Julian, the man for your MB purchase
by jnworster on 11/15/2015I've been eyeing the Mercedes Benz C-Class for years now. The other day I decided it was time to make it happen. I had three appointments around the National Capital Region looking for a certified-pre-owned C300 4matic with low miles and… plenty of features. Arriving at the Silver Spring location, Julian quickly greeted me and rather than shouting sales and aggressively pushing me toward any particular models, he sat me down at his desk to chat. We talked for a bit, he got a feel for what I wanted and reaffirmed my decision to buy Mercedes. We agreed that we didn't want to beat around the bush--if I was going to buy, it was going to be quick and streamlined. Julian is the man for this. He took my requests down on paper and made them happen in no time. With a phone call, I had the keys to my C300 in my hand and was signing paperwork. A process that could have easily been dragged on for hours took me maybe an hour from test-drive to driving home. I highly recommend Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring for anyone considering joining the Mercedes-Benz family. It was a welcoming, informational, and professional buying experience. Best Buying Experience Ever

Our salesman, Khalil Nuri, was professional, very knowledgeable, and most importantly he listened to what we wanted in a vehicle. There was absolutely no… pressure to buy, no pricing games or sales manager interventions, just an honest effort to make the purchase a win-win experience. And to top it all off, when we left the dealership and forgot one of our keys, Khalil realized what happened and drove it out to us. I recently purchased a pre-owned 2011 Mazda 3 from MBSS and the incredible teamwork from all facets of the dealership was… displayed. I got to meet exceptional individuals in Sales,Management,Finance and Service and they all "knocked the ball out of the park". My initial point of contact at MBSS was sales representative Tony Zelaya. From the opening handshake to the last handshake, Tony Zelaya provided "Outstanding Customer Service". For two weeks Tony demonstrated courtesy,knowledge,unparalleled professionalism and his valuable time. This Mazda 3 was the vehicle I had been searching for and the deal would not have been done without Tony Zelaya. Tony received strong management support from Pre-owned sales manager Ray Goodarzi. Ray's expertise,knowledge,valuable time and sign-off approval on a few key issues was greatly appreciated. This purchase would not have been possible without Ray. The car had been repainted, hood, door, fender but the salesmen continued to argue that it had not been repaired. Tony Z Excellent Sales Consultant-Just Bought Mercedes-Benz From Him
by sullivan4 on 08/11/2014I visited 2 other local Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Washington D.C. before driving 67 miles to Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring. On August 8, 2014, I was greeted by Tony Z who genuinely focused on my automotive requirements and budgetary… concerns. He took his time and did not pressure us at all. I was impressed with his friendliness and good nature. He really put us at ease. He drew upon all of his resources (sales management, finance etc.) to help land us in the Mercedes-Benz of our dreams and with affordable investment options. He followed-up the next day to ensure everything is OK (it was!). My impression of Tony and of Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring is that they are invested with their customers. It's all about building that relationship that can be hard to find at other car dealerships. I feel so comfortable with Tony that I am referring my family and friends to him. by canz on 12/02/2008I was looking for a 2008 ML320. I really wanted the diesel engine, but I was shopping at the end of the model year, and the dealer did not have any more. My salesman, Gordon Chertoff, really went the extra mile. He located a ML 320 at a New… Jersey dealership. Through the Mercedes-Benz dealer exchange program, Gordon was able to have the vehicle delivered to the Herb Gordon dealership here in Maryland for me to purchase. Now it gets more interesting. The vehicle arrived on a flatbed and was prepped by Herb Gorden. I purchased and took delivery of the vehicle immediately. On the drive home, I noticed a troubling vibration. The next day I reported the vibration to Mr Chertoff, who suggested that I bring the vehicle in immediately for service. I did, and the service department discovered that the tires had developed flat spots--no doubt from sitting on a lot for several months. The service department obtained authorization from MB to replace all four tires! The next day I was on the road, this time with no problems. I was very impressed with the finesse that the service department exercised when dealing with this problem. And I was also impressed with the assistance provided by Gorden, who, after the sale, went to bat for me and made sure I got the replacemet tires with no hassles. From the manager, to the sales people to the service personnel, everyone is extremely knowledeagble, caring, fair-minded and efficient. by uha on 01/01/2012updated 05/08/2025I recently bought two new MB (ML350 for myself and an E350 for my sister) at the dealership in Silver Spring, MD. Over the past few months I have visited three BMW dealers and two MB dealers in the area I must say this dealership provided… me with the best and most pleasant car-buying experience. Like everybody else, I started my research well in advance and read a number of reviews, especially Edmunds.com. Within a few hours after I initiated an RFQ online, the general manager Steve Gluck replied and sales person Mkesh Hargun took over the process. Mkesh was professional, not at all pushy and answered all my questions in honesty which put me at ease immediately. There was inevitable negotiations with Steve after test drives and a series of technical queries with Mkesh. All done via email and over the phone from the comfort of my home since I live 30 minutes away. I got both vehicles under factory invoice, well below true market value and 9.1% off MSRP as per the numbers reported by Edmunds.com and MBUSA.com websites. While I will never know to what extent the dealers are prepared to go below the factory invoice; all indications are that both cars were very decent deals. Being last week of December, I was at the very end of their annual quota-push and that apparently helps. MB financial services also provide 1.65% if you opt for auto direct payment via ACH transfer (1.9% if not) from your bank. Disappointed Potential Customer

When I mentioned that the vehicle seemed bigger than the one I just test drove at another dealership, the sales person was insistent that "his" vehicle is at least the same size if not shorter… than the other vehicle. That's fine. However, he went on to tell me that the cars from the other auto dealer were over-rated. I feel like a car should sell itself and the sales person should not have to put down other manufacturers' vehicles in order to make his look better. On top of everything, not only did he take calls while we test drove the vehicle, he made it very clear to everyone that we were on the way back to the dealership (before the test drive was even complete!). Apparently, someone else was there waiting on him. As soon as we arrived, he left me with a brochure and was off to meet his other clients. The next day he followed up with an e-mail to me simply stating (incorrectly) the length of the *other* car I test drove and stating that "his" car was a few inches shorter. There were no pleasantries to the e-mail...just a (mis)statement of facts! I would never buy a car from this dealership!In response to the reviewers concerns, Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring would like to research the customers experience further. As we take great pride in providing exceptional customer service, we would appreciate the opportunity to investigate this situation to ensure a pleasant future visit and to help properly train all of our associates.
