  • Took care of the car

5 out of 5 starsby Ed Hartman on 02/11/2025

The dealership honored are agreement for performing the service that I had requested quite satisfactorily. The service was completed in a timely manner and a multipoint inspection was also provided identifying needed and/or recommended services to be done. There was no high pressure to have these services done at that time.

  • Less than ideal experience

    2 out of 5 starsby 112358 on 01/29/2025

Arrived when they opened at 7am and the Service Manager didn't seem to know why I was bringing the vehicle in, even though it was all mentioned when scheduling the appointment, so I had to go through all the work needing to be done with them again. I was told that I would get my car back in a different time frame if I was waiting there for it versus leaving and picking it up when it was done, this was an 8 hour difference in time frame (9am vs 5pm). So I was forced to sit there for 2 hours, unable to get anything else done and wasting my time as I sat there so that I didn't have to wait until 5pm to get my car back. The free coffee in the waiting room being Folgers was also laughable. The Service Manager came by twice saying I'd be getting my car back in a few minutes, it actually took more than 20 minutes before I was in my car. The price of an oil change here along with other services seem to be higher than necessary. I've heard of other people with performance luxury cars that require as much oil as my car that pay less for their oil changes and get better quality oil in their cars. When getting the car back it stunk like rotten meat and needed to roll the windows down while driving in 35° weather to air it out. Also noticed as part of the multi point inspection that the tires which were low on air, were not filled to the correct pressure. Washing the car would have been nice as well since the car obviously needed it, but not the end of the world. All in all, it seems like this dealership doesn't really care about the customer's time, their car, or their experience to make them want to come back.

  • Forgot to Plug In Alternator, Lied About Battery

At a scheduled oil change, I was told the water pump needed to be replaced. I left the car to have the work done, and got it back that evening. The next day my car died on a busy street. They had forgotten to plug the alternator back in. They had me call their tow service, and I had the car back later that day. I asked if my battery was okay after being drained, and they assured me it was fine. Three days later I had my battery checked, and found it needed to be replaced. We will never return to this dealer.

  • Parts

When I called to schedule warranty service, I was told parts would have to be ordered. I took the car in a week later, during check in the clerk said parts would have to be ordered. Since I was told this the previous week, I assumed the parts would be at the dealership. I waited for an hour, the service tech came out and said parts would have to be ordered (the third time I had been told this). I called back several weeks later and was told the parts were in and I would need to schedule service. I scheduled service for later in the week. The next day Kings Toyota called to let me know the parts were in. It would have been helpful if Kings Toyota had informed at the time I purchased the car the lead time for Avalon parts at this dealership was over 2 weeks.

Child area not a friendly place. Issue with tire- didn't find anything- took it back after it blew out- said I curbed the tire- took it somewhere else and found it had a nail in it. They are on a time limit and you can tell it- the 1st time we went we felt like we were herded like cattle in and out. Cost of things are high there but it is a dealer.

  • Sold new car that had paint damage

My husband and I actually purchased 2 brand new Rav 4s on the same day, I was sold a 2013 Rav4 which had paint discoloration to the roof. No one was sure where the discoloration was coming from. Dave the service manager was supposed to call us to set up an appointment to bring the car back, he never called. We took the car back and was told they would repaint the roof at the Body Shop which is a separate company from Toyota. When I was called to come get my car it had scratches all the way around the top of the car, I refused to take the car from the lot and was told by Dave the manager that they would fix the car. I was called back by Dave to pick up the car, when my husband and I arrived there were dings in the front bumper and also the panel on the driver side door, which they had tried to paint over. Dave actually told me that the spot on the door was there when I brought the car in! I had the car in my posession for only a week and a half before this all happened and it only had 250 miles on it. At this point we made contact with the customer relations manager, Heather and Mr. C, the owner to voice our problems. We also asked about compensation for our time and frustration. Mr C only offered to put a remote starter on the car and make 1 monthly payment. They were to take care of these new 2 issues. On the 3rd attempt to pick the car up the district service rep actually showed up, after explaining to him the whole situation he encouraged us to file with the Ohio Lemon Law and showed us where the paperwork was. Finally after all of this trouble they offered to replace the car, but at a higher interest rate. My original loan was at 0%. I will never buy a new car again from this dealership. The management at this dealership were not willing to make this situation right until we threatened to contact a lawyer. Dave the service manager was very rude and at one point called me a liar and never apologized to me.
  • Wiped out

Review: This is a backward compliment to Kings Toyota's service department, meaning I'm starting with a gripe. (So keep reading.) My 2012 Prius V is overdue for new wiper blades. I called and was assured that if I stop in, they could be replaced in no time. Later that morning – after calling again to make sure – I pulled into the service bay where the friendly attendant told to go to the parts department to buy the replacements, and then he'd have them installed pronto. No problem . . . except . . . The parts department didn't have the blades and they'd need to be ordered. I found it a little hard to believe one the largest Toyota dealers around doesn't stock wiper blades for a Prius when I could drive 4 minutes and get them at the local Pep Boys. I left without the blades, kind of irritated. My point? It'd be nice if the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. I wasted gas and time driving 10 miles to the dealer as a result. HAVING said that, in every other respect Kings Toyota has been exemplary. Best dealer/service combination I've ever dealt with over more than 40 years of driving. Why write this? Because I was invited to by Kings Toyota, which has – coincidentally and ironically – offered me a coupon for windshield wiper replacements to submit a review!
