by Wilma on 03/19/2022I could give this dealership a 0 then I would. Only reason I would give it a 1 would be because of the awesome sales rep Jayson. Came from an hour and a half away to see a vehicle, we were assisted by the sales rep Jayson who was very… professional and helpful. Decided to purchase the vehicle, got the out the door pricing, let them know that I already secured the financing thru my own bank. Had to leave due to a work meeting and spoke to one of the reps in financing and he advised that I could start the paperwork process and it would be ready by the time I would return in the evening to speed it up. Then that's when the nightmare started. When I returned in the evening (after driving an hour and a half again!) The process was supposed to resume. They requested a copy of my insurance information to make sure I had full coverage. However this time, instead of working with the same person in financing who was there earlier in the afternoon, we were met by the sales manager Lucas (who by the way gave me his card so that in his words I could "spell it right") Lucas then began to give us his explanation about how we could not drive away with the car because they needed to wait until their bank completely cleared the cashiers check from my bank and that they always do it this way. Uum as if this is my first time buying a car? I know that's a straight lie! Mind you, the car I was going to purchase was already considered used because the person it was originally sold to couldn't follow thru with the loan and had to return it after a few days and 500 miles later. (And that came directly from financing when they explained why the car was selling for the price it was.) When I said this, Lucas rudely said "well you were lied to!" Wow so now apart from being rude and unprofessional, you also want to put in question the integrity of not one but 2 of your coworkers including the financing reps?Doesn't give a good look to this dealership at all. He then proceeded to tell us that we didn't have to purchase from them. Well you are absolutely right about that! Do not waste your time even if you are local to this dealership because in Lucas' own words you don't need to purchase from them. Take your business elsewhere unless you are okay with wasting hours at a dealership who clearly doesn't want to sell a vehicle.Pleased
by Gabe Sr on 05/01/2020Found a decent newer car for my family at Glen Thomas. Had the privilege of working on the deal with a man named Luke. Luke was very professional, made the buying experience very pleasant. I didn't feel uncomfortable at any time. I was… also paired with a woman named Sonja, she showed me the car and answered any questions I had about the car. Before I pulled off the lot they were able to wash and detail my new car for me which was a nice gesture of them. Finished the deal with a woman named Alice in financing. Alice was very pleasant, proffesional and personable. My overall experience was and is a 10 out of 10. 5 stars. I've only had the car for a day. But the car looks and runs good. Hoping she doesn't give me any problems any time soon.Worst Customer Service - Received a Broken Car
by carowner124 on 11/30/2015Terrible experience, worst ever. Worst customer service from the top all the way down to the phone operator/receptionist. Brought my car in at 8am and waited until 1 only to be told there were 10 cars ahead of me (thanks for the heads up… Service Advisor!) and then when they finally return my car to me at 4PM!!! Two problems 1) It's not washed like they promised and worst of all 2) I find out the technician broke a plastic cover that goes on the inside of door of the driver's side. So now I have to return to the dealership from hell just to waste my time and gas again to have them repair what they broke. FYI: I was having my Radio, and Transmission serviced I had problems with it from the first month I bought the car new. AND my Service Advisor was Laura Capps (avoid her)!HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT
by justdown on 09/21/2010HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT- Took car in for repairs, not until late afternoon when I call it was learned that the car would need be in overnight. They indicated that they would have someone pick me up to get a loaner. 45 mins later they… said the person was in traffic and would be there shortly. 3 hours later I called said the guy went home and I would have to take a cab and that they were closing in 35 mins. I had to get a hotel room as I am not from LBO when I went to retrieve the car I waited for 10 mins went back the Cashier and asked how much longer it would be. She replied she forgot to tell the Porter. WOULD NOT RECOMMENDGreat Experience and Super Sales Team
by dirtynomad on 08/28/2010On August 12, 2010 my wife and I purchased a 2010 Ram 1500 at Glenn E. Thomas Dodge. I had already completed most of the details with their Internet Sales Manager, Brad Davis, before arriving at the dealership. Brad was prompt,… professional, and exceptionally responsive to my needs throughout the entire process. I told him I did not want to experience the typical car buying salesmanship and the games that go along with it. He far exceeded my expectations...a true professional. When I arrived at the dealership I worked with Brad's associate Steve. Again, another class act. He attended to my needs, was professional, and did his best to make us comfortable. We were there for several hours...he attended to us and never left us hanging. Michelle in finance has us in and out in nothing flat. My only con on the dealership is the old school closer approach. The sales manager will come out to negotiate with you and the tactics are very old school. At one point I almost told the guy he was [violative content deleted]. After he ran my credit report, and verified the internet add information I had brought with me, his tune changed. Great people and a great experience!Unprecedented Service
by benjaminak on 07/30/2008We received unprecedented service from Glen E. Thomas Dodge in Long Beach through the entire purchase of our truck. They took the time to listen to our specific needs and recommended the car that was the best fit for what we wanted and… required, even putting in extra work to match us with our favorite color. I am a loyal customer for life, Ben KingWOW a scrupulous car dealer
by demon72 on 05/04/2008100% satisfaction found here.... top notch team from salesman to sales manager to finance guy. I would recomend Glenn Thomas Dodge to anyone within a hundred mile radius or more even. I am located about 60 miles from them but it was WELL… worth the drive... looked at local dealers and felt like I was being railroaded etc etc etc.... not at Glenn Thomas. NEVER have I had a good experiance buying a car, till now. Thank you team at Glenn Thomas for a very pleasurable and exciting experiance purchasing a car.Over rated service department and expensive
by polecat on 12/06/2007I had been taking my truck to Glenn E Thomas Dodge in Long Beach for years. The work always got done and things seemed to work out right but I always felt things were a bit expensive. Also I did not feel that the knowledge was what I would… term 5-star. They made a fair amount of guesses over the years and fixed things that weren't the problem at quite a cost to me. I think their idea of 5-star service has more to do with making donuts and a taxi service home available than it does to actual service. Last time I took my truck in they had it for over a month because of some body work they farmed out. Everytime I called the service guy vibed me like I was bothering him because I was just trying to find out a status report. Then when I finally did go to pick it up it was filthy and the workmanship of the repairs were less than stellar. At least I did not feel it was 5-star care. On top of that they wrote the bill up wrong and shorted themselves quite a bit of cash. Plus everyone was acting totally weird about my truck as if it was my fault and I left it there for so long. I felt totally uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of there. Next day the service guy starts calling me and leaving me messages on my voice mail about calling him back but he doesn't say why. I don't get back to him very fast because I was slammed at work. It turns out he wants his money that he didn't properly add up on the invoice and now he is vibeing me like it's my fault. That was it. I paid and I'll never go back or buy a Dodge again. [violative content deleted] those [violative content deleted]! If that's Dodge's idea of a 5-star dealer, I'll go elsewhere. Probably to a Toyota. [non-permissible content removed] The younger gals were all very pleasant and tried to help.Great Sales Experience
by 50fastback on 07/20/2007In March of 2005, I bought a brand new 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab from Glenn E. Thomas Dodge in Long Beach. I used Edmunds to research the vehicle and knew exactly what style and options I wanted. My husband and I arrived around 8pm,… and drove away in exactly the truck we wanted by 10pm, which included looking at a few models and taking a test drive. The salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable and we didn't feel pressured. The financing department quickly approved us for 0% financing. We had no idea the process would be so easy, that we'd get such a good deal, and that we'd drive home in the truck that night. We've had the truck a little over two years now and still love it.Lack of Service Review at Glenn E. Thomas Dodge
by 50fastback on 07/20/2007While my sales experience was very positive at Glenn E. Thomas Dodge, I have had been extremely frustrated with their service department. I live in Torrance, CA which is about a 20 minute drive from the dealership. Unfortunately, at the… time I bought my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, there was no closer dealer. When I bought the truck, the salesman assured me that it was best to bring the truck back to the dealer's service department for Oil changes. The price was competative, and they'd even throw in a free car wash. Sounded like a great deal. Unfortunately, they don't take appointments for oil changes, and the slots fill up fast, especially on Saturdays. Here is a summary of my attempts to get oil change service: 1. Arrived at 9 am, received my car back about 90 minutes later, but it was washed. 2. Arrived at 12noon, was told that they were full for the day, and I'd have to come back another day. I told the service writer that I was near my mileage requirement for the warranty. He assured me it would be okay to go a little over (this wasn't the message I got from the service writer at my first appointment, where I was within 20 miles of "3,000". He told me I almost "voided my warranty." 3. Called at 11 am to see if there were any open slots before I drove 20 minutes to the dealership. The service writer said yes, and to bring the truck down. Arrived at 11:30am, no slots left. Was turned away. I told the service writer that I called and that I was upset. That I was left with no choice but to take my truck to Jiffy Lube. He said that technically he wasn't allowed to say so, but that if I got a receipt from Jiffy Lube I could take it there instead. I now have 13,000 miles on my truck and have gotten the last few oil changes and minor services elsewhere. The dealership calls me at least once a week leaving messages on my machine about "welcome back promotions" for oil changes. Until they let me schedule and appointment, or I need a major repair under my warranty, I'll take my service business elsewhere.Fantastic Experience
by steve368 on 05/24/2011updated 06/12/2025There is an excellent reason why the Glenn E. Thomas Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep dealership has been in business for over 100 years. by rasec2060 on 12/10/2012updated 06/12/2025Well The sale team is good and will treat you well to sell you a new car.But the Service Dept is something else! They dont care if you have to get to work, they do a poor job on your car that you have to bring it back the next day.Yes they… will fix it again, but who has the time to bring it back again, for the same repair work? If you have the time and don't have a job,Okay, you can maybe waste your time their waiting. But if your time is worth something this is the wrong place to get service. They do a good job to sell you a new car but do a poor job fixing your new car.We are sorry you did not have a great experience with our service department. They are extremely well-known in the community for stellar customer service. We want to correct any imperfections in our process to make sure you spend the least amount of time possible while waiting for you vehicle to get repaired. If you wouldn't mind sending us an email or giving us a call, please ask for John Davis General Manager or Tom Bonnstetter Service Manager. We would like to look into this further. Thank You! Our customer feedback is always appreciated.
Thanks Danny!
by topb on 04/27/2011updated 06/12/2025I negotiated a deal for my parents on a 2011 Dodge Durango, I used Edmunds.com to get a dealers quote and I got an email back from Danny Castillo within minutes. I called him and gave me an outstanding price over the phone, a couple of… thousand dollars less than I was expecting. I told him I had other dealers working my sale too and he said to continue with my search and to call him back because he knew his price was the lowest. After six other dealers refused to give me a price, tried just to get me in the dealership or gave me an MSRP price. I called Danny back. No games, no hidden costs, and the vehicle was there waiting for us when we got there. Outstanding experience with Mr. Castillo. Now Finance was a different story. They tried to push a service contract through the dealership and not the extended warranty that Chrysler/Dodge offers. When I called their trick the finance person questioned me whether I knew the difference between a service contract and warranty was. Finally she pulled out the Chrysler extended warranty and said that the salesmen were not allowed to sell the Chrysler warranty only the finance dept. Were so sorry for the initial confusion regarding the service contract. It sounds like everything was worked out and we hope it was done in a way that left you with a smile. Danny Castillo is a great team member at GET and we are all very pleased to have you as a part of the GET family! Thanks :)
Wonderful Experience, Wonderful Dealership!
by lmt2 on 01/23/2012updated 06/12/2025Purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon from Glenn E Thomas over the weekend. What a wonderful experience. Customer service from Mark Myers (salesman) and Lori (in financing) was top notch! ALL the staff that worked there were smiling and… courteous - a far cry from Motor Village LA - the dealership that drove me away with their chauvinism and condescending customer "relations" (I refuse to call what I experienced at Motor Village LA "service"). The Glenn E Thomas staff treated me with respect, as an educated consumer should be. I experienced complete transparency from the sales staff when it came to negotiating the price - as it should be. Best car buying experience I've ever had by far. Even the parts and service department was prompt - there was an extra part (tubular steps) I wanted added below the doors of my new Wrangler. While one employee went to check if they had the part in stock, another told me that if it wasn't available now, they would schedule a service appointment for me to come back in three days to install the part. The parts were actually in stock though, and they put them right on my car. Do your research on pricing, value of trade in, etc. They will listen to you and not haggle about the price. Overall, a great dealership, with top notch customer service. These folks cater to the customer experience - they even have their own Jeep enthusiast off-roading club!Thank you! GET is all about taking care of our customers and ensuring everything is handled in the best way possible. We understand how frustrating the car buying process can be at times, so we always try to take that worry off your plate! Thanks again and welcome to the family!
Great Service!
by socals on 09/19/2012updated 06/12/2025I was in talks with a few dealership before I received an email from Kurt Oldenburg. After he quoted me a price (quite a bit cheaper than some of the dealerships I was in talks with) I shopped it around to the other dealerships and got the… typical responses like, "Well, when you want a real quote call me" and, "They are going to get you down there everything's going to change." I even got a, "I would buy it at that price!" response. I explained to Mr. Oldenburg that I was a hour away (with no traffic) and that if I came down there to get a car and the price changed that I would be walking out, no renegotiating. I got down there and it was a quick deal. The price was what we talked about and there was none of the typical nonsense that I have experienced in the past with other dealerships. Finance was a breeze and over within 15 minutes. Overall a great experience! My only complaint was how long it took them to wash and get gas in the car! Not a big deal when I got the deal I got though. I would highly recommend checking out this place and giving Mr. Oldenburg a chance to quote you a price! We realize that customers #1 frustration is the lengthy process of buying a car at some dealerships. As you experienced, we make it a point to make sure customers get exactly what they want and do so in a timely manner. Welcome to the GET family, we hope to see you again soon!
Steve, we really appreciate you taking the time to write such a great review about our dealership. Our +100 years as a dealership has always been about family, honesty and an unimaginable car buying experience! We would love to take anyone out in their Jeep for a ride at some of the amazing spots weve been going to for decades!
