  • Awful Experience

    1 out of 5 starsby KKennedy55 on 12/17/2014

We purchased a vehicle for my stepson and the experience was awful. We did a cash deal so you would think it would have been easy...NOT so fast. It all started with the young sales guy we had and he was awesome...then he wasn't able to be there the day of purchase. We then had to deal with the "General Manager"(who turned out to be the used car manager) and then the issues started. He talked very fast and loud and told us that we were good to go with our agreement and stipulations we had to have for our stepson since he is in the Navy. Then the finance guy came out who was very smug towards us and said most of the stuff we agreed upon couldn't happen. Then finally we got the deal done and then other issues came up. It has taken 2 months for us to get the tag for the car...but that only happened after I went to the dealership and spoke with Will( he had nothing to do with the initial deal) about what was going on. He tracked down what was going on and was able to get our tag to us. There is a serious lack of communication at this dealership along with personal attention to detail. We had purchased 2 other vehicles from this dealership about 1 1/2 years prior with no issues and a great financial guy. We will not purchase another vehicle from here until changes are made. Don't get me wrong...the salesman was great...upper management and finance guy not so much !!!!
  • Deceitful practices

The Sales Manager (Fil) and Salesman (Will) lied to me regarding the vehicle I test drove. They told me the Sports Model and EXL were the same vehicle but the Sports Model didn't have a sunroof so it cost less. I test drove it and asked why it was a hard ride and was told it was only because the car only had 3 miles on it and it was sitting. Unfortunately, I take the stupidity award because I believed them. After I drove it home and the next day I realized something was really wrong. I brought it back and the maintenance department explained it would always ride harder than the EXL because it has a different suspension. After 3 months and a series of events, I was contacted by the Finance Mgr to come back to get an EXL and they would 'make it right' since I was so miserably unhappy with the car and they acknowledged I was lied to. One of the owner's sons (John DeMasso) was going to personally assist me. No explaining that I believed them and after the 2nd transaction I realized the next day that they had used every smoke and mirrors trick and between the 2 transactions I was duped to the tune of -$7,000! I love my Honda but it makes me sick whenever I pass their dealership and think how many other people they have taken advantage of.

I found a car on the website I was really interested in taking a look at. It was an orange 2009 honda civic Si for 17,000$ with 20,000 miles. I called the dealership yesterday 9/12 around 5:30pm to ask if the car was still available. Darren in used car sales says the car is still there and he would love to make an appointment with me to talk about the vehicle and purchasing it. We settled for an appointment on Saturday 9/13 from 3-4pm. Because I have had issues with salesman in the past, I decided to drive 30 minutes to cocoa from Melbourne on 9/12 to see the car Darren told me was still there. I spoke with Jim who told me the car had sold A LONG TIME AGO. I would like to thank Darren for showing me how scheming car sales man can be to even lie about you having a car in stock just to get you to their office for a sale. Terrible service. I will NEVER buy a car from a dealer that promotes lying to customers.

Beware of this dealership - I frequent many honda dealerships in Brevard County (Ron Norris Honda to SoutheasternHonda). I had boycotted this dealership many years ago due to their unethical practices. Time had passed and I thought to give them another try. Same old tricks - they will promise the client anything to get them on the lot and then waste as much time as they can to wear you down. They do not meet their adervtised prices online. Exteremely shady car dealership.
    • Hondo69 is absolutely correct. How this Honda dealership gets away with their unethical conduct is beyond belief. My experiences were with an owner's son, Sales Manager, and Salesmen. All 3 LIED to me so artfully I didn't realize how badly I was burned till it was all over.

  • What we had been looking for

Purchased a 2011 CR-V from John D at Space Coast Honda. John was great, he knew all the answers, met every promise he made, and just a really pleasant person to deal with. The Honda CR-V is what we immediately had been looking for - meeting and exceeding all expectations. The CR-V which we purchased is performing very well in both city and highway driving situations. We love the interior space, and the car handles well in conditions that we experienced. We highly recommend John and Space Coast Honda if you're considering a Honda purchase. Thank you!

Special thanks to Fernando and the team at Space Coast Honda for quickly diagnosing an issue on my '08 Civic, ordering a part that arrived in a matter of days, and installing the part at the cost that I was initially quoted.
  • Technicians incapable of finding a dead battery in four hours.

I am giving this business a bad rating because their service department is deplorable. Representatives of the service department are frequently [violative content deleted]. They are more professional when they know sales representatives are watching them, but not much. [violative content deleted]. On a $200 service (in which I had waited at least four hours) they missed that I had a dead battery causing me to get stuck and miss an important appointment. I suspected a battery was the problem and called for assistance. The dealership told me I would have to schedule an appointment in a few days as they were booked! Another Honda dealership found the dead battery immediately, and replaced it the same day. Employees at McDonald's exhibit more common sense and professional courtesy than the service representatives at this dealership. You can count on being ignored and having to wait all day for a $34 service, even if you scheduled well in advance.

We made a deal with [another dealership] for a CR-V, but they were having trouble getting the car we wanted. Space coast Honda had the car we wanted in stock, so my wife and I drove down to see if we could make a deal with them. We had called ahead and they had the car waiting for us . We had them appraise our trade, a 2005 town and country. They offered us $2500.00 for the car and their best out the door price ended up about $ 3000.00 more than the deal [the other dealership] had made with us. [The other dealership] found us the same car in Atlanta, had it brought down and threw in 3 free oil changes for our trouble, all at $3000.00 less than the best deal Space Coast said they could do. It's your money, but I would shop around.
  • A very pleasant experience.

I went there to get a newly acuired 2003 Honda Accord checked out & serviced. The service representative was very friendly and knowledgeable. He had the service techs check the car out completely. They found a few things wrong with the car that I wasn't expecting. Even though the check-up & repairs added up to a bit more than I had anticipated, the extra attention to detail was very much appreciated as I had a long road trip ahead of me. A speaking of detail, I had them also do a complete detailing job on the car. It looked almost like new when I got it back ! I was happy.

  • Bought New 2014 Honda Accord LX

I was looking for a new reliable car to buy since I now have to commute to the Orlando Area every week or so. I stopped by and talked to a "Drew E", I told him that the new car that I wanted needed to be comfortable, economic, and stylish. As soon as I told him that, he said "let me show you the 2014 Honda Accord LX, I think you're going to love this car" and for a second there, I seriously doubted it because at the time, I had a 2000 Cadillac Deville, and it was the best to me, had a lot of leg room, it went fast, and it was very reliable. The only reason I wanted to get a new car was because of the gas my Cadillac wasted, but once Drew showed me just how well the 2014 Honda Accord fit the description of what I was looking for, I just had to get it. The second I got in the car for the test drive, I loved it. The space in the car was great (because I'm a big boy) and the was a lot of leg room in the back seat as well for when I want to go out with friends, the center console was not cluttered with the million buttons some new cars have, the computer on the dash acted very smooth compared to other cars that have them and I've tried, the car looks very slick and runs like a champ. I was worried how the car would perform switching from a V8 Engine to the Accord's, but when I drive my new car, I have no problems with performance and it actually feels better than my previous car. The brakes are very responsive; I don't even feel the gears shifting when I accelerate. The best part is that when I asked Drew about the features that the car had, he easily explained it to me and showed me videos on how those features worked, for example, when I asked him about why I didn't feel the car shifting gears, he told me that it was this "CVT" mechanism that the car had, and obviously, I still had no Idea what he was talking about, but then he showed me some videos on what thee CVT was and how it worked. I can sit here and keep adding more to the review, but let's just say, I've been going to a bunch of car dealerships lately to find a good car that would fit my interests and none of the other dealerships had what I wanted, and as soon as I got to Space Coast Honda, I found the one car that I wanted and needed.
  • Felt Cheated

The car was what I wanted. The price was good. I called to confirm the price and the "out the door price" based on the advertised price on cars.com and carguru.com adds by Space Coast Honda. I drove 3 hours to see the car and the salesman, Mark T ,was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and confirmed the price (marked on the car) and just a very plesant gentleman to deal with. Everything was fine till I began signing the purchasing papers with the finance person, John or Johnny. I don't read every word in a transaction like this. He explains what it is, I trust he is an honest businessman, I look it over to be sure, and sign it. After an hour of signing papers, John hands me another paper to sign and I scan it and notice that the purchase price has been increased by $500. When I question him about this, he goes out of the room to check something. He comes back with some explanation about extra cost for being a certified used car (2012 Honda Pilot). It was advertised on multiple internet car sites as being a Honda certified used car at the lower price. When I asked him if he would honor the advertised price, he left and came back and said no, take it or leave it. I then asked if he would make some other concession to split the difference, (I had already agreed to purchase the $1200 extended warranty) he said no and just sat there in silence. I bought the car because I would have done so had it been advertised at the higher price. But instead of a satisfying buying experience, I felt slimed by bait and switch, unethical sales practices by John the finance guy who represents Space Coast Honda. They advertised a certain car at a certain price, on multiple internet sites, confirmed the price over the phone, and then would not honor the price when you drive hundreds of miles to purchase the car. Unless you are skilled in negotiating with these types of business practices, and are willing to walk away after investing your time and money, I would not recommend doing business with Space Coast Honda.

I recently purchased a new Honda Civic at Space Coast Honda. My sales consultant Mike Kovacs was very helpful and honest. Mike took the time to answered all my questions. The finance manager John Demasso helped me get the best interest rate available. I would recommend Space Coast Honda to all my friends and family members.

I have owned 5 Honda vehicles over the last 8 years. Each has been service at Space Coast Honda religiously. The service staff is courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. Whether a scheduled appointment of a walk-in because of an unforeseen issue the staff takes the time to get it right. I continue to use Space Coast Honda for all my Honda vehicles as long as they continue to provide 5 star service. The only criticism I can offer is that the free customer coffee needs a rethink as it kind of sucks. I'm happy to bring my own.

I have purchased 5 vehicles from Space Coast Honda. I work strictly with Bob Miller, a long time salesman their. He has been a straight shooter with us and earned our respect and loyalty. In general the sales staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. We have had dealings on occasion with the Sales manager and other staff and feel we are not getting the run around or psycho sales tricks. Bob Miller is the best in my book and I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a Honda. Space Coast Honda changed management several years ago. The sales and service have been excellent since. I hesitate to go elsewhere as I feel I have about as good a relationship as I will ever have with a dealer and really don't want to risk being burned like I have in the past. Space Coast Honda has proven to be a low pressure, honest dealership. I go in after doing my homework and the info they provide matches up. I can't say that about other dealers unfortunately. I would recommend SCH to anyone and seek out Bob Miller if you want the best sales experience.

I just wanted to say thanks to Will K. & trainee, Mahlon for the excellent buying experience when I got my shiny new, blue, Honda Accord EX. I had visited other dealers & was not looking forward to the sales process, but you all (with the assistance of manage Al) made it pleasant, not painful. Thanks again, Pinky from down in south Brevard
  • Space Coast Honda blames Cars.com for dishonoring price

We saw an ad on Cars.com which had a header $22,991, and in the Sellers Terms and the Features section a price of $19,991. We emailed the dealership and were contacted by a Sales Rep. On Saturday, before we drove to Cocoa, we called this Sales Rep to confirm the lower price. He said 'that must be the price; sounds like you got yourself a deal." My husband told him we would be up there within the hour. We drove up to Cocoa and were immediately handed off to another Sales Rep. Before we even went for a test drive, we were asked about trade-in, down payment, credit score, and if we could make the deal that day. We said "yes". Then, we went for a test drive. We decided we wanted to pursue purchase, and handed the Sales Rep the printout from Cars.com. He grumbled saying that may be a problem. They came back with trade-in offer and monthly payment. They would not budge one dime on the sales price. They said that the original Sales Rep was new and that the lower price listed would not be honored. We left the dealership feeling like “don't let the door hit you on the way out”. My husband was very upset at the way we were treated since we called to confirm the lower price before driving up to the dealership. We didn't want to waste their time and ours, not to mention lost overtime pay and gas. He wrote an email that evening to the President and CEO. On Tuesday we received a call saying they would honor the price, but lowered our trade-in value by $500.00. We were passed off, yet again, to the "Internet Sales Manager" who my husband talked with on the phone that Tuesday evening. He assured us that if we came in and didn't make the deal, Space Coast Honda would pay for our gas. Since we didn't expect this, we told him that we would get in touch with him the next day. On Wednesday, my husband called the dealership and was told our Sales Rep was with a customer. We left our name, number and a message to call us back. No reply. My husband sent an email to this rep the next morning (Thursday) before he left for work asking him to contact him so they could work out a convenient time for us to come up to the dealership. We received no reply to our email. We, then, called the Dealership on Thursday night and were told that it was his day off. We asked to speak to his Manager, and his Sales Manager said he would call him at home. We received no reply that evening. The next day, Friday, around 11:00 AM, my husband finally gets a email message from the Sales Rep saying that someone put a deposit on the vehicle but he didn't know if the deal would go through and would call him after 12:00 PM to let him know. Then, my husband called and left a message on the Sales Rep cell phone asking him to call back and explain what was going on. We still hadn't heard anything by 5:30 PM that evening, so we called the Sales Rep. The vehicle was sold at the price they would not originally honor with us on Saturday. The Sales Rep ultimately blamed "Cars.com" for the posting the wrong sales price in the ad. Due to Space Coast Honda's questionable sales practices and poor treatment of potential customers, they have lost our business forever. We hope "Cars.com" takes notice of this complaint and is as offended as we are. We have filed a complaint with the BBB, and will post this message to any applicable website.
