Painless process
by TacomaTruck on 03/24/2018Walked in knowing what I was looking for, was not steered towards anything but exactly what I wanted. In and out of the finance office in under five minutes. I'll go back for my next truckCar buying experience
by Mamabear11 on 01/13/2018I went in to the Toyota of Pullman to see what I would be wanting to buy for the upcoming year for my growing family. I worked with Chris Locken and he made my experience very stress free and answered any and all questions or concerns I… had. I will definitely be buying from him and would refer him to anyone looking to buy a new or used vehicle!Exceptional
by Exceptional on 06/11/2017Toyota of Pullman is one of the best dealerships around, they always go above and beyond to help you get what you need. I have bought three cars from them and I will continue going back to them.Positive experience
by Hscott_11 on 01/31/2017I had a very easy-going and helpful appointment with one of the salesmen who made sure I was not getting anything I wasn't ready for or wanting. I would recommend this dealership to others looking for an honest price and positive atmosphereShady tactics and unapologetic
by H_Kleiner on 06/23/2016Here is our experience buying a used car at Toyota of Pullman. We bought a 2001 Toyota Avalon with very low miles for the age. The Avalon was a smoker car that had been fumigated several times. Service, when we took it in said: "Oh that… car is back again"? In the end they sold us a smoker car without any mention of the same. The smell was not noticeable until the car had sat in the sun the day after we purchased it. They covered it up well enough for when we drove it. Misrepresentation is what I call that. When we called them on the smoke, they would only take the car back at trade in value, so we lost another 4-5k in two days. Then, when they wrote up the final contract for the Malibu purchased as a replacement, they miscalculated the warranty pay off, and so we were forced to sign a new sales document with no apologies other than taking 120 off the warranty. This was a 3000 dollar error. Therefore what we thought was a 23,000 loan, actually turned into 26,000, with no recourse except to take the additional loan. We would have looked for a better deal had we known the final numbers. Lastly they do not mention the "out the door" price until you have signed the credit application and they ran everything. It all goes so quickly that they sweep you up in the moment.Don't buy here, they play games with you
by toyotafanwsu on 02/04/2016Went in to buy a new Corolla. When we sat down to discuss price, the salesman quoted me a price that was higher than the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. Said there was "just no margin in these cars." Never offered me a lower price,… and also tried to sell me body undercoating and bunch of other items I didn't need. Ultra high-pressure. I had done the research and knew a fair price for the car, so I walked. Went to another local Toyota dealer and got a terrific deal in just a few minutes.Don't buy from these guys
by donnied3 on 09/15/2015I bought a pre-owned car from Toyota of Pullman. I take care of my disabled sister. We needed a vehicle for dr appointments & just to get my sister out of town once in awhile. I am 52 years old,and thought I could see a con. But I have… never been so mistreated & ripped off. I am beside myself, I was lied to, taken advantage of & threatened with arrest & jail because I attempted to return the car 2 days later. I was told I wouldn't pay above retail blue book. I was charged $1,600 over! I told them the vehicle was for a disabled person and that went unheard! This was my sister's money and it was every dime she had. I was told the car was checked out top to bottom. Since then they have had to fix a burnt out headlight & door lock. Issues they refuse to fix are hood hydraulics, blown speaker, burnt out tail light & cracked headlight cover. I don't believe the car was inspected. I hope this complaint lowers their rating. They are so dishonest they should not be in business. Of course, I blame myself for wasting my sister's money. Just never thought a salesman could lie so well and would cheat a disabled woman. I sure hope they feel good about themselves! Anyone considering of buying from them should look elsewhere!Honest and Fair
by dave1981 on 09/05/2015I did a lot of shopping around before I decided to buy and I knew what a fair price for the truck I wanted was. These guys are honest and fair. I'm very satisfied.Excellent Customer Care
by bigmomma4 on 09/04/2015When my car broke down on the way to my appointment they sent someone to pick me up! I got a great deal and they didn't take advantage of my desperate situation. That says a lot about their integrity if you ask me!Fair deal
by Tmc76 on 08/09/2015I was skeptical after reading the reviews but found that after educating myself on the vehicle I was interested in and knowing my financing options, I had no problem getting a fair deal. No one should be surprised when a salesman has a… sales pitch or a "hook", that's business, as is making a profit. As long as you're above average intelligence and go in prepared you should walk out happy! I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership and their sales team. I am very happy with my lease.James Toyota Pullman deceptive practices
by C_Mallett on 05/01/2015Listed price of vehicle on Craigslist at $9995 but at closing had raised the price by $1000 (retail price, not actually their costs) to cover"extensive work" they put into the vehicle and refused to honor price. I accepted a price higher… than advertised against my better judgement....as I was going to get a refund on my down payment at the cashier window. Less than two weeks later, I found it had a blown head gasket. Previous owner told the dealership about rough running and the dealership received the vehicle with low radiator fluid. While they pressure tested the coolant system for leaks, they never investigated where the coolant went or why vehicle was running rough. None of the repairs made would have any impact on the rough running condition. The trade in value according to former owner was $4000 and I bought it for $10,500 way over book price with expectations it was in sound mechanical shape along with the excellent exterior appearance. The reason I paid way over book value is because it was a one owner 1993 toyota pickup SR5 with 79,301 miles. The estimate for repairs given by the dealership is $2800. They refuse to lower the profit on this transaction to help remedy the defects. I have offered to pay the cost of new hoses, belts, and other incidental materials at dealership cost. This dealership engages in deceptive advertising and in my situation is insisting on maintaining $5500 profit, while sticking me with the defect charges. I expect them to make a profit, but not have me add to their profitability on this repair. The dealer claims it was an unfortunate oversight, or happened after I took possession, but a qualified mechanic would ask where the coolant went if there are no leaks, would have investigated the rough running, noticed the heater not working and seen the gray smoke pouring out the back. They also give you the run around as you try to resolve issues. You cannot get in touch with someone that can make a decision, only someone who will pass your messages onto the "principles." The hassle I've gone through and lack of customer care is deplorable. I would give them a zero on helping make customers happy when there is a problem. If you're looking for straight forward pricing and customer service if you encounter a problem, this is not the place. If you want shady car sales tactics.....false advertising, refuse to honor listed price, your salesman pretenting to fight with the boss for a lower price and waiting until you physically go up to the window to cancel the transaction, and still not offer the advertised price......and heaven forbid you have a problem and want to be screwed again, get the run around, then this is the place for you.unethical
by msdrfanning on 02/06/2015I called this dealership on 2/2/15 at about 1500 and asked about the 2000 Ford Expedition they had listed online. I was told the price was $9995 and there was about 120,000 miles on it. The salesman told me he would email me the… information. By 0845 on 2/3/15 I hadn't heard anything so I called the dealership again. Chris, the salesman I spoke with, said the vehicle was about $8000 and had about 118,000 miles on it. At about 0915, I received an email and call from salesman Phillip Getting with the previously requested information. The email said the vehicle had gotten new brakes and was listed for $10900. At 1530, we called Phillip and asked about the price. We told him we had $6460 to spend and that had to include tax and licensing. He asked about financing and we said no. He said he would speak with his manager and call back. When he called back he asked how soon we could be there. We explained that we live in Spokane and would not be there until almost 1900. We clarified that the price was going $6460 out the door and he said yes. We drove from Spokane to the dealership. Phillip had left, the vehicle wasn't ready to be driven and no one would honor the price that we were quoted. The vehicle was not in the condition I was told it was in either. When I told them I would file a complaint with the BBB, they said they didn't care, they weren't members. They refused to let me talk to the general manager and the sales manager told me they would not honor the price I had been quoted. I am very concerned about the way this dealership is representing Toyota. After I left, I looked at reviews of the dealership online and this seems to be a common theme with them. I have already filed my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and told all of the family and friends that live in the area about the experience. I also lodged a complaint with the Toyota corporation.Uncomfortable Experience, Mediocre Deal
by ToyotaFanWSU on 09/09/2013updated 08/30/2025Leasing through this dealership was the most unpleasant car purchase I have ever experienced. I left the dealership seriously unsure whether I was treated fairly. I came to see a car that was advertised on their web site for around $16,700… as the "Straight to the Point Price." My salesman was great, I loved the car, and the price was competitive. I have excellent credit. But when I told them I wanted to lease, everything changed. All of a sudden the price of the car jumped to more than $18,000! No negotiation on vehicle price whatsoever. It was strictly take it or leave it. I was shown a tiny yellow printout with a bunch of cryptic abbreviations I could barely read. No one explained any abbreviations to me (except my payment amount) unless I pressed for information. When I pressed, I found that more than $1000 in charges for "Gap" and "body undercoating" were added on with no explanation, and without my permission. If I had not asked questions, I would have automatically been charged for these "recommended" items. They finally eliminated Gap when my wife and I were ready to walk out. I paid for "body undercoating" after the salesman convinced us it was important in a lease. I have since found out it is unnecessary. The final lease contract showed the vehicle at an "agreed upon price" of $18,835. Which is more than full MSRP. The negotiation process was bizarre. My salesman had to keep making long trips up front to some mysterious group at the front desk who would call his name over the loudspeaker, but never talked with me directly. Very awkward and uncomfortable. Ultimately, I did get the payment amount and lease term I wanted,, so I accepted the car. The finance guy offered little explanation of what we were paying or why. Just "sign here, sign here..." When I got home, I noticed our PO Box number was missing and called back to give him the information so that our documents would arrive correctly. His response was an annoyed "Did you tell your salesman that?" (Yes, I watched him put it in the system) , and after a pause, a reluctant "Yeah, I'll take care of it..." I never heard back from him, and our documents arrived without the address correction. Then they sat me down and coached me on what to put on Toyota's follow-up survey. The staff seemed very nervous about getting anything less than a perfect score. The final straw was that I e-mailed the General Manager with my concerns, and he never responded personally. He did have a sales rep follow-up to explain the pricing. I received an OK deal, but nothing special. The fact that the General Manager cannot be bothered to respond to a concerned customer tells me all I need to know.
