Quick, efficient oil change service
by Scott G on 03/27/2024The service advisor Oscar Galicia checked me in quickly and efficiently for an oil change & multi-point inspection. He kept me informed by sending a video of the inspection of my car to my smartphone. I waited for my car at the dealership,… and this time my car was ready in a reasonable amount of time. (On my last visit I had to wait much longer to have the battery replaced). This time the service was fast and reasonably priced.Scott, Providing quick and efficient service is so important to us here at The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston and we are glad that Oscar's efforts could meet your satisfaction! Service work good. Other. Not so…

Dirt/road splash’s they were significant in size still on car body, even dirt/dust from using my washer fluid and wipers to clean windshield all still on windshield. 75% of car not wiped dry. I thought a… car wash was part of service. Not car wet. Also. All interior car Bluetooth connectivity was gone and I had to reconnect my cell phone and systems all over again. Why!?Needed an immediate appointment

by Dave Sutor on 11/18/2022I’ve had my Mazda 3 serviced at the Mazda of Evanston service dept. ever since I bought it 12 years ago, with no complaints or returns to have the car properly serviced.. During that time I’ve dealt with three separate Service Writers each… of whom did an outstanding job of professionally working with me, giving me valuable information, answering all my questions clearly, and fulfilling various requests I made to them. Each one was courteous, well trained and knowledgeable. The current man I ask for when I bring my car in for servicing , and whom I trust and found to be truthful, experienced and dependable, is Oscar Galacia.. He excels at his job and represents his employers in a consistently positive manner. He also works extremely well with the technicians.Dave, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! His name is Simon Kim and he is always super responsive, very professional, accurate and accommodating. Sometimes auto repairs can be a stressful situation in… and of itself, but Simon always assist in making it less stressful. He helps in any way he can. As usual, there were many recommendations after the inspection of the car, but as long as… you're an informed consumer you can determine which services are necessary and not, as well as what a fair price for those services are. Some suggestions are better than others, but the service has been great each time I've used them.Service rep

by ChitownTommy on 04/23/2015This review is about the district manager at the Autobarn Mazda of Evanston. I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6 from this dealership and was very happy with my experience with my salesman and since then going back for routine oil changes,etc... has… been an equally pleasant experience with their service department and they have all taken care of me in a professional matter when there. HOWEVER, I've had a bad experience with how my situation was handled by Mazda. The color of my car is Soul Red Metallic, this color of paint is something you pay extra for the car and it is claimed by Mazda as stated by them, " To create Soul Red Metallic, we put an entirely new three-coat painting process into action. The result is absolutely unlike any other red on the roada deep and vivid redness that appears to emanate from within. By using two separate coats of high-brightness aluminum flakes and high-chroma red pigment, it is nothing less than an audacious reinvention of the painting process. " I love the color of this car and am told that by people all the time and didnt mind paying extra money for it and even got a paint protection from Mazda, called their Autoguard, to help keep this paint looking great whereby I go every 6 months to this dealership to have then apply a coat to the car to help protect the pain. That all said is Great but what I am very unhappy with is how after only having this car for about a year now, as stated before its a 2014 Mazda 6, I have paint on my car that is starting to flake off and in most uncommon spots. I brought this to the dealerships attention and I believe they did what they could do to address this problem but when they brought this issue to their district managers attention he declined to have my problem fixed saying that my paint flaking off is due to "enviromental" causes ! It would have cost Mazda roughly $1800.00 to correct this problem as I was shown the work order and estimate to have this taken care of. This incident was reported to them by me in March of this year, the dealership took pictures and sent them on to the district manager for approval but I was declined, as just mentioned, by he or she just looking at these pictures Im guessing via email. I have done online searches and read online forums and Im not the first person to complain about their 2014 Mazda 6 red soul metallic paint flaking off !!! So much for paying extra for this color paint and getting a paint guard protection to protect the paint !!! A cars paint shouldnt flake off after not even a year to the point you see metal on the car no matter how small or big the flake !!!!!! Mazda has a beautiful color in this red soul metallic paint and boasts about it even in their brouchures, manuals,etc....I only wish they would have done the right thing in addressing this issue of mine and I feel now I must get stock in touchup paint for this car because God only knows what else is going to happen to this paint that isnt "enviromentally" caused. In closing, I must make mention that this review is in now way a negative reflection on this Mazda dealer by any means ! I feel they did what they could do for me before taking it to a higher level, which they did. From my salesman John, to the service manager Myriam and service associate Juan Vargas I thank you for the positive experience with all of you and hope to keep that going moving forward but to the district manager or whomever made this decision based off of emailed pictures and who refused to take care of this matter properly I dont have anything good to say about this incident at all with you.Bad Customer Service, Don't Return Calls
by amymazda on 12/31/2014Service I was told I would get a rental when I brought my car in. I tried for 2 months to get a rental so I could schedule service and they always told me I was on the list. I even said, Am I doing something wrong, this cant normally… take this long. Just tell me what I should expect since I am new here. Never got a clear answer. Even the Service Manager (John) said he would return my calls. Never did. I kept calling and got a wonderful guy in service that kept giving the Service Manager my messages. He still never called. Finally this wonderful guy got me in. Service was good and the system on how they keep you up to date is good. I got my service in October. Once I dealt with another Finance Manager that said all was taken care of I called and got John on the phone who said he would return my call and let me know when my extended warranty was in the system. Never did. I had to follow-up. In November while in busy traffic my car would no longer accelerate. This happened twice in one day. I then got to Roto Mazda in Arlington Heights (closer to where I was). They found out I was low on transmission fluid and found no leaks. My only conclusion is when I bought the car they didnt top off fluids and when I took it in for my October checkup, they didnt check the fluids like is on my invoice that I paid for in the check up. Also, a co-worker just bought a car there too and her fluids werent topped off and a month after her car was in their shop. I called the Service Manager (John) to talk about this and he never returned my call. I bought from Evanston because of the wonderful reviews on line. I researched and specifically picked them because of this. I am very disappointed. I have spent so much time and energy on this and dont trust for them to make sure my vehicle is safe. I have on multiple occasions expressed that I have had many issues and no one seems that concerned about it. I bought a brand new car so I wouldnt have many issues and since I have bought this car, the dealership has cost me a lot of time with all of the unnecessary issues based on their lack of service. I have never had as many problems with a dealership before. I kept saying, is this how it is with everyone? I have had to many problems. They just say no. I will also never by a car there again. As wonderful as the General Sales Manager has been, it is the whole experience.Hello Amy, First, I would like to sincerely apologize for the lack of communication you received while working with our dealership. We strive to make each and every customers experience here as easy and enjoyable as possible, and this is no way to show it. Second, I would ask that you give us another chance to earn you back as a customer. Oil Change while waiting
by beefyusa on 11/11/2014Juan Castellanos could not have been any more helpful. He let me know what work was going to be performed and what could wait. He said it would take about 1 hr including tire rotation. It was less than an hour an I was gone. Great… Service!My second Mazda from Autobarn

I have consistently taken both cars to the Autobarn for service and the quality of the service department is part of the reason I purchased the CX-9 at Autobarn. Their service… department has always been courteous and provided excellent service. Juan Castellanous has been handling my service recently and has continued the excellent, courteous, knowledgeable service I have come to expect.
