 15K's. If I had not persisted with the Alexis I would have wasted over 2 hours of my time driving to this dealership and back - do not try to bait me with a lie, you lost me as a customer. This is not what I need or want. You need to treat me with respect to get over $20K from me - I will not give you my business. No integrity - Goodbye Metro!!High Pressure Sales
by krun0809 on 07/11/2010I had a bad experience at this dealer yesterday. They didn't have the car i wanted and tried to sell me something else. I can't blame them for that, but they told me i could get a great deal. In the end they tried to screw me with a… rediculous interest rate. They might have some side deal with the local credit union to refer business to each other. When i tried to leave, they played the "we can't find your keys" game. While supposedly looking for my keys, they continued to try to get me to buy a car even though i said i was not interested and just wanted to leave. I ended up going over to talk to the sales manager and found my keys right in front of him on the desk. He insisted that he didn't know they were mine and got angry at me. I don't believe him. I will never go to this dealership again.Worst post-sale communication!
by rafka on 06/24/2010Worst experience in car purchase. I purchased a car from them that was a good deal. However, the engine oil was due to change in one month and they haven't changed it before it was sold. They got me a good interest rate but they included a… warranty without my request. When I tried to ask about the warranty, they intimidated me that they got me a good monthly payment and that the warranty is part of the deal. They said that I got this rate because I took the warranty and that if I cancel my warranty, the financing rate may go up. All these are lies. Also, when I have decided to cancel the warranty, they gave me really hard time. I was never able to get to the financial manager. After 2 weeks of leaving message without anyone getting back to me, I went there to speak with the financial manager and the latter refused to see me. He didn't even bother to say hi. I also felt threatened by a salesperson and he said: "you can't go in". I told him why he doesn't speak to me. Just answer the phone. I had to go back. Then I spoke with the warranty directly and they said the dealer never submitted my warranty. Finally, 3 weeks ago, I wrote a notarized letter (as requested) stating that I want to cancel my warranty. Until now, I haven't got any answer or refund. Even today, I tried to call again the financial manager or the sales person but again no one picked up the phone. NEVER trust these people with your money. They will treat you like [violative content deleted].Be carerule--multiple times they misrepresented themselves
by twenty on 01/03/2010II was more than likely selling to a private party. He encouraged me to bring in my trade for an appraisal since he had "an appraiser from New Jersey who buys exclusively from Metro and would be at Metro tues-thru from 8-7. He also said… that they had 6 CRV EX L on property. I went there on Tue night Stan asked me to remind him why I was there and I told him that we spoke last night about CRV EXL. He stated "oh that's right--good thing you came in today we have one left". Obviously this raised Red Flag # 1. Down from 6 the night before? He quickly passed me to salesman Brian. Brian started the whole salesman pitch. I tried multiple times to tell Brian why I was there. It as clear that he had no clue that they already gave me a price proposal. He wanted me to test drive and I told them if the appraisal occurred at the same time I would. We did the test drive and my car never moved. Brian came back and asked if he could run my credit. I told him no I had the report and if selected they could. "Don't worry it wont hurt your credit" Red Flag#2. I asked for the appraisal. He left and came back with the dreaded computer problem Red Flag #3. He said he would get back to me tomorrow. There was no appraiser and the hours cited were clearly Stan's the salesman hours Red Flag #4. Manager Paul was no better" I am trying to make it easy for you. I told him that would be the case if any one of the three people including him listened to the customer. Maybe they had a bad day but the impression they left on me is that I wouldn't not trust this dealership in the future. I bought a 2010 EXL the following day at a dealer that listen to its customers and were honest.Metro Honda Buying Experience
by stickyx2 on 03/27/2008I've purchased some cars in my life and this purchasing experience is by far the absolute best experience yet. Albeit, this review and referral as I usually do not refer people to dealerships. All my research and negotiation's were done… on-line through Metro's on-line sales department and this experience was pain free. I stuck to my guns and price point and it paid off. We got a terrific deal - I believe the best one we could get. Upon entering Metro, I immediately noticed a warm and inviting environment, much different from other dealerships I had visited (5 total); all personnel looked upbeat and greeted us cheerfully. I also noticed that in a time of economic turbulence, Metro Motor Group was selling cars. And quite honestly, it's was not a surprise. My experience here has been a positive one and I would recommend Metro to all Honda buyers in RI/MA. My hope and expectation is that their Service Department serves the same glowing service.you must work there!
no just work there, but a dishonest as all there.
sales pressure
by ctaft5 on 05/14/2014updated 06/01/2025The pressure from the sales manager to make a decision to buy on the spot was relentless so I walked out. It made me appreciate the experience I had at Tasca even more so I decided to cancel my test drive at Herb Chambers Honda so I stuck… with Ford.Horrible purchase experience
by maryke35 on 10/30/2013updated 06/01/2025I was in the market for a Honda Pilot and I was paying cash. I did my research and called every dealership within 50 miles of my home. On the phone, Metro agreed to a purchase price but when I arrived, they tried to wheel an deal and… attempted, extensively, to sell me a bill a goods. In the end, I got the vehicle for what I agreed to over the phone, but spent way too much time and hemming and hawing to obtain it. They are [non-permissible content removed], plain and simple. Service is seriously overpriced. I personally would rather pay more and go elsewhere. Too much hassle dealing with these less than honorable folks.Don't waste your time...
by Rktht on 08/22/2013updated 06/01/2025I went there to look at a 2012 SUV. They wanted more for the 2012 than they did for a similar (Same Make and model) 2013. I couldn't get the salesman to move a penny from the online price. He actually tried to charge me more than the online… price. The owner says "He'll save you Thousands" DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!!Worst Customer Service Ever
by buyer83 on 05/13/2014updated 06/01/2025Unless you are okay with running behind people to get things don like title, registration etc this is the last place I would suggest you go. If you have checked online and decided on something before you go the dealer the first thing they… tell you is that the actual price is 2500$ more than that is shown on the website. And that the price listed on the website is a way of bringing more people to come to the dealership. Once you have committed to buying a car with them and processing is done. There ends all customer service. You call and call and call and never reach anyone. There is zero escalation procedure as the sales manager and the registration desk keep referring you back to the sales person who is very adept in ignoring calls. All this doesnt stop them from calling and asking for feedback after the visit. The results of which I dont know what they use for. Even though I am fine with the car I brought, the experience has been worst ever. I am still waiting for the registration of my car to be completed (2 weeks and counting). I am at a standstill as there is no one I can call to or will answer the status. I am not someone who writes reviews very often. At the time I checked reviews, they had mostly good reviews which was one reason that compelled me to check them out in the first place.UGH!!!! Never again!
by brianbenoit on 03/30/2011updated 06/01/2025I was very disappointed with the service at Metro Honda. I leased a vehicle from them with a deposit down to cover tax, title, and registration. Three and a half weeks later, my car isn't registered and my temporary plates have expired.… When I called to inform them of this fact, they told me there was a problem with getting the car registered and needed more info from me. This was the first I had heard of this, they never contacted me to get the proper info, and in fact I had called them the week before to see if the registration had been done. They told me not yet, but we will give you a call when it is. When I brought the expired plates to their attention, I asked if there was something that they could do so that I could drive the vehicle for the weekend, since the registry was already closed. I asked if I could have a new temp plate, they told me this was illegal. Ok, well can I use a dealer plate and return it when I get my proper plates. They told me they don't give out dealer plates to customers. I asked if I could borrow a loaner vehicle, they said they don't have any. I asked if they would cover a rental car for the weekend. Again I was told they wouldn't do that. And when I asked well then what I am supposed to do for the weekend, they told me to drive the car and be careful. WOW!!! They actually told me to break the law. They also said that they would register the vehicle on Monday, it never happened. I received the automatic dealer survey from Honda on monday. I gave them an average of 2 out of 5 stars, for the service I received. And I informed them of this when I found out that they still hadn't registered the car. After that they were incredibly rude, told me that I had ruined their bonuses, and told me they would "TRY" to get the car registered on Tuesday. Needless to say, I am reporting them to the BBB and I also called the state police to report that they told me to drive around on expired plates.Metro would not honor the price quoted.
by rb_real on 04/30/2011updated 06/01/2025Called Metro to see if they would honor the price I was quoted in February. The internet sales person, found my file, and said they would honor the price they gave me for a 2011 Honda Civic, and would I like to make an appointment. I told… her I would be there within the hour, and intended on purchasing the car that day. I went over the price and color with her on the phone, and expected to purchase the car when I arrived. She wasn't available when I arrived, and the sales manager told me they would not honor the price, because their inventory was low and they could sell the car for more. I didn't like the way they did business, and bought the car elsewhere.
