The car is not in the condition as what the dealer described. The car has the front bumper reprinted and the passager side headlamp is broken and has steam in it; the buyers would not notice the headlamp problem if they go see the car on a sunny day. The driver side window is scratched. The interior of this car is not cleaned up and ready for resale. Also, there is hidden fees about the car that did not described during the time I contcat the dealer. No wonder the pictures they provided is so blurry.

  • Even one star is too much

    1 out of 5 starsby smpark65 on 10/08/2021

Had an appointment with Jesse who set me up with Paul Paik. This is my second time dealing with him. Both times, he didn't offer me a seat to have a talk possibly in making a deal. He was just arrogant as the first time who said to take it or leave it, and the second visit was just the same. He said they have $5,000 mark up and won't come down. I heard of his reputation for ripping off his own people, but I didn't believe it until I met him. He didn't even go on a test drive on a first visit with me rather handed me the keys to drive alone. When I visited the Liberty Hyundai, the sales man was courteous enough to prepare the temporary tag and things needed for the test drive, Paul didn't even offer that. As I have stated, I am a repeat buyer who last bought two vehicles from your dealer in 2007 Sonata and Santa Fe. I was looking at Santa Fe first with the plan to buy another Sonata following the purchase of Santa Fe. In addition, my kids are coming of age where they will soon need a car for themselves. I have already stated this in your dealership's inquiry. Thanks for the great deal and experience. Although losing one customer wouldn't matter to you as you have buyers lined according to Paul, I will not be going back to your dealership. I don't know about you, but the car buying is stressful enough already. It all made worse with the shortage of inventory, but I didn't need to deal with that kind of arrogant attitude. I will never set my foot in that door again.

  • Can't be trusted at any turn - Waust of your time!!!

1 out of 5 starsby Serafima on 03/09/2019

Horrible customer treatment, and all they care about is to srll you the car... any promises or obligations they specify in your signed agreement is just an empty promise !!! Finance manager Akmal is irresponsible for his words and promises, Dealership Manager Reggie - not willing to take responsibility for all the emistakes dealership made, and general manager Rocco - were absolutely arrogant and not willing to address all the mistakes putting customers financial reputation on the line!!! Don't waste your time and do yourself a favor - find a different dealeship with more savory practices!!!!

    1 out of 5 starsby Rafael22 on 04/04/2018

Just another horrible experience " Just another horrible experience at this garbage location. Stay away from this crooked place. Received 2 sets of keys, one automatic and a regular key, manager threatened to charge me for a an extra set of keys(when I only got one). Manager extremely rude told me that he is the highest person to talk to and nothing I can do anout it. [non-permissible content removed] horrible service, garbage, trying to find more adjectives for this scam place. Hope the main Hyundai dealership cut this garbage place out of their franchise.

  • Worst Experience Ever!

    1 out of 5 starsby G071913 on 02/20/2018

If I can give this dealer a zero star rating I would. What an unpleasant sales manager James is. Wow... never have I ever spoken to someone with these poor people skills. How can a sales person sorry sales manager say he rather auction the car than to sell to a client that is going to give him a headache?!! Really?! He proceeds to tell me yes I would never hear back from the people at the auction let alone negotiate the price?! What?! I’m thinking to myself I thought you are in the business to sell. So I proceed to speak to this man I don’t know why and explained to him that I had spoken to Joseph Aziz on the vehicle on Friday 2/16/2018 with another sales person who promised that if I came back they would give me the negotiated price and they would fix the back up camera. He said “it doesn’t matter what they said it’s what I say I’m the manager of the store.” Wow what an ego driven person. I said I guess you aren’t in the business to sell with your attitude. Then he touch the grown again and said I don’t have an attitude no attitude here. I guess he mistaken me for his wife or even his daughter. Worst experience ever. I would never recommend this dealer even if it was to my worst enemy.

  • Horrible Customer Service

1 out of 5 starsby Alex on 08/10/2017

This dealership has no idea how to deal with customers. They told me things on the phone that they denied saying when I came into the dealership. The manager refused to deal with me in a professional and fair manner and would not discuss the situation. He basically just asked me to leave. I would never walk in there again and I would suggest no one else does either. They lie, cheat, and engage in unethical behavior. Save your time and patience and buy a Hyundai (very good cars by the way) somewhere else.

  • NO FOLLOW THROUGH...

    1 out of 5 starsby elantrabuyer3 on 09/25/2016

We purchased a 2016 Elantra for my daughter about 4 weeks. I was waiting on getting everything the dealership owed us before leaving our review. The transaction went as expected, we relatively got what we came looking for. The sales rep Rey was amicable, his managers were typical car salesmen (a lot of talk, little follow through). And this was the recurring theme with our experience. The car was presented to us in satisfactory condition (washed and vacuumed). However, it was missing a second set of keys and an owners manual which took weeks for us to get and that was only after numerous calls and follow ups with the rep and dealership. Also, the daytime receptionist needs classes in etiquette. After all she is the first line of exposure a new customer has with the dealership and that experience should be a friendly and welcoming one. Overall, I don't think I'll recommend this dealership. I expected a warm, friendly as most of all responsive team of people. What we got were a bunch of rank amateurs just trying to do deals and move onto the next.

  • Very very bad experience

    1 out of 5 starsby rj1899 on 11/06/2010

One of the rudest people I have ever talked to. Instead of advising me to make a good decision, all the sales guy did was trying to force me to accept dumb deals.
  • Not a very good experience at this dealership

    1 out of 5 starsby dmlee168 on 09/26/2010

I thought the sales person was very impatience and rushing you to make a decision for a deal on the spot even before he explained the cars to you. He walked away after about 5 mins of short conversation and never bothered to offer a brochure or further explanations of the vehicles. It seemed that he was jumping from one customer to another because the business was obvious very good, We were in the market for a small cross-over vehicle to replace a sedan that was going off lease in November. From the Edmunds and the Hyundai websites, the price of the Tucson seemed very attractive - and we decided to to go to the dealership to better understand the products. It was busy at the dealership when we get there. The receptionist asked us to wait for 10 mins before the sales person showed up. He was obvious a bit rushed and got a little annoyed that we didn't understand that Tuscon and Santa Fe were not cross-over but SUVs. I asked him if he could showed us the vehicles - which were in the parking lot and not in the show room. We could see that he was edgy about my request as it appeared NOT to be something that he wanted to do. In any case, he marched out and my wife and I tried to keep up. He just pointed out the vehicles to us and stood around. Of the 3 SUV lines from Hyundai, only the Tuscon had its doors opened at the lot and he did not want to open the other ones. As we were trying to figure the market positioning of the vehicles, he kept asking us if we are interested in doing a deal. He never bothered to explain anything to us and yet trying to pressure us into a deal - in less than 5 mins after we met him - without even showing us the cars! I eventually told him that we were not ready to do a deal and would like to understand the vehicles better... and he immediately headed back inside the building and proceeded to help another couple. I was very annoyed about this experience with Hyundai and realized how good the sales teams from Acura, Honda, and Sabura were. We also realized why Hyundai is priced lower for the same class of vehicle - by giving a generic services and hiring less than qualified sales / service teams. Now, not only I am willing to pay more for a more luxurious car, but also willing to pay more for able to work with someone to get our questions answered - and helping us to move along the sales cycle. We've now decided to go with Acura RDX - from the sames sales guy that sold our MDX 3 years ago. We are expecting to sign our lease in 2 weeks and it was a pleasure dealing with the Acura people.
  • UNPROFESSIONAL

1.5 out of 5 starsby geopie on 07/08/2008

Went to dealer on Juy 4 looking for a Sonata . Sales person showed me 2 cars I was interested in. Went back inside to see what kind of price I could purchase this car for. Msrp was 27775 went to get price form sales manager, came back with a price of 25775. He was only giving me the cash amount and not any dealer discount. He stated they had to make some profit. He said take it or leave it. On the way to my car, someone on the loud speaker made some nasty remarks about me DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE
  • Hyundai of Paramus is full of lies [violative content deleted]!

    1 out of 5 starsby jb34_56 on 06/25/2008

Typical dealer nonsense. They made a deal with me and when I came back they told me they cant make the deal for that price anymore and that I would have to pay $1000 more!! I spoke with the manager on duty and he said he doesnt know who authorized the original price until I told him it was you! He had the nerve to say he doesnt remember. The salesmen Khaled lied to me because I asked what other charges were involved and he said just tax! These guys just give you a low price, make you salivate and then try to screw you when it comes down to making a deal. The worst dealership I had ever had the displeasure of dealing. • Hyundai of Paramus

4.6 out of 5 starsby ccarrizo on 03/14/2008

I went to Hyundai of Paramus looking for a Sante Fe. I was comparing this to Toyota and Honda. I had never considered a Hyundai until one of my friend told me to look at it. By the time I went to Hyundai I was very dicouraged with this whole auto buying thing. Toyota and Honda treated me very poorly as if I was not good enough to drive their vehicles. At Hyundai in Paramus they made me feel very comfortable. They explained every detail and feature to me. The Manager went out of his way to come over and talk to me and to make sure I was happy with the vehicle and features. Then I told them I wanted the best price. The Manager came back with numbers that I just could not resist. So I decided to purchase and there was a little wait to get into finance. They send me out for a bite to eat and they even paid for it. This was truely the best experience I have ever had at any dealership.

I love to shop for cars and never get to do it as often as I would like. This dealer ship is like all the others if you go in prepared they will move a manager in to work with you to get you what you want. Remember you can always walk. I do my homework before and go in knowing my bottom line and did not have any issues at all. they were all friendly and helpful and got me in and out with my new car in just a few hours start to finish.

i was interested in buying either a used Genesis or new Elantra Touring (very different cars I know, but no matter). i went to Paramus Hyundai and noticed that on every single car, beside the window sticker, they had added another sticker saying "additional dealer equipment" for $1,495, consisting of door edge guards and another couple pieces of plastic. Absolutely unbelievable. I have never seen this before. Every Car! Once i figured out what was going on, i left. Any dealer that does this is bottom of the barrel in my books. I'll figure out another place to buy a car.
  • Unprofessional, Sneaky Sales Personnel

I went to this dealership to buy an Elantra Limited. First the manager wanted to see my credit card to make sure I was serious about buying a car. I told them no, they didn't need to take my credit card to the "manager booth". At that point, I should have known that these guys were unprofessional. We agreed on a price and shook hands. Then Rob came back with a print out and said the manager made a mistake and the car was $1,500 more. Who does that? I thought Rob was a helpful sales person until it came to the deal and he was just as sneaky as the rest of them. They even performed an unauthorized credit check even though I told them I had financing through my bank. I ended up walking out without a car and felt that they tried to take advantage of me because I was a woman. Do not go to this dealership, they can not be trusted.

It was my first time purchasing a car. I went to Pramus Hyundai dealership to get a quotation on Elantra and had to dealt with salesman named Paul P. He gave me hell lot of pressure to purchase the car on that day. I clearly told him that I'm just there to get a quotation and he just processed a documentation. I am 100% sure that he knew it was my first time purchasing a car or coming to a dealership. He told me that in order to get a actual quotation, I had to get my credit check and interest rate from financial department. He told me this was the next step and I had to sign the document. I asked him what this signature is about and he told me this signature is just for going to a financial department. So I signed the paper and he asked me if I can make $1000 deposit. He said this deposit is mandatory to get a interest rate. I told him that if the interest rate is not what I'm looking for, I'll have to cancel this deal and get a full-refund. He said OK. I was concerned and felt suspicious. So I asked him several times if this is refundable. And he said "YES, OF COURSE, I SWEAR YOU WILL GET 100% REFUND FOR THIS DEPOSIT." I trusted him. And YES, this was my worst decision of my life. I went to financial dept and got my interest rate. But the interest rate wasn't what I was looking for. So I told him that this interest rate is higher than I thought it would be and I am 90% sure that I'll be cancelling this deal and get a refund. He said "Ok, think more about it at home and call me any time for a refund". So on that evening, I called him to cancel for a full-refund. He kept asking why and I told him it's just the interest rate is too high for me. He told me to come to the dealership to get a refund, so I went. He took my credit card and copied it. I didn't understand why he copied my credit card and not giving me a refund. Then he said I have to talk to my manager before getting a refund. So I got to sit with the manger, Eric B. He comes and he was asking me very rudely, "Why are you cancelling this deal?" I told him that the interest rate is way too high. And he goes "Okay. Just want to tell you that we can't give you a refund. Since we already brought a car from other place, you will be charged for $500 delivery fee and rest of $500, we'll give you our store credit." I started to freak out. They clearly mocked me and under estimated me because I'm way younger than they are. I told him that Paul (dealer) clearly told me that this is 100% refundable. Then he goes "Do you have any proof? Well, he's not a manager. He doesn't have any power to do that. You should have come to me and ask". Can you believe this? Then why are dealers working there to answer customer's questions? He showed me the paper that I signed. It was the paper that Paul told me to sign to get a interest rate. Eric told me that I should have read the papers, so it's all my fault. According to him, since I signed that paper, they can't give me a refund. Paul was sitting right next to me. So I told him "Why are you doing this to me? Do you think I'll let this happening go like this? I'm going to report you and write all the things I gone through on the internet". Then Paul and Eric goes, "Please go ahead. Write a review. We don't mind. :) If you want to bring this to the court, please do so. Since we have you signature, it will be just bit hard for you to go through all this. Eventually, we'll win". I went home and called customer affairs at Hyundai. They told me that what Paramus Hyundai have done to me is illegal and they apologized to me. I have so many more things to say on this review. How they mocked me, all the lies, insulting comments and etcs. I really do hope people will read this review and never go to that dealership. I also found out from that they charged unnecessary things on the contract paper. So please do read carefully. They will add anything to make the price to go up. I don't understand how Paramus Hyundai is still operating. I'm telling you. Dealers at Pramus Hyundai are all the same. It's not just Paul P. and Eric B. I had to fight with all of them. They never apologize. It's everyone. They will rip off your money. PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!

I had already been on Edmunds so I knew what the FMV was for my used car to trade in as well as what the new Tuscun should cost. The sales guy was an absolute [violative content deleted] he was sexually harrassing me trying to get my cell phone number "in case he wanted to call me later" he quoted me a price that was supposed to be $1300 off sticker, but the sticker price he put down, on the back of an envelope was the wrong number, so when the paper work was done, they were selling the car at MSRP, becasue I got hustled out, no one showed me how to use the stuff in the new car and I was given a voucher to take the car across Rt. 4 to fill it up with gas myself. When I got home I noticed the error and immediately called, they were gone for the day so I called on Monday. It was a major fight to get them to give me money off the MSRP and redo the paper work, they sold me a Service contact for $805, telling me it would cover everything the warrenty didn't for 3 years, it turned out to be a COUPON BOOK FOR 10 OIL Changes for $805. I had to call Hyundai America to get them to refund my money for that. I will never step foot in that dealership again, go to Mah Wah or Nanuet.
    • THANK YOU Carbuyer127 for posting this! I'm going tomorrow to buy a Hyundai and was going to go to Paramus, now I won't. I'm glad people like you take the initiative to "save" others. My best friend used to work at a car dealer and he would tell me stories, just for your own knowledge most upsell (extended warranty, dealer add ons, etc) and financing is PURE PROFIT for the dealer. Already, cars are extremely extremely profitable.

I have been really interested in test-driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis, so I decided to go to Hyundai of Paramus. I took a friend with me and we waited forever to speak with a sales associate even though there were only 2 customers being taken care of. We met a really nice and kind sales associate who let me test drive the Genesis. Following the test drive, they offered me a price which required $2k down(probably the $1495 + first month) and a monthly price to lease that I thought was too high. To counter my rejection, the sales associate introduced me to this other guy who was cold and callous. He wanted to know why I wasn't interested in the deal and I compared his price to a price I received to re-lease with a recognized luxury dealer. He laughed and said that his car was better. I understood his response since he was just defending his car and company. So I asked him to convince me why his car was better than this other luxury car. His response? "Because it has more metal!" I had to keep my laughter inside! Yes, the Genesis is bigger than the Infiniti G, but is that why it's a better and more expensive car? He couldn't provide me with any more reasons, so I essentially left. I'm glad I decided to re-lease with another company and would recommend for those interested in Hyundai to visit other local dealerships that know what they're talking about. "More metal" just isn't convincing enough.

This is the worst store I have been ever deal with -- they are disahonest, unreliable, unprofessional and rude. I made an appointment to see Hyundai Tucson. Since I had to travel about 2 hours to the store, I checked with the Sale Rep. on the phone several times to make sure that the cars and the colors I was interested in were available for me to see, the Rep. assured me that they were available. However, none was available when I arrived. I was angry and disappointed. The manager simply said that the cars were all sold out over night and provided no further help. His attitude was like saying "You are fooled! What can you do?" What kind of manager is it? He is the worst manager ever, and I don't understand how he became the manager. He has no customer relations skills at all. I left the store with great disappointment, but I was glad that I didn't purchase any car from them. They are already so terrible before I purchase the car, you can imaging how they treat you after you purchase the car.
