Shady financing tactics
by Kevin on 08/03/2024They add extras you didn't ask for in their financing papers and try to secretly make you sign for it. And then even succeed in putting one through and have to fight with them for a refund .Worst Sales experience
by Pravin on 05/25/2023I was inquiring for used car and conversation moved to the new car by Sales rep. He said the price of car inflated, so when I said the same car is selling for lower price in PA where I live and he started make fun saying PA has carton of… eggs for $2 etc.. Very very unprofessional experience from a car dealership in my experience. Sales rep name was Matt D and I would never recommend this Sales person.Dealer Doesn't Honor Deposits - Sold Car to Someone Else
by Buy Elsewhere on 12/24/2022I put a $1,000 deposit down on an incoming Hyundai Palisade in September 2023 at MSRP. When the car arrived 6 weeks later, Atlantic Hyundai sold it to another customer, presumably for a better price. The only person I could ever get on the… phone after I made my deposit was the receptionist who never connected me to a live person; only took a message which was rarely, if ever, returned. It took 6 weeks to get my deposit refunded, and then only after I got my credit card company involved. (I had to get special permission from “the manager” to have the deposit be refundable in the first place, which I had them write on the purchase agreement – good thing!) All-in-all, a miserable purchase experience.Deceptive pricing - up sales you in person
by jw on 11/26/2022Watch the fine print on the websites, including their own. All of their pricing is not the selling price of the car. They are going to pad it with $2700 additional costs and financing.New Lease
by Leopold123 on 02/19/2019Vic was very helpful and friendly. Told him exactly what my needs were and he was able to work out a great car for me. Albert was great and very helpful with getting the paperwork taken care of efficiently.Vic is the BEST!
by Leann11 on 01/26/2019My sister and brother in law leased 5 cars from Visc over the years and now I understand why. Vic was super sweet and professional the entire time he was helping me get everything in order and made the process go smoothly.Purchased 2015 Sonata
by Bluejay94 on 06/02/2018Helpful staff. Great experience.Bad experience overall, but 2 stars b/c of working over phone + good price
by DJVandNDV on 05/31/2018The positives: I appreciated the sales reps willingness to work with me over the phone and by email. I am happy with the car and the deal. The negatives: The representatives kept me in the dealership for about 4 hours to fill out… the paperwork for a lease that had already been negotiated over the phone. The car had been brought down and was ready maybe within an hour or so of me getting there. I got to the dealer at 2pm on a Tuesday, so its not like it was during busy hours after work or on a weekend. The place was mostly empty. The Dealer representatives made repeated errors to the same amount on the paperwork (the amount of my capital cost reduction for my lease), even after I corrected it the first time within the first 15 minutes I was there, each time prolonging the amount of time I had to stay. While waiting the Salesperson told me an inappropriate story within earshot of other customers and employees about how some of her family members are on vacation in Myrtle Beach and are mad at the hotel for not telling them it is Black Biker Week so now they wont leave the hotel. The salesperson also took a phone call that I could hear and discussed about the Myrtle Beach situation.Best Dealership Experience
by diana9407 on 05/03/2018We had the best dealership experience with Atlantic Hyundai. Not only did they give us the best price but it was exactly what we talked about and agreed upon. There were no surprise fees or extras that other dealers try to do. They were… quick and efficient in their communications with us. I can't say enough good things about Josiah and his staff! I would recommend all my friends and family to go see them again!Service writer

by CoachRD1 on 02/01/2018I was happy happy with the staff and dealGeneral Manager
by Michaelesq on 10/18/2017GM Jason Montalvo neglects all subsequent emails and subsequent phone calls despite recorded on phone assuring me finance managers misconduct is grounds for termination regarding embezzlement of $4,100 in Toyota extra care plans after… explicitly stating no extra plans or add-ons at time of vehicle signing. Atlantic Hyundai is instructing me to wait 12 weeks for a refund of $3,800 despite Toyota reporting no record of any plans purchased. Toyota also reports: a refund takes less than 30 days. Toyota further reports : since no care plan application has been entered in their system by Atlantic Hyundai to this date, a refund can be issued todayHospitality and Professionalism
by pearlwhite2 on 03/07/2016I want to take a few minutes to rate my experience with Atlantic Hyundai in Bayshore, NY. I am giving this dealership five GOLD Stars. From the moment I walked into Atlantic Hyundai until the moment I drove away with my 2016 Sonata, I… felt comfortable. No pressure from the stereotypical salesperson we all despise. I was already prepared with a knowledgeable foundation of what I wanted and needed in the vehicle. I had come from shopping a different Hyundai dealership because of a radio ad I had heard. However, I did not feel, and that is the optimal word, feel as though the other dealership was listening to MY wants or needs. My Salesperson at Atlantic Hyundai was Vic Carver, who was listening and was exceptionally understanding, tolerant, AND professional. Not to mention I by no means really felt as though he was a Salesperson, but more like a friend helping me with a major purchase. Vic was incredibly attentive to my needs as they did change more than once over a few days. He went above & beyond, locating the specific Sonata I wanted, precisely down to the color and the features I requested. I can sincerely say it was a pleasure to deal with Vic, not because he was thoughtful and offered me a beverage when we were discussing financing. It was not because while I waited for the delivery of the car he offered me a slice of Pizza. Because he LISTENED, from the beginning right through to the financial negotiation process and Vic assured me, we could work together. Vic Carver proved himself trustworthy when he delivered faithfully everything I wanted and needed in the vehicle and with the numbers coming in only twenty-six cents over what I could afford. WOW You people at ATLANTIC HYUNDAI ROCK! From the Sales Manager (Dave) to the Finance Manager to the Business Manager the experience with Atlantic was great, besides I did also have some fun. Can you imagine having fun buying a car? I did.Found what I wanted!
by Mangles62 on 03/06/2016I walked into Atlantic Hyundai at 9 am and met Shailer Martinez. He listened to what I wanted and by 1 pm I had leased a fantastic Hyundai Elantra GT 2016. Great salesperson and got a great deal. Recommend highly.Salesman sold me
by artco on 10/10/2012updated 06/13/2025I have to commend the salesman who handled my transaction, he sold me when I was reqally not the easiest to be sold. I was and still am very pleased with my new Accent 4d Hatchback Se. I would definately return.Another positive buying experience from Atlantic Hyundai
by kevinwilkin on 09/19/2013updated 06/13/2025I bought my son an Accent 2 years ago at this dealership. It was a very pleasant buying experience. The only issue back then was when I'd ask for the "bottom line" price it didn't include the $375 "negotiable documentation fee"....which I… then had to negotiate the $375 out of the price of the car....a little deceitful, time consuming and adds stress to the car buying process. So last week it was time to replace my wife's car. We decided on a Sonata after reviewing and test driving other makes and models. You just can't beat the value of a Hyundai. This trip to the dealer was again pleasant. There was no pressure to buy during the lengthy test drive. When I indicated I'd buy today if the price was right, the negotiations were quick and pleasant. I felt I got a fair deal and a nice car. All the personnel involved were pleasant and professional. When I indicated I wasn't interested in the extended warranty the finance guy quickly stopped the hard sell. (Don't you just love it when you have a guy telling you that you better buy the extended warranty because your new car is gonna fall apart soon? lol) If you do your homework and walk into the showroom prepared and ready to purchase a car, they will take care of you in a professional way....I just wish after 2 years they'd cut out that crazy "negotiable documentation fee" nonsense......so old school- they loose 1 star for that! I would not hesitate to buy another car from this dealership.Car Broke Down 20 Miles Outside Dealership Lot
by mephestopheles on 05/22/2014updated 06/13/2025Test drove a 2005 Chevy Equinox 4/10/14 with 77,1xx miles on it , Drove fine but test drive was only 2 miles so the car did not have an opportunity to get to operating temperature. dealership was unaware of interstate laws with… registration. had to wait 6 weeks for the paperwork/registration to process. Finally Got the Vehicle at 3PM on Monday 5/19/14 with 78,xxx Miles?? strange since i had a deposit on the vehicle, Vehicle Broke Down 20 miles outside dealership on a busy Highway approximately 3:25pm same day. Overheated 3 Times Temperature Gauge Fluctuated Wildly . Dealership was not helpful at all and would not offer a solution other than going to a Jiffy Lube to get it fixed. Had to use last AAA Towing to get the vehicle back to the dealership. Blown Head Gasket in My Opinion, Radiator Reservoir Bubbling and exhaust smelled of Coolant badly. Oil Level was 3X too high and Drivers side headlight was out. They claim a 200 Point Inspection? Dealership seemingly Dodged all my calls and concerns about the vehicle for 2 days. Wanted to return the vehicle but Atlantic Hyundai would not accept a return. Vehicle still sits on Dealership Lot. They called me and said it was fixed but I believe the problem is more than a broken Thermostat as I placed my hand on the Thermostat hose and it was red hot and it would not be that hot if coolant was stuck in the engine. I cancelled my Registration and Insurance and Notified the bank of my Intent of not Paying for a Vehicle I do not have in my Possession since they will not accept the vehicle back. very bad experience. and i will Post my Experience everywhere I have an opportunity to on the internet to warn people of the bad experience I had. My credit is surely ruined because of this and I have to consider any action available to me to salvage my credit and attempt to recoup my $2400.00 deposit. Do Not Shop There Unless you have the Car Double Checked. Let The Buyer Beware. To Big for their Britches
by B_SERIOUS on 01/12/2013updated 06/13/2025I guess the Atlantic dealership would be called an auto "superstore" since it features several car makes . Perhaps they have become so big that they don't care if they sell you a car or not. My experience from the laughable price quotes to… the lack of promised follow up leads me to believe that the Atlantic ownership feels that they do enough sales volume that they don't have to make an effort. The salesman I dealt with first just quoted a flat monthly payment that supposedly included the value of my trade in and the price of the new vehicle. No explanation of what I was paying for the new vehicle or what I was getting for my trade in, just a monthly payment figure. Are there people really stupid enough to fall for that ploy? When I insisted on knowing the breakdown of prices, he quoted me a trade in value that was almost $2,000 lower than what I eventually got from the Hyundai dealer from whom I later made my purchase. As it turned out, Atlantic didn't have a vehicle with the options I was looking for, but the salesman promised to locate one for me at another dealership and call me in 2 days with the results. After 4 days and 2 unanswered phone messages I left with the salesman, I moved on, called dealerships myself and bought the vehicle ( a Santa Fe Sport) at another dealership.Bad experience with sales person!!
by cbawg on 02/24/2012updated 06/13/2025First off although I did not have a good experience with this particular sales person I wouldn't go as far to say that I wouldn't go there again. But whatever you do avoid at all costs speaking with a sales guy Scott Valencia. Initially… when speaking with him, it took him a while to even offer to sit down at his desk which if you want my business lets be professional about it. When we sat down he didn't even know the deals his dealership was currently offering. Luckily I had my boyfriend with me so some guy wouldn't try to take advantage of me and charge me an arm and a leg. Because of the way he came across and the little knowledge he displayed my boyfriend got annoyed and made a sarcastic comment. Wasn't nasty at all about it just a [non-permissible content removed], admittedly so, because the things he was saying were ridiculous. Scott immediately looked up and said he was going to get us someone else and walked away. When he did, all he did was drop curse words left and right over one silly little comment. It's ok for you to take advantage of a customer but when the customer calls you out and he realized he couldn't take advantage he got all pissy about it. The next sales guy although he couldn't do what I was looking for with the car, was still a heck of a lot nicer than that guy. Therefore, moral of the story is avoid that guy. Will never ever give them my business
by gary1452 on 01/02/2012updated 06/13/2025Email with their sales dept. Asked whether they had a certain used model on there lot. They told me they had several availible. Took a half day off from my job and left early. Traveled an hour to get there to find out that they lied and had… no availible cars in the model i asked about. When I spoke to the sales rep Ed, he told me that the people in the back that answer the emails do this all the time as if it's no big deal. When I spoke to the sales manager he kinda shrugged it off, never said he was sorry and then went into the usual sales BS. They will never get my business!!!
