UPDATE: Buyer Beware
by Jeff B on 10/22/2024Brandon Tomes Subaru was able to resolve the purchase price and key fob issues mentioned in my previous review. More importantly, Justin (one of the managers) called and expressed sincere concern about how things were handled and intently… listened as to why the experience was frustrating. I am thoroughly convinced that trouble areas have been addressed and that my experience was an unfortunate one-off, and not the normal customer experience. I am really grateful for that phone call and for that reason, I would definitely consider purchasing from Brandon Tomes Subaru in the future. I would remove the 1 star review if Edmunds allowed it and my hope is that anyone reading reviews for this dealer will used my updated rating as the accurate reflection of this dealer.Buyer Beware!
by Jeff B on 10/18/2024It’s unfortunate I have to give 1 star. Buyer beware, after they make the sale they act like they don’t even know you. I was charged (they stole) $500 additional hidden in the purchase price. Additionally, they waited until after all… paperwork was complete to inform me that they only had one key fob (an $800 inconvenience for me). That’s not the worst part. I have tried numerous times to reach my sales rep Curtis and also the finance department. They refuse to call back. I have spoken with 3 managers - Jose, Jeff and Justin, who all said they would address my concerns. None of them have done a thing and will not return calls. It has been over a month. This is a horrible business model of what a service industry should be. I will go out of my way to let others know, especially my large employer of thousands in North Dallas, that this is not a trustworthy business and that they truly do not care about their customer.False Advertising!
by JRod on 08/26/2024I walked into this dealership to purchase a car for the list price plus TT&L. I did not try to counter offer or haggle. Should have been a simple sale, but I had to tell them 3 separate times that I did not want to add on any additional… packages. Each time the salesman and/or manager approached me with the paperwork, they had built in an additional $2000 for a package I did not want. I left the dealership without a car and will never shop at Brandon Tomes Subaru again. They falsely advertised the price of the car and told me that they had already ordered the "package" for the car and at one point asked me to "help them out" by covering a portion of the cost. I believe they priced the car low to pull in people like myself with no intention of selling the car for the listed price. Don't be fooled!Professional & Prompt

When I was ready to purchase, I email him and made it clear that I was ready to… deal, and I already had done all my research and had all the numbers available. The first offer I received from the sales manager was a very good one, and I was able to agree to the offer immediately. The whole process was quick, easy and all the information was provided to me up front. This is the way I like to buy a new car.GREAT SUBARU

No Pressure and Professional
by Steviekicks on 05/26/2019This was a great experience. I worked with EB and he was a pleasure to deal with. Very professional without being pushy. I never once got annoyed by phone calls/email/text while the other local Subaru dealerships were blowing my phone up… with calls and emails daily. They are still doing it after I told them I already bought a new Subaru from Brandon Toms and my man EB. Looking for a car can be a huge headache and they can treat you unprofessionally (like the Toyota dealership in Denison, TX). EB made the whole process quick and seamless. The young man, I believe his name was Trey, who we met with in the business office was also great and didn't try to push anything on us. He just laid out out options and gave us the appropriate information to make an informed decision. Painless and Smooth

Kendulf and the rest of the staff there were exceptionally friendly, non-pushy and very fair in the sales and financing process.… Definitely will consider them first when buying our next Subaru - but who knows how long that will be!Best Car-Buying Experience Ever

He was top notch and went above and beyond for me to help get the best deal I could for our new Outback. I didn't have… to spend hours upon hours negotiating at the dealership. I messaged him and we negotiated the deal online before I ever had to step foot in the dealership. Working with Joe was more like working with a friend than a car salesman. I'm recommending anyone I know who is looking to buy a Subaru from him. The rest of the crew I spoke to was extremely helpful and friendly as well. by crewslade on 10/17/2017We drove 280 miles to get our Subaru and absolutely love it. This is our first Subaru. We had the best young man, Sam, helping us. I can't call him a salesman, because salesmen are pushy and he/they were not pushy at all! We talked, texted… and emailed for a couple of days before and they gave us the best price and made our trip well worth while for traveling that far. They had everything ready for us to sign and the transaction was smooth as silk. Sam even went with us to return our rental car and waited patiently while I did the return inspection and signed papers with enterprise. Mike in finances was quick with getting us up to his office and wonderful at explaining all the warranty options (especially in layman terms).Dana even helped link the bluetooth up for us. All of the employees that passed us, stop to say "hi" even the managers. It is a very warm and friendly place.Super easy first new car purchase!

I was able to custom order to get exactly the car that I wanted for a price that I was… comfortable with. When my BRZ came in everything was handled with great care. I could not be happier with my purchase. Also, Joe Rigali was able to provide insight in to owning a BRZ as that is what he owns / drives. He is a very knowledgeable salesperson. Curtis Moore also owns / drives a Subaru which is fantastic!Professional Approach to Vehicle Sales

Tomes Subaru had a larger inventory than many other dealers and that brought me to the dealership. I was greeted in a… friendly and sincere manner, shown the vehicle that I was interested in, test drove it, but was not intending to buy on the spot. The sales person, Bernard was attentive, relaxed and showed me numbers that were very attractive and we closed the deal. The process was painless, no drama, no pressure. Bob and Barbara Tomes began selling Ford vehicles in McKinney, Texas, on January 17, 1983. Their doors opened on a lot of about four acres with only 16 employees and about two dozen vehicles. As McKinney grew, so did the demand for Ford cars and trucks. In 1988 Bob and Barbara moved their dealership to its current six-acre site.
Bob Tomes Ford and Brandon Tomes Subaru now span 16 acres and feature new Ford, Lincoln and Subaru departments. We also feature a Pre-Owned Vehicle Department, Service and Parts Departments, Express Service Center, an expanded Rental Center and a Collision Repair Center.
