Avoid this Dealership at ALL COSTS!
by TR on 12/20/2024Warning: Avoid this dealership at all costs. I recently had a terrible experience with my vehicle. What was supposed to be a simple repair turned into a disaster. They replaced two tires instead of one, and now a third tire is having… issues. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. I strongly advise against bringing your vehicle to this dealership! I wish I could leave no stars!EXTREMELY HORRIBLE SERVICE
by Jared A Rasheed on 08/03/2024Extremely horrible service, I would like to give no stars but forced by this review template to give at least minimum one. I have called over two weeks trying to reach the assigned service and advisor, was told he would call back took him… two weeks to do so. After I escalated it to the service manager with the receptionist that took 4 days to respond as well. I’ve never had to chase a dealership in this economy for service, usually they chase the customers. Imagine being told you’d be called back within an hr on over 6 different conversation, and no one call was ever returned. The service manager finally was reached and was told of my frustration and chasing of two service advisors, for almost two weeks. He got in touch with his advisor and then the advisor finally reached out. I had called prior to our the order in for the parts needed in which I was told by the parts department that they’ve sent over the parts quote twice and are awaiting response on ordering. I mentioned all of this to the service advisor, in which he explicitly said he will submit the order for the parts, it will take 1-2 days to be delivered. I called the next day to confirm it was actually ordered and I was having smoke blown up my ass to get me off their back. The reservation receptionist confirmed the order was placed. The parts came in as noted by the estimated time, the advisor and the dealership sat on the parts for 3-4 days without notifying me the customer it had arrived. I was calling in the entire week to confirm if it was received and to get an appointment scheduled for the install. Called everyday for an entire week and was told that the service advisor or manager would be in touch. Well that was a lie and everyday I told the agent answering the phone that they’ve said the same thing yesterday. How the service team keeps saying they would return the calls and have been negligent in responding. Has wasted my time for over three weeks going on a month now. I asked to escalate this concern to higher management and the receptionist and office neglected to make contact upon numerous requests. A customer that has spent over $40k in service with this dealership over the past three years and had brought multiple cars in solely to this location and this brand HABBERSTAD and two be dodged, neglected, ignored and on forth for almost a month. When I actually showed up the advisors and manger were tippy toeing around me, attempted to avoid but hard to do now when some one in present in your face. Had the audacity to ask well how can we help you know would you like to schedule a service appointment. Without any care to the deliberate neglect and avoidance. I told him if you and your team could have been honest this would have never been an issue, if you said sorry we can’t service you, we’re too busy, I would have gone elsewhere weeks ago. This is what a true and loyal customer gets from being brand loyal to a multimillion dollar family owned business. I was hesitant in writing this as I am a business owner but someone should hear or read this, maybe the director of operations or service may need to Micro his service department. Wonder if I should pursue a negligence claim. Wonder if this continues will BMW allow them to service or sell any of there products if this becomes a regular thing. How many times can you drop the ball with one customer? I’ve reached my withs end and have paid the bill for the parts and now will attempt to install it myself.I'm truly sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. This level of service is not what we strive for, and I apologize for the delays and lack of communication you encountered. Very Dissapointed
by Richard B on 05/28/2024I brought my car in for a vibration when I was driving around 50mph. The shop obviously had no Idea what they were doing. They originally told me that it is possible I might need a new engine they said they are going to try a few things to… see if they can fix the vibration. They replaced a Harmonic balancer, fixed the rims and a few other things all costing several thousand dollars. Then after taking a few months to figure out why the car had a vibration; they finally said the car needs a new transmission and that the car has gotten in worse shape from when i initially brought it in. They sent a video showing that the axle going to the transmission was shot and had a lot of play in it. They, however, insisted that the transmission had to be replaced. I saw a YouTube video and found someone in a similar situation so i ordered a new axel on Amazon and had it installed from another mechanic. The Axel fixed the entire problem the car runs like new not sure why they didn't fix the axel seems like they were going after a big fix that didn't need to be done over 20k. While in the shop they damaged my vehicle by dropping tools of some sort on my car. When I got the car back, I noticed there was additional damage on the car. The Wing was chipped, and a part was broken off. I went and bought a replacement Wing and requested that BMW just have it painted and installed. I have sent numerous emails to Pete ( Shop Service Manager) with read receipts, so I know my emails haven't gone to spam and I have received no response, so I don't see how this place cares about their customers. Also its kind of sketchy that myself with no mechanical experience was able to fix my car for a fraction of what they were going to charge for an unnecessary repair. I have been a customer for years and I’m appalled that I have just been completely ignored by a company that I was not only understanding but tried to meet ½ way.Excellent Service

Avoid BMW

When I went to pick up my car, he stated that I signed for all of these extra services which I… did not. When i tried to confront him about the payment, he cursed and walked away.John, I'm really sorry to read about your experience. Honest and Reliable

Car was delivered back when promised clean and ready to go. by marc935 on 02/02/2018This was one of the best service I had at any dealership including other BMW, Audi, VW, Subaru. I made an appointment online requesting a loaner car. I was done in under 5 minutes. I received a confirmation appointment email that I put… into calendar. I received a reminder phone call the night before. At Habberstad the next morning, I was on my way in an X1 loaner with only 3k miles in less than 15 minutes! The car was ready early that afternoon with not only new pads, but also a set of rotors!!! With a free hand car wash to boot!! All covered under my maintenence agreement at no additional charge!! All the while, the staff that checked the my car in, Pete the service advisor, and the billing clerk were extremely courteous, efficient, and very friendly. The whole process ticked smoothly like a Swiss watch. I can't imagine a more smooth and pleasant service appointment. And, the new Habberstad dealership is beautiful, clean, aesthetically pleasing starting with driving into the service bay with an automatic roll up door as if you owned the joint! Ended up in a lawsuit
by vinnyg1001 on 09/02/2014I brought my '07 BMW 328xi coupe for servicing at BMW Habberstad's Huntington NY location in August of 2013 because of sporadic rough idling and engine shaking. Shortly after paying $1418.49 for the services on August 5th, I drove the car… off the lot and returned it minutes after due to the same issue. August 8th, I picked my car up after paying an additional $671.22 and drove the car home. Days later the sporadic rough idling and engine shaking continued. I was hesitant to return for servicing because I could not afford additional payments. After months of dealing with the issue, I finally called to see if they would be willing to take another look at the car free of charge. They said I would have to pay an additional $165.00 plus tax! While also calling to get the full value of the monies paid to the company for the services, their representative whom I spoke with, Bill D, was reluctant to give my the information I needed to mtch the value I had listed. I brought my car to the gas station on the corner and had them diagnose the car for $25.00; they pulled a code from my service engine light. P0301 being the code dealing with the problem I have been experiencing which relates directly to the sporadic rough idling and engine shaking. It was easy enough for my to look up YouTube videos on how to fix the car, yet I have been dealing with this issue for months and paid over $2,000 to have the issue fixed, which was NEVER actually fixed! After dealing with Peter M, a service representative for months, I began asking to work with a manager in getting the car fixed! After picking up my car, I saw my brake light was on. Peter M mentioned that "I needed new brakes" and that it would cost me "about $800.00" to get them fixed. I brought my car to Deer Park Quality Auto for a second opinion to see that my brake sensor was cut and was explained that there was no way that this happened by driving the car, instead it was yanked or cut to trigger the brake sensor. Peter M was reluctant on multiple occasions to allow me to speak with Dave C, their service manager, often picking up his line and saying he was unavailable. On two occasions I called under a to speak with Dave immediately after being denied access by Mr. M who said he was out of the office, and reached him after calling back under a different alias. Finally being able to reach Mr. C, I explained the issue at hand. He seemed distraught and eager to help me fix my car. After about one week of them having my car, they had a BMW corporate representative come down to take a look at the car, finding the problem. After denying to pay an ADDITIONAL $1300.00, the car was returned to me missing my BMW emblem on the front. They tried to tell me that the emblem was missing upon receiving the car. My car was returned to me about 5 times with them stating that the issue at hand had been fixed. In August of 2013 I paid for them to replace or change things in my car, that didn't affect or change my initial and only reason for bringing in the car. BMW of Habberstad has refused since then to actually fix the issue, seeing that they had to bring down a BMW corporate representative, it seems as though they were doing guest work all along.Vinny-I responded to this on Google+ as well, but I wanted to make sure you saw it. by dragonminder on 04/19/2012updated 06/04/2025Habberstad is a high-volume dealer, and their service department is very busy. They are short on space, but keep saying they have plans to rebuild the entire Huntington dealership using the blueprints for their recently opened,… state-of-the-art dealership in Bay Shore; meanwhile, no ground has been broken yet. The service advisers are generally knowledgeable, but there is a tendency to try to sell additional services that are not entirely necessary; I assume this is typical of most dealerships. The funniest was "Nitro-fill," where they wanted to charge for filling all your tires with pure nitrogen instead of air the way aircraft tires are filled! All you need to make this extra expense unnecessary is an accurate gauge and 15 minutes a month to check and fill your tires. My two main complaints about Habberstad are the cramped waiting area (if you decide to wait for service), and the fact that loaners are actually mid-level rentals from Hertz, Avis, or Enterprise. Friends who have bought or leased BMWs from other dealers always get BMWs as loaners, which I think is a much better way to treat customers.Good Service

My Service advisor Ron is excellent, he took care of everything and really went the extra mile to make sure… I was completely satisfied and all issues were addressed and corrected (all covered under warranty). This is the fourth certified BMW I have purchased and serviced at Habberstad; I highly recommend this dealership.Get your BME service only at Habberstat BMW

I bought BMW at the dealership and also service my cars, so I have full experience of Habberstat… BMW. The staff are friendly and honest, they will treat you as they will treat friends and family. My advisor explain me in details the service and will call to update status. Never left the service with any issue, always very satisfied! Don't look somewhere else for your BMW service! This is the place!
