I was recommended by a few people to Superstition Springs Honda but they must have had a much different experience than I did. We had a good experience with the saleman at first but once we told them that we did want to look at a few more dealers but still wanted to know what price they were willing to give us they just beat around the bush and refused to quote us anything. Then the finance guy came out and was pushy and extremely rude. I work in customer service and I cannot imagine ever speaking to a customer that way and if an employee of mine did I would walk them out the door. They also first quoted us more on a used vehicle than we bought a brand new one for 10 miles away. On top of this they called us 3 times within 3 hours that night. Word to the wise...if someone tells you they dislike your tactics and storms out of your doors you don't call them 3 times! We ended up buying a vehicle from another Honda dealer that day and it is a shame because they have been able to beat the price we got but I would rather pay a little more to not give someone like that my business.

  • Honda of superstition spring dealership are horrible!!

OMG.. where do i start, this is my first time buying a car so i went in a little blind.! First, they wouldn't let me leave until i signed something i felt so pressured i caved. and just did it to leave then i went in the next day to check out the rest of the car. the guy doug was very nice, he showed me the car BUT then he passed me to Eddie he did the paper work. he said i only had to do 1,000 down, i did all the paper work, got insurance and everything, they told the car total was 10,000 including tax and titles, sale price was 8,450 so i was like ok that fine. So, i leave with my new car! very happy with the car and i loved the car. But then i went in a week later to 500 more down so my payments would lower, And oh my gosh, eddie sat me down and said he needed 1,500 more besides the 1,500 i already gave them or he was taking the car. so i told him i told have the money that i could give him 500 every two week when i get paid. he look at the computer he turned the computer so i could see it and said look the car is worth 7,000 and bank will only give you 9,200. so you have to put the rest down. then the price on the car said 11,118 and after taxes and stuff 12,somthing that's why they needed 3,00 down. so out of his own words he said " We were changing you to much" , I was just shoked and upset. i told i don't have the money. he said he need the keys. i was like okay but how do i get home. i ask can i take the car home tonight and drop it off tomorrow he said no. we will drop you off. i was just okay fine. the sad thing is i fill the tank before i went. and i ask will you give me my money back for filling the tank because it was only half filled when i took it. he said no. It's a week later they don't answer my phone calls and won't return my messages finally i had to have my mom call and she got the manager on the phone she told me we will call you when we finish the paper work then we will give you the difference. i talk to him on tuesday and it's now thursday still no call back about getting my downpayment back.. I you get a car there Be Very Careful they are [violative content deleted]! and i regret ever going there and i hope nobody will ever have to go through what i'm going through with them!

  • Stereotypes of the worst car salesman and dishonesty can be found here

1 out of 5 starsby wordsworth on 06/14/2009

I had read over the years about how pushy and crooked car dealers were meant to be, but until I had the misfortune to drop by Superstition Springs Honda had not had these experiences with other dealers before. Salesman told me that the Fit Sport was not upgraded with anything to do with performance and handling and only contained some cosmetic upgrades and that remote keyless entry was only available on both the Sort and base ans a separate $700 option. There was no literature or show cards avaialable in the showroom to verify any of this. It turned out that this was just not true, as the Sport model came with the remote door locks as std and also included a rear anti roll bar and wider lower profile, i.e better performing tires also as standard. I was outright lied to, and finished up being conned by these people, basically because I failed to do my homework properly before going to this dealer. Had I done so I would never have gone there. The Finance department was overly pushy as I had told the salesmen that I was not interested in an extended warranty, nor a polish job. I should have walked out when the finance dept tried to high pressure me with these items, I regret that I did not. The car that was "delivered" after I had signed the papers did not drive the same nor was it mechanically identical to the car I test drove. I asked the dealer what it would take to get a similar car to the test drive model and they would call me, but never did! I have complained to Honda about these unethical sales practices, but have had no response. Obviously I will never buy another Honda ever again. If you still want to take a chance and visit them, do some research first ,as they seem to have built up more customer bad will in the short time that they have been operating than any other car dealer in the area. Pros: Absolutely none Cons: unethical, dishonest, uncommunicative, bad Honda buying experience, pushy, manipulative, etc

  • PUSHY AND RUDE SALES GUY AT SS HONDA

1 out of 5 starsby annelisejensen on 04/19/2009

We went in to look and possibly test drive a Honda Fit. This incredibly pushy salesman ended up putting us in a Hyundai Sonata to test drive and also a Honda Civic. We never even test drove the Honda Fit because he didn't want to. He was constantly asking us questions about our finances, how we were going to pay, our budget, etc. We politely told him that we weren't at that point yet, we were simply wanting to gather information about a few different cars before making our decision. He was incredibly rude and offensive.

I went to purchase a vehicle and was given the keys after the whole paperwork process and haggling the price down. We drove home and after 5 days found out we needed to give another $2000 down on top of our $3000 or we would have to give car back. Well we gave the car back and then they charged us their cancellation fee. We never were told about a fee, never signed any agreement, never was told that we were not financed, and never will buy or recommend from these guys again!

  • Pushy

I know it's their job to sell cars, but they won't take No for an answer. We went in to ask about a lease deal we saw online, but it turned out to not be quite what we expected. We had a budget and asked if the minivan we wanted would fit within our budget. They went into wheel and deal mode, and tried to show us how we could spend more than our budget and get the car we wanted. We looked at a used car for a little while, but changed our minds, since we were only there to look at the lease deal. They were polite during our visit - the salesman was helpful. But when he brought his manager in, the manager wouldn't let us leave. We were there for over 2 hours and needed to get back to our kids. We went in with a simple question and could not get a straight answer from them. To make it worse, over the next 72 hours, we got 4-5 calls from the dealership. I had committed to call or contact them in a couple days after we had thought about the offer they were making. But after this and taking one of the calls from their customer service, I felt fulfilled in my commitment. I went in on a family recommendation. Since then we've both realized that they were taken advantage of as well, getting into a car they shouldn't try to afford.

Superstition Springs Honda 6229E Auto Park Dr. Mesa Az. I won an Online auction for a SUV Isuzu Trooper and then the dealership did not honor my winning bid because they had a secrete reserve price that nobody was aware of. The starting price they sat was 1500.00 and the winning price was 1950.00 The dealership called to say that I won the SUV but within a hour later a manager called me and told me NO we have a reserve on it so I did not win. I ask why did you start the bidding out at 1500.00 and I could not get an answer from the manger. How dishonest is that. Please reconsider any dealings with this dealership because they are out to turn a fast buck at your expense. Dealer Fraud, Bait and switch, what every you call it.. • Excellent experience with Jimmie Bryant at SSH

5 out of 5 starsby zonamon on 04/09/2008

I contacted three Honda dealers in my area, which is East of Central Ave. in Phoenix. My favorite dealer, Honda Cars of Mesa (now SanTan Honda) moved south 14 miles to the SanTan freeway. The salespersons at both Superstition Springs Honda and SanTan Honda treated me very well, and responded to my email shopping without fail. The reason I bought from Jimmie Bryant at Honda of Superstition Springs was that his price was the lowest, and when I asked him a question, he never did try to B.S. me. I signed the paperwork, and drove off the lot in my beautiful, gorgeous Bold Beige Mettalic 2008 Honda Accord! I think that this car is a better car than my four-holer Buick Lucerne Northstar (can't see the gauges), or my DeVille (depreciation is abhorrent) I LOVE THIS CAR!!! It's the same color as the dust down here, so I'll never have to wash it!!! You all can reach Jimmie at: [violative content deleted] Orvin S.
  • Rude

I dont know why this dealership is consistently rude but they are. I went in twice to buy a new Odyssey and left both times with a bad taste for this dealership. The first time there were three sales people talking when we pulled up. None of them said hi- so we walked around the lot for 30 minutes and still no one came to help. As we were leaving one of the three sales people who were still talking to each other looked up and said "Can I help you?" I said no- but you could have 30 minutes ago and we left. I thought maybe that was a fluke so we made the dumb mistake of going back... Maybe this dealership trains their sales people to be rude to smart, educated, prepared, highly qualified buyers. We couldnt find the car we were looking for on the lot so the sales man kept pushing for us to fill out a contract on a phantom car. I told him we wouldn't fill out a contract unless there was a specific car identified that we were buying. He didn't like that and got rude with us. As we were leaving I asked him if he would like my phone number so he could call and let us know that they found the car we were looking for. He said - I am too busy to call you. If you want to buy a car from me you can call me. Here is my phone number." Simply amazing. End of the story- went to Tempe Honda and bought the Odyssey. They are much nicer, know more about the cars, have similar pricing and not very far away.

excellent purchasing process. Worked with Phillip S, the Internet Sales Manager. No hard sell, I emphasized what was important to me and he matched me, no attempt to upsell to a larger/more expensive Honda. He's a keeper!

I had gone looking for a rare red accord coupe, and paid a hefty amount of cash advance after being promised they would get it for me, even when I was ready to leave. I completed all the paperwork, to find out next day that the commitment was not honored. They told me to get the money back, but there is something like commitment. They wasted hours of mine and expectations only to fail on them later. Dont trust these guys they are cheap.

First time buying a new car. Salesmen John and Brad were very helpful and offered pros and cons for the different vehicles we were looking at. I had already had my mind set on getting a 2013 Honda Insight. It is a great choice for my husband and I at this time. Everyone at the dealership was helpful and courteous. The transaction was smooth and there was no pressure at any point. Thank you Honda of Superstition!

  • Beware

Update The issues with the purchase of the CRV are ongoing and unresolved as of August 8, 2013. After purchasing 4 vehicles successfully, I feel they have lost their customer service and although they may have earned my business in the past, they have changed their business ethics, BEWARE. Promises My family has purchased 4 vehicles from Honda of Superstition Springs (SSH) but when I purchased my 5th vehicle had some options installed. I went back to pick up the vehicle and it has had some difficulties .Have been working with SSH for 4months to resolve these issues and was getting very discouraged. Hate to have a car with issues. Today, Chris Z called me to resolve issues with the vehicle. Z has committed to make sure everything is fixed. Z assured me that he prides himself on having customers that come back to SSH for repeat purchases. Looking forward to working with SSH to resolve the remaining issues and enjoy have a reliable and dependable. In this economy finances are tough for most of us it is reassuring to me for a dealer such as Honda of Superstition Springs keep their commitments to their customers. Will keep you posted. Now My family has purchased 4 vehicles from Honda of Superstition Springs (SSH) but when I purchased my 5th vehicle it could be my last purchase from them. Had some options installed and when I went back to pick up the vehicle they had me sign paperwork without having me test drive the CRV. The tire pressure monitor was on, and I had to go back at least 6 times before they resolved the issue. It had to do with using Accord wheels on a CRV but not installing the sensors correctly. Also the oil life was not reset, so the manager had to reset it manually. Now it appears there is an electrical issue with the odometer and the door actuators are toggling when I drive the CRV. Had a sunroof installed but it is causing vibrations which make me sick to my stomach and feel as if I will vomit. These vibrations from the sunroof can weaken the structure inside the cabin of the car. I let Chris Z know about these problems at the dealership. It has taken 4 months to get the tire sensors changed; now there is an electrical problem and door locking problems. I asked to trade out of the vehicle. They wanted an additional $5000 for a few months of depreciation on a 2008 Honda CRV which seems excessive to me. My father owned a furniture store, dry cleaning business, and started the credit union in my hometown which was a town of about 3000. My Dad always told me to take good care of his customers because if you take good care of your customers they would always come back. I really believe my Dad knew the secret to stay in business. In this economy finances are tough for most of us. Before Just purchased my 4th car on Monday from Superstition Springs Honda and it is the best one yet! From the Honda dealer, purchases include: 2 Toyotas, 1 Hyundai, and now a Honda CRV. It was funny how I ended up at a Honda dealer to purchase a Toyota the first time. I went to the dealer where I bought my Toyota Rav4 and wanted to trade the RAV4 for a Toyota Highlander. The dealer would not take my car as a trade because the sticker on the engine was in the wrong place. So, I went to the grand opening of Superstition Springs Honda who had a Toyota Highlander in the color I wanted. I drove the Highlander, and then told Tim the salesperson I wanted to buy it. I was taken to see Chris Zamora to finalize my offer. Z was very professional, courteous, and made me a better deal than I ever expected! The car was great and I did not have any problems with it. Tough financial times hit in 2008. I could not afford the car payment any longer. I had to get a lower car payment. I went to other dealers who did not want to sell me a less expensive car. So I went back to Superstition Springs Honda. I had a positive experience with Chris Z when I bought my 1st car, so I asked to speak to him again. Z talked to me, and then helped find me another good used Toyota. It was a car within my budget, and it did not matter to him that I was shopping for a Toyota at the Honda dealership. I purchased the Toyota Matrix was able to get a smaller car payment. I drove the Matrix for over 40,000 miles, no problems, and really enjoyed the features of the car. I decided to trade the Toyota Matrix but due to changes in cars, I decided to buy a Honda CRV. Chris Z was glad to assist me again and helped me pick out a great used car that would meet my needs and budget. Z also helped pick out my son’s 1st car to commute to college. At Superstition Spring Honda, Z and his staff treat me and my son like family. They have assisted me in getting me in 4 cars over the years so I can have excellent dependable transportation which works within my budget. I am truly glad I found Superstition Springs Honda.

Contacted three local Honda dealers by phone to get a quote for 2012 EX-L. Kenny, the Internet Sales Manager at Superstition was the only one to give me a quote on the vehicle I requested rather than the one they wanted to sell to me. He provided accurate info regarding cap cost and residual percentage that scaled based on the LX numbers provided in the year-end lease deal. When I told Kenny I was going to come back later to pick the car up with my wife, he offered to deliver the van to my house even after the sale was basically secured except for signatures(Totally unexpected). I purchased the Honda Care extended warranty during the finance stage that includes all scheduled oil changes, 12,000 extended Honda warranty, tire repair/replacement and AAA like service for 3 years mostly because I do not have AAA and ended up replacing all 4 tires on my previous 3-year lease. Arizona is rough on tires. I do not usually like to purchase add-on warranties, however, The warranty details were presented in a positive manner w/out undo pressure by Koushi, out finance guy. I you are a person like me that likes to do all your research of vehicle selection and fair pricing online and basically use the dealer just to process the transaction, then Kenny at Superstition is your guy.

This past weekend I purchased a new Honda Odyssey from Kenny at Superstition Springs Honda. As the title says, it was the best car buying experience I've ever had. I contacted Kenny thru email and we conversed over several days as he answered my questions about options, etc. He was extremely quick in answering my questions. When I was ready to buy, he gave me a detailed quote with all of the options I wanted and gave me a final "out the door" price. When we showed up the following day, the car was ready and so was the paperwork. Within about an hour everything was finalized and they handed us the keys. Every commitment he made was fulfilled and the price he quoted me was what I paid. No gimmicks, no surprises. Exactly how a car buying experience should be. I've owned Hondas for over 15 years and when I need another one, I'm calling Kenny. Thanks guys!

Worst and oldest trick in the book. Kept "looking" for my keys until the other dealership I mentioned I wanted to go to was closed. Sat there for an hour while one guy beat me to death with offers, and the other "looked for those darn keys".[violative content deleted]. When will you learn that we are not that stupid. Others will read and drive on. Drove across street and paid cash. Would have bought a 1947 DeSoto Convertible just to show Honda who's Boss. Learn, Honda. We're fed up and we wont take this anymore. You deserve to be closed. I look forward to buying anything BUT a Superstition Springs Honda. I'm ugly, not Stupid.
