Refused to Cover Warrantable Low-Cost Issue
by Brett R on 12/18/2024This makes no sense and I am compelled to let others know, not just forget about it. I bought my '22 Kia Niro at this dealer and less than 1.5 years later with only 17,600 miles (still under the original factory warranty 3yrs / 36K miles)… the car had been towed in 4 times for the same problem, a faulty 12v battery that would not hold a charge. Each time the service dept. simply charged the 12v battery enough to start the car, and sent me home saying I needed to drive it more to charge it up. I drive the car every single day! After the 4th tow and and all the frustration of being stranded again on the other side of Atlanta, it wouldn't even start when I came to pick it up where they had parked it in front of their service entrance! They had to jump it off in front of me with a mobile charger after I showed the tech how to open the hatchback with the manual key and pointed out where the 12v battery was. Yet they still refused to acknowledge the 12v battery was faulty and should be covered. They said, "it's excluded. We'll replace it for $240." During none of these visits was I offered a loaner car, and each visit took 3-4 days. I always had to call, leave messages and hope someone would call me back with an update. I did work with a very nice advisor, Gypsy, but she was clearly not empowered to make a pro-customer decision in my case. Instead, it felt like she would be dinged for pushing warranty coverage and was trained to issue excuses from a play book to deflect repeat non-rev service customers. I don't know. Just a corporate hunch. Finally, after they got started the car with a mobile charger - still refusing to replace the original 12v battery under the still active "bumper to bumper" warranty, I drove it directly to another Kia dealer who covered the replacement battery 100% and offered me a loaner. See photo. The new kia shop said, "we have to give customers loaners for cars still under their original warranty; and it's the right thing to do. We get a lot of fed-up customers from Voyles." I did let the Voyles dealer know via their text-chat, which was met with profuse apologies (another deflection tactic), but naturally no-one from management bothered to contact me. As a result, over a $150 battery, Ed Voyles Kia lost a repeat customer, a trade, and a future purchase, but they did earn this review. Maybe they are so busy, they can afford to deny warrantable service to pad their bottom line. Who cares? I'll never go back.No Customer Service!
by Telicia on 12/29/2023I am highly disappointed with the recent service received. It took three weeks for me to get an update on what was wrong with the car. Finally, I was told the motor in my Kia Optima had to be replaced and it was covered under warranty.… Great! I pick the car up and park it in the garage because I've been driving my truck. I drive the car to run some errands and notice the brake light indicator is on. I got to Auto Zone and asked them where the brake fluid container is located. The person helping goes to open the hood, I see a scratch that wasn't there when I took it to the dealership, the hood won't stay up because the hydraulic shaft is no longer functioning, the oil dip stick is missing, and there is not a drop of brake fluid in the car. All of which was fine before going in for service. I take the car back up to the dealership and tell them all of this. I just wanted an apology for scratching the car without telling me when I picked it up, a dipstick, and a solution to get the hood to stay up. Instead, I got, you've had the car for 14 days, we can't say we're responsible, but we did put a dipstick back in the car. It was 11 days sir (dropped it off on Nov 16 and picked it up on Dec 18th). I'm thoroughly frustrated that they wouldn't give me a simple apology for bad customer service. That's all I wanted was an acknowledgment that the service could have been better and a damn dipstick. If I needed to pay for the hood hydraulic kit, cool. But don't just dismiss me! If I damage something of yours, I'm going to bring it to your attention and apologize. It's that simple. It's a freaking scratch and things happen. I get it! If your mechanic left the dipstick out and didn't check the fluids, what else didn't he do? Is there a bolt missing in the motor? Will it fall out while I'm driving one day? At this point, I have no confidence in this service department and will never bring my vehicle back for service. I had no problem letting them know that their service and my experience was just plain shitty. Yep, my words exactly! They sell em but they cant fix em
by M4dP155ed on 11/07/2022Terrible service dept. Rude, unorganized and unkept promises. Drop off your car with an appointment that took 2 months to get only to find out a day later that they dont even have the part in stock and after complaining the service manager… refuses to fix the vehicle??? lol patheticPoorly run
by Jo on 05/16/2021I had my car serviced at the dealer and was told they vacuum it- complementary. Well, when I returned home after the service was done I discovered they only vacuumed the front of it. I spoke with the manager about it and he said that's… all they do. Talk about pathetic. Either do the job right or don't do it all all. This is like saying you'll wash the car but only do the top. Ridiculous.Good visit
by James on 11/11/2019The service appointment went well. The service agent spent time answering my questions. Wait time wasn't too long. Staff was friendly and accomadatingPleasant routine maintenance service visit
by Smiling_Dud on 05/12/2016updated 05/25/2016They took me at my appointed time and finished up about 30 minutes early. I even got a warm rhubarb pastry from my service manager - who received several dozen from another repeat customer. Diana Bell, my service manager, was… professional with the service yet personally engaging which made for a very pleasant time.Exceptional Service

by Gregg_30297 on 03/21/2016Since purchasing my vehicle from Ed Voyles KIA 3 years ago, Diana Bell has made a firm commitment to me to provide the absolute best service that the dealership could provide. Ive had my vehicle serviced at the Smyrna location at lease a… dozen times for regular maintenance and Ms Bell has always treated me as a valuable customer. She is one of the main reasons that I travel 46 miles to have my vehicle serviced at Ed Voyles. She is a five Star performer.Service

by sewalker8 on 03/14/2016Stephanie was great, I told her that I needed my highline hose replaced and my A/C recharged. She was able to provide me with a quote and schedule my appointment. Upon arriving, the work was completed in the allotted time that she gave me… and for the price she quoted. No surprises. She even gave my car a quick wash. Definitely would recommend Ed Voyles and Stephanie.Awesome!!

by KiaSoulDragon on 12/14/2015I had 2 recalls completed on my Kia Soul. Diana Bell, Service Advisor took the time to review what would be done and that she would call me when the service was complete. She shared the service department could be competitive on other… services needed in the future. Overall an excellent experience.STAY AWAY, READ ONLINE REVIEWS.....
by motyson on 12/08/2015My car sat at this dealership for 2 weeks and I had to call service agent Diana Bell numerous times to find out the status of my car. I made a complaint with her service manager, who then lied to me about my car issue being discovered.… After that, I demanded to speak to the General Manager, John Schibi. John came up with a temporary solution and told me I would hear from my service agent the next day. At 4:30pm the next day, no one had called me so I called and was told to pick my car up. Two weeks later and they were unable to solve the issue my car had. After they seemingly forgot that they even had my vehicle and failed to update me daily, the experience picking up my car made things worse. The service rep checked in my loaner and then stood near me for 10 minutes picking at his fingernails and didn't notify me of the low gas tank. Instead he allowed me to wait 10 minutes next to him only to have someone else tell me. After I came back 20 minutes later I noticed my car was not waiting for me. Instead my service rep was sitting in her office chatting with another agent and the service rep that checked me in was chatting with a Cashier. While waiting another 8 ½ minutes for the service rep to bring my car to me, I ask the cashier for the name of the General Manager and she replies that she doesnt know how to spell his name and doesn't even bother to ask a colleague or look it up. When my car comes, after 2 weeks of sitting in their garage, I notice that they didn't even run it through their car wash, as it is customary to do at dealerships. The service rep gets out of my car and I notice that he does not remove the standard paper mats from my car where he and the mechanics have undoubtedly transferred oils and other car fluids onto my mat. Even after hearing me make all of these complaints and seeing how extremely irate I was, neither the service rep nor my service agent offered me a simple apology. Instead, she said, Have a Merry Christmas.Excellent service from Keith and team
by huthut11 on 03/30/2012updated 06/01/2025My car is being serviced under the warranty. Not only have I heard form the service department everyday with followup, but they didn't patch work the problem and send it back to me. They actually called into the manufacturer and engineers… came to evaluate, research, and disect the problem to properly repair my car and prevent future repeats of this problem. This is the kind of car you want put into the machine that you put the lives of your loved ones into. All of our cars, even non-Kia's, will now be serviced here.
